Good products, customer service is alright, the shipping has been known to be unpredictable. Sometimes super fast, others a little slow. If buying Christmas presents from here, make sure to order months earlier.
I ordered 2 items about an hour ago from HT's website. I get a notification about 30 minutes later saying one item isn't in stock, so I call customer service to tell them to cancel the other item; I just don't want the order. They absolutely REFUSE to cancel the order even though it hasn't shipped. They tell me the only way to get a refund is to wait for them to ship it, then waste my time and money returning it, wait for them to get the return, then finally I'd get a refund. It's absolutely asinine to have a policy like this. They've permanently lost me as a customer and I'm warning everyone else to please don't waste your time and money with this garbage store since they obviously don't care one bit about their customers' time and money.
I've shopped at HT for 16 years now. Recently I've made several online purchases and everything went smoothly. I recently tried to use a HotCash I received in the mail with one of those purchases. On the website it kept telling me my code was invalid, but after trying the code on several devices and checking it at least 10 times, still no luck. I called customer service. I wasn't thrilled with this experience but the team member was very pleasant. He didn't seem to understand I was trying to pay with a HT Guest List, and told me I would need to complete payment online. There was nowhere on the site that allowed me to update payment method but I could see the order. I saw a dress I was purchasing was not listed at the 50% off price (combinable with the coupon I had) and also saw the discount on the order was for $70 when my coupon was for $75 off $150. I put together an email with a front and back picture of my defected HotCash coupon, a screenshot of the dress price noting it was listed as 50% online and noted the difference in my coupon and the discount. Within 24 hours I received a response. They put together my order again, applied the correct coupon, and corrected the dress price. Everything was exactly how it should have been; I was able to call CS back and complete the payment with my HT GuestList card as planned. I've never had any with their stores or the website besides this instance, and when I did, they made sure to make it right. That says a lot to me!
I have shopped at Hot Topic for 20 years at this point. Always has fun items you can't find anywhere else.
All the employees were very kind and helped me find perfect school appropriate outfits for back to school shopping! <3
I like the chain a lot but I was very uncomfortable at this location and won't be going back. Good customer service is one thing but the Assistant Manager takes it to a whole new, creepy level. He is married and so am I but he really laid it on thick, constantly flirted with me, and somehow always found reasons to be near me (looking through items at the same places I was looking through them, rearranging stock at another location where I was, etc.) and talk to me. A friend was with me and she can corroborate this.
He used a ladder near my dressing room while I was trying on bathing suits, so he could easily have seen over the door. He also invited me into the back room, which he calls the "inner sanctum". The icing on the cake, though (yes, I'm being sarcastic) was when he sent me selfies that were taken in the Hot Topic bathroom. In the pictures he was wearing underwear and a smile, if you catch my drift.
I went to another store to have my personal information taken out of the computer system so he had no way to contact me. That store's Manager had his District Manager get in touch with me. I told her what happened, but when she spoke to him he lied and denied everything.
I also blocked him on all social media (or so I thought). On 5/26/16 I got a threatening message on Yelp from the person I mentioned in this review, and his wife made a new Facebook profile just to harass and threaten me (I have blocked those profiles and reported him to Yelp). He's trying to shut me up because he doesn't want people (especially his wife) to hear the truth about him.
I have gone to the police and filed a harassment report. I also had my lawyer send them a cease-and-desist letter, demanding that they leave me alone. If either of them gets in touch with me again, I will be pressing formal harassment charges.
I'm a grown woman who can easily handle unwanted attention, but I can't help but worry about the underage female workers and customers who may easily be intimidated by him, especially if he is their superior.
Best shop I have ever been to. Amazing products and good prices. Staff and website, never had a problem. Nothing more needs to be said :)
Horrible customer service. Would not allow my return of a defective product within a two week time period.
Couldnt get in with face shield but could get in every other store in the mall! Pretty $#*!ty of you i never asked for breathing problems! I shopped here alot but NEVER AGAIN!
