It's Just Lunch

The service is not a service at all. They have insufficient members to met their commitment and an open-ended contract that gives them eternity to provide the committed number of dates. In over two years I have had two actual dates, two no shows, and countless cancellations. I have spoken with management to no avail. Wish I had done my homework in advance as plenty of similar reviews exists as well as lawsuits.

It's a great concept and there is a need in the marketplace but IJL is not a viable option nor a reputable company.

I signed up for this service because I was so tired of feeling like I had a full time job online dating only to be disappointed when I did meet someone. It was exhausting and discouraging. My experience with It's Just Lunch has been the opposite! IJL does all the work for you, finding a match and setting up the date! I have been on 2 great dates and met 2 genuinely nice men. It has been such a breath of fresh air to be able to show up to a date and be pleasantly surprised with the company and conversation. I would recommend this service to anyone who wants to stop the apps and enjoy real connection.

Carla has been great to work with. She is totally professional, polite, respectful, communicative, and extremely hard working. I actually feel like she cares about who I find as a spouse, where I am not just a number to her. She and I are working hard at the process (and it is a process) to find the right girl!

I am satisfied with my experience thus far. My matchmaker,Tanya, has been responsive and encouraging. The quality of my matches with IJL has steadily improved. Tanya listens to and respects my preferences, addresses any concerns I have and navigates to the best outcome for me. Her coaching after a match has been made is VERY useful. I'm confident that I won't need all of the matches I signed up for. ;)

This was the biggest waste of money in my life. I have tried multiple dating sites in the past. I was sold over the phone buy one of their reps that they put all this research in and will give me a great match every three weeks. They sent me up on one date in six weeks. They also told me they would send me virtual dates and they never sent any. I paid almost $2000 and they immediately told me that I am not eligible for a refund or a prorated refund after they made multiple mistakes! I reported them to multiple agencies. Please do not waste your money or time with them. I am doing everything within my power to make sure I am spreading the word so they never screw over any customers again! Please do not refer your friends or family to them. They should change their name to It's Just a Scam!

Carla is unequivocally the greatest matchmaker IJL has to offer. She has been so sweet, kind and patient in working with me and truly "gets" my wants, desires, dreams and needs and is matching me up with some amazing people, though it takes time to really cultivate an understanding of personality--and now, after a few "less-than-desirable" matches, she is NAILING IT!

Needless to say-Carla is a genuine pleasure to work with and I'm excited to continue talking/working with her, even if I don't ever match up with my soulmate!

I only wish I could prevent others from spending their money here. PLEASE read the fine print and do NOT believe the lies they will tell you in order to get you to sign up. The only thing worse than the actual service is when you try to get customer service. You will finally get to a manager who will speak down to you, lecture you and basically say " thanks for signing up, we are sorry you are not happy with the service we provided". Save your money!

I was reluctant to spend money on a match making service like this. But i am glad i did. I am very busy and just dont have time to search for someone to spend time with. Anita with IJL has been patient with me and understanding. I am getting to know the process and enjoying it. I have had 4 fun dates so far.

I've been with IJL for 5 months and I highly recommend it to people who are serious about finding their special someone. Debra is my matchmaker and she's a great listener. She's picked several people who were good matches so far, and I have faith that she will keep finding good matches for me!

I've been a member of IJL for 3 years. I've had too many matchmakers to count and they all got it wrong. Bad dates, no dates, old men, nothing in common, or ghosted me. Subpar at best.

Anita listened and she matched me with a really nice well suited for me guy! I was comfortable and felt safe. He was real and had great energy. I'm glad I trusted the process. I'm open to what's to come

IJL are friendly, give good advice, and you're not going to waste time with crypto scammers (who knew that would be a problem with internet dating?). You will only be matched with other members who have signed up and paid the (pretty hefty) fee. So if there aren't many members in your region, it becomes a waiting game. The reason for the mediocre score is if you don't find the service to be working for you, they don't let you cancel. This is somewhat frustrating.

