Indeed has a rating of 1.5 stars from 978 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Indeed most frequently mention customer service, small business and employer account. Indeed ranks 132nd among Recruiting sites.
We are a newly opened bar and grill trying to hire staff and Indeed suspended my employer profile with no warning or explanation whatsoever. This seems to be a common occurrence for Indeed as this is not the first review that reflects these practices. Why is Indeed bullying small businesses? Must be the $$ they get from corporate restaurants for premium job postings that they give them "a little extra" by suppressing the little guys. What a pitiful service
Like many, after posting a job offer, and accumulating candidates, we got an email saying our ability to post jobs is disabled (along with all the applications to the job.)
We tried appealing that, providing all the documentation requested, and got hit with this:
"It appears that your request may require specialized attention and our Client Success team can better assist you. Please view our Help Center for further assistance with this issue."
Guess what? There is no way to reach the mythical client success team if your Employer account is disabled.
Also, after they sent that message to you, they will ignore any further communication from you.
Just abysmal. Stay away.
Hi Khalifa, we are very sorry to hear of this experience, a member of our team has reached out to you by private message to assist you with this.
I have used indeed for many years throughout my time as a recruiter, since setting up my own Ltd company I had created an indeed account, sent in all required documentation, posted my jobs and sponsored them, only to have my account disabled, I've appealed the decision twice, emailed them 3 times and called them twice and still have no reason or resolution in place. This has been going on for 8 days. Will move to zip recruiter and not use indeed any longer.
Hi Georgia. Thank you for reaching out to bring your experience to our attention. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our team has reached out to you via private message to best assist. We look forward to hearing from you!
Indeed can allow your job offer to be seen (or not) - it's all a game played depending on how much money you pay. They can stop it from being seen if too many people "click" or if you simply don't spend enough money daily. Many job seekers use this site, so it can still be beneficial - providing you spend enough money daily. One great thing about Indeed is that you can request that applicants do some testing before they are considered for your open position through Indeed, with no extra cost. So, if you need, for example, "attention to detail" you can see how an applicant scores in that area right up front. Bad news is, plenty of applicants are too lazy to do the tests - no fault of Indeed, just the way of the world today.
Hi June, thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us! We wish you the best of luck in your recruiting process.
Tried many other places like LinkedIn, Glassdoor + even posting on Craigslist. Get the most candidates and best qualified candidates. It work well. Only glitch is you have to always communicate via Indeed masked email account even at the very final stages of process, these emails sometimes go to spam, which is frustrating.
This has always been one of my top search engines for new jobs, it pools together all the roles you need.
But overtime I've noticed this company has fallen down a bit. They spam your emails, texts, and even WhatsApp and it's quite difficult to turn off.
There's some bugs and issues with the app too and sometimes it makes me feel that there are better alternatives.
You're still good, Indeed, but I think you need to pull it together before you slip even further.
Hi Emilia, we want to make sure job seekers are having a safe experience with Indeed. For this reason, contact information is only shared with employers when users apply for their positions or users accept their contact through our resume database. Otherwise, this information is hidden. If you suspect the communication you have been receiving is a result of a job you applied for on Indeed, feel free to reach out at socialcare@indeed.com. Thank you.
Indeed is a platform that allows employers and employees to contact one another. I have had a positive experience finding my first job I could actually call a career from here, but other than that job, I haven't had as much luck.
There are some questionable jobs out there. The worst are the headhunters, usually for a major company. They are all offering the same job across several networks and claiming varying pay rates.
The assessments are actually fun, though. This is a big step up from Craigslist, and WAY better than Monster. USAJobs could learn a thing or 69 from Indeed.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Jesse, we are glad to hear you had a positive experience. If you come across any jobs that you are concerned about on Indeed feel free to send us more details to socialcare@indeed.com, we would be happy to check them out for you!
I feel utterly helpless, and increasingly frustrated! I have logged on to Indeed, assuming I could place my adverts (with no time to spare as re opening after a long lock down) only to discover my employers account has been disabled again!
I have spent an hour attempting to find a way to communicate and failed miserably!
The 1st time was due to an accidental recruitment Bill running during the 1st lock down (which we paid in full) however reluctantly. But at least knew why! We were then re connected. To only discover yet again when I need them most! Disabled.
Hey come on guys... you're supposedly a professional service, non of your contact numbers are live either. We have used your company for well over 5 years and have a lot of important information on here. You can see we are legitimate! Please help me here!?
Hi Jane. We'd like to look into this situation further with you. Please email us at sitejabber@indeed.com and be sure to reference this review. We look forward to assisting you.
Have been using Indeed for fulfilling our Company hiring needs for about 3 years, Suddenly, without any explanation or valid reason, Indeed has disabled my employer account. We have never misused Indeed in any way, I have so many pending hirings lined up which i need to complete asap. I'm extremely disappointed from this site. Really awful experience.
Hi Baidehi, thanks for reaching out. To provide some clarity, all accounts and jobs are subject to our standard rolling reviewing process that can occur at any time. Our team has concluded that Indeed will be unable to show your openings in our search results. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you have urgent hiring needs, we suggest utilizing other hiring services.
Just another small business not allowed to thrive on your site. Following guidelines and sponsoring an ad is not enough for indeed apparently. I am a recruiting agency hiring for a for profit marketing company working exclusively in the nonprofit sector - therefore charities and hospitals for fundraising. Indeed disabled my account with no notice or explanation and then proceed to reject an appeal within a matter of 2 minutes! I have been using them for 4 months now continuously paying for a service. I am deeply saddened by the customer service provided, as there is none.
Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.
Answer: Hi Sarah, we're sorry you haven't heard back from employers when submitting your resume on Indeed. Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
Answer: Hi Kristina, feel free to email our team at sitejabber@indeed.com with some additional details regarding your concerns and we'd be happy to take a look. Please be sure to reference this interaction in your email. Thank you.
Answer: Hi Irene, to explain, all accounts on Indeed go through a moderation process as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. Based on your message, this is likely what you are currently experiencing. If you need assistance, feel free to email our team at sitejabber@indeed.com and we'd be happy to take a look.
