Installed the tall sissy bar on wife's XL. Fit & finish is great. Seems like it will remain very solid & durable. Like some other reviews stated the hardware could be upgraded. We didn't have issues w/the heads stripping, I believe, because of reading reviews prior.

“Air filter intake”

JP had extensive inventory for picking out my air cleaner intake. However I evidently over looked the additional mount kit required for the installation, which doubled the price. The intake filter material was foam not my first choice very disappointing all around experience including the JP reps both of whom sounded as though they didn't want to be there disgruntled.

J&P is absolutely terrible! I ordered an "In Stock" item over a week ago and my order still says processing. I tried calling customer service and was on hold for over 20 minutes before reaching someone and they told me that their warehouse was backed up. I cancelled my order and found another company to work with. I'll have it in hand this weekend!

Truly a bad experience. After getting a recommendation on a baffle from their online consultant, baffle ended up not doing anything. Top things off... they won't accept a return because I had to put it in to test. Customer service was never apologetic or sympathetic. Just made excuses.

Two different orders, one with spot light that advertise sealed beams and were not, bulb burned out on second ride! J&P said to send it back and they would look at it! Paid $122 bucks and then had to order bulbs because I didn't want to be without them for an upcoming ride! Second order was for a windshield that did not fit as advertised, customer service rep had no idea what he was talking about! It was easier to order a replacement from somewhere else! They had no intention to help in any way! I will take my business elsewhere!

Placed order 11 days ago. First shipment "lost" by FedEx. Called customer service after 5 days. Was told they'll look into it and reship by different carrier but there will be a 3 day wait because of investigation. Order was again marked shipped and website said will be updated within 24 hours. Now. 36 hours later, no update, no tracking number. Will contact customer service yet again tomorrow, then the bank to start disputing transaction.

Thank You J&P for a quick return of funds to my account... and my parts did arrive within 5 business days as promised and with no other errors. So I must give credit where it's due. I do know that ownership changes are very difficult for new owners as well as management teams and employees. Yours being an exceptionally harder business to transition I'm sure. Website shows no back order on parts that are not really on hand. Many days later an email notice of cancellation shows up with a credit for 10 bucks... This has happened to me twice in my last few orders. I am really hesitant to return to J&P Cycles for my parts needs when their competitors are able to deliver hassle free.

My negative experience with J&P Cycles was quickly turned around. I received my first response the same day advising that someone would be following up immediately. First thing this morning I received a call from a customer service supervisor named James who went above and beyond to remedy the situation. I understand the original owners have retired and apparently sold the business. J&P Cycles has lost my business. I ordered and paid for 2 oil change kits more than a month ago... I received 1. Still haven't received the other. Cancelled another order that I placed more than a month ago. The mantra I get is "we've moved to a new warehouse and hired employees who've never worked in a warehouse environment." The supervisor was actually pissed when I asked if they could read. I will never, ever order from this company again. Only gave them 1 star because I had to.

Try calling them to check on the status of a shipment. Since they didn't email a shipping status for something as small as a horn, I called them and was placed on hold for approximately 20 minutes. When their rep finally answered I was told, "We're waiting on the vendor." Really? After one week?! If they don't keep something as small as a horn in stock, good luck getting other parts delivered within a reasonable timeframe.

I ordered some stuff in late July. The package came in time, but the item was wrong.
For the last 2 weeks I've send their customer service 3 emails asking what they are going to do about it. Despite them saying they usually answer in 24 hours, I haven't received even a generic reply in 15 DAYS.
This is for sure the last time I do business with them, no matter how this turns out.

Ordered a V-Twin solo seat kit. Said it would fit my 01 Harley 883 Hugger. The bolts that came with it obviously did not fit. My mistake was not sending it back immediately so I set it on the shelf and said I would tackle it at a later date now it's just over a hundred twenty days and I contacted the helpline who said they're very strict about 120-day policy. Nobody's fault I guess except mine but you would figure when you ordered parts that they sell as a kit and say it fits that it would actually fit your motorcycle. I'm so frustrated I'm out $250 stuck with something I can't use. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to ordering from this company. Will never make that mistake again. While I'm at it never order anything from V-Twin manufacturing as they will not give you any customer service because they only deal with legitimate motorcycle businesses, not legitimate motorcycle customers of their products!

Their return policy is non existent. Even their manager Dennis Sweet stated it doesn't make sense. Do not purchase from JP if you need to return anything. Terrible business. With their customer service they should try through cable TV business. Shame on JP.

Gave Jp Cycle three different opportunities on three different big orders and each was messed up with billing, slow shipping, and excuse after excuse. They do not stand behind what they ship, and you can go to the manufacture direct of the parts they sale and talk to them and they dont have good things to say about Jp Cycle. Will never buy so much as a sticker from this company for any of my bike builds.

Business History

John Parham was bitten by the motorcycle bug early in his life. His enthusiasm led to a partnership in a small motorcycle shop from 1975 to 1979. In 1979 he and his wife, Jill, established J. Parham Enterprises, Inc., the predecessor to the present J&P Cycles, Inc. During this time, John still worked full-time and followed his "hobby" in the evening and weekends. In 1982 John was laid off from his factory job. Two years later, in 1984, their small motorcycle shop burned to the ground.
When they easily could have given up, they didn't! Instead, they decided to rebuild the shop, and run the business full-time. Today, J&P Cycles has grown from one employee to over 300. In addition to the Anamosa, IA location warehouse, in 2007 a new 35,000 square foot facility opened in Ormond Beach, FL. At Destination Daytona. The new location features a 15,000 square foot retail space and separate call center.