Several weeks ago I ordered a dress from hottopic.com for my daughter to wear two days from now to her graduation. I was charged $34! Shipping for one dress, but we live in the Virgin Islands, shopping is limited for what she likes to wear, and hottopic.com didn't give me any shipping options, so I bit the bullet and bought it. When it hadn't arrived by last week, and I re-checked FedEx and saw it wouldn't arrive until June 9, six days after graduation, I called customer service. The young woman was very nice and said she would send out the dress overnight. (No longer had my daughter's size in that dress, so she had to pick out another.) Great, I thought, overnight. Not great. It didn't arrive overnight but it was Memorial Day weekend so we were sure it would arrive Tues. Nope. FedEx website said by Wednesday. Nope. Now FedEx website says June freaking 23rd. Back on the phone with hottopic.com and after at least 30 mins, Emele tells me they don't ship FedEx overnight to the VI. (I told the first cust svc agent that, because it's too expensive and she said, "well that's how we ship.") I thought perhaps it would go USPS - why not use USPS hottopic.com?? It was at this point in the conversation with Emele, when I asked couldn't they ship it Express Mail, that she hung up on me, xferring back to the initial call-in recording. Graduation is in two days and no dress. Thanks for, literally, nothing hottopic.
Great company and awesome products! Always find what I'm looking for plus more. Love the tshirts and funko pops!

I was calling customer service to see if they would help me change my address but they didn't help me.
My 16 year old daughter visited the Westshore Mall Hot Topic Tampa store today and none of us will ever be back to this location or any other Hot Topic store based on the actions of a hateful evil employee and the lack of action from their bias liberal corporate office in liberal California! Unfortunately, She was shopping with another 16 year old friend only to be confronted with a psychotic hate fest of our President Trump, religion and the bible from a complete mental case employee along with him pushing his gay marriage and gay lifestyle on these two minors, This rant went on for quite sometime throughout the store until they finally had to leave because of his lunacy. They showed complete restraint and respect for this lunatic as that's how conservatives act and they were taught! I was informed of the employee's actions and called corporate headquarters to discuss the inappropriate conversation and rants of this employee! I was told they would obtain all the information from me and refer to the district manager to contact me back for further discussion. I provided all my information and she began to tell him what was said. He immediately defended the employee especially with his rants about the LBGTQ community and said that's not a concern of the company. I informed him that I have nothing against the LBGTQ community but I have a problem with him as an employee spewing his sexual preference with having a husband to my child while she is shopping. I'm sure my call will not go anywhere since corporate employees condone this type of employee harassment and beliefs pushed onto customers! Disgraceful and we won't be shopping there ever again! I wish I could give a zero star because one star is one too many!
They sell cool stuff for kids.My son shopped there a lot when he was younger. He looked great in them
My experience is regarding the Hot Topic store at Mapleview Mall, Burlington ON. This store in particular trains staff to discriminate against people. I have a medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask and I have been harassed by their staff because of it. This is a direct violation of The Ontarian's Disability Act, The Halton By-Law and my Canadian Charter of Rights. I have never been met with such ridiculous acts of discrimination. I have called Hot Topic HEAD OFFICE *twice* to get in contact with the Mapleview Hot Topic district manager and have heard NOTHING back for weeks. My complaint is also regarding Hot Topic's head office who couldn't care less about their discriminatory polices going on. They also transferred me to U. S numbers (without my knowledge) so as so not deal with this situation in Canada, they have since bared ZERO responsibility for this crime. In addition to baring ZERO responsibility, Mapleview's Hot Topic manager continues to hide behind closed doors while they push their staff to do their dirty work for them. It's disgusting behaviour and you should be ashamed of yourself for even pushing your staff to be in such a horrible position to do something like that to another. You've lost a loyal customer for life, and I hope you (the district manager, and Hot Topic in general) understand, that I am enlightening everyone about this experience.
