IKEA is my favorite furniture store for its affordable prices, modern designs, and convenient shopping experience. The showroom layouts are inspiring and make it easy to visualize how pieces will look in my home. I appreciate the flat-pack packaging, which makes transportation and assembly a breeze. The variety of styles and options available ensure that there's something for every taste and budget
Nightmare with their IKEA for business sector. Sent wrong products 4x in a row for my office cabinets. Their financial team never verified the return process and posted to a canceled account without authorization, then never followed up with me directly with mail, etc. after multiple attempts to post the return. I'm an extremely patient person with customer service having experience on an IT helpdesk phone system, but quickly found their customer service is challenging to work with. I got transferred three times only to wait on hold for 2 hours. Reached the original person who transferred me improperly and was patient only asking for a manager, but was rejected. Finally forced my hand and manager is an intermediary at least, but no communication with the source has caused more confusion on the issue.
A place I always go when in need of some decent-priced but stylish furniture part or decoration for my house. Easy to choose, easy to gather it from pieces
I bought some furniture for the children's room, recently. But it's isn't my first purchase. Well, fast delivery and kind staff as usual. I like its minimalism in design.
Placed an order for urgent delivery. Package is split into 2 delivery days, not ideal but okay. Second delivery date comes and the order doesn't arrive. The Ikea website just says it's "getting ready". Ring next day and get loads of apologies and reorganisation for delivery. Delivery day comes and goes and again no delivery. Apparently there was a problem with the vehicle, hmmmm, but that doesn't explain why I didn't receive the day before notification that usually comes. Did they mean their vehicle broke down the day before or they are psychics who didn't send the notification message the day before because they already knew the vehicle would have a problem? Impressive.
Ring again, get loads of empty apologies again. So now my order is apparently going to be delivered 10 days after it was placed - for urgent delivery.
As for compensation, after taking 3 working days off as holiday, 2 botched deliveries, and hours spent on the phone I had the choice between receiving £10 back that I paid for urgent delivery OR £30 Ikea gift voucher. I pointed out that I should be refunded the £10 anyway as I had not received urgent delivery, which was agreed, but then I would not be offered any further compensation for my ordeal and my time wasted by ikea.
Come on Ikea, If you are already offering me a £30 voucher do you really despise your customers that much that you can't refund them £10 extra they paid for urgent delivery - that they didn't get? Doesn't seem like very fair customer service to me.

Well rating it on the sole basis of it's inventory they would score an easy %100. I like going to the 1 out in Calgary even though it's a bit far out, that is still ok with me. They do a really good job "At least this store/location does", of putting up displays. Gives me a LOT of idea's on how to improve the look of the house, even though I already have a good idea, and there's always new things they come out with which I really like. One thing I can't stand with a lot of stores is just carrying the same stuff & nothing new or innovative. Ikea is the polar opposite of that which I like very much.
Now how they treat their staff is another matter which they should have an internal look at from an independent source, imo at least their Canadian store's anyways. And by the way it is 1 of the cleanest & well kept store's I have seen. This i'm talking about on a daily basis so that is very commendable. 1 other thing as I don't know if every Ikea has a food court but that's just another good point about this place. Well done indeed.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING AT IKEA! If you ever require customer service you will be on hold for an hour plus. I had to call them on 3 different occasions over a 2 month period and each and every call I was placed on hold for over an hour. When I spoke to a customer service person, I told them of the extremely long wait, they said they were aware of the problem. I just called again and got a voice message said due to the extremely high call volume, I would have to call back later and then got disconnected. Obviously management at IKEA cares only on sales volume and has no concern about customer support
IKEA has a user-friendly website where you can easily find a product that is on sale.
If we talk about the brand in general, I like that their products are made in different countries of the world, and besides that, they are also good. I also like toys from IKEA, they are soft and made of quality materials.
Every time I go to IKEA, after shopping, I always go to their restaurant, I always buy delicious Swedish meatballs with lingonberry sauce, french fries and unlimited drinks there.
Another plus of IKEA is that their food (for example, the same Swedish meatballs) can be brought home and cooked.
I order IKEA kitchen on March 30th, 2020. I received half of the kitchen. After 25 days I received call from IKEA representative that order for other half is cancelled because IKEA does not have capacity to deliver my order? Ikea is still accepting online order but my order is cancelled!
After that I received email from no reply IKEA: "delivery company has attempted contacting you on several occasions to schedule a delivery appointment, however, they have not heard back from you and shipping and handling costs are non-refundable "? Where is integrity of IKEA? I never received a call.
In addition, what I am going to do with another half of the kitchen that is now useless?

