We have been using Jacquie Lawson cards & advent calendars for about 10 yrs now. My husband found it and sent them regularly and generally purchased about 12-20 advent calendars for a lot of our family. We have never had an issue with any of it. It isn't always the easiest to contact them but I did have to 3 times over the years (getting the account switched from my husbands name to mine after his passing) and always got a fairly rapid response. I have really enjoyed the advent calendars over the years. That being said, the most recent one here (London 2021) is definitely failing to live up to the past one (I still use the Cotswolds one from last year tho). It's as if they're tired or someone else took over. It's bland, not as interactive, and not very Christmassy (?). I'm am less than overwhelmed with this years calendar but still hopeful that they will bounce back next year.
There are 2 worst types of c artist, those who pretend to be charities and prey on the weak, and those who prey on happy occasion seekers. This is the second. They took my money, let me delight in choosing a card, then told me that because I had previously had to block their email address (due to it being hijacked for spam) that I could not send the card. No fast help to get my money back, they don't do online chat in UK hours, so having to wait for them to reply to a strong email. Also worth noting you can't buy UK gift vouchers either. Anyway, Amazon do a lovely card and voucher with no hassle at all, so use them and not these people. Will update here if they fail to return my money without me having to go to my card issuer. This outfit is dangerous, do not under any circumstances give them a penny of your cash.
Submitted all names, emails, etc., but site wouldn't confirm if cards were sent. User unfriendly! I only saw top of two cards. Will try to cancel as I signed up for two long years.
I have been happily sending Jacquie Lawson cards since they opened. They delight my friends. The combo of address book and reminders of friends' birthdays has kept me in contact with many who I no longer see regularly. The site always answered my emails in a few days. I'm in no rush. The webpage was quick and efficient. I don't use their FaceBook or other media options.
Now it is as if the company is under new management and given a "make-over" to make it trendy. It has only made it slow and cumbersome. It is pretty enough, in a way appropriate to the printed page but not a website. The display type is grey and in 10 pt type that makes it difficult to read. To simply send a card it takes multiple clicks, simply not worth the bother.
I have written them but they no longer answer their emails and tell you so in their FAQ section.
They have been the only option for really attractive cards but I fear they have exceeded their reach. They are simply too much bother. I fear that my days of sending electronic cards are over.
I've been a faithful and admiring customer for years. Recently the site was re-designed and nearly all of my address book got deleted! I had birthdates that were hard to ask for and hard to gain and I naively and trustingly stored all of that inside the nifty address book they had. I'm heartbroken to lost this data since I am an English teacher and used these cards as little surprises for my students. The Jacquie Lawson staff will not answer my plaintive messages for customer service. Their customer service is zilch. As long as you have no questions or problems, this site is okay, but beyond the basics, which were always so beautiful, they do not care about responding to their customers. Another example besides the lost addresses and info are the "new" message screens where the text you type comes out in such a tiny point-size that your message is not readable. Of course, writing a personalized message on a card is at least half the reason for sending it. I'm considering cancelling my membership now, but I'm so depressed about this. It was such a great thing in times past, this is such a bummer.
I've been sending these beautiful ecards to friends and family for a few years. I still find it enjoyable to choose just the right card that fits the occasion and the recipients are always pleased!
Jacquie Lawson e-cards has caused me inconvenience & anguish with their programs.
I have an Apple computer & it is operating with all the latest versions. I have been a JL customer
For years. I like their e-cards. However, be aware of the "freebies" offered by them (i. E. Curio Collection;
Advent Calendars & their latest, "Country Cottage"). You download the program, it runs for a while & then this company forces "upgrades" (no bypass). Once you click for getting the upgrade, it can cause havoc with your personal computer: screens freeze & the program, once offered to you for free, now needs to be uninstalled. Even though the company doesn't explain this up front, when you write to ask their helpdesk for help, you are directed to their "Order History" page & now they want you to pay for each program. All your previous history vanishes, as if you've never had any of the programs (which essentially are venues for some basic games). Don't like the deceptions here, nor the inconvenience with all the computer problems caused by them... but word to the wise: Their game programs were average & not worth the grief they caused on my computer. I won't be ordering any of them & will never again accept anything "free". If they were transparent to say that the free program would only work for 30 days, I wouldn't be here complaining, but they don't say. Suddenly, with their "upgrades", your computer is compromised & it took me days to get it back to working order, no real help from them. No thanks!
