IKEA is my favorite furniture store for its affordable prices, modern designs, and convenient shopping experience. The showroom layouts are inspiring and make it easy to visualize how pieces will look in my home. I appreciate the flat-pack packaging, which makes transportation and assembly a breeze. The variety of styles and options available ensure that there's something for every taste and budget
Nightmare with their IKEA for business sector. Sent wrong products 4x in a row for my office cabinets. Their financial team never verified the return process and posted to a canceled account without authorization, then never followed up with me directly with mail, etc. after multiple attempts to post the return. I'm an extremely patient person with customer service having experience on an IT helpdesk phone system, but quickly found their customer service is challenging to work with. I got transferred three times only to wait on hold for 2 hours. Reached the original person who transferred me improperly and was patient only asking for a manager, but was rejected. Finally forced my hand and manager is an intermediary at least, but no communication with the source has caused more confusion on the issue.
I purchased a glass cylinder vase from IKEA & it arrived to my home TOTALLY SHATTERED. How STUPID, LAZY & IRRESPONSIBLE is it to pack a GLASS VASE with absolutely no stickers, no stamp, no writing, NO NOTHING, to indicate the contents of the delivery box are FRAGILE, and to pack a GLASS VASE with only ONE PIECE OF SHRIBBLED UP BROWN PAPER & no protective material INSIDE the box whatsoever to protect the vase from damage while being handled & while in transit. NOW they don't want to refund me the TOTAL amount I paid, - Why, I have no idea, but I SHOULD get a TOTAL refund since the glass vase I PAID FOR ARRIVED TOTALLY DAMAGED. I will never EVER purchase anything from IKEA again
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT BUY FROM IKEA

During end of May when stores were still closed, I was able to finally checkout and order my first time. Site was having technical problems at checkout. Unfortunately I had to pay $49 flat delivery fee so I added more stuff to my order besides a desk. I ordered a huge floor mirror and 2 desk mats. Delivery was 2 months out into end of July. However, I kept checking online I was able to edit my shipping date. I was able to get this pushed by mid June. I was happy and that made my $49 worth while. I missed the delivery guy so he placed all my items at my front door. Everything was intact and perfect condition. Mirror was not even cracked or damaged. Customer service though is lacking. No chat service. And if you do email themit's only directed for Order cancellations. I had other questions and I didnt get answered till weeks later. When the stores opened in July, I was able to find a bookcase that was perfect for my pantry. Was able to apply my Ikea cc promo to my purchases. Prices are affordable, quality products, however more inventory needed on general aisle products in store. Most of my ikea purchases are desks and 20 years later they are still in perfect condition.
Awfully answering! Not responsible for answering. Not meaning guaranty!
Bad installation - long waiting list - loos of product, wait a lot for the missing box
I always knew that not all Ikea products are of a good quality. But it turned out that some of them are totally awful! I bought a little table here a week and yesterday it was broken.
I ordered a feeding chair for my son, and you sent it to me very quickly. The chair was intact and undamaged. Qualitative. I also ordered a children's table. We also really liked him
Nice selection of kitchen hardware, use Ikea's molibden knifes for years. But I have bad experience with furniture, quality is low and for one time use.
Purchased an item had it delivered and parts were missing in which the delivery driver noticed and stated that he would let the warehouse know. No one contacted me so I reached out to ikea who then found out that I was in fact missing parts at which point I just said come get what you have delivered and that I want a refund. The call taker stated ok ill process Your refund but due to COVID we will not be picking up the items. I stated fine I will throw them out as long a I receive my refund. 10 days later no refund was received, attempted to contact them again and was informed that they were missing information which was why I hadn't received a refund. How is that possible when I had been given a claim number but ok I tell them what parts were missing and they said ok ill get this to my manager so that they can get this over to accounting and I will receive my refund in 10 days. It's now been 20 days after the second attempt and still no refund and now no one answers the phone or anything. Robbed by a top consumer. This was my first time purchasing from ikea and my last. Horrible company.
I really needed an extra clothes hanger for my apartment, but needed one that was affordable. I was able to find a great clothes hanger at a great price within minutes of shopping. Thank you, Ikea!