Sent in order for my granddaughter, they cancelled it. Ordered again, canceled again. I will never shop there again.
I recently purchased a hot topic exclusive Riverdale shirt and it looks AMAZING in person. I received the package after a week and I didnt encounter any problems!
If you don't like tv or music or goth stuff this place isnt for you. Not for old people just young stupid kids
I ordered 6 items from Hottopic and all 6 items were wrong items. Not a happy customer. I guess they wasn't paying any attention
Associate kenni went above and beyond to help us purchase items others wise we would have left without pleas e check her out
I wish I could give it a higher rating. I love everything about this store! Even in store people working there are amazing. LOVE LOVE LOVE
I placed an order with Hot Topic the other day because I noticed a "Big Sale" for the weekend. I ordered 2 t shirts, and 3 Funko Pop figures. TWO of which were the same. Later that day, I received an email that ONE of the Pop figures was shipped. Not the one I ordered doubles of. I checked my order on the website, and the Pop figure I ordered 2 of, read "Out of Stock". Generally, with other sites, that would include my order. As in, they became out of stock after fulfilling, or putting aside my order. I called to find out what the story was, and they said it's "back ordered" and the T Shirts might ship on Monday because they don't do shipping on Sundays.
I then received an email on Sunday saying the t shirts were shipped. I called again, and they said that they won't know if the pop figures will be available for One Week to 90 days. I said, I would've rather them wait to find out because if the pop figures wouldn't ship, I would've canceled the order completely.
The rep said if that's the case, I can return the items. BUT, returns are only good for 30 days after receiveing, but he would put a note saying that I can return if it takes up to 90 days to find out the status of my pop order.
He then explained that he would add 2 Rewards to my account that are good for $5 off any order. ($10 in total) that expire in a month and a half.
I explained that I appreciate that, but will not order anything from them until I know the status of my Pop figures. Again, added a note to reinstate those rewards should my status be determined after 90 days.
So... I may not be able to wear these shirts for 90 days, nor remove the other Pop from its box for nearly 3 months because they put an item on their site that was not it stock, that was marked IN STOCK when I ordered.
I have no faith in placing further orders in fear of the items I order not actually being in stock. It was a mess up on their end because they didn't update their site info. Now, I may have to hold on to 3 items I can't use for nearly 3 months because of it.
Tip for consumers:
Do not order from them. Whatever you order may not actually be in stock.

None, yet. If they don’t send the part of my order, I will be returning them.
The whole situation was bad. Like wow. So I ordered the Pikachu cardigan online. It is ABSOLUTELY not like the picture the black of the cardigan shows through pikachus yellow body. It makes pikachu look infected. In the picture online it looks PERFECT. I tried 3 times to post a review saying how unhappy I was with the (expensive) product. I haven't even worn it. It's an ugly cardigan and a total waste, I'd post a picture if I could. I made a side by side of what they show on the website and what I got. It's HORRIBLE. None of my reviews were posted because they didn't follow the rules. I had family read the reviews. Only thing we can think of is they wouldn't post it because I was honest about the product or because I said I'd never shop with hottopic again. But now here's the real issue. I don't live super close to a hottopic. That's why I ordered online. But to return we made the drive to North bend outlet mall where there's a hottopic I've been to once before. The first time I was there the guy was nice. Second time when I tried returning the cardigan? Nope. He said it was wet and that it smelled modly? After I received it and saw how UGLY it was i put it back in the bag until we could drive to the store and return it. It had no smell besides factory smell like all clothes have and it definitely wasn't wet. I've sent two emails to the hottopic website and haven't gotten a thing back (it's been a week). Do not shop with hottopic topic. Expensive, horrible customer, bad products and just a bad experience. I now have an expensive cardigan that's absolutely worthless. Again, I will N. E. V. E. R. Shop with hottopic again. Unprofessional.
