Nightmare with their IKEA for business sector. Sent wrong products 4x in a row for my office cabinets. Their financial team never verified the return process and posted to a canceled account without authorization, then never followed up with me directly with mail, etc. after multiple attempts to post the return. I'm an extremely patient person with customer service having experience on an IT helpdesk phone system, but quickly found their customer service is challenging to work with. I got transferred three times only to wait on hold for 2 hours. Reached the original person who transferred me improperly and was patient only asking for a manager, but was rejected. Finally forced my hand and manager is an intermediary at least, but no communication with the source has caused more confusion on the issue.
My experience: Bought a shelf unit, the only one they had to verify fit and color. Spoke with the service desk and they explained the units could be purchased online. Spent a week trying to purchase online at the Draper store. The only way I could make the purchase is to have it delivered. Opened the first box purchased in store and found 5 pieces missing. Called support to see if they could send the missing pieces and they could find no inventory at Draper. Took it back to the store as directed by the phone support but since after waiting 30 minutes and moving two persons up in line from 18 to 16, I gave up. If I new now before I started this project I would have just bid a contractor... It would like have cost me more but it would have been worth it. My advice buy dishes at Ikea but don't buy their furniture.
I temporarily lived in Sweden, and this Swedish company should be ashamed of themselves by marring the image of that country with their crappy customer service and bringing nothing but dishonor. First, they'll fail the promise they make you. Then they'll get their asinine third-party delivery service to leave you waiting an entire day at home, only to call you the day after about the missed delivery, huh. Lastly, they'll try to wiggle away with not refunding you a service fee for providing partially-done service, like how you'd pay an electrician or plumber to drive out to your house, look around, but not fix what needs to be fixed. The logic.
Add to it the fact that their general service line is always busy with no-waiting and their very NOT customer-first attitude, you have nothing but one of the worst company to buy from here.

They are always my first choice whne it comes to furniture and home stuff. I just can't imagine any other shops that can give design, quality, relatively nice price and this kind of fun that you have walking around the store and especially eating in their canteen. Btw, the food at the canteen is not of so high quality, i would rather say they unfreeze it and warm up then serve for you. It contains a lot of preservatives, doesn't feel too natural. But it's cheap and nicely put half the way through the store so i always spend a few moments there - i'm always starving by the time i reach it.
I am a 99% online shopper. I have frequently made purchase and returned items to other stores with no problem. However, that is not true with Ikea. First off, they do not provide free return shipping. After paying $17.00 to return the items to the closet store near me, and waiting 2 weeks, I called customer service, waiting 10 minutes to talk to representative. I was then informed, that even though my package was delivered 2 weeks earlier, it wasn't processed until 2 days ago because they had "other returns. Now I have to wait up to another 14 days from now for my refund. All in all, it will take about a month when other sites take days. My advice, only order from Ikea if you're positive you are going to keep it. Very disappointed and will not be ordering from them again!
The company does not understand what customer service is at all. Folks over there are doing the minimal work they can when answering phones or on the chat and passing customer to someone else. The delivery service is a joke. Their delivery is a guess game on when it will arrive and if it will arrive. IKEA takes no responsibility for delivery or schedule. They pass you to their delivery partner who, in turn, passes you back to IKEA. I waited once 4 hours on already scheduled delivery and no one showed up. Then, after spending 6 hours on the phone between IKEA and their delivery partner, I was rescheduled for next day; just to find out that the delivery partner rescheduled me for week later, without letting me know. I was long time customer but now, I am done! Never again!

We ordered a shelf from IKEA in vaughan that never came. Stayed home from work twice for delivery dates they kept giving but they cancel last minute so I missed work twice. It's been months and I still cannot get in touch with them. There's 2- 3 hours wait on phone and no email. They took our money and charged delivery but no services. Their products are cheap quality too which is why we shouldn't have purchased again from them. Cheap quality. Cheap service. Do not ever buy from them. Not worth your time.
I love Ikea! I am not at all handy with tools and yet I was able to put together a desk and a bookshelf that look 5 times the price! The learning curve was a tad steep but if you keep a stiff upper lip, and keep looking at a pic of the finished product (for inspiration) I think almost anyone can master the building art of Ikea. It's worth it for the price! And the style! :)
Bought this Ikea PS black Wardrobe - organizer. It came out to be the flimsiest organizer ever! After storing a few clothes in it, you cannot touch it because it falls down and the casters are loose. I know it's a cheap wardrobe, but seriously?
The most painful stressful experience just trying to select and pay on line. The tracking info then advised 3 different delivery days, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The rescheduling app keeps showing the Sunday delivery(67 items) as being 5 items on Tuesday and I can't get the correct delivery. There will be no-one at the property on Sunday. I am so frustrated, your help chat is AI and useless. If I can't get Human response tomorrow I shall cancel the order.

