I was the victim of a fraudulent transaction last year and I am still feeling the harsh repercussions of it. My card registered for automatic payment with HostGator was replaced. I tried to cover everything the card had on auto payment, however I had not remembered my HostGator account. I just found out everything is gone. It was deleted on 2/28/2022. I found this out through customer service yesterday. I never received 1 notification of failure of payment by email or mail. I would like to think there are systems in place when something like this transpires. The customer service rep worked with me yesterday to try to restore my website and "escalated" the issue. I was told it would be back up within 24 hours and I would receive email communication. I have not received anything and the website is still down. Someone, please contact me on this issue. Initially, a Dave Ramsey ad. Then, I love it over GoDaddy (my clients' previous host) and even Bluehost (I know they are in the same company as HostGator). I prefer the previous UX and layout in the portal. Not a fan of the new changes but that's life.

Mostly good. Domain transfer was more challenging than expected, and I could not do several steps.
It was cheaper with a decent reputation.

I have been a Hostgator customer for over Ten years now, and I say VERY sincerely, that I could not speak more highly of the after sales support and service I have received from Hostgator. The service and enthusiasm for my business shown by these people as truly amazing. I regard Hostgator as "the standard all others should try to compete with".

The dashboard has been confusing, the data given by support is very fragmented, we lost Sitelock service, eventhough we are going to have a refund, which we really appreciate, this provoqued our client to get pretty annoyed. Keep the good work guys have a great 2024

I received a "critical error" notice and couldn't access my site at all today. I called and spoke to Paul in the Phillipines. (we were blessed with a good connection!) His English was excellent. He spoke at a pace that was easy to understand and he was so polite, kind and thoughtful! As I suspected, the problem was complicated so it took him awhile to resolve the issue, but he kept checking in with me to let me know what was going on to ask me to continue holding. When Paul explained all that he had done, I can tell you that he went above and beyond to resolve my problem. My site came right up perfectly with NO glitches. I am so grateful for Paul's help, and the fact that he handled everything in 1 call! Thank you, Paul! Thank you, Hostgator for wisely hiring Paul! (I hope you give him a big raise!)

I've used in the past. What I don't like is that the Cpanel password is different from my main hostgator account and I don't really know what it is. It may be the ID is different, but that isn't clearly stated anywhere that I remember seeing.

Hey Anthony,
The reason we have two log ins is because some people have developers that work on the back end but do not need access to their billing information. It's a safety measure we put in place.

I would not recommend a company that even after you remove the website from their hosting that they keep billing for a website that does not even exist there. I ofcourse called them to cancel and they said I did not. But yet, the website is not hosted there. Go to Siteground it is muuuuuch cheaper and you won't get ripped off like I did for 4 months getting billed for a website that was no longer hosted there.

I've had a Hostgator Baby Hosting package for several years. Originally I designated one of the domains I owned as my primary domain, but recently I let that domain expire. So I called Hostgator and requested that they change my primary domain to a domain that I still owned. They carried out my request, but a few days later when I tried bringing up my remaining domains on the Internet, they weren't showing up properly. I called Hostgator back and found out that my request had actually not been necessary (due to a misunderstanding on my part as to how primary domain setups work), and that's why things didn't turn out right. The Hostgator techs used a cPanel backup to get everything back to normal and in the end it all turned out fine. Thanks, Hostgator.
It was all fine. Everyone I spoke and communicated with was professional, helpful, and worked together as a team until my issue was resolved.
Back when I chose HostGator I was new to website building and had heard of HostGator as one of the major website hosting places. I'm happy with my account and experience with Hostgator to this point.

I encouraged a client to sign up with Host Gator (I'm usually a GoDaddy fan... this was my first time referring someone to Host Gator). As soon as I got into the WordPress dashboard, I updated the WordPress version and plug-ins and got a fatal error. I'm back on the phone with tech support instead of doing real work.

Front line service not good. Had to go to corporate Newfold to get the job done. Newfold did great work, Host Gator, not so much.

I dialed tech support the other day. Anjali was my assistant. I had an issue with my SSL. Anjali was swift to assist and sort out my issue in no time. They went further and offered me invaluable advice on what I could do to permanently sort the issue and were more than helpful to offer workable options to my SSL problems. I was more than happy to have dealt with Anjali at Tech Support.

You make it so difficult to cancel services and remove forms of payment that then customers get over charged recurring fees because they can't cancel. Short term thinking

YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE YOUR LANDING PAGE (AFTER USERS LOG IN) MISLEAD YOUR CLIENTS INTO SUSPECTING THAT THEIR PERSONAL INFORMATION IS NOT PROTECTED WHEN IN FACT IT IS AFTER THEY HAVE PREVIOUSLY SIGNED UP FOR WHOIS PROTECTION. YOU ARE TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO BUY SOMETHING THEY ALREADY HAVE USING THE TACTIC OF FEAR. $#*! YOU FOR DOING THAT. IT IS BAD PRACTICE AND UNETHICAL FROM A BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE. THAT'S A $#*!TY WAY OF RUNNING AN OPERATION. WHEN MY CONTRACT IS OVER, I AM SWITCHING TO ANOTHER PROVIDER JUST BECAUSE OF THIS.

I am a web developer, I developed not only my own site but also help my customers develop their sites and familiarize them with cpanel and wordpress. Last month a customer of mine had her site lose it's SSL cert, I called support, I chatted with support. I got through 4 technicians before my issue was resolved. Now I go onto my site, which nothing has changed I haven't signed into it for over a month and I notice that my SSL is not active, I attempt to activate it and it does not go through. I again call support, I get a tehnician and I get is 'well the IP address changed'. Well it's on you because I haven't changed anything so please fix it. 'We can't', well I know for a fact you can, because I just went through this same issue not even 2 weeks ago. So now I have to contact someone in support to help me configure the SSL for my site.

Hostgator scammed me of 35 pounds after i purchased a domain that was on error and your customer service told me that it has been cancelled. I was told to start expecting my refund in 24 hours after the 24 hours i didnt receive any thing and when i requested to know why after several attempts, several days, i was told that i cant get a refund for something i didnt buy? Till date after many chats with you guys you ended up taking the money. Hostgator are the worst. Even before the domain will work or propergate, you have to chat with them to activate ssl and others. Their service is a crap.

They explained it in a way so I understand what I need to do from now on.
They explained not only what I needed to do to update users and accounts, how to delete no longer used domains, etc but why so I will know what to do from now on.
Godaddy was breaking the bank, never any help with anything.

THIS IS THE WORSE SERVICE EVER. BAD TECH SUPPORT. THE COMPANY STRAIGHT-UP LIES TO YOU AS YOU SET THE ACCOUNT. THEN, WHEN YOU MAKE CHANGES, SUPPORT STAFF DO NOT HELP AND CREATE TICKETS THAT NEVER GET A RESOLUTION. THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Constantly issues with unauthorized changes being made to our DNS, yoast SEO premium which we paid for is not working properly and no one can give us an answer. Wish I had gone to a different copany because my concerns and case are being swept under the rug.
