Not sure what Hostgator did but it has really left customers vulnerable. Very buggy. Can't get SSL Certs to work. Trying to find another way to host websites.

Very good helpline services (live). The engineers quickly understood the problem and worked to solve it. They gave me realistic expectations (took some time to be solved)
The team was able to solve complex problems, one related to billing the second with transfer from GoDaddy, and a third to recovering a website from the backup.

Hostgator has friendly and capable chat tech support and affordable service. I will never go anywhere else. They leave me be to do my thing and save my bacon when I'm in trouble.

I've used Hostgator for many years on and off. It's been just okay the whole time. I've left them a couple of years ago and opted for other platforms to see what works.
Problem 1: I've experienced a few times where my site could not be accessed. So "downtime".
Problem 2: The worst thing about Hostgator is customer support. They make you jump through SO MANY hoops to chat with someone. It's ridiculous. It should be as easy as filling out a support ticket but it's not. You have to sign in to a separate site from your control panel and account to get to billing. And they ask so many questions and then list a bunch of articles that they expect you to read through before getting help. I only ever need to contact them if I can't find help IN the help articles!
Why make it such a difficult task to get help from an actual person? Sorry but Hostgator has the worst access to support of any site I can think of. I can think of sites that are probably larger that make it far easier to send off an email or fill out a support ticket.
I don't think I will ever use Hostgator again.

It was recommended but i am now realizing it was a mistake. I have been a customer for years and every 6 months i have the same issue and the issue gets fixed temporarily and comes back again. I am paying for every little thing and when i call i get asked to sign up for more things and i do but my core issue never gets resolved. I spent thousands on marketing and when someone types in www.khanfoue.com it shows up as unsecure website. It Hard enough to people to your webpage and they already dont trust you and your website shows up as unsecure website. I have paying 90$ to have a special SSL and i bet if i call about it now i will be asked to pay for some other service and this SSL issue won't be solved. I have lost a lot of money due to this SSL issue and i have calling about this for months and months on and no one seems to understand this SSL issue

Four of my websites FINALLY got live after two weeks of my time and untold hours of my time begging to get them working again. While I am grateful for you finally get them working, someone should have checked the new server long before now and seen they needed to be upgraded to work on the new server.

On my side I just get lies from support, I don't know if they want to give me any answer to get the next in the line, but no one wants to help with the problems that I facing, change from reseller to VPS and just have problems, one of my websites is useless and they claim that the problem is the memory of my VPS and yesterday I've got a chat through email telling me that's not the case, so I'm leaving because hostgator support isn't trusted anymore.

Recommended by a friend many years ago. I have stayed because of the customer service, where I can make a phone call, get a person who speaks clear English, and have answers when I need them.

After updating my plugins I developed a 'fatal error' and couldn't get into the dashboard to roll back the plugin.
I contacted customer support at Hostgator via the online chat facility and the support person, Jericho, deactivated all the plugins for me allowing me to get into the dashboard, where I was able to run the backup I completed before updating the offending plugin. All was fixed and running again.
Jericho also explained to me how to deactivate the plugins myself through the C-Panel.
I am extremely happy with the service.

I've been using Hostgator for over three years to host a Wordpress site on a VPS. When my initial 3 year agreement came to an end, I continued with them because of the consistent, quick and helpful customer chat support.
Since I sell products on my site, I need to keep it PCI compliant, and whenever issues have arisen, Hostgator has been quick and thorough to resolve and PCI issues. And I have no problem maintaining perfect 100 scores LightHouse scores thanks to Hostgator and WP-Rocket and WP-Rocket's CDN.

HostGator needs a VAST improvement in their invoicing process. One would expect that clicking on EXPORTING invoices would download them to a USABLE file! Like csv - but no, the export just PRINTS the files in a tedious repetitive and wholly unusable dump.
