While setting up autopay an extra payment came out of my bank account. I called in for over two months to get my money back. I was told a check was sent out but I never received it. Then I was told a credit would be applied to my account. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. Here comes the due date and I'm forced to pay. After waiting for so long I decided to have my bank reverse the extra payment. Well they made a mistake and reversed the wrong one and now I have a late payment on my credit report which tanked me and my sisters credit by over 50 points. I explained this to customer service and sent in a letter to their dispute team and all I got back was a letter saying it's accurate. It's extremely frustrating to be penalized for trying to be a responsible customer and make my payments on time. This is ruining my credit and my life I cannot have a late payment on my report for the next 7 years, I'm only 20. I've never been so frustrated with a company they couldn't care less about their customers or helping them. When you call customer service all they do is hang up or say there's nothing they can do to help. Had they refund me I wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. I feel bad because my sister co-signed and is now being dragged into this mess. Seriously Stay away and get a different car or finance through someone else.
You have major problems with your finance department, in order to pay on line! Figure your staff out.
Impossible to contact. Online access difficult. Agents unintelligible. All in all a horrible experience. Do NOT - I repeat - do NOT FINANCE WITH Kia.
This is not good place to finance a cars never explain all term and condition. I never seen like this in my entire life.
I never see this kind company. I paid off my kia sorento Feb. 17.2021. I do not have my title. I call every week but still l didn't get it.
There are things very wrong with Kia Motor Finance. I recommend DON'T EVEN THINK to lease a car with Kia Motor Finance because they will ask the remaining lease amount in 1 payment if you want to move and register your car in another state even you have a sales agreement to pay in 36 months. According to NJ DMV process, title needs to go directly from leasing company to DMV and Kia Motor Finance don't do that if you don't pay the full remaining balance that you agreed to pay in 3 years. Your Kia dealer don't help you with anything because they don't know the other state rules and they are just submitting your documents to Kia Motor Finance and expect you to deal with Kia Motor Finance directly. If they tell you that you can register your car with bill of sale DON'T BELIEVE that because it is not like that in all states so you will end up paying lease for the car that sitting in front of your apartment without any plate for 3 years! Even this is not written in your Bill Of Sale, they don't care and do NOTHING.
Great products, horrible finance company. I honestly think Hyundai/Kia have no idea how bad their financing arm is. Run from this Company! Use a Credit Union. I turned a leased vehicle in during one of their "pull ahead" programs, Kia agreed to pay up to 4 payments. To save capital, Kia never comes forth with the money. They simply wait until they sale the car at auction to get the cash. In the meantime they erroneously report to the three Credit Bureaus that you still have a balance. As of June 2017, they are still reporting a balance on a vehicle that was grounded in December 2016! They did a lease-end inspection and I have never received a copy of the inspection report. I guess their game here is to "find" excess wear and tear AFTER the car sales at auction and then bill you 6-7 months later. I was told that maybe the dealer didn't send in the paperwork, that I was seriously past due, or that they would probably sue me. Today they said that they had everything that they needed from the dealer on January 19th! This has been mental anguish. I have made 20 calls to them, disputed the balance through all 3 credit bureaus and went through the Consumer Finance Protection Board. Finally, they are going to send me something in writing saying that I have a balance with them. I will then be able to get an attorney. This has caused me a ton of grief when buying a home. I got on a three-way with KMF and the CB and Kia admitted that I didn't owe the money and my mortgage was approved. As of today, KMF is STILL reporting a balance! I have financed/leased 6 vehicles with them and have a 800+ credit score. I pay my bills.
This Company is way past unprofessional. I purchased a new Kia for my wife, got the incentives through Kia Motor Finance and paid it off within 30 days. I suggest you do the same. Take their incentives and move your business to a real financial institution. You will be much happier!
Maybe just maybe Hyundai/Kia will close their finance arm, move the business to a major bank, lay off a bunch of folks in Atlanta that don't appear to care about their jobs and doing the right thing anyway. They can save a TON of cash then. No real estate or payroll. What do you think Hyundai-Kia? 21st Century sound better?
