I recently had a procedure and I was originally so afraid. The nurses held my hand and assured me that everything would be fine. Before i knew it, it was over. So much after care support. I am very happy at Kaiser
I have had a detached retina and subsequent cataract rendering me legally blind in my eye. Surgery was needed. Kaiser put me in line and made me wait 3.5 months for "elective" eye surgery. One week before surgery, Kaiser cancelled my surgery and said I had to wait three additional months. When I asked why I don't go to the front of the line since I've already waited three months, the brainwashed doctor(s) said that is not how Kaiser works. That will make six months of no work and income for my family. Why doesn't the State see Kaiser has signed up too many people, taking their 15k a year, and will not provide services. Since Kaiser is self-policed by having internal investigations for wrongdoing, they circle the wagons and keep on victimizing patients. California, step up and stop these atrocities from occurring. Stop them from signing up any more companies or patients until they can perform in a humane way.
My daughter is 3yrs old she has been having trouble with her bowel movement. We have took her to Kaiser over and over to get the run around. They have been constantly just telling us the same things, pear juice ex lax miralax none of these have worked for my baby. When we request blood work and some real test they schedule us a phone appointment. I am beyond frustrated with the Kaiser is handling my daughter. I have been with Kaiser for over 30 years but I'm currently looking for other health care.
With kaiser permanente and the protection from the union. They hire worker`s for the streets. Give them a title and wala. You think your dealing with someone that actually went to school and has a license. I have found this with nurses and pharmacist. Always ask for a license number and check it.

My father waited 2 months to get surgery. When it was 2 days before his surgery the Kaiser receptionist calls him to let him know they have to pick another date. No explanation why, just another date. When he asked what date, she said that she didnt have the schedule for the exact date. She would need to call him back. He had waited patiently for 2 months for this surgery, to get polyps out of his nose so he can smell and taste. Its been 2 weeks no calls yet when he will have surgery. They dont care.
I'm required to drive three hours to a Kaiser facility to get care. Why does Kaiser offer insurance to a county that providers don't accept? Why does Kaiser keep denying me care? Why did they increase my deductible amount to $9,000? Because they want to take your money but not offer care!
I have Kaiser and love it. I like it how my medical information can be looked at any Kaiser hospital so any doctor I see at any Kaiser hospital can see my medical records. I also like the cheap co-pay I pay for appointments. I would recommend Kaiser to anyone. The doctors at Kaiser are nice and the nurses are nice too. What I don't like is that Kaiser hospitals are not in every state. What I also don't like is that Kaiser is slow to offer new benefits and services in the Northern California Kaiser region. Most of the time these new features and benefits mostly become available in other Kaiser regions. Never the Northern California region. Such as the Colorado region and the Georgia region.
I feel bad for patience and staff. After covid administration and management are no where to be found and no way to be contacted. If you do not have access to the internet, It's even worse. What ever happened to customer service or customer care. This health care is terrible and getting worst. Same on the people who run this health care and the way they treat people. All though most of the staff are friendly and really want to help, the way they run this place will not allow or support them. I can only hope the people who run this place fall victim to the policies they put in place.
I pleaded with over a dozen doctors for help for months while I cared for my dying in-law. They reluctantly offered group counseling. I went to the first available appointment, was told I was too upset to participate, removed from the group, and my belongings were never returned. Nobody in any sector of administration or security ever returned my calls. I reported it to the police, and Kaiser responded by sending the police to my house for a welfare check. As if they cared now… after months of my pleading for help. They were trying to cover their lying butt. I tried endlessly to get help about their treatment, about stealing my things, about anything, and they caused so much more mental damage by gaslighting me that I have PTSD just driving by their buildings.
Tip for consumers:
Is there a way you can help someone list a review without wanting receipts because I had to burn them just to free myself from the trauma of hoping Kaiser would actually help me.