I made the mistake of clicking the automatic renewal button on the JacquieLawson.com website. I have not accessed my account since 2013. I've lived in 3 different states, had 5 official change of addresses with USPS, made numerous attempts to access my account and change this option, ALL DENIED because the email provider I registered with NAME.insightbb.com is no longer a valid email address! WORST COSTUMER SERVICE on the internet.
I have used this site for years and any hitches have been my own fault!
Delightful and humorous cards for every occasion.
Great for animal lovers! Great value too.
Before the web site up date i was always very satisfied with the presentation and performance.
Since the up grade i find it is not user friendly and does not work.
I love these cards and send them to friends and family for birthdays, holidays and other occasions. The animations are clever and the musical accompaniments are fun. These cards cannot be beat!
This is most of the letter I just sent them after receiving an unhelpful letter.
Hello, I tried the methods suggested then went in today to send lunar new year cards to my family and no matter what I did, I had to leave the site & re-enter at least 7 times before it would actually KEEP the text of my note on the card instead of going back to start over from zero. Also, tried rebooting my computer a couple times. I also tried sending one from fb, but my family said it hasn't reached them at all.
My memory of sending things from JL over the past 15 years has been that it was easy and quick, and if I asked my password to be remembered, it was. Now, it always asks for it over and over again and sometimes I have to say how many traffic lights are in the pix! This is so wrong! I used to use this site bc of the beauty of the cards and the ease and pleasure of sending. It's become very hard now, maybe too much automation — but it is NO longer the user-friendly place it was—why I joined in the first place!
I never had to empty caches or have to come in thru different routes. I never had to reboot. I never would lose all the text of my cards, which were often written to specific people, not a group-send! Now — I have to save the text of the card, put it in Notes, then re-paste it EVERY TIME I have to recreate the card. Everything that made JL a wonderful site is gone…
I'm so disappointed in the service offered here.
Tip for consumers:
Wait until this is site is under MUCH BETTER management. And even then, let the buyer beware!

I have been a loyal fan (and subscriber) from the very earliest days of Jacquie Lawson cards. However, today I went online to send a card to a friend and for the life of me I couldn't get the contacts to work. I tried several times (and lost the composed greeting twice before I wised up and copied and pasted it into notepad) but ended up entering the recipient and her email address myself. The old website was perfect -- never a problem and very easy to use. What smart-alecky advertising person thought changing the layout would be a great idea? Haven't they heard "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"? I also decided to check what information they collect about their customers and was appalled to find some very personal and private details are automatically vacuumed up, unless the customer opts out in writing! I did that immediately, and almost as immediate -- I cancelled my account. This isn't the old Jacquie Lawson company; it appears to have been bought by American Greetings -- at least, that's where they advise you to send your opt out request! AMERICAN GREETINGS? BTW, Jacquie Lawson, I was wondering what happened to your vehement statement in favour of staying independent: "It's a bit of a crusade because there's so much rubbish on the internet" (Guardian, 12 Feb 2006)? I guess everyone really DOES have a price, even a sweet old lady like Jacquie. I'm an old lady, too, and I am sad. It's been lovely knowing you, but I guess I really lost my old friend, Jacquie, a long time ago -- I was just too naive to realise it.
Business is difficult to contact. They advertise no phone #. Their e-cards are cute but your patronage is not supported well at all.
I purchased it 6 days ago and still can't use it. I've written but they don't answer. Terrible service.
As if it hadn't gotten bad enough Now your recipients can't open up the e-cards unless they download the App. What a ripe-off!

Ecards
Have subscribed for many years. Was referred to the site through eCards sent to me by family and friends.
New site requires numerous steps to accomplish task, cumbersome at best!
Draft is illegible small print.
Tip for consumers:
Better Sites are available for less cost and easier to use since the recent changes to site.
Takes MUCH too MUCH time to select and send cards due to numerous steps.