Go there just to have a lot of swedish meatballs xD
What can i do. I am just hooked on it and I am not that interested in the furniture that I am interested in food lol.
Any store that tries to force you to walk the entire store just to get the hell out must be truly a junk store and that is what this place is and is filled with
I purchased some slipcovers that did not fit well. I decided to return them but live far away from an Ikea store. They approved a shipping return and said they would send a return label. Label was supposed to arrive by email within a few days, it did not. After many, many phone calls, it was sent weeks later. Then, no refund was sent after I shipped the slipcovers and they were received by Ikea. Again, the phone calls, where more unfulfilled promises were given. I finally registered a complaint with the BBB, Ikea purported to resolve the issue by saying that they had indeed received the covers, and promised my refund within 5 business days. Those days have passed and no refund, so apparently as well as playing games with me they are thumbing their noses as the BBB. For years I had admired Ikea and loved their stuff, but this experience has really soured me, especially the repeated phone calls where they would promise to take care of me and did not. So currently, they have the covers and I do not have any refund.
Overpriced brand and the quality is not as promised. The staff is not very helpful and polite. There are some items that are worth it, but most are not.
I like their products and I like their retail layout. Not so sure about how busy they are, but I guess that just confirms they are getting something right!
Always good value I can always find nice stuff here, knock-knacks for the home etc, although some stuff can look a bit cheap and cheerful so its worth looking out for there better stuff.
I ordered a high chair a few days ago. It was better pricing than Amazon, or so I thought. $25 plus shipping and tax came out to about $32. The estimated delivery date was today, may 30, Monday. I got an email saying it will be here today by 5pm, and then a text saying it would be here today by 9pm. (?) When I checked the tracking from my original email thanking me for my purchase, it said it won't be here for another 2 days! I called the customer service line and the first lady was apologetic, saying it was coming from FedEx, and she's not sure why, but the order was only just completed today. I asked her the reason and she didn't know. I asked her if I can get a discount for the wait and inconvenience and she transferred me to someone else, saying it was possible to get a discount. The second lady I spoke to was unapologetic and condescending, saying they don't offer discounts for delivery issues, even though it's their fault that the order was only just completed today, on the estimated delivery date. They took no accountability and I am still waiting for my highchair. Amazon would have refunded me my order right now even if I still got the highchair because it is past the expected delivery date. Ikea needs to take accountability.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use, bad customer service, late delivery, don't take accountability

I have shopped at IKEA for several years now. First just office furnishings. Then spare bedroom furniture, pictures, bedding. A lot of choices. Happy with my purchases
Ikea makes it extremely difficult for customers to have a decent experience in their online store. During COVID-19 pandemic they closed all physical stores temporarily, which could mean they would improve their online and phone services to make up for it. But no. Ikea not only continues to have a poorly developed website, with limited options, and confusing descriptions of their policies. The latest surprise I had, when trying to buy a desk for my home office, was that they can only inform you a delivery date AFTER you made the purchase. I decided to give it a try, because I saw the product was available at my local store, and thought it couldn't take too long. I was wrong. I purchased the item today May 2nd, and the delivery date scheduled is JUNE 19th! 47 days to deliver a wood plank and two legs, which are in a store 20 minutes from where I live. I'd have faster shipping even if I bought from China.
Tried several times to call their customer service, and all options I've chosen took me nowhere near to talk to a real person. They all led to a dead end, where they just told me volume of calls is too high, and hung up. It is very frustrating to deal with Ikea EVERY TIME I have any issues like this. Decided to cancel the order, but they have a res big disclaimer saying shipping costs are not reimbursable. What shipping? If they are planning to send me my items im 47 days, I doubt they've had any shipping costs in a couple hours while this all was happening.
Seriously, listen to what I am saying and stay away from IKEA. I know their prices are attractive, but it is not worth the stress.
