Indeed has a rating of 1.5 stars from 978 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Indeed most frequently mention customer service, small business and employer account. Indeed ranks 132nd among Recruiting sites.
The Indeed customer care review was unfriendly, useless and not at all helpful. Again, our judgment that this site and service is
1) Unfriendly
2) Shoddy and Scam
3) Useless & Unhelpful
Still remains. We strongly advise you to stay away from this business. Read google reviews and you will realize the issue that this business is a SCAM and a SHAM.
Our Company was founded by a 74 yr old reputable founder and Indeed took the money after promising to advertise for Sales Executives. After 2 weeks, the Company disabled the account without giving proper explanation and support.
Most of the service rendered was from fake insurance sales profiles and all of them do not exist when contacted. Indeed and its team did not even provide any refund, APOLOGY and some of its staff members were outrageously rude, impolite and uncourteous in their interaction over the phone.
Indeed did contact me after I posted this negative review. They said they wanted to help me "understand" how their billing works. That wasn't the issue, it was that they promised me something and then proceeded to overbill me. To their credit, they did refund me, and I consider the matter closed now. Funny thing is, that they would have gotten off cheaper if they had just worked with me to begin with. They need to empower their agents to do the right thing.
Posted a job on 6/17/2017 expecting a cost per click of $. 50-$1.25 since those were their advertised averages.
On 7/24/17 I reviewed the bill and saw I was getting charged a lot more than that. $3.80 per click on average.
I had a good exchange on IM with a rep that said that they wouldd permanently cap the "overbilling" and make the cost per click permanently lower in the range I was expecting.
I reviewed the billing again on 9/6/17, and not only did the cost per click not go down, it actually went up!
After making a good faith effort to resolve the billing issue, they confusingly stated they could not give me a refund for the over billing and would only offer a credit against future clicks. That wasn't acceptable since I hadn't had any qualified applicants so far and wanted to close the ad.
I spoke with a rep and their manager and couldn't get a refund despite being 100% indisputably correct. I had even saved a copy of the IM exchange so that I could prove my story true if needed.
Now, I will be forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company and face possible legal and collection issues because of THEIR dishonesty and unfair business practices.
I have utilized the pay as you go/per click service for almost a year, I have horrible access, get locked out, have blank pages load and no billing assistance. As I call for service, I get bombarded with Indeeds sales people trying to upgrade my service for BETTER service - II just want what I have been paying for to work. And it doesn't. They just want to upsell you by ticking you off with the lower cost programs. Stay away.
I'm a small mental health private practice and opened up earlier this year. I set up an account with indeed and it was working for the first two to three months until suddenly they disabled my account, completely out of nowhere. They seem to be targeting small businesses that can't afford to spend lots of money on their site. I did try the sponsor job one time, and it was trash. All the candidates I got and that they were asking me to pay for we're so irrelevant to the job posting that I had up that it was ridiculous to ask me to pay for such a stupid service. So all the job postings that I posted afterwards we're definitely not sponsored, and now I'm so glad I didn't give them any of my hard earned money! And don't even waste your time trying to appeal, they don't even look at it and within a day they'll send you back an email stating that decision is permanent but they still won't give a reason as to why. The site is trash now, it used to be good but it's totally trash now. Don't waste your time, go to better job posting boards like LinkedIn. All indeed does is scrape other job boards & websites anyway, so when you post on the other job boards your job will likely still end up on indeed without you having to deal with indeed directly. They are absolutely terrible, don't do it. Run!
Hi, thanks for reaching out. To provide some clarity, all accounts and jobs on Indeed are subject to our standard rolling reviewing process that can occur at any time. Our team has concluded that Indeed will be unable to show your openings in our search results and the account will remain in its current disabled status. As the account has been disabled by Indeed you do not have the option to post a new position. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have urgent hiring needs, we highly suggest utilizing other hiring services.
We are a nation wide company that is in business for more than 30 years. Our account was suspended and we were told they do not allow MLM ads. Theproblem with their answer is the fract we are NOT a MLM. We actually hire emplyees, telemarketers and sales people. No one in indeed will listen.
I had two company accounts disabled, did not do anything wrong in my eyes. The must have some ridiculous algorithms working in the background. Difficult to reach them to clarify.