EVERY step of the way has had issues, from ongoing delayed deliveries, missing items, lack of updates from IKEA on delays and missing items, difficulty in reaching customer service to enquire on said delays/items, inability of staff to properly follow through with pick-ups/refunds therefore resulting in delayed pick-ups and refunds, missing parts or parts that were not finished being cut, etc. Like others, I have had to waste hours, days and much energy waiting for deliveries that never showed up, putting aside tasks I could have completed had the schedule been adhered to or updates on a modified schedule at least been provided to me. I am overdue compensation for this trouble. Like others, I'll be justifiably reporting IKEA to the BBB and FTC and publishing bad reviews wherever I can. The first and last time I'll be shopping at IKEA. And I hope IKEA soon gets what it deserves: to be shut down.
Tip for consumers:
Do not ever shop from IKEA.
Scandinavian furniture without the hefty pricing. Their store is bonkers. I wish it wasn't so big. It really tires me out feeling the need to see everything. But hey, what options they have.
I like their ideas for arranging environments which we are living in. I boghts several pieces of furniture here and can say that I was amazed with the quality.
I purchased two bathroom cabinets on-line via Ikea website. The delivery schedule, for the same city, 20 miles away was 11 days from purchase. Really? That long? Then the delivery company "Dynamex" in Dallas tried to deliver the product to a business on a Sunday, when the business was obviously closed. They did not try to redeliver on the following Monday or Tuesday. It took numerous phone calls to Dynamex and Ikea to try to straighten things out. They were never going to try to redeliver. I had to call and reschedule, they wanted to charge me another $50.00 on top of the $100.00 delivery fee I already incurred. This "redelivery" was not scheduled for another 2 days. Then the delivery company did not deliver on that scheduled day. It took them one more additional day. Meanwhile my paid contractors are waiting. Bottom line, it was a miserable experience. Absolutely no customer service, just the run around, pointing fingers. I will never, never order from them again. I am now going to write reviews for the miserable, inefficient delivery company, Dynamex.
Some items from here are worth the value. Like candles, kitchen stuff. Even got a dresser from here and it's good quality. Always visit the website first then head straight to the store.
Ikea was great as the showroom helped me create a whole new redesign with new furniture for every room. Furnishing a 3 bedroom home only cost a few thousand which is a steal.

It's better to go in store as there are some things that make more sense seeing it in person

I ordered a kitchen cupboard for a house that had an ikea kitchen to test colour match and fit. This was delivered as if it had been kicking around a warehouse for years, outer postal box mint but inside smashed up!
I requested an exchange, this was organised and I ordered the rest of the units to arrive the same day. The replacement was perfect but 4 items where missing from order number two. Roll on 2 days from this delivery and I am told they need more time to complete the order!
I complain and I'm offered a store card of no value to me as I won't shop with them again.
I want to just have my complaint acknowledged and the delivery aspect refunding as I have not had what I paid for.
Their customer care is literally no existent, honestly it doesn't exist, your email bounces back from customer. Service@ their url and you then click a series of links on a website to be given a phone number! You call it and the terrible customer care starts again.
My recommendation is go elsewhere, if I knew what I know now I would have just ripped the kitchen out and gone to Wickes!
Placed order online, failed delivery 3 days In a row, tried to cancel order online not available, tried webchat to be informed that it was not possible to cancel order, several attempts to contact customer services by phone, waiting for hours eventually reached a human being who passed me around, eventually spoke to somebody who was able to cancel order, but would take 10-14 day for refund on my card.
Extremely poor customer services, AVOID, AVOID,AVOID wished I had read the reviews before placing order, you learn from your mistakes.
I placed an order for some kitchen storage items and a stock pot. Whoever packed the two boxes did a horrible job.
Fed Ex would not even deliver one box because they could tell something had broke inside, so they shipped it back to Ikea.
When I opened the other box. Everything had been packed on top of the stockpot, which had a glass lid. There was no padding on top of the pot and the lid was in hundreds of pieces inside the pot.
With no option to e-mail Ikea to resolve the issue, I am currently on hold with their customer service number. This is the third time I have called and I have been on hold for a total of 2-1/2 hours between these three calls.
I actually spoke to someone briefly during the second call and he said he needed to transfer me to another department, which never answered.
I cannot believe how awful this experience has been. I have no idea what they plan to do with regards to the box I never even received and it would be pretty simple for them to just send me a new lid for the pot, but after spending almost 3 hours on the phone listening to their bulls>>t taped message about how important my call is and how easy Ikea.com shopping is I think I am going to lose my mind.
NEVER AGAIN!
The best thing about IKEA is that anyone can put the furniture together as rather than written instructions it has pictures and arrows, I put up a desk and a bedside table only needing a hammer and screwdriver.
The only downside is assembling it but that's why I hire people to do that instead of me. It's still cheaper and better than most of the stores I know of.
Just wanted to say thank you for this wonderful christmas collection. Amazing as usual! Thanks a lot for your wonderful taste and for choosing those colors. Nice job! Way to go!
Terrible experience. Terrible customer service. My son ordered a bedroom set for college that was to be delivered in two separate deliveries on Saturday August 5th. One arrived. Another was rescheduled for Sunday. They never showed. They later rescheduled for Friday. Again no call no show. My son reached out to them and they said all he was missing was the bed frame and he could pick that up at the store. I then called to inform them we were missing far more than the frame and we weren't driving to pick up items we paid to have delivered. All we had was the night stands, two of three boxes for the dresser and bed rails. We were missing almost the entire bed and had a useless couple of boxes for a dresser. Spent 30 minutes on the phone explaining what we needed. I was assured yet again that the items would be delivered. Didn't show Saturday. Didn't show Sunday. Called again and spent another hour on the phone to get a refund. Complete waste of time. Obviously their customer service members are completely clueless and just tell you what you want to hear. Finally, these morons wanted us to return the useless crap they had delivered in order to receive the refund. Really? More time out of my day for your ineptitude? Never order from these idiots.

