Why do you ned an account to send a resume? Between apps and accounts I am not interested, I'll stay unemployed and on welfare.
They make you jump through hoops to get your account active, and then can just disable it with no reason as to why. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars with them, and they wont tell me anything. I have used the same ad. I get the same people applying over and over, so I reject them so I dont have to pay for them. Indeed is a joke
My company has been doing business with Indeed since 2018. They were a smaller company and had great customer service. There was an incident where we were overcharged by about $900 and were issued a refund quickly and with an apology. Since then we were noticing changes within the company and used Indeed only as needed for immediate hiring (via resume search option). Just recently I logged in to access their free job posting option and it was flagged immediately. I then attempted to subscribe to the resume search option and was unable to submit payment. Eventually after trying to find out what was going on I came across a page that notified me that my account had been deactivated and had not receive notice or a reason for this. There was no way to appeal as others have here have mentioned. I have attempted to reach Indeed three separate times to resolve the issue and they have completely ignored me. As a small business owner I cannot afford to wait around until I receive a response. Every day that passes we are missing opportunities to find candidates and are very close to switching to Ziprecruiter or another hiring platform with reliable customer service. Your lack of professionalism and commitment to fixing this well documented problem is absolutely appalling! I am more than happy to speak to customer service though you don't even have a phone number to call. I sincerely hope to hear back from your staff as it seems we are close to done with Indeed for good.
Hi Tara, thanks for reaching out! Taking a further look into this, we can confirm that a refund for the amount you are speaking about was processed on the account back in 2018. We are sorry to hear about your attempts to contact Indeed. We understand your concerns about the account. Indeed does have an employer helpline which you can call using the phone number on this article from our public employer help center: https://indeed.force.com/employerSupport1/s/article/207325006?language=en_CA. Availability times and days are on the article as well! Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback.
This has happened to me on more than one occasion but at different companies. I posted ads that were not on a budget then were billed for them. I had no idea they were billing until I received the invoices. I am currently disputing all of the invoices in which I did NOT sponsor the jobs. After this happening twice to me now, I will NOT be using Indeed anymore. I would highly recommend that if you do use Indeed, that you monitor your ads consistently every 30 minutes of the day as someone working there is going in and switching to sponsored to collect money. I was billed over $1500 in 3 days.
Hi Bobbi,
We are sorry to hear about this negative experience with Indeed. We have reached out via PM, please respond there if further assistance is needed. Thank you!
With no warning our account has been disabled. After 7 years, thousands of pounds a month advertising via Indeed in the UK and USA and our account is shut down with no reason. Its been 4 days- no update, no reasoning? We have now lost money, had to push back a new campaign launch due to NO candidates and had to pause a separate Geo campaign we have running jointly with Glassdoor/Indeed. (More fool us). No one seems to be able to help us? Terrible service. Do your research.
Hi Bonnie, taking a further look into this, we can confirm that the account holder is in direct contact with the dedicated representatives assigned to the account in question. They will continue to assist the account holder with this issue. Thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback.
I received the following message at my subscription "This account is currently under review, per Indeed's messaging quality guidelines. The recruiter must submit an appeal before they can contact candidates using this subscription." Indeed does not offer a warning to correct any violations that may be being made to the guidelines or procedures. Neither email nor promted is received to the log-in to inform in detail of the suspension or process. Employer Help Center has no data related to procedures in this situation. Customer Success Specialists are not trained to provide details or procedures.
Hi Karelyn, to explain, besides all jobs and accounts on Indeed being moderated to ensure our guidelines are being followed, it is the same for the usage of our resume database. All messages on Indeed are moderated and if there is a violation, the employer will be blocked. Here is more information about our resume guidelines: https://indeed.force.com/employerSupport1/s/article/360015376251?language=en_US. When an employer is blocked, they will need to submit an appeal which is available on the page that notifies them they are blocked. Once submitted, our moderation team will assist. In this case, we can see that your account representatives are already in contact with you to assist with this issue and they will continue to provide help. We have also passed along your outreach here on Sitejabber. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
I am a startup and had my account disabled a one day after as I posted 6 positions in a row. Told me to submit documentation, which I provided my payslip to them. Now because of that I am unable to find candidates for my employer and cannot fill those positions.
