I recently had a terrifying and distressing experience at Jersey Mike's in Anna. After a busy day, my husband and I decided to treat ourselves to sandwiches. I personally went to the store to placed our order. One of our sandwiches was made in the front, but the other was made in the back, out of sight, where I believe the prep area is. The sandwich I ordered was made with a gluten-free bun, and it was filled with nearly all of the veggies offered in the station.
Once I got home, I took a few bites of my sandwich, but then I began choking. My husband, thankfully, was home and reacted quickly by performing the heimlich maneuver on me. Afterward, I coughed out a thick, curved piece of plastic. We immediately called the store to report the incident. My husband spoke to two different managers, but instead of taking responsibility or offering an apology, they argued with us, claiming that their store doesn't have plastic of any sorts in their restaurant, even though I personally saw them unwrap the gluten-free bun from plastic wrapping. They accused me of lying about the whole situation, and degraded me and my husband the whole time when trying to explain what happened over the phone. We asked for a refund and for the contact information of the owner, but both managers refused to provide any details and demanded photos of the plastic and sandwich. I ended up sending the requested photos, but the situation was never properly addressed. The owner never responded to my email, nor did anyone from the company follow up with me to ensure I was okay or resolve the issue. It's been over a month since this happened (on 2/5/25), and I still haven't received a refund or heard from anyone.
As someone who's worked in the restaurant industry, I know how things should be handled, and this experience has been incredibly disappointing. The lack of communication, empathy, and professionalism shown by the staff and management is unacceptable. I would have expected a much more respectful and responsible response to this serious situation. I hope no one else has to go through what I experienced and that this issue is addressed to prevent it from happening again. Please note, I'm a new mom, that is usually home alone with the baby all day and I'm so thankful someone was home because I don't know where I would be today. I was traumatized from the whole experience and when thinking about it I still am. Imagine being in shock and receiving the amount of treatment I did that day. I'll no longer be a customer due to my experience, and if I could there would be no stars to give.

Messed up order
July 6, 2023

My order clearly stated one thing (no onions, no tomatoes and to add bacon) I received a completely different sandwich. When I called them and told them about it, their response was there's nothing that we can do for you. Also, I'd like to know that my father stated his cheese was like one big clump of cheese instead of slices, as if it was melted together.

My most recent trip to Jersey Mike's was absolutely fantastic. It's a top-notch location for anyone in need of a yummy sub! I'll be getting more, and I wholeheartedly suggest Jersey Mike's to all sandwich lovers out there!
*Fun Fact I was born in Point Pleasant, NJ - where it was founded :)

It's so good!

Love this place. This is by far the best sub sandwich place to eat at. I love the fresh cut deli meat. Mm! The websites a good one too!