I ordered few stuff 2 different sizes Pax wardrobe and when I was almost finish building it ( this is the the 100cm length), then I saw the the right under part and other things is broken so it can effect the wardrobe it's self to stand. I called the call center right away to complain about it and they agreed to change the whole package. Then I opened the second package from Pax wardrobe 50cm length and check it right away then I found out exactly the same broken part. It was funny because the broken part it's on the same place but from the packaging doesn't have hole. It means the didn't check it right before the did the packaging and send it to the customers. Then I called the call center again that I want to cancel so they can take the stuff back and the want me to pay for pick up arrangement. It's not my fault that this happens, it's their faults not to check the the goods before they sending it. What kind of service is that? I paid the delivery service it's self already 89,99 euros and now they want me to pay for pick up even though it's not my mistake? Pleas IKEA, if you don't want to get any complain do the quality control correctly. I will not complain if I'm satisfied with the goods but because this is not the first it's happened to me that's why I'm very disappointed and angry. Please be professional taking care of problems from customer. By the way this one is for IKEA GERMANY!
Wanna buy some furniture? That's the place to go. According to some statistics - 80% of children made in Sweden were conseaved on Ikea makeshift furniture
The guy Al at the entrance of the door didn't ask us if he can help us with anything, but he asked a few other couples who entered Ikea after us. But upon leaving he wanted to see our reciept saying he needs his job and has to see our reciept, so my husband said it's an important part of your job to see our reciept, but not to ask us if we need help with anything when we first come in? He said he didn't see us, but how could he not when he was watching us and staring at us as we were walking through the first glass doors, we stopped in the lobby in front of him deciding if we want to eat before shopping and ge was standing 3 feet away watching us. The cashier a middle aged woman who was so rude and kept rushing us along- i'm not sure why because we only had 4 items. No customer service just a rush attitude.
The employees who were really nice and curtious to us were the cashiers at the snack shop on the first floor and tbe security guard.
Also the ceiling near the snack shop on the 1st fl. Needs to be fixed as it was dripping water.
We ordered a mattress, a couch and a coffee table for my son's college apartment on July 23. They initially told us that it would be delivered on August 23. After rearranging my schedule for the 23rd I learned from IKEA's website that it would be delivered on the 24th between 9AM and 9PM. After waiting half of the day on the 24th I heard form the shipper that it would be at least a week and maybe two before it was delivered. We tried to reach IKEA for a week but could never get through. The shipper now says that the earliest it will be delivered is September 8th and might be another week after that. We finally got through to IKEA and they were no help at all.
I thought the stuff I ordered from IKEA was good quality but it took about 2weeks to get it delivered and cost 20% of the goods value. Bit steep and a bit slow
Horrible online experience. Charged $50 for shipping. Sent the wrong products. Couldn't replace them because they were out of stock. Now our outdoor couch has 2 cushions.
My experience with ikea online has been absolutely horrible. Worst online shopping experience I have ever had with any company. I WILL NEVER order anything online with ikea again. First of all I placed an order for an item that was in stock and instead of me actually receiving my item I had my delivery date changed 2 or 3 times. Then the item sold out both online and in my area and I still didn't receive my order. I made my order in August of this year and the status of my order was "in process" for 3 months! When I checked back on my order this mon,(November) I saw that my order had been canceled. I didn't even receive a notification that they were canceling my order. I tried to speak with someone in customer service several times before my item was canceled and all I got was the run around with the automated system. I haven't even been refunded the money for the purchase which is the least you all could do.
This way of handling customers is completely unacceptable. Never... ever... again.
I ordered a bedroom set that was to take a week and a half for delivery. I tried to get expedited delivery but that wasn't an option apparently on this order. The order stated my delivery date and a 12 hour delivery window that was to be shortened to 4 hours (either the day before or day of I can't remember which). So I get a call the day before stating that the delivery was to be pushed to the following day. So basically the day I made 100% available and cancelled all my appointments was for nothing and I now needed to do the same for the following day.
Then 5 minutes later I receive an automated call trying to yet again change my delivery date for 3-7 days out. WTF? So I call in. I explain my situation to 4 different people as I keep getting transferred around. Finally, I am informed that the delivery dates are only preliminary estimates. The outside delivery company deals with that and that I should have read the 12 or so pages of terms and conditions and not just relied on the screen delivery date. Oh... and my delivery fee is non-refundable. Even if I cancel the order for their incompetence, it's non-refundable. What kind of business is this?
