Indeed has a rating of 1.5 stars from 933 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Indeed most frequently mention customer service, small business and employer account. Indeed ranks 132nd among Recruiting sites.
After leaving a review here, we were contacted by Indeed and after a few emails back and forth they were able to send our case to review and the block was lifted. I still have no idea why it happened in the first place but we are very grateful to be able to contact possible hires again. Thanks!
Our office has been using Indeed for over 2 years and we are currently hiring for 4 different positions. In fact, I recently sent out about 15 different emails of interest in to people who had posted their resumes through Indeed and went back Friday to send more when I found out our account has been disabled from contacting individuals on Indeed? An email appeal since I have no idea why this happened ended up with the same reply that others have received- that they won't lift the suspension (?!?) and no further appeals will be considered or responded to.
I have worked on hiring at this office for the better part of a decade and never encountered anything like this? We hired our last Physician Assistant (we are a small primary care medical practice) thanks to Indeed but I guess we can't use them anymore as there is no real way to contact them except through email which we've already tried. I'm at a real loss, always like Indeed until now and as we are really in a hiring crunch and the complete lack of explanation or warning of this suspension has left us stunned. I've got 4 positions to fill and no time to waste so I guess it's time to try other services?
In conclusion, Indeed is great until it's not and you'll never know when that will be.
I just received this email after appealing indeed account disable decision. This is ridiculous as Indeed was not going to give any guidance on what we did that makes our account unsuitable for them.

Thank you for contacting Indeed. We have reviewed your account and have found it to be unsuitable for Indeed.
For your reference, we have linked Indeed's Terms of Service and Job Posting Guidelines.
Please note that your account currently is not accruing costs and this is a final decision. No further action is required on your part. No additional details regarding this decision will be provided. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thank you,
Indeed
Hi Soji, all accounts and jobs are subject to our standard reviewing process. The account has gone through our reviewing process and our team has concluded that we will not show these openings in our search results. The account will remain in its current disabled status. As the account has been disabled by Indeed you do not have the option to post a new position. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. If you have urgent hiring needs, we highly suggest utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Indeed was able to resolve the issue. One of the accounts has been re-activated, the second should also be soon, I sent the required document today.
The issue seems to be the lack of clarity and feedback received, when they initially vet documents to approve an account. The message received in response offers no clarity on what the issue was with the document submitted.
The way to sort this out appears to be contacting them on here or via Facebook chat. Thank indeed in happy with the outcome.
Thanks for working with our team on this, Ronny. We're happy we were able to assist. Feel free to reach back out if we can be of further assistance!
It appears this is a common problem, I have seen other complaints in line with this. Is there a solution to this. Is there a worthwhile alternative possibly?
As the appeal process clearly doesn't shed any insight neither do the terms and conditions
I am a small business, I was looking to hire 2 apprentices. Indeed disabled my account. They gave me a chance to appeal and then sent me a standard email about me being a pyramid scheme.
I set up a different account, with a different apprentice role. They disabled my account with the same standard email about being a pyramid scheme. The second time I sent more information and broke down my business. They still rejected it.
This has wasted much time, but what's worse is they never investigated anything.
As many others have already stated, we've been a paid user of Indeed for some time. Suddenly, our account is suspended and no reason given as to why. Asked why and they tell us it's been reviewed and no further action or appeal may be taken. Yet they took our money at the beginning of the month like clockwork! I suppose they make a good bit of extra profit charging you for a month then canceling you with no reason. What a crappy level of customer service! I'm going to make it my mission to send/post this information as many places as I can. Thanks for being completely unhelpful Indeed!
Hi Cathy, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We'd like to look into this further for you. We've sent you a private message and we look forward to hearing from you.
You have disabled my account with no reason. I'm happy to resolve the issue, not given me the option. I rely on indeed - please re unable my account ASAP

I was told the below:
Thank you for your time and patience while we reviewed your Indeed account.
After further review, the decision has been made that your job postings cannot be shown on Indeed. For your reference, please see Indeed's terms of service(https://www.indeed.co.uk/legal?hl=en&redirect=true#tos) and our Job Posting Best Practices.
No further action is required on your part. No additional details regarding this decision have been provided. I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Best regards,

I have had 14 people apply for the Writer position for my startup company. I've also had several apply for the Web Designer position for the company. For the Writer position, I have emailed five candidates telling them I am interested in interviewing them. However, because Indeed has disabled my account, four of the five candidates I have emailed for an interview offer most likely did not receive my reply and are anxious about whether they would get one. What a shame! I've already planned their interviews! It's a good thing one of the five candidates got my reply just in time before I got locked out and responded with her confirmation.
Hi Ian, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Jobs that do not meet Indeed standards may be subject to review and require additional information from the hiring company. Listings that prove misleading, compromise the job seeker experience or those which we are not convinced represent a “real” job may be removed from search results altogether. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. We recommend viewing our Job Posting Guidelines here: https://indeed.force.com/employerSupport1/s/article/115005915763?language=en_US
I liked indeed because it told me who was hiring in the area and for what, but I applied to literally 200 jobs and I didn't hear from one. I got aggravated and just went basically knocking on doors and I got a job that very day. I start next week. I've also canceled their emails multiple times and I keep receiving emails... I'm not going to bash them but I did waste a whole month of my time and energy and now it's just aggravating. You could still apply on indeed.com but I would make a list of who I applied to and go meet them myself and shake a few hands. Let it be known you're a real person and you need employment. Otherwise, be prepared for the waiting game.
Your ability to post jobs on Indeed has been disabled.
One or more of the jobs you posted on Indeed was deemed not consistent with Indeed's quality standards. You will not be able to post any jobs directly on Indeed.
Indeed blocked our newly applied account for no reason stating that we have violated quality standards. We are the direct employer giving opportunities to job seekers and only after posting 2 vacancies they blocked the account. We have carefully read the do's and don't and quality standards of indeed and at no reason at all to block our account. This is the first time in a very long time after using indeed that our account got blocked after posting two vacancies. We haven't even received any CV's from the posting yet but our account has already been blocked.
Hi there, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. In these cases, employers will need to submit an appeal to our moderation team. This can be done by logging into your account, when you go to your dashboard you will see the option that states “appeal this decision” or “contact us” and you can begin filling out the form. Once it's submitted our moderation team will follow up with you directly within the next 24 hours via email from employersupport@indeed.com. Double-check your spam/junk folder as well since sometimes our emails can be sent there as well. If you ever need additional assistance in the future, feel free to reach out at sitejabber@indeed.com.
We created an employer account and advertise our job opening next thing you know after a month in a half and charging us over $1k they disable our account. We have legitimate jobs and al those people who apply none will get a response from us because we have no access to their contact information. Indeed itself is a scam. When these job seekers get no response from the company they applied to these job seekers lose work opportunity after sitting on their computer applying. Indeed needs to fix this they are a scam
Hello David, a member of our team has responded to your review by private message. Please follow up there for additional information.
Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.

Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
