Installed the tall sissy bar on wife's XL. Fit & finish is great. Seems like it will remain very solid & durable. Like some other reviews stated the hardware could be upgraded. We didn't have issues w/the heads stripping, I believe, because of reading reviews prior.
JP had extensive inventory for picking out my air cleaner intake. However I evidently over looked the additional mount kit required for the installation, which doubled the price. The intake filter material was foam not my first choice very disappointing all around experience including the JP reps both of whom sounded as though they didn't want to be there disgruntled.
Ordered a starter and gaskets next day, due to the local dealers not having one in stock. Ordered on Tuesday morning. One gasket showed wed. The other showed Friday. And the starter didn't show until late afternoon Saturday. They refunded the shipping charges. But I ended up missing my deadline because of it.
First cs rep was personable and understood. Second said very little

Needed to quiet down my Harley for a sticker
The part I ordered was for a 1971 FLH Shovalhead but I had to find the part number in an old J&P catalog that I've been holding on to because the latest catalog I have don't list parts fo older Harley. The older catalog is just for vintage Harleys. Is the catalog for vintage Harleys still available with up to date prices?.

I don't seem to get the discount when I sign up for them. Veteran, disabled and senior, oh well. I wanted the BT-45 but it was not available. Dunlap only got 15,000 miles on a new trike. Hope this one does better.

After receiving my oil filter went to put it on and noticed it was smaller than the one I was replacing. It screwed on ok and doesn't leak it worked but still wrong filter. Should be ok I hope.

Excellent. I received the tire within 2-3 days, took it over to J&P in Pigeon Forge and they mounted on my rim while I went to lunch, and it was ready when I stopped in immediately after lunch. Within 5 days the tire was ordered, received, mounted on the wheel and back on the bike.

I was having trouble with a sloppy shift. Narrowed it down to the heim joints in the stock shift rod. Ordered the blue Arlen Ness shift rod. Received it in 2 days. During installation the was 1 little glitch...the front bolt (which should be 1-1/4' long was 1-1/2" long) was hitting the front jug cooling fins. Minor modification with a whiz wheel fixed it. Other than that it's a great product. Shifting feels perfect now.

John Parham was bitten by the motorcycle bug early in his life. His enthusiasm led to a partnership in a small motorcycle shop from 1975 to 1979. In 1979 he and his wife, Jill, established J. Parham Enterprises, Inc., the predecessor to the present J&P Cycles, Inc. During this time, John still worked full-time and followed his "hobby" in the evening and weekends. In 1982 John was laid off from his factory job. Two years later, in 1984, their small motorcycle shop burned to the ground.
When they easily could have given up, they didn't! Instead, they decided to rebuild the shop, and run the business full-time. Today, J&P Cycles has grown from one employee to over 300. In addition to the Anamosa, IA location warehouse, in 2007 a new 35,000 square foot facility opened in Ormond Beach, FL. At Destination Daytona. The new location features a 15,000 square foot retail space and separate call center.
