We have been using Jacquie Lawson cards & advent calendars for about 10 yrs now. My husband found it and sent them regularly and generally purchased about 12-20 advent calendars for a lot of our family. We have never had an issue with any of it. It isn't always the easiest to contact them but I did have to 3 times over the years (getting the account switched from my husbands name to mine after his passing) and always got a fairly rapid response. I have really enjoyed the advent calendars over the years. That being said, the most recent one here (London 2021) is definitely failing to live up to the past one (I still use the Cotswolds one from last year tho). It's as if they're tired or someone else took over. It's bland, not as interactive, and not very Christmassy (?). I'm am less than overwhelmed with this years calendar but still hopeful that they will bounce back next year.
There are 2 worst types of c artist, those who pretend to be charities and prey on the weak, and those who prey on happy occasion seekers. This is the second. They took my money, let me delight in choosing a card, then told me that because I had previously had to block their email address (due to it being hijacked for spam) that I could not send the card. No fast help to get my money back, they don't do online chat in UK hours, so having to wait for them to reply to a strong email. Also worth noting you can't buy UK gift vouchers either. Anyway, Amazon do a lovely card and voucher with no hassle at all, so use them and not these people. Will update here if they fail to return my money without me having to go to my card issuer. This outfit is dangerous, do not under any circumstances give them a penny of your cash.

We've been customers of JL for many years, but have spent a great deal of time today trying without success to renew our membership. We cannot use the Tesco App, and Paypal claims to have sent verification codes which have not arrived. So our membership has now expired and will not be renewed. We cannot understand why JL has changed into a company which now is unhelpful, uncaring, and definitely user-unfriendly. We feel disgusted, and also sad, as the product has generally been good, much-used, and of great value to us. What on earth has happened to JL?

I have used JacquieLawson for years and like her cards but I decided to send a gift card to Panera Bakery with a card on 2/5/24 and my friend has not received it yet and I have been charged for the gift card. I looked it up on "sent cards" at the website and it indicated it had not been received and indicated I could resend. I resent it and still it has not been delivered. I know my friend's condo has terrible internet service but wonder if that is the only problem and wonder if I can get the charge credited back to my visa card. I have not been able to find a way to send this problem directly to JacquieLawson cards so I hope this is seen by them quickly.
I like a lot of their cards, but the prices are outrageous. Go up ever year. $40 for 2.years. I've had it. They also don't let you know the price until you're ready to order and you can't find where to contact them. I asked Google.
Please be warned.
I purchased on 17/12/23 a single one month subscription on The J-L website. To make payment I clicked the option Get it on Google Play. I used the App for just one week to allow me to send Christmas cards to friends and relatives. J-L knew from the outset that I had purchased a single month subscription because I received promotional emails early in January 2024 reminding me that my subscription was about to expire. Imagine my surprise when I found out this week that Google Play have continued to take monthly payments on 16/01/24 and 16/02/24. J-L refuses to help me, stating that I have to sort it out with Google Play. I have requested a refund from Google Play and they have declined. J-L has continued to take my funds despite knowing my original purchase was for one month only. How unprofessional. I will now contact my credit card company to dispute both transactions. I will also research the relevant ombudsman to complain about J-L. Please do not entertain doing business with this company.
Wanted to warn customers who have perhaps purchased an advent calendar in the past. This year - the Edwardian Calendar 2023 - will not install on my desktop computer (never a problem in past years). I have been trying to get my money back, but their 'help' desk hasn't helped and I am £7 worse off. I won't be renewing my membership and wanted to share this experience - think twice before paying/downloading, there may be a technical fault on their side. I don't know this for sure, but as I haven't been given any support/customer service/guidance, I can only speak as I find. So disappointed.

This used to be an amazing service. Sadly although purchasing a two year renewal I have been unable to use the site. I have written and complained but not received any reply. I have pro actively advised friends to join.Since the site was changed (upgraded.) it has become very difficult to negotiate. Shame as I've been with them for years! I want a 1 year refund! Sadly it's not fit for purpose anymore!
Tip for consumers:
Prior to site changes it was an excellent service that I’ve used for years!
I have used this for years. Easier and cheaper than US mail. And gorgeous cards. But now it costs twice as much. And I just saw they don't let you respond to comments/thank yous anymore. Were they bough out perhaps? Back to sending a very few cards via (60c per stamp) US mail.
Been member for years now and this change was as if someone with no knowledge of how well that old site worked came along and decided "the new way" will be the best way! Wrong. Will be missing be a member of this site as I'm not liking the added work to send out my cards.
Tip for consumers:
The functionality of the site was and still is important . . . . especially for any older citizens and is now like a typical PC user thinks its easier than a Mac . . . no, not so, its just not as functional. Less steps created more steps and a few missing steps . . . not good and clearly was made on a template. The old site worked perfectly so disappointed now.
Advent calendars expensive, poor customer service and communication, twee selection of cards, it seems that apart from acknowledging your payment they lose interest in any feedback. The codes on advent calendar's defeat some recipient's and at £ 3.00 a copy that's rough on the sender.
I have not chosen to deal with this company, but they have no email verification nor the most basic of data protection and privacy policies actually enacted so they didn't even send me an unsubscribe link whilst storing and using my details in breach of GDPR.
Do not put your own or any or your friends or family's details into this unsafe platform.
Tip for consumers:
Do not put the details of anyone you like anywhere near this mess until they have sorted out their data protection and privacy to meet even the most lowest minimums, where they currently can't even scrape that together right now.

