I wish I could see my live chat history. I would wait for 30 minutes for a response, step away from my computer for 2 minutes and the chat ended and I couldn't see the technician's response.
Had to open up several live chats because I would tab out for a couple minutes and I couldn't see what they said after the chat was closed

I called 866-96-GATOR *******867) and got an unending message and choices to opt out of Direct TV. I called again and same nonsense. I called again and it went on about some home mortgage

Host Gator sales connected me to their SEO services which turns out to be contracted to SEOGears. They have essentially killed all traffic to my Website. They don't not appear to care.

I have been with HostGator for over a decade now and they have provided excellent hosting service throughout.
My website was down and my customer service representative was able to help me fix it even though it was a more complex issue.
I first chose HostGator because their packages were reasonable, and I stayed with them because their services are efficient and stable. I also appreciate their customer service which is available 24/7, and any issues are often fixed within one friendly and helpful conversation.

Very happy to have finally left HostGator completely. Awful customer service for years.
Confusing and different answers, losing connection and having to start all over again, long waiting time, many things that are impossible. It's been one of the most frustrating companies I've ever dealt with. The past years I only had an old domain hosted there, but when even that became impossible (problems with card payment that I don't have anywhere else) and customer service was incredibly frustrating again, I decided it was time to make a final effort to completely end my relationship with Hostgator. Couldn't be happier.
THey seemed a good option at the beginning.

No status updates; one rep politely told me to stop calling; reps did NOT convey the problem accurately.
All reps were courteous and read the standard paragraphs. A couple were excellent and tried to help but they are constrained. The phone number given to me was for another company "Blue Sky"
This link they gave me kept redirecting to hostadvice.com (a coupon marketing site whose OWN contact webform doesn't work) Finally today i tried once more and this form came up.
ALL THIS APPEARS TO THE CUSTOMER AS A SHAM TO DEFLECT ANY FEEDBACK.

Along the way I did stumble across an allegedly HG rep on twitter who said to contact him/her in problems like this. I would think HG would want to keep dirty laundry out of social networks.