If I refinance out of hell I owe you money. Y'all taking people money fake interests. Y'all should never Finance with Kia Motor Finance
Do NOT give Kia the time of day! This last 6 months has been h*** on earth, because of them. I bought a brand new Kia Soul, and within a few months was hit by someone coming into my lane on the highway. The police cited her, and her insurance paid out. The check sat on their table for months, because her insurance company kept trying to give it to Kia, but Kia literally would NOT accept it! Insanity! Before I fired my lawyers, they were on the phone with them, the other insurance company reps were on the phone with them, and even the guy I bought the car from said he regrets representing Kia in any way, after HE was on the phone with them. I was able to hold my tongue, but the other people I was 3-way-ing with, cussed them out, because they got so frustrated. They would answer and when they heard it was us, they would just put the phone down, or they would send us in circles. They even admitted that they had all the necessary paperwork, but no one would move on it. All of this is supposedly on a recorded line too. Sooo crazy! The crash happened July 30th, and they refused to accept payment until the first week in January. I had to call so many times and put up with their nonsense for hours each time. Thank God, the last time I called, there were signs of intelligent life! In addition, they ruined my credit -- dropped it by 100 points, because they kept charging me as late, when they were the ones not accepting payment. I pride myself on not missing payments at all -- never missed one! They ruined that. Now I have difficulty finding housing. That's what I have to fight next. And guess what? There's no number to call about credit disputes. It's just a P.O. Box. Now I have a Toyota lol...didn't like the Soul anyway, because it always felt like it might tip over on turns. It's cute, but not worth the hassle, believe me!
Before I bought out the lease, I ran across this site and got worried about the many negative reviews. But, I found the process to be reasonably pain-free. My only complaint is that communication from Kia could be greatly improved. They basically tell you to mail a check. I had ascertained that Kia's price included the residual value plus my final lease payment, state sales tax and fees, but there was no itemized list of everything, so it wasn't clear if Kia covered the cost of retitling the car. I sent in the check and a printout of their buyout offer. A week later, they contacted me via email with a link to a secured message site. I went to the site and it had 3 messages. One said that something was missing, but didn't say what. One confirmed that the lease buyout process had been initiated. The third asked me to send an odometer disclosure statement either by replying to the email or via fax. I replied with the completed mileage statement. The next day, Kia messaged me that it had completed the review of the lease buyout details and was working to request the leased vehicle's title. I wasn't sure if that meant that Kia was signing off on its title and I would have to apply for a new one with the state DMV or if they would send in the title and application to the DMV (along with the fee). I asked them in an email reply on the secured site but received no response. It turned out to be the former. Eleven days later they notified me that the title was being sent. I received it a couple days later along with a bill of sale (which confirmed that the purchase price included sales tax). I then completed a state DMV form online and sent the title and bill of sale to the DMV. Twelve days later I had my title. Overall, it worked as it should and the whole process took slightly less than a month, but there were many times when I was left wondering what exactly was happening and if I was doing everything I was supposed to. Anyway, I kept good records and made copies of everything. Luckily I didn't need them.
Unethical business, beware! Poor customer service, unfriendly, $7.95 to make a payment? Highly NOT recommended
The portrait of incompetence. It's pitiful how useless Kia Finance is. Just do yourself a favor and go to Toyota. Don't waste your time.
On March 21,2019, I overnighted a payoff check for my 2016 Optima via FedEx mail. I confirmed the address I provided to FedEx was correct via Kia Motor Finance representative and by checking the online website. The next day, on March 22,2019, my FedEx receipt shows Kia received and signed for my check. A few days later, Kia called me, and made me away my payment was never applied. In an attempt to determine why the check was not processed, I was hung Up on. When calling back my call was disconnected once again. Having to miss time from work to resolve this issue, I called back In, and again explained I had mailed In a pay off check. The representative apologized and told me she would escalate to why the previous representative were rejecting my calls. I was Warm transferred to a representative that told me payments take 10-12 days to process, she could not determine if she received my check, and that she would tell collections to stop calling me. I provided this representative with my tracking number for FedEx. On Monday April 1,2019, I received a Call from Kia Collections once again, but the representative again hung up on me. I was Once again transferred to Kia customer solutions and was told I needed to provide them with more details or to repeat the information I already provided to them, provide proof of check pay off, and information that should be located in Kias system. I engaged In a 3-way call, again this cut into my person work time, with my bank to provide more details regarding my check and proof it was sent. Kia then said they have no record of a check and a third party handles mail collection so "it's not their fault the check is lost". I have Been provided with no solution, I've been harassed by collections, mislead, and I've received late fees and soon a potential mark on my credit for a mistake they refuse to take responsibility of. I've lost time and I'm losing money. In the past Kia promised to replace a stolen spare tire and never did. This is not the first reported issue a person has had with attempting to pay off their car. Kia refuses to send titles, processes checks, and charge customers fees for mistakes they purposely make. They are making profit off not doing their job
Bought a car for my son 10/6/20 on 10/14/20 called to set up Auto Pay and Kia did not have the account set up I was told it was the dealership that did not send it in. I called the Dealership and they said that they are wrong and they always mislead people because KIA financial employees don't know what they are doing. I called Kia back and they said wait another week.