I spent 7 months of telling multiple Doctors at Kaiser that I was in pain and need to find out what was wrong. The reply I keep getting was your fine and no I won't give you pain meds. Did I ask for paine meds... no I did not, I do not like them pain meds.
After 7 months of pain and near sleepless nights, my symptoms got worse that I called a Kaiser Dr told me to go to nearest hospital. I went to different hospital and they discover a tumor in my spine that was slowly paralyzing me. I only got better because I went some where other then Kaiser.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use Kaiser Permanente

The Doctors that barely passed med school, some may have found a degree in a craker jack box
The pharmacy at colonial Forge will only fill 80% of my prescription for insulin from my doctor and then they tell me to get it refilled two weeks earlier but that will cost me $100 every time I get it filled so I have to come up with more money to fill a prescription that the doctor has written
I've had only good experience with Kaiser. I recently had COVID. Messaged my doctor and got a phone call within an hour from a doctor who advised an Paxlovid. The medication was delivered by a courier to my front door that afternoon. Got a message 3 days later asking how I was doing.
I tried calling the pharmacy and talk to a HUMAN instead of the COMPUTER! I could not get through to have my daughter's prescription filled cause I can't do it over the phone! I had to call the appointment line and speak to a representative and she put me through. Your phone system sucks! I cannot call and speak to anyone at any department! Where are all the admins.
There are many good people in the Kaiser organization. Sadly there is a bad element in the optical sales area. The tech said he was not lying he was just misinforming me. Any company can have a bad employee but it appears he was following the managements direction.
Lead times have have to unacceptable lengths. I have been with KPWA for over 10 years. Use.d to get appointments in 1 to 2 weeks. Now 7 weeks for primary care, 4 months for dermatology. Just diagnosed with severe carpet tunnel. Just to get a phone visit with surgeon is 8 weeks.
DMV needed a medical form filled out and faxed by a certain date. If it didn't happen, a driver's license was going to be suspended. I sent this form to the medical records office with the current name and driver's license number prefilled on every PDF page. But medical records sent the doctor a blank PDF form from the DMV website. And no one put the drivers license number on the form that was faxed. As a result, DMV says they never got the forms and we are looking at possible suspension of a driver's license. Not good. Not good at all.
When I went to pay my first bill, they kept not finding my account and forwarding me to different people's voicemail box. I ended up taking the entire day off work to deal with this, we are taking 5+ hours on the phone until I finally reached someone who could process my payment.
Today I went to pay online and couldn't submit a payment because my email wasn't verified. When I clicked the link in my email it took me to a 404 error... meaning there is no way for me to pay online and I have to keep calling these clowns every single month.
This company is absurdly inept.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from kaiser. Their customer service is an absolute nightmare. Expect to spend multiple hours on the phone anytime you want to pay a bill or talk about your account.

The Kaiser Bronze health package
I have had Kaiser since I was a child 1980's. It was really good back then. However, it has become a Monopoly and an inner city clinic. The quality of care has really gone downhill. It's a shame that Kaiser is the only HMO out there that is a all in one. That's what is desirable for a lot of older folks because they don't have to go all over to get bloodwork, x-rays etc. for what I pay in premiums-I should be able to go to a better facility with better qualified doctors and nurses. It's almost like I'm in A bad socialism healthcare system that I already pay for. So basically I'm paying for crap healthcare. Wish that Kaiser had other competitors that was in all in one facility.
I purchased Kaiser because It was the only option that my employer offered to me. Before that i had Blue cross Blue shied and it was great and apple health that was fair. I can say that Kaiser is the worse insurance that i have had. Limited locations. There is no clinic in my city and i have to go to another locations to see my family doctor. Limited Doctors and It is very difficult to make an appointment. Crowded urgent care and emergency rooms. They usually have not available room! In the emergency room, a doctor mistakenly visited my daughter while she was not a pediatrician at all! Do NOT BUY!
I have Kaiser their chiropractor broke my arm, he is in hiding Kaiser committed Medicare fraud, I have had 4 surgery's on my arm lost the use of my arm and Kaiser has had 15 months to step up and be responsible and to this day they still have not stepped up! Stay away from this corrupt insurance company it about the money not health care the CEO of Kaiser is paid 227 million a year. I a m going to attach the bind with the state of Colorado and Kaiser attorneys lie going after their attorneys also

