If their results didn't lie when they said they had the owner information it would be really amazing! Instead I get to learn all about how many cylinders the vehicle has. It's all generic information that's accessible anywhere.

I recently was scammed into buying a vehicle to help my niece. She had been complaining that her family was stealing her property. Including her gas out of her truck. Her boyfriend told my husband about a vehicle his dad was selling. That it belonged to his aunt. My husband went and bought this vehicle and got the key, and a bill of sale. That was written on a piece of notepad. The seller's son was acting kinda fishy. He was telling us who could use the truck. My husband didn't like his response. So he calls the seller back and asks for the title. They were stalling, said they misplaced the title. And they agreed to make an exchange back. When we got there to get our money back. The seller asks his son over the phone should he give back the money. And he tells him no. The son screams at us over the phone that our niece are coming over to take the truck. Beat us up, and I figure steal my new vehicle that I just bought with my inheritance money. I had stashed in my car. As we drove away with both of our vehicles. My niece calls me and tells me that they called the police and reported it stolen. We ended up having to just park it somewhere. And later with her dad looking up the vehicle's vin number. It turns out that they're names are not on the title. With this information I am going to press charges for fraud. I don't expect my $800.00 dollars to return. But I'm getting the feeling that this is a regular scam, that needs to be stopped. And I will be reporting this information to the police.

I did a lookup, they show some information. They asked me to pay 2.95 for the full report, I paid, they showed me the same report but they added the vehicle information (technical specs, engine, displacement, etc. things I can find in the manufacture's website). And then asked me to pay an extra 9.95 to get the actual report I wanted to see (and they promised with the 2.95). Total SCAM. On top of that the 2.95 they charge you is not a one-time, but a subscription, so if you are not paying attention, after 7 days you get charged 29.95.

The Preliminary Search accesses people’s databases to confirm that the information exists in the United States. It may not match the search results obtained in the member’s area based on the same search parameters.

You will only be charged for the monthly subscription if you do not cancel before the trial ends.

Please know that InfoTracer makes it very easy for customers to cancel. Customers can call our Customer Care Team at 1-800-791-1427, which can also be found at the top right corner of the Member’s Area under “Support.” Another way to cancel is to log into the Member’s Area, select My Account, and then click the Cancel Subscription button under Account Details; an email confirmation will be sent automatically.

I ran the search on my end and was also unsuccessful. It could be that the license plate might be restricted access under the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) protection. This may also happen if the information has been purposely removed for privacy, confidentiality, and security by an individual or the state.

Since we were not able to provide the information, I processed a refund of $2.95. Please expect the funds to reflect in 3 to 5 business days. Your account has also been deactivated, and your email has been removed from our mailing list. Rest assured, we are working on improving our services. I sincerely apologize for the confusion and any inconvenience this has caused you. Please know that providing the title number is not yet part of our service. We can provide you with publicly available information such as Title Issue Date, State, Status (Current or Historical), Mileage, and VIN.

Additionally, the notifications regarding additional fees for the Premium Reports are optional add-ons only. We have to pay a fee to access these extra and highly sensitive data, which is not available anywhere else. Nonetheless, you can exit the pop-up notification, and it will continue to run the search without any additional fees.