Nothing as they never delivered anything in its entirety
Ikea is a great store and it's well-known all over the world! I appreciate the goods they sell. Affordable and stylish furniture. Though sometimes it's not easy to gather all the pieces into one.
Bought one of their famous assemble-it-yourself-you-fool pieces of wood furniture. It was delivered in two large and heavy boxes, cleverly packed. There were four large wood pieces all the same shape and size but each with a different set of predrilled holes. Well, they mispacked and included two of one piece and none of another.
One would think this would be easy to solve. Nope. First, the instructions only had part numbers for the hardware, nothing for wood pieces. Second, "missing piece?" online instructions had no way to indicate the problem or request replacement without that part number. I finally hunted and found a way to send an email.
Took them a week to respond and then it kept getting bounced from person to person, most of whom seemed to disbelieve and made me start from the beginning. No one would ever take ownership of the problem saying, "no, that cannot happen." (well, it did)
Finally, after about five weeks the sent the replacement part (actually, they send two of them!). Overall a fine example of arrogance thinking that customers are always trying to rip them off when in truth the opposite could probably be claimed just as well.
Fun evironment to shop for home needs, along with affordable prices. I enjoy the cafeteria at Ikea as well - I've loved the Ikeas I've visited in different countries too.
I have never purchased anything from Ikea before and had heard good things years ago. Found a sofa I liked there. Ok priced sobought it, set to be delivered in 5 days. Thought that was fast and was happy. However, changed my schedule around and 1 hour before the delivery window I get a text about it being canceled. I had to call 8 times to get someone to do anything. Everyone was rude, unhelpful and non-apologetic. No supervisors work there either apparently. Just an absolute joke! I got no answers as to what happened etc. I don't even really care about the delivery issue, it was the 8 times calling to get help. Two weeks later i get a new delivery date. All unacceptable! After reading others experiences, I have a completely different view of Ikea. It's definitely not the old Ikea I heard good things about. Hopefully they figure it out before they go under. I don't care either way considering it's my LAST EVER, that is if I ever receive it, purchase from Ikea. They don't care about customers who actually make the business, then they don't need my business apparently. I told them about reviewing wherever possible to let others know, but they didn't care either

Buy stuff that can be shipped or not at all. You'll have hypertension if you have to call customer service

Haven't even received products as of yet. Delivery is atrocias for furniture
I made an in store purchase and asked to have my couch delivered because it would not fit in my car. The first delivery was not bad. However, once I opened the boxes and starting putting my couch together i noticed one piece had a huge hole in the wooden frame. So I called customer service, waited for 44 minutes. They offered to come pick up the bad piece and replace it, but told me a different person would call me to schedule a time. I waited a day for that call. And requested for a Tuesday evening due to my work schedule. He said, "at this time all I can do is put Tuesday 9-9 down but they will call you the day before to verify a 4 hour time frame and allow you to reschedule." I never received a phone call, but late at night I receive a txt saying they had a cancellation and asked if they can come early in the morning. I responded no, in the evening. Come Tuesday, they try to show up at my apartment while at work in the early afternoon. And I am being charged for not being there at the time of the delivery. Horrible communication skills and I've had a horrible time trying to just speak to anyone in customer service because they continually transfer me to different departments then I end up waiting 30+ minutes each time I'm transferred.
