Indeed has a rating of 1.5 stars from 978 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Indeed most frequently mention customer service, small business and employer account. Indeed ranks 132nd among Recruiting sites.
I am a freelance recruiter and was heavily relying on indeed job posting. My account was suddenly paused and I am losing my credibility with my clients. This means if anybody who is a freelancer and earning his bread and butter from freelancing but does not have a company cannot post jobs on indeed. I was already billed for the job posting and before I can download the applications my account was paused, this is totally fraud as they are charging for posting and not letting us to download the applications for which we already paid
One must be registered and logged in to read reviews from (former) employees! Then one can read every review? Not at all! Of course, one must first have written a review themselves to be able to read every review! One also has to enter the email one uses at Indeed to be able to write a review here! Recognize the error...
I look for jobs in Indeed.com but Indeed sends you jobs I don't qualify for and jobs out of state with little pay. If I live in NJ, why will you post jobs in Pennsylvania especially with low pay. Do you know tolls aren't free and the traffic commuting back and forth is terrible. We should have the opportunity to choose state I want to work for as my options. I think Indeed sends any job so it can show they send something. Indeed needs to fix this. Oh by the way, I don't need jobs 1 an hour and a half away if I specified a 25 mile radius.
Hi Bibi,
We recommend using a Boolean search to get more relevant results. We would advise checking out our Career Guide page: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice, there are some great resources here that will assist with all areas of your job search.

Candidates were not qualified. Those that were qualified were largely unresponsive to interview requests yet. I paid for a sponsored post so i was charged for every resume that I did not reject within the 72 hour review period. Most of the unqualified candidates were able to be flushed out prior to the review period. However, we moved forward with and were charged for 12 candidates. 10 of the 12 candidates were either unresponsive after some contact, and some were completely unresponsive from the outset. Save your money and don't post here.
Hi Lori, we are very sorry to hear about this experience, the 72 hour review period is in place to allow you to reject any candidates that do not meet your requirements so you will not be charged for them. Unfortunately, we cannot control if a candidate responds to messages, this is entirely their responsibility.
I've used Indeed but never found a job from using the site. Many of the jobs advertised were closed or filled when I applied. It was better for me to go directly to the employer. I wouldn't recommend for a job seeker.
Hi, to search and apply for jobs on Indeed, please visit www.indeed.com/worldwide and select the country of your choosing. You can then enter the type of job you are looking for in the "What" box and the location in the "Where" box.

While Indeed isn't directly involved in the hiring process, we recommend checking out this resource on our Career Guide about what to do if you're not hearing back from employers: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice/finding-a-job/what-to-do-if-you-arent-hearing-back-from-employers

As the title says, I tried to post a job for the restaurant I'm working on opening and was asked to call to verify the account before the post could be made live. Ok, no problem: I call and go through the questions (answering everything correctly, because it's my business and I had just tried to put the listing up the night before) and was told within an hour of the call that my account would be verified. Instead within 30 seconds of hanging up I received 3 emails from indeed: a welcome email saying my account was verified, an anniversary email (weird), and an email saying my account was locked with a link to appeal (that doesn't work and constantly reloads the page).
We are a new small business employing front of house and kitchen staff. Our account was suspended without any prior guidance giving us a chance rectify whatever their issue is with our posts. Hopeful applicants are also left on standby. This is not professional or fair for employers or potential employees. Indeed really needs to review the way they deal with their account members.
Hello Geo, thank you for reaching out. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message. Please follow up with us there so we can further assist.
I am a small business owner that has a group therapy private practice using Indeed to hire new clinicians with. My account was active, then hours later my account was disabled for no reason at all. I was not given an explanation or any additional information. Really disappointed that indeed would prevent mental health business services during a mental health crisis because of the pandemic.
EDIT: Indeed replied that they are working on my appeal but i'm back to edit the comment to let everyone know Indeed is lying. They responded with "It appears that your request may require specialized attention and our Client Success team can better assist you. Please view our Help Center for further assistance with this issue." They provided no assistance, no call back number, and told me to purchase insurance for my company, and then when I did, they told me they won't accept it. Indeed owes me money and an explanation... This is straight theft!
Hi Brittany. We are sorry to hear that this was your experience. This appears to be in relation to Indeed's appeal process. All Indeed accounts are reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for to protect the job seeker as well as the employer. We are happy to go into more detail and to better assist you directly, so we have reached out to you directly via private message. We look forward to hearing from you!
As a small business owner, i recently post positions on indeed, and today they blocked me. "Your account has been disabled".
For WHAT? "not consistent with Indeed's quality standards." WHAT standards? They won't tell.
During this pandemic i could not believe they do this to support the economy, unbelievable.
Hi Zeheng, we are very sorry to hear about your poor experience with Indeed. We have sent you a private message to further assist.
Started using Indeed to recruit an increasing sales force. Spent hours navigating the site and creating job postings and even sponsored one job while posting 4 others using free service. Despite having my name, email, 30 year old business, Palazzo Realtors, LLC, my credit card and cell phone validated my jobs were suspended. When I appealed and asked why they took emailed me with a rejection email and no explanation. I called the company and was told that I could continue to email the "final decision" email. This company obviously is discriminating against a female owned and operated small business!
Hi Rhonda, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. All accounts on Indeed go through a standard reviewing process. This review can happen at any time as well. Unfortunately, Indeed has fully reviewed your account and we are unable to show your listings on the site and the account will remain in its disabled status. Indeed or Publishers may reject or remove any Job Ad, and Indeed may disable any Employer’s account, for any or no reason without notice. Although Indeed may indicate why a job or account has been removed or disabled, we cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. If you have urgent hiring needs, we recommend utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.
Answer: Hi Sarah, we're sorry you haven't heard back from employers when submitting your resume on Indeed. We'd be happy to assist you here in reviewing your resume and offering suggestions for applying to jobs on the site. Please email us at sitejabber@indeed.com with a link to your Indeed Resume or document so that we can review. Thank you.
Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
Answer: Hi Kristina, feel free to email our team at sitejabber@indeed.com with some additional details regarding your concerns and we'd be happy to take a look. Please be sure to reference this interaction in your email. Thank you.
Answer: Hi Irene, to explain, all accounts on Indeed go through a moderation process as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. If enough information is not provided when the account is being created or we find a violation of our guidelines, then the account will go into the appeal status. Based on your message, this is likely what you are currently experiencing. If you need assistance, feel free to email our team at sitejabber@indeed.com and we'd be happy to take a look. Please be sure to reference this interaction in your email.

Hi Justin, when viewing company page reviews, you can only see a certain amount before you will be prompted to leave a review for that company. To see more reviews, you must write one. We do apologize for any inconvenience. We would be happy to pass along your feedback about this!
