Installed the tall sissy bar on wife's XL. Fit & finish is great. Seems like it will remain very solid & durable. Like some other reviews stated the hardware could be upgraded. We didn't have issues w/the heads stripping, I believe, because of reading reviews prior.
JP had extensive inventory for picking out my air cleaner intake. However I evidently over looked the additional mount kit required for the installation, which doubled the price. The intake filter material was foam not my first choice very disappointing all around experience including the JP reps both of whom sounded as though they didn't want to be there disgruntled.
Great selection, competitive prices and with the RPM membership it is hard to find a better deal.
If you plan on spending a decent amount at JP it will pay for itself and earn you free store credit quick!
I went to my local J&P cycle store and try to find the product that I purchased. I had to order it at the counter and have it shipped to me. However, this did not fit, as well as the one on the shelf in the store. The person behind the counter believed that the one I ordered was higher.

Thanks I got the parts, live in Australia so I expect it to take a while to get here. The first package got here on the 12 of July,fairly quick. The second took to the 26th. All good though.
J&P are excellent to buy through, They have most of the parts I need for my old shovelheads.

I have 3 shovelheads and do most of my parts buying from J&P Cycles, there parts are of a good standard. The postage can take a while to get here but I do live in Australia, if there is something wrong they have a excellent return conditions and if things go missing they will replace it.
They get back to you fairly quickly.They sort out most problems..
They have a large amount of parts for Harley Davidson parts.They are good to deal with..
My experience with J&P have always been good, if there are any problems J&P will sort it out. There terms on returns are very good, Ive not seen else where. I have had a bit of trouble with there USPS postage, But that gets sorted out but it takes a bit of time, apart from that I would recommend them.
If you have trouble J&P will help to sort it out . From parts problems to shipping problems, of which I have had over a few years, they all got sorted out.Just takes a bit of time but I do live in Australia and I must say I prefer UPS postage over USPS ,its a lot quicker for international postage.But it all gets here..
J&P are a good 1 stop shop for nearly all the Harley Shovelhead parts I need.
There products are of a good standard, there after market replacement parts for H.D.s are good quality. And if you are not happy with what you received,for a range of issues J&P will replace them.

I ordered the same part on a different website, PartsGiant, after 2 weeks it still didn't ship. I tried J&P Cycles and I received what I needed in 2 days. Thank God, my bike is my only form of transportation and I was getting kinda depressed waiting for a part that never shipped. I'll only shop J&P for parts from now on

I was getting no spark so I asked a few buddies what it could be. Crank sensor was a cheap alternative, spark plugs were clean and dry, ignition coil tested good, so it had to be the ignition module. Screamin Eagle OEM for carbureted bikes tend to go out quick, at 14,000 miles I guess 20 years took its toll. A little frustrating but the Daytona TC-88 works perfectly and being able to tune RPM limits and timing is a luxury I never knew I needed
Routine online order. It did not correct my problem but it was a "problem elimination issue" not an order problem. I already am putting in the cart my next order.

Online add. And past experience with them has been good. They are my go to supplier since Harley decided not to support the bikes they sold me after they become a certain age. So I am learning to be a bike mechanic. There must be a market for vintage mechanic shops. J & P helps me out with parts most of the time.

My problem is the ignition switch terminals are not clearly marked with no instructions on which is which.
Wasn't bad but when I tried to use the first time buyers code I was given it didn't work so I couldn't get my 10% off which this is the first time I've ever ordered anything from here!

Even though the size and location of the terminals was correct, the non factory cable fastners made the installation installation of the cables a challenge and time consuming.

Something to put on my bike
Everything was great I bought a little tiny switch( 1"x1/4") at a great price that got here when it was supposed to in a big giant box12"x7"x4", that was defininetly a little big, shipping was more than the part but J&P had exactly what I needed and thats what counts.
Good overall experience. No hassles and prompt delivery. Asking for fifty characters is a bit of a hassle on this review though.

John Parham was bitten by the motorcycle bug early in his life. His enthusiasm led to a partnership in a small motorcycle shop from 1975 to 1979. In 1979 he and his wife, Jill, established J. Parham Enterprises, Inc., the predecessor to the present J&P Cycles, Inc. During this time, John still worked full-time and followed his "hobby" in the evening and weekends. In 1982 John was laid off from his factory job. Two years later, in 1984, their small motorcycle shop burned to the ground.
When they easily could have given up, they didn't! Instead, they decided to rebuild the shop, and run the business full-time. Today, J&P Cycles has grown from one employee to over 300. In addition to the Anamosa, IA location warehouse, in 2007 a new 35,000 square foot facility opened in Ormond Beach, FL. At Destination Daytona. The new location features a 15,000 square foot retail space and separate call center.