If I could sue Kaiser I would. 2018 I went in to emergency for a gash in the leg. I told them my chest area didn't feel well. They took x-rays and ekg and sent me home. Didn't clean or look at my gash. Didn't look at my x-rays just charged me for them. I was back in the emergency room 8 days later with a full blown heart attack. My heart took 52 minutes to get started. They broke my ribs to save my life. I live in constant fear now. Had they took care of me 8 days before it wouldn't have happened. I was held against my will for at least 24 hours in all that. Telling me if I leave I have to pay the full bill, my insurance wouldn't cover. Shake my head at them. The worst. What caused my heart attack was also the lack of communication with my primary Dr about meds and blood work. They are bad and should be looked at closely. Shame on KAISER!

This is my first time visit by Dr. Sepideh Mirfakhraei, as a registered nurse in California I've never seen anyone Practitioner/ primary doctor like her, so respectful and welcoming manner, knowledgeable, good listener and so many more, specially during Covid! This doctor deserves many times 5 star reviews, unfortunately I can only place on time review. I believe people are working in this office are so blessed to have this doctor besides them, I wish I was her assistant.
My issue happened in Kaiser Permanente in Stockton, CA.
I have a level 4 cystocele and was scheduled for surgery; at the same time a total hysterectomy due to uterine fibroids was going to be done. All preoperative testing was done, and the day prior for the surgeries the doctor asked me if I hurt, I said yes. Based on my response he said he won't do the procedure, and because he refused, then the other surgeon refused as well. They told me to live with it. I was charged 17k for testing for two surgeries that weren't done, and I have to live in constant pain and incontinence because of it. I trusted this doctors to do the right thing, yet they both gaslighted me playing my issues as not important and minimizing my health and well-being. Now I live completely depressed and isolated, as I hurt so much and find no solution.
I enrolled in Kaiser Medicare Advantage in Feb 2020. I was told to come for a baseline physical with $0 copay. After the physical, I was billed for $10 copay. After my first visit to the Optometrist which EOC says has a $10 copay, which I paid, I was billed for an additional $30. Again I had a preventative colonoscopy which EOC says has $0 copay but I was billed for $40 after the procedure. When I called to dispute the charge, the member service rep threatened to hang up on me and refused to transfer me to supervisor. She offered to waive to copay as a one-time courtesy and not because they were wrong. Right now I am even scared to go for services because of the hassle of dealing with the overbilling. Check your bills from KP so you are not ripped off. I am done with them! GA, Member, Mid Atlantic States Medicare Advantage
I called Kaizer and asked them how can I send a message to my Doctor through www.kp.org. I was talking with them for 45 min. And at the end the lady could not figure out how I could do that and at the end she hung up the phone.
Tundre and Paula in the lab went above and beyond the call of duty. My lab oder expired when I went in last night. They called the doctor, it was 730pm, to get the order back in the system. Took a half an hour but the results were I could take my test. Love them both. It was my mistake but they fixed it. And happily.
I was on Kaiser for YEARS but mainly because it was the only viable option I had as a young teacher. I put up with REALLY bad doctors and horrible conditions because it was my cheapest option when I was young. I was young and healthy and I didn't really access health care in those days so I put up with the BS from Kaiser which was long waiting periods to access appointments and long times to hear back with lab results, etc... But more recently, they have made access to healthcare so hard. Driving 15 miles or more just to get vaccines or NO vaccines because they ran out. Driving miles to get care from specialists. They even reassigned my 91 year old mom to a dental clinic over 30 minutes away from her home. I am SO over Kaiser. Once I qualified for Medicare, I left them immediately. The plan I now have FOR FREE would have cost 170 dollars for WAY less care and benefits. Come on Kaiser, you can do better.