Today 10/27/30 called KIA Young girl answered and I had to hang up because of all the back crying
I called back and spoke to another young girl who again could not put sentences together yet alone answer your questions So I asked to speak to Supervisor I got someone named Eddy who again didn't really understand questions and sounded very young he stated my account was set today that I had to wait until 11/6/20 to make a payment to set up account even thought it took KIA 21 dats to set up my new account. So basically because of their incompetence I as a Customer had to make many calls including the dealership several times and will still have to do that to set up something that every company out there wishes their customers will do
This place has no clue how to treat customers, answer questions and treat customers so they can leave with a good experience but being that they are so unprofessional and young you can tell by their responses and inattentiveness that they could care less even Eddy the Supervisor which is why it prompted me to write this DONT USE KIA FINANCIAL YOU WILL REGRET IT LIKE I AM IT's GOING TO BE A LONG LEASE IF I HAVE TO KEEP CALLING THEM FOR HELP
I use to rave about Kia to my friends and family, I even talked my mom into buying one. Well that all changed the past couple weeks. I had called Kia to ask how to pay out my lease, I was told to just go to my portal and pay the buy out total. I did and months went by i never got my title paperwork and I didn't think much of it because I wasn't planning on selling any time soon. Then my car got stolen over a month ago and my insurance wants to pay it out but won't till the car title is in my name. When i called Kia to find out why the title wasn't in my name, they said I needed Odometer paperwork from when the car was paid out. Now remind you this is like 10 months later. I explained my situation that car is gone and he put me on hold, then came back said I don't need it and I am set. I would get paperwork in 7-10 days. I waited and nothing showed up. I called back again and they said you need to turn in your odometer paperwork and explained to them what the guy told me from week earlier said I didn't need the form. So I filled out the form faxed it (because I just wasted a week). I said I would call back 20 min to confirm it was received, to which they responded with, oh you have to wait 3 days for them to see it in their system. I am like why can't you physically look at it to tell me. Oh that is in another department. I say can I have their nunber/email. Oh no we don't have that information. I am like how does a big company like this not have a phone number? It's starting to feel like a scam. It's been over a week and they still can't confirm my fax has been received. I don't care how busy they are, that should be an easy thing to do. I am wasting so much time just getting this process started. I recommend do not buy a Kia through their finance department or just avoid Kia/ Hyundai all together.
It is amazing that you can walk out with a leased vehicle in a small part of an afternoon but to amend a lease it is a monumental, distasteful, onerous task. Still dealing with this process since March. Car is sitting unused since that time because of inability to register and insure BECAUSE KIA Finance archaic process that drags it out with seemingly no end. Maybe a refund of tied up months should be issued!
I finally receive the papers for the amendened lease at the end of May! So excited! But wait... it's not right. After having to fill out a credit application yes by snail mail on a vehicle lease where no money is owed the paperwork work is here! What is it that a credit application cannot be done electronically? You can do it electronically to get the car. But no it means st be done by mail! Ok. Done. Ammended paper shows a monthly payment due on a car that there is not any money due! A phone call to an agent was made and she needs to send an email to the "back office". She can't do anything it's all the mysterious back office, but I need to be on the line while the email is sent as well that will make some sort of difference. I get the canned response that I will receive a phone call. I am still waiting after two weeks for that phone call. If this wasn't so awful it would be hilarious. No one could devise a system like this and they cannot deal with the ball of wax they have created. I don't think Hollywood could write this stuff.
I will move on to another dreaded phone call to Kia Finance to see if I can get to the end zone. So sad.
Wish I had the contact info that someone at Kia Finance who might listen and look to revising their non working, frustrating, aggravating, archaic policy and system. I just need a lease. I have the car.