When you are a new business and theses barracudas are saying stuff like that it can damage you:
"As I cannot get jobs listed anywhere.
I don't how other companies account are being managed by indeed.
They don't even deserve a single star for this pathetic Customer Service
Hi Omair,
We are sorry to hear about your experience!
To explain, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met.
Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest.
The documents provided do not meet the requirements to verify your account. This is due to the document being a payslip.
Please provide our moderation team with a scan or image of one of the documents they specifically requested.
Best regards,
The Indeed Team
We have used Indeed to hire candidates across Canada and the US. We spend ~$2,500 per month with Indeed. Today they suspended our account without any rationale why. When we appealed we were rejected without any rationale. This is incredibly frustrating as Indeed is one of our main sources of candidates.
Let me start this review by saying we have used indeed for several years and have spent many thousands of dollars sponsoring ads in the past. Recently, our account was disabled and when my team reached out on several occasions to verify why this action took place. For about 2 weeks, Indeed relayed that it was not even listed in our account, the reason for our suspension. After the 2 weeks of back and forth, they finally advised us that it was for suspicious activity and I advised I would submit company information to verify our legitimacy, even though we were partners with indeed for YEARS. We submitted the documentation and we were still advised that the decision was final. We reached back out after this, and multiple Indeed reps advised the only way to fix this situation was to create another indeed account. Which I relayed would not fix the situation as it would be tied to our old account that was just suspended. They advised this was the only action, so my team prepared to create another account and was successful. Within an hour, our account was taken down as well, with no reason listed AGAIN.
This is completely unacceptable, as we had years worth of data on our first account, that now we cannot even access. It makes no sense either, that Indeed is specifically asking to make additional accounts when they will just be taken down anyway. Instead of just working with the account that is already around and has been there for several years.
Hi Tim, all accounts and jobs are subject to our standard reviewing process. The account has gone through our reviewing process and our team has concluded that we will not show these openings in our search results. The account will remain in its current disabled status. As the account has been disabled by Indeed you do not have the option to post a new position. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. If you have urgent hiring needs, we highly suggest utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Our dental laboratory business has been advertising on Indeed for over 6 years.
One week ago, without warning, Indeed disabled our account. We appealed the decision providing our incorporation documents and recent bills. We were denied the appeal without any explanation.
We called Customer Service and we were advised that there is no explanation, but that this sometimes just happens. They recommended us to open a new account.
We followed this suggestion and opened a new account. Within ten minutes, the new account was disabled as well.
We called again and the employee apologized and said he was embarrassed for the way the company is treating us. But he had no advice. I feel like I am stuck in a Kafka novel.
I am writing to help alert employers that Indeed can act in a capricious manner that is reminiscent of a monopoly.
Hi Isaac, your account is going through our standard review process. It is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. If enough information is not provided when the account is being created or we find a violation of our job posting guidelines, then the account will go into the appeal status that you're now experiencing.
In this case, we see that an appeal was submitted on the account and our moderation team has already emailed you back requesting additional information about your business. You will need to follow up with them directly via that email chain in order to move forward with the review process. Please respond back to them only and check your email inbox for any emails from employersupport@indeed.com. Double-check your spam/junk folder as well since sometimes our emails can be sent there as well. Thank you!
Keeps disabling my posted job with no reason. I posted a normal job, I myself is employer with phone number and all documents. But it was cancelled

The jobs and the salaries listed for this website for different job listings here in Florida are so low to where no one can make a living working for low wages on any job listing through indeed.com. No matter what job is listed the jobs are not worth applying for plus they don't pay enough to have any form of living. Appearantly on this website they don't seem to get that the cost of living is high here in Florida and the wages seen on job listings pay so low that a person would live back in the early 2000's and back. They need to ensure they are listing pay to be up to date with the cost of living. Plus you don't hear back from any of these employers.
Hi! Indeed does not create jobs on behalf of an employer, the content on a job posting is entered directly by the employer. When you apply for a job posting on Indeed, your information is sent directly to the employer, subject to Indeed's Terms of Service. Indeed does not screen candidates on behalf of employers so we cannot say why an individual employer may not respond to an application you submitted.