Printing of message on draft is very poor. Also gotten much too focused silly themes.

Am I the only punter to be sick and tired of Jacquie Lawson's line-dancing teddy-bears, 4th of July parades (usually of teddy-bears) and St Patrick's Day capers - usually involving teddy-bears? The message is clear: Jacquie Lawson.com has lost sight of her very English roots, choosing to ignore the rich heritage that is at her fingertips, in favour of the 'American Market'. I don't really get it.
The most annoying omission from the Lawson catalogue is 23rd April, St George's Day. One does not have to be a fascist, or a member of the National Front, to appreciate England's patron saint. Disney could have had a wonderful time with the story of St George and the dragon, without offending anyone, and the Jacquie Lawson company is inventive enough and witty enough to provide their own take on the story, and make a superb animation out of it - not a teddy-bear in sight. I think America would love it, and a great opportunity has been missed. (The company also pays little or no attention to St David of Wales, whose legends are manifold and rather wonderful. Scotland is not ignored, thanks to New Year, and I seem to recall teddy-bears playing bagpipes! St. Andrew of Scotland was of course crucified, so perhaps even a teddy-bear would object to that as a greeting!)
The other opportunity that Jacquie Lawson resolutely misses, is also 23rd April - traditionally Shakespeare's Birthday. There is something wrong with Lawson's marketing if they really cannot see the potential offered by the works of the Bard to those of us who would like to send something a little more gutsy, maybe even dramatic. Again, Americans would love it - even without teddy-bears - but criticism to the company's face appears futile, which is a pity. Responses, if received, are never better than formulaic, and of the 'fobbing-off' variety.
Yes of course I will continue to use Jacquielawson.com, because there are no serious rivals, but there is something a little painful about watching such a creative company resting on its laurels, stuck in such an obvious rut. It is in danger of becoming a bore.
Maybe a good shakeup is overdue.
Excellent service, excellent card choices, punctual reminders of approaching dates, I am extremely pleased.

I no longer am able to send cards using my iPad. So frustrating and no way to speak to the company. I will not be renewing when my subscription ends.
This is the fourth Advent calendar from Jacquie Lawson I have bought and it is the first one with which I am disappointed.
When I saw the intro on her website for the Alpine village and compared it to the actual calendar there is a big difference. I expected the calendar to look like the come on video as to color and size and detail yet do not see that. Even when going to full screen mode there is a distinct difference. It just does not measure up to what I expected in the advertised video.
Next, we are informed that flash player is phased out and the only viewing option is in a browser. Previously I downloaded the calendars and was able to enjoy the daily events in a peaceful and relaxed fashion. Being compelled to use my browser is a pain in the neck. It requires connection to the internet and woe to you if your phone service goes down due to a storm. No calendar. The calendar frequently requires refreshing of the screen as nothing happens or it is slooow to load. I have been spoiled by the seamless functioning of the downloadable calendars of Christmases past so now having to click through 2 to 3 slow screens is not enjoyable. And once you click on the day's ornament, if you change your mind, you cannot cancel and go back until you enter the activity. There is no 'escape clause' until you go all the way in.
As to content, this year it seems less about evoking the feeling and spirit of Christmas and more about extolling Switzerland, the mountains, ( why are we seeing summer scenes? And with a bird which looks an awful lot like a bald eagle), the fondue, the St. Bernards. All very nice, I'm sure however are there no Swiss Christmas traditions to which we could be introduced? A quick Google and there are so many possibilities which we could be seeing.
I have been absolutely smitten with past calendars and this one just does not measure up as to content or ease of access however, there are still 10 days till Christmas. I hope the Christmas spirit will manifest itself.
Please, Ms. Lawson, restore Flash as an option and return to your roots and the things which you know so well and which make you unique.
Wonderful cards, designed for all occasions, and sent via email either immediately or upon a date chosen by the sender. Great idea!
I never sent one card, and requested a refund of my money. After 9 days still no response and no refund. Stay clear of "Jackie Lawson" ecards.
Charming animated greeting cards for birthdays and special occasions, featuring English landscapes, playful animals, and much more.