Ok. All kinds of issues assuming a lease after a death. Here's where the horror picks up again. Unfortunately this replaces my last post. After 3 years/affadavit/will and confirmation the lease is in my name here's what happens. We decide to purchase the car. Check cashed, now wait for confirmation. Finally arrives and dead relative returns from the dead and purchases the car with me! Yay I miss this individual. Wait no that can't happen.Kia will not break from there routine. Wait 3-10 business days they say. 5 weeks later nothing. Another obnoxious call to NonCustomer Service. Wait we will send it by fax or email. We have no land line so no fax. Please overnight it I say it's your mistake. No can't do that not our policy they say. You must wait. If you want to know anything you must call back in 3-5 days we can't call you. Meanwhile the car registration is due. Kia does not care. I have never dealt with such a poor NonCustomer Service Dept. Kia has it set up so that you can never speak to anyone above the escalation department which has the same effectiveness as the routine customer service dept. and both stink really bad.
Learned at RI DMV that title was signed on the "Buyer" line by Hyundai Lease Titling Trust. Title is void. Sent a letter, RI form MVT 10 (need this to obtain a new title), and clear description of what I need to receive. Sent overnight via FedEx, have signature confirmation. 1st followup: documents are in process, target completion 3-5 days. 2nd followup resulted in learning 1) they have no record of the FedEx 2) there are no notes entered in my "file" 3) "we can send an email titling to get an update", but 1) they cannot copy me on the email and 2) they will not call me to share what they learned. 3). Attempted 3rd (and 4th) followup, Customer Service message states they are open 8 AM to 5 PM Central time, immediately message states "we are closed"….at 4:20 PM Central time. 4) Filed a case with Kia only to find out Kia Titling they are different companies. (At least the main Kia Customer Service had the decency to send an email!)
Will try again tomorrow AM….but fully expect to get another runaround. My next step will be to have an Attorney send a "Demand Letter" to get the freakin' form I need to register the vehicle.
NEVER AGAIN….love the car, but the fight to get Kia Finance to fix THEIR ERROR is exhausting.
And, since I am past-due to register the vehicle, I will have to pay penalties and interest when (IF) I register the vehicle.
Reading all these awful reviews really validates my experience. I owned 2 Kias. The cars were fine, but Kia finance is TERRIBLE. They asked me to bring my leased car in early, and I did just that, and leased a new Kia. I had one payment left to make on the previous lease, and that was supposed to be taken care of. (This would make sense, since THEY asked ME to bring my car in early.) Months later I received a late notice for it a payment (on the previous lease) from Kia and threats that they were reporting me to collections. I made many phone calls, each time talking to a different person, who seemed to have no record of my issue. Finally, Kia sent me a letter that said my account was "paid at full" and I did not owe anymore money at that time. Paid in full! I have that letter! So, I thought I was all set, but then I found out a few months later that they had still been reporting me as having a late payment--now up to 90 days delinquent. I've always had excellent credit, and I only found out they were doing this when I went to get a student loan for my daughter's freshman year in college. I was mortified. I tried to call Kia about it, but got nowhere. Finally I made the missing payment just to be done with it, even though I knew I didn't owe it. Then, I asked them to remove the negative credit reporting, as it was making it hard for me to get my daughter's student loan. They said the only way I could do that was to--get this--write a letter to the Disputes Department. I could not call them, or contact them electronically. I actually had to write a freakin letter (and it wouldn't have surprised me if they said I had to have it delivered by the Pony Express.) So I wrote a letter. Then I waited a MONTH. I finally received a cursory letter back that denied Kia did anything wrong--but no more details. Apparently, I cannot talk to anyone, and I don't know why they don't think they did anything wrong. It's infuriating. It damaged my credit, and therefore my life. I wish there was a court case going forward on this because I would gladly join it. This company is HORRENDOUS!
They suck. Nothing more to say, amazing products sucky service. Kia finance motor sucks, the folks at the dealership suck more. They are incompetent
Answer: Legit but act like a scam. Terrible customer service.
Answer: Same here. Time to band together to seek justice. KIA makes very good vehicles. Their finance division is atrocious. Going back to Mazda, or Toyota. KIA don't want to be ya! After 10 years and 3 vehicles you have lost my business!
Answer: Poor customer care. I can't believe nobody looks able to help us. They are paying propery taxes to the city of Stamford and we don't leave there anymore