While Indeed is not directly involved in the hiring process, we advise checking out our Career Guide page: https://www.indeed.com/career-advice, there are some great resources here that will assist with all areas of your job search!
We posted job ads on indeed for Realestate acquisitions department and then our account got disabled. We had over 100 interviews scehduled for our company and next thing you know our account got disabled. And then afterwards they charged us even after our account was disabled? Thats not right

As a job seeker I used Indeed for a few years. Recently I became an employer in need of staff. Because I already had an Indeed account I decided to post it through there. Almost immediately I was instructed to call in to verify my account. I called in and verified all of the information with the phone rep, twice. I was told that everything was okay and I would get an email when my post was published. The email I got was my account was blocked! Not only blocked but they want very specific information on the business, which I'm not comfortable doing since NO other provider asks for such documents to post a job. Called back and was told there is nothing they can do. Save your time and post your jobs on a site that will help you meet your staffing needs
Hi Brandon, to explain, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. To proceed with the review process, we recommend submitting the appeal through your account. It is important to note that this appeal will not guarantee visibility on the site. Please note that the review process typically takes 1 to 3 business days and our team will contact you when they have an update, or if they need additional information.
I had used the free trial for listing jobs and I switched my job description to 'paused'. Indeed were still charging me for this. I have been charged £23 and I have to pay another £39 on the next invoice.
I have received zero successful candidates and I was not notified of any fees. What's even worse than this, is that I was still getting charged whilst having my Job on hold after 4 days of no candidates.
Hi Anmol, we are very sorry to hear about your poor experience with Indeed. We have sent you a private message to further assist.
I went through the prompts and created an ad to hire an administrative assistant for my company. I took the time to be detailed posting as much information as possible about the position, the pay and the requirements. I put up with their constant marketing emails as I decided if their $15 per applicant was worth the money considering the applicant may not actually show up. Having decided no one could control that I pulled the trigger and it asked me to verify my company via a bill or some sort of document. I chose our insurance and within minutes the account was completely disabled without any explanation what so ever. I appealed the decision and have yet to hear from them and definitely not in the same time frame that they chose to disable my account. Given the many choices out their for hiring you would think that they would take this many bad reviews as a sign that their generic email they send informing you of your account being disabled would have some sort of explanation so corrective actions could be taken. Lets just say Im not impressed at all with their process and I'm thankful I this happened early on instead of in the middle of the hiring process as many have also complained about.
Hello Jared, a member of our team has responded to your review by private message. Please follow up with us there so we can further assist.
Yeah. This is a total scam. If you do not add a budget it would seem they are unwilling to proceed. We had a very successful turn with our ad. - hired 3 people. Went in to do another ad and it was held. Next came the suspension followed by the appeal, followed by the rejection. We submitted all the required documentation and they rejected it again. We included MULTIPLE locations where our business can be found both online and brick/mortar, industry write-ups/reviews recently received and they rejected it again.
Now, clearly, they don't want us. We hire IC and employees - globally. We pay hourly + bonus and contract. Everything is within guidelines and their TOS. Someone should really do something about this company with this many complaints about the same thing, why not just say it: "WE DO NOT OFFER FREE JOB POSTING" and be done with it?
You have wasted valuable time and we are never going to use your service and will continue to tell anyone who will listen what a terrible business ethic you operate under with a clear unstable moral compass. Other should know before wasting their time crafting a great ad.
We would like to provide some clarification here. All accounts and jobs go through our standard reviewing process before they can become fully active on our site. The account has gone through our reviewing process and our team has concluded that we will not be able to show these openings in our search results.
This is a final decision that will not be reversed. If you have urgent hiring needs, we highly suggest utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
This used to be a great company but had become a money grab. I spent some much time putting together the job post based on THEIR guidelines. After reviewing some of the candidates, I received this message with no further explanation!
Your ability to post jobs on Indeed.com has been disabled.
At this time your employer account has been disabled and you will not be able to post any additional jobs to Indeed.com. If you believe this is a mistake and would like to appeal this decision, please contact us.

Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