None, they just violated my data privacy with their lack of basic professional standards and inability to meet basic legal minimum standards.
I've been a great fan of JL for several years. The artwork is charming and often inspiring. Friends who have received the e-cards have been uniformly enthusiastic. But the software has been changed in a way that makes opening a card a burdensome task, sometimes a futile one. Result: what was intended as a delightful gift has become a maddening ordeal. In making these changes, the company has shot itself in the foot. I won't be subscribing again until JL publicly announces that it has reverted to a user-friendly process.
Tip for consumers:
The cards have become difficult, if not impossible, to open.

I bought this card service because I liked a card that a friend sent me. Well, I've sent cards which no one opened because the title reads "Jacquie Lawson," not, Your Friend Has Sent You A Card. People thought it was spam. Even after being told, some people could not open the cards. I received a Sussex Advent Calendar as a gift and there isn't enough time in my life to try to get it to work. Every attempt puts me back on the marketing page with offers to buy cards. This company is the worst! Save your money.
They're tone deaf and don't read emails correctly. They claim you can do free ecards through iPhone app but whe you install app you can't get past "subscribe" and unable to do even one free ecard. There's no customer service phone # which complicates matters and precludes a satisfactory resolution.
I was gifted the Advent Calendar in 2021 and 2022 and just loved it. Last year's was amazing. How disappointing this year's one is - no lights in the streets to change, no shops with things happening in them, no church window to decorate. The animals to find are SO boring. Clearly someone with very little imagination designed this. I've actually resorted to doing last year's one again because this year's is so dull.
You cannot trust them. I am a pensioner and could not afford the $30 renewal fee. The credit card I had registered with them had expired so I did not update it. However the amount was deducted from my new credit card! How did they get the updated details - I do not know! How dare they act in this way, it should be against the law to deduct from a unregistered, unauthorised, credit card. I have sent two emails, but as expected, no answer. Avoid them at all costs.

My cards were sent as coming from someone else. There was no way to contact them to correct their mistake. Two attempts at email went unanswered. The cards are beautiful but there is no customer service.
I would like to cancel my subscription. I have had a couple of problems with sending cards. It has been a hassle since you changed your setup for sending cards. I did contact customer service. They responded, but the cancellation process did not seem very easy to use. The response was not helpful. Well, anyways, just please cancel my account.! Please
I have been trying to renew for over a year although I complete the payment page at the confirm payment nothing happens. You can;t speak to a person only form of contact is ask a question which put you to another list of questions you then get to another and so on. I left a message on the help page so far no responce. It must be great to have a business with no customer service.
Follow up with anyone you sent a Nordic Calendar to in 2020.
A relative just let me know she had to pay $5.00 to open it, and I had already paid for it ($4.00 in bulk.)
I am now checking with other recipients to see if they had the same experience. Most would be too polite to tell me.
I have an email in to Jacquie Lawson now.
If I do not receive a time and appropriate response and a credit to my account, as I am sending the relative $5.00, I will report it to the appropriate British authorities.
I hope this is simply a technical problem vs. someone within the company trying to line his/her pockets.
Dear Jacquie, I have been a fervid follower over many years and have had
so much pleasure from your work but now I feel you seem to have lost the
plot. From your breathtaking lovely simplicity of the Christmas cottage
and the spiritual joy of the sheep in Silent Night to the truly awful
brash and totally commercial Alpine calendar that is so packed with
technology that it slows down the action to jerky waits even though fibre
rates of 38 cannot cope.
Please please consider a return to the peaceful, beautiful amusing work
that brings so much pleasure.
Very Sincerely
William Lowe
I was gifted a card to which I couldn't get to activate. Tried to contact the customer service, or at least seven occasions via email, had fragmented replies, no one person picked this up and saw all the way through. Gave up having access to the gift. Would not use them and would certainly not recommend them.

Today I sent a card for immediate delivery and one for later this month but made an error by clicking on "Renew Membership" by mistake. It isn't up for a long while but I received a thank you and am worried that a charge on my credit card will be made a year in advance. There is no way to reach them as the Contact Us button does not function.
In reviewing these two cards the print is not where I typed so I went back and forth changing the position of words to improve the look. I wish to opt out at the end of my first year but I noticed today that I am locked in for two years and am sure I would not have agreed to that as I was 80 when I joined and I don't commit to anything that long ever. Jacquie is quite a business person making sure everything is in her favour and tough on us.

I so enjoyed the 2016 Advent Calendar that I ordered the 2017 Alpine Calendar this year. It is a serious disappointment. I can go to each day's activity and complete the activity, but when is click on "Return to Scene" the program does not take me back. I have to re-download. Then, when I open on the village scene, nothing that I have done shows up. The scene remains the same as it was at the beginning and does not show my Christmas tree that I created and tried to put on display. I contacted Jacquie Lawson on their site for help with this problem. Three days later--no response.
Charming animated greeting cards for birthdays and special occasions, featuring English landscapes, playful animals, and much more.