The website randomly stops recognizing users during s single session. Then you have to redo the shopping list every time you log in. The online planners (kitchen, PAX) are horribly slow and non-optimized. Search filters are rudimental and non-intuitive (e.g. You should be able to filter by height). If you only need to look up the price of some article, it's ok, but you better know its name in Swedish! All in all, the whole online experience is nerve wrecking.
I hopped onto the Ikea website to see what kind of options I had for a kitchen remodel. I was surprised by the accuracy and adaptability of their remodeling program. I was able to build my entire kitchen online and have an Ikea remodel expert go over it and process the order for free. The accuracy is fantastic.

Ikea's online ordering process creates problems. In my case, I ordered a bookcase. I had to complete sale before I could learn when the delivery date was. When their delivery date didn't work for me, I followed links to reschedule. For some reason, no matter how quickly I type and click, the Rescheduler keeps saying Session Timed Out. How can it time out after 12-13 seconds? The web process is dysfunctional and creates problems which you then have to spend time trying to solve.
Very good services, delivery right on time. I have shopped Ikea online many times and I had no complains. The customer support team is always ready to help and no delays in responding, shipping nor delivery ever occurred. I hope the services will stay the same.
Ikea is the most unorganized company when ordering for delivery. Ordered a shoe cabinet. Told there were 6 in stock. I was given a delivery date and time. They charged my card within minutes. One week later no cabinet and no update. Called them and they tell me it was never in stock but on backorder. Now to get a refund they say it will take 7-10 business days. Thats BS. How can they charge my card in minutes but it takes 7-10 days for a refund. Very poor operation. Would not order again from IKEA.
I consider Ikea to be a really great find for me. The prices are reasonable and match the quality of products they sell. The goods are very stylish and affordable. With Ikea online shopping becomes enjoyable.
I ordered a rug via click to pick up online. It defaults to any store that has it in stock not the store you have selected as your primary store. I therefore accidentally selected a store too far from me. I used chat to see if it could be changed. The chat agent did not speak my language and was rather rude about sharing the policy that they could not help me and I would not be able to have my money returned for up to 15 days! When I said this was unacceptable, I was give a customer service number. After a 10 minute hold. I was told I could be transferred to another return department. I was transferred and hung up on after I listened to a message saying they could not help me...I find this inconvenient and unjust. I want my money back today or tomorrow without a hassle. I'm not a bank and you cannot borrow my money for 15 days! Until now I enjoyed IKEA for years...This is awful.
Bought $400 of stuff online. I'm sure it would have been great stuff, but we never received it. My husband and I were both home anxiously waiting the day it was supposed to be delivered. Nobody ever knocked. The whole day passes by. Still no ikea. I get an email from IKEA saying they want us to pay $50 more to deliver it. Why are they charging me twice for a service they never provided? I called ikea support, and they said that apparently nobody will come to deliver the items unless you answer a call from an unknown number a couple hours beforehand. I never answer calls from unknown numbers. It should be illegal to charge people for services you did not provide. I will not be paying for redelivery, and ikea is refusing to refund the $50 I already paid for delivery. Unfortunately, I paid with a debit card, so there is no way to dispute the transaction. We will never purchase from ikea again.
Ordered a chest of drawers from IKEA online for delivery. They sent me an email explaining I am to wait for a followup email on when it will be delivered. 2 days later i received the email. No options for delivery dates/times (like online food shopping does). So, the day THEY chose was not good for me and i needed to change.
I spent 2 weeks trying to contact IKEA and wasted so much phone credit! On my way home from work I had a missed call received 2 hours earlier, 'We're outside your house, Miss Wood with your delivery.'
I was livid. Re-called then and there and they said they are an external delivery service, so for a redelivery it will be charged.
Only good thing about the experience was I did receive my refund AND my phone credit once I gave proof. Just, will not be ordering for delivery in the future.
We placed an order on their site They keep postponing the delivery date of our order. We want to talk to someone and at this point want to get a refund and it's impossible to reach someone to help. We wrote an email, we never heard from any one, The only department to pick up is the sales department, and they just transfer you and you are on hold literally for an hour. Ikea music became my background music. So disapointed. Was considering doing a kitchen with them, not anymore. Too scared of the after service.
Fast delivery, good customer service and products which absolutely worth for their price. I usually buy décor staff for home, and so far it is one of the best places where you can find lots of different product at one place (in terms of décor and furniture).
Customer service rep was almost yelling at me. I was charged for not taking the call of their driver (delivery service) because I was on the toilet. I called back 3 min later, but that was too late: the driver refused to take my call. As per Ikea, this is clearly my fault and I have to pay for their drive.
Ordered on-line - they shipped the wrong item (furniture) and it is impossible to get a live person on the phone to discuss how to resolve. The automated phone system cycles you through and then hangs up. After 4 different tries got a person who quickly transferred me to a dial tone. Wrote an email last week and still no reply. In the meantime I have a piece of furniture I didn't order and do not want and a missing piece of furniture I did order.
I bought a lounge sofa. It is almost impossible to sit good in it. You need a lot of pillows to adjust your comfort. From the beginning i knew i bought bad quality. Never again IKEA. It seems cheap, but now i have to buy real material.