I love my Matchmaker Marina! She "gets" me. She really listened to me when I described myself to her, and obviously put a lot of thought and effort into her choice of a potential match for me. I appreciate her genuine personality, and I'm certain that she takes my goal to find a match very seriously.

I have been with IJL now for a year and have gone on roughly 5 dates. I have met some decent people, no one has stuck yet. The matches have been far and few in between and a little slower than I imagined; but I'm being patient they will find the BEST choices possible for me. This method of dating has forced me to look and think outside my usual box and although I haven't been physically attracted to them, the matches have been for the most part in line with what are the most important characteristics and attributes and for me.
Since being assigned to Tanya as my matchmaker, communication has greatly improved. I feel she listens to my concerns. My hope is Tanya is truly vested in finding suitable and true matches for me. I look forward to meeting more matches.

IJL asked me to consider dating people in a city thousands of miles from where I live, after assuring me that the local pool was big enough. Felt like a "bait and switch" move. I wish that the experience wasn't taking so long (two years). No complaints about my direct contacts.

Dating in the 21st century sucks. It hasn't been easy for me. So I touched base with IJL. Instead of feeling good about them, I was met with horrible sales tactics. Upon showing a lack of interest in subscribing due to price, sales staff, on two different occasions, were EXTREMELY pushy, resorting to insults and personal attacks to try to get you to subscribe ("Do you REALLY want to tell people you met on TINDER?"/"Well, nothing else you're doing is working, is it?"), refusing to accept "No" for an answer until you hang up on them. I felt like I was car shopping.

I'm on a reserve list for dates where nothing is guaranteed but, if you're needed, you get calls, and I've had an alright experience with that, enough to pull this rating from a 1 to 2. I think I've had 4-5 dates since 2020 and Matchmakers, including Tricia, are helpful and good to work with.

My first date was amazing! My date and I connected so well...we were so comfortable with each other! We want to see each other again which just adds to my content with my matchmaker's skill at finding us for each.

I joined iJL and met Marina as a match maker. She knows her clients well, and is able to match them based on interests, personality, and hobbies. When I had misgivings about a date, we talked it over and
She offered good advice.

I had a fun date night with Paulina last weekend. This was setup by Carissa who is my matchmaker. We had lovely dinner and conversations, exchange numbers and met again for lunch the next day. Definitely a pleasant moment and looking forward for my next quality date!

They took my money and asked me what I wanted in my dates. I said thin and trim, that's about all, just thin and trim. All my dates were fat. I told them I was not happy and wanted a refund. "HA HA HA, NO you can't have a refund, we'll just send you out with more [fat] dates." Horribly expensive and not much better than speed dating, which is only $30.

Thoroughly enjoyed dates with Mary and Diane,
Both were personable engaging and both dates were attractive well grommed and well dressed.
Both had advanced degrees and are very intelligent which made for excellent wide ranging conversations Diane and I had many shared interests and I think this relationship will go further
Went to a Christmas party with Mary the next day. Shes out of town for a while but will probably see her again. Diane and I exchanged contact info and I have already called her about our next date.

I have only had one date with It's Just Lunch so far, but it was very nice and my matchmaker planned it out well. I would not say it was very personalized to my preferences, besides the fact that it was close to where I and he lived, however. Still, it was a nice restaurant and my date was very polite and kind.

All the negatives listed in other adds on this site line up with my experience. Embarrassing to have been scammed like I was. I was promised 12 dates in 12 months for $2800. I had 3 dates after constantly prodding them. There is no refund no matter how they fail to deliver what they promised... read the fine print. Rudeness is the order of the day with a constantly rotating set of matchmakers. Given the turnover it must be hell to work for IJL. Just say NO!

Anita, has been helpful with the entire process from helping me with picking out the right photos to improving my profile.
In addition, she listened to my needs and worked with me to find the right person and to help with the location of the first meeting to make sure that the location was truly a good mutual meeting place. So far, the picks have been spot on.
