Generaly speaking it is good. However the continuous update of SSL certificate after the website is not visible any more, and when I am reassured by the help line that this problem is fixed permantly, caused me in the past a lot of frustration

I have used HostGator for seven years to host my blog. Everything has gone well and as promised. If I need help or advice, the customer service representatives have always been helpful. I highly recommend them.

Like most people, getting a website and hosting service is not something I do often. I had decent experience with Hostgator 10 or so years ago, so naturally I purchased their hosting plan when I needed a new website…except nowhere it said that I can't transfer my domain from another provider for 60 days. Customer service was beyond rude, unhelpful and condescending and refused to either provide a refund or push my start date by 2 months. In the grand scheme things, it is not a big deal, but you don't treat customers in that manner. And then they send me a request to review them on sitejabber, but I could only do it if I put a positive review. Hostgator, your CS is beyond awful and 3 month after paying for a hosting plan my site is still not live. Guess whether I will be renewing my annual subscription with you?

Overall, phone calls resolve any issues.
Signing in can sometimes be challenging due to confusion depending upon what computer I use (for the computer to recognize passwords and/or the site requirements).

I needed help with setting up my new cell phone for email settings. No one else could help me out. Within five minutes all was setup. My website and my is carried by Hostgator and have been with them at least seven years. They are always very helpful and do a great job with any problems I have had. Differently give HostGator 5 stars.

My experience has been very good up until I renewed my hosting. Instead of the time being added to my current account, a new one was created. I've called numerous times and no one was able to figure out what happened or resolve the issue. So I paid or a three year hosting account for nothing.

If I send someone the link to my company through an email or a text, they can click on it and get to the site however, if someone types my domain in the URL search box, it will not reach my site. How do I fix this?

Not entirely happy as I was sent emails that I had 45 days after domain and service expiration to renew and lose content, only to find out that everything was lost anyway. The communication was absolutely incorrect as I had lost all of my website content and all of my emails associated with the account. However, the customer service was at least knowledgeable in getting me back online at the least, but I still had to start from scratch.
Other than that, it is a bit cumbersome to use. Too many places to log into, too many log in credentials to keep track of and having to reset your password too often.
I'm staying with Host Gator anyway because the functionality is good overall and I'm already used to it.
As mentioned above, although they were knowledgeable, they could not help or explain my unique matter. There were no solutions but to start over.

I'm not very tech savvy and in the beginning I had some misunderstanding/small issues with the hosting service but tech support was able to help me remedy the issues and get my website working properly. Service has been great since.
When I first contacted HostGator to host my Joomla website the service rep initially sold me the wrong package and it would not work. Once we figured out what the issue was and got the proper package set up things have worked well.
HostGator was one of the few services that was able to support my Joomla installation.

Most of our customers enjoy our website. The only issue we have is when it comes to submitting an application. Sometimes there is a glitch and it will not submit and people have to try several times. Other than that. I think the customer service works great and the website is always easy to find.

It was a recommended service for WordPress type of sites at the time, so I chose them.

It was an expensive service. Last year, you decided to increase the price for way over the inflation rate. But the most disappointing thing was how the tech support worsened significantly, and I did lots of them. The pages were all way too slow, and that was not my programming, because I managed to migrate them to other hosting service and suddenly they were way faster.
So I decided to move to Hostinger, which was easier, better, faster, cheaper and with better tech support.
At first I was rather satisfied, but many problems couldn't be solved by tech support due to the lack of knowledge, and sometimes their inability to understand my problems.
Because it was recommended worldwide, and the starting price was too convincing. So sad you don't reward a multiple-year customer and decide to charge way too more the second year on.