Most websites authenticate email addresses used to leave reviews of companies. Most websites will send a code to the email address provided to authenticate that the email address is valid before allowing a review to be posted. INDEED DOES NOT. Never take any review as credible when researching a company. You will be scammed with illegitimate reviews that were never authorized. BEWARE!
Hi Sheri, we have responded to your review by private message. Please follow up there if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Before the Christmas period I put up several jobs for the company I work for. Every job I put up was taken down and I can no longer even post jobs! I have sent multiple email's without response and I need this issue fixed asap but I am unable to do so as there is no live chat or telecom center.
Update:
After talking to staff from indeed I now understand why my account was suspended but what bothered me in the first place is that I was given no notice, No email or anything from indeed saying your account was suspended for such and such, I do appreciate the customer service I received via email and I now understand that I was in the wrong.
Thank you Dorit.
Hello Zack, sorry for the poor experience. We have reached out to you through email to assist. Thank you.
I got emails from an *******@outlook.com and they began using poor punctuation and spelling and asking for money and for me to do things for them they also asked me for my full name and address so they can send me a money order to compete these tasks I automatically geeky eerie and gave my previous address just to see what was going to be said and like I thought it was a big time scam my advice is go not upload your resume to indeed jobs website
I questioned the terms of service contract I had to agree too. (Section 9c). This is the email I received back from my sales rep:
You're not in any binding contract! This is the slides that we have to pitch and I have
Never had a client sign this and ever pay more. If it is more than 10% on the initial hire then you can have this email
And pitch slideshow showing what you were told... If you need more than that, there is nothing that I can do. I don't
Do business this way and I wouldn't be working for a company that didn't have principles and honor what we say!
Hi Vicki, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We would like to learn more about this situation and we have sent you a private message. We look forward to hearing from you.
I tried posting a job from my account and I am now disabled to post any job and I don't even know why! I tried to appeal that and still my issue is not solved. I work for a recruiting company and I need to post jobs but I can't and I don't even know why! FYI I'm still new to this platform how would I know the reason behind it. And logically if I knew I wouldn't do it.!
Hi Hadil, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. All accounts on Indeed go through a standard reviewing process. This review can happen at any time as well. Unfortunately, Indeed has fully reviewed your account and we are unable to show your listings on the site and the account will remain in its disabled status. Indeed or Publishers may reject or remove any Job Ad, and Indeed may disable any Employer’s account, for any or no reason without notice. Although Indeed may indicate why a job or account has been removed or disabled, we cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. If you have urgent hiring needs, we recommend utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
I had 14 applications. Arranged 7 interviews and all but one cancelled at the last minute. The 1 guy who attended interviews lied so much on his CV he could not answer questions

Indeed has been the highest return on investment. It attracts a lot of potential candidates and its advertising model is works perfect for businesses of all sizes.
Thank you so much for the positive feedback!
I completely disappointed that Indeed has willingly taken my money for all previous posts, but then randomly disabled my employer account with no reasoning and of course I cannot get a response back.

Just as I was about to interview my applicants, they disabled my account without giving a reason. How unprofessional. Makes my company looks bad for disappearing on the candidates (because we can no longer reach them) and throws away all the work they've put into their applications which is a terrible/disrespectful thing to do. They mentioned low quality standards for listings as potential reasons, well this is another type of low standard. Just horrid.
Don't pay, even employers who've paid for their services get this type of treatment.
Edit:
I do understand that as I am using Indeed's platform that Indeed would reserve the right to make decisions on my account. However, I feel that there is a certain level of social responsibility involved in making these decisions when a company such as Indeed reaches a certain size and becomes a platform that many prospective employers and employees rely on for their living/livelihood. I also feel a quite blindsided/treated unfairly in regards to how this matter was handled and it puts to waste a lot of the work the candidates and my company have put into this endeavour, not only making them feel ignored/perhaps even inadequate but making me look bad as a firm for being unprofessional/unable to reach them.
It would have made more sense if they had concerns about the listing to give us a chance to make the changes rather than say that they allowed 3 appeals through their system without even telling us (and I basically sent the same message 3 times thinking it might not have gone through) and just close off the account. It's simply lazy and negligent.
Hi Sam, thanks for reaching out to share your experience. We followed up with you via private message.
Virtually ZERO customer service. Impossible to reach anyone.
Website is painfully slow. Our account is disabled for more than 30 hours, not even one person there to help. Worst job portal.
Hello Reena, thank you for following up here. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message. We have also requested that your account representative connects with you as soon as possible.
If you are a employer, BEWARE! I set a daily limit of $15 per day for my ad, but was charged as much as $35 per day ($142 total), only got 3 candidates, none of which where nearly qualified. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! I ran the same ad on Craigslist, and got multiple qualified applicants. Thought INDEED would produce better results, disappointed and will never use them again.
UPDATE! Indeed contacted me and we right away, and they were very helpful, and we reached a settlement that I am Happy with!
Hi Fred, sorry for the negative experience with Indeed. We've reached out to you directly to help. Thank you
I'm quite sure that either there is problem with your search engine, or it is intended behavior to just maximize profit - i. E. just generate clicks even though the search may not be relevant at all.
Indeed only charges employers for sponsored traffic to their positions. We do not generate clicks to maximize profit, as each click to a position on Indeed is a unique click made by a job seeker. We also do not charge for multiple clicks made by the same user or clicks that are a result of a job listed in the organic section on the site.
No one is serious about the position. I get a bunch of no shows, and welfare-dependent applicants who just need to have "proof" they are looking for a job.
Hi Charlene, sorry that you've had a poor experience with Indeed. We would definitely like to help improve your results and help you find qualified applicants who are interested in your position. If there is anything we can do to help, please call our employer help line at 1-800-462-5842 or email me directly at sitejabber@indeed.com. Thank you.
Indeed.com paves the way for agencies seeking to gain information from the highly vulnerable public. This site is crap, very scam friendly! I was eagerly looking for a job like most Of the U. S unemployed population. Came across an office assistant position which later turned into a '"work from home " job. I Was emailed and asked to set up a yahoo messenger ap to conduct an online "interview" which was just used to gain personal info. BE WEARY OF THESE SITES, DO NOT FALL PREY TO THESE SCAM ARTISTS!'
Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.

Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
