Very Bad customer service. Charged me over CDN$600 for 1.5 hour personal trainer fees with f... Alyssa after I asked to cancel the service due to past and future surgeries. Stay away from LA Fitness in Cambridge. I hope they will close them the same as Kitchener LA Fitness facility.
I've been a member since it opened. I'm ready to quit. I only use pool. Broken tile near showers where people walk barefoot. I go in at 9:00 am, facility opens at 8:00 am. The toilet rooms are not cleaned properly. The pool coping has black mold. The inside of lockers have not been cleaned in months. Shower tiles also are moldy. I used to love going there, not anymore. When you first check in, young people don't greet you. They just stare. Unfriendly. Poorly trained in customer service. When I first joined, the club was ideal. Don't waste your money.

I paid up front for a 3 for 2 kind of deal. I paid an amount total for 2 years but and the concept was clearly explained to me as "paying up front of 2 years and I'd get the 3rd free." I knew I'd be here a while but they also gave me access to every non-signature gym in the nation which has also worked out great! Gyms have been relatively clean and equipment that breaks is usually fixed in a timely manner. Anyone who goes often will have enough options to choose if other machines are broken or occupied.

Ongoing issues with some L. A. Fitness facilities. Currently going to Glenside/Abington. Multiple treadmills are not operational at any given time. The inside temperature is VERY hot, even on cooler days... more hot and humid inside than outside! I've complained to the front desk and the facilities manager; was told the corporate office sets the temp. It's not even safe.
Our Personal Trainer ( J Y) is experienced and knowledgeable. Both my wife and I are happy with our training routines. Our Trainer corrects any misused techniques and is quite knowledgeable on the Human Anatomy assuring we do our exercises correctly to resolve and strengthen any weak points.
Very patient, very friendly and easy to work with, we highly recommend "J Y" as a personal trainer.

LARGO, FLORIDA: The leadership at this club is so unprofessional. They removed the only fan in the Group X room and the AC can't catch up. The Esporta Website states that there need to be a healthy temp of 68-72 with humidity under 50%. It's not happening & the managers are unable to correct the issue.See photos from 5/31 and 6/2 with temps over 76 and humidity over 68%. Just a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Thought about joining LA Fitness Pasadena (Rosemead) and stopped in for a tour. "We need your credit card to I.D. you if you get hurt"- a little weird, but ok. Left after 20". Crowded with long lines waiting to use equipment. Not so clean or special. 1 hour later I received a text from the credit card company — LAFitness debited the card for almost $250 in new member, initiation fees.

Do not give your credit card to LAFitness under any circumstances…. Unless you want to pay LAFitness for something you don’t want or didn’t ask for.

Canceled membership due to moving. Now getting harassment calls saying I still owe and that my membership isn't canceled. Received confirmation of cancelation online. Typically gym bull$#*!. So we go to gym and Mitch is doing a good job of explaining. When this little $#*! who refused to give name got upset that he was talking to us. Scorpion tattoo on neck. Then she refuses to talk to me. Little $#*! needs to mind her manners. Will never be back.
I have been a member of LA Fitness for over 3 years and would like to end my membership. Immediately after the gym reopened, I have had staff calling me multiple times a day to try and get a payment. When I told them I no longer wanted membership I was told if I didn't pay I would be sent to collections. When I asked to speak to a manger the woman stated she was the manager and continued to threaten collections. I am shocked at how terrible this customer service has been involving ending membership and their handling of these matters especially with COVID... Super disappointing!
Vanessa, the manager of Federal Way LA Fitness is most unprofessional. She insulted and humiliated me terribly. She "helped" me yelling and screaming on me and after that she blamed me that "you are VERY RUDE"and told me got out because she finished speak with me!"
Just because I didn't understand why should I pay to"unfrozen" my membership. It is free service by LA Fitness website but She forced me to pay $20.00.

I like la fitness facilities and I used to love the group instructors, the body works plus abs class was always full, unfortunately jayde has been the instructor for about 3 months she is the worst instructor, we tried to talk to her but she doesn't care, she just said that we are not fit ( I have been exercising for 20 years), management should notice that only 6 or 7 people attend her classes. The only reason I am still a member is because Rakia is teaching once per week ( her class is full)
I had members for my 2 boys in Burnsville, MN. After one year I wanted to terminate my service coz we were moving. Customer Service insisted that I should freeze my account and gave me his email address to proceed once I travel. I sent email but no reply. After 3 month they have been still taking money from my account then i was told by his supervisor that the email service doesn't even work. I requested to terminate my service again and to be refunded. It took another 2 month to sort out after going back and forth. I was insulted and humiliated by the customer service and his supervisor was aware he didn't even apologize. All I asked was to deactivate my membership and refund the money that was withdrawn from my account with out my approval. At last I had to call USbank to block them. So don't do direct payment if you have to deal with LA fitness. Once you want to cancel it is a huge deal to get rid of them.

I felt really disappointed with this company. When I choose this gym, the person who attended me didn't tell about many charges I will have during this membership. I had told and made many complaints about how frustrated I was and this company didn't mind about it. I just won't go to this place again and I will tell everyone I know to exercise in another place that is more honest with their clients.
I have had many issues throughout the years at the LA Fitness in Laurel MD. The reason I stuck with that gym was because it is the only gym in Laurel with heavy bags for a cheaper price as I don't want to go to an MMA gym or something just to hit the bag and pay more monthly. Now, their bags are always broken and they do nothing about it, renovated gym or not it's annoying. For 3 weeks I wasted my gas just to go and see the bags all broken in the same position. Some of the members and I are very frustrated with this, we told the staff and all they said was we will get to it. 3 weeks later, they still never got to it or even care. I had the last straw and just walked out, this is just one of their many issues. I could write a whole book and sell it called "Why I wouldn't go back in the snakes mouth" just about sums up how bad their gym and staff still is after 7 years. I just quit and wouldn't recommend atleast this LA fitness to anyone.

I lost my personal trainer due to a promotion so the person I signed up I no longer got and he didn't seem to care…no one did. There was no branch manager to talk to - just a coropate associate in CA that only said "the contract says..." They were very degrading and no help. I lost over $1,000 with no personal training to get out of the contract abs cancel my membership. They refused no money back. Just to extend the time to use the sessions. No help whatsoever!

Considering I don't pay that much for the membership, From a cost to service ratio. I would give it a 4 star rating. I don't think any gym could get a 5 star unless you had a lot of money and had a very swanky club. So for what it is, a normal working class gym. I would say it is pretty good. BUT... the thing is, depends on what club you go to. There are some ghetto ones that I would avoid but there are pretty decent ones that are on par with some more expensive-type gyms out there. All in all, I've had a good experience with LA Fitness and would recommend them to others... or wait, maybe I shouldn't because then the gym gets busier... just kidding. ALSO! They have raquetball courts! A big plus in my book.
SCAMMM! They charged us a $1000 fee for cancellation? It was originally $3000 but they LOWERED it down to $1000, oh how humble. The guy was very pushy and made us sign up for personal training when we clearly kept denying it. We then saw we had the chance to cancel UP TO 10 DAYS but they didn't care. They only want your money and trick you when you first join as a member! Stay away.

Recently joined for Yoga classes at 4:30 pm, M-W. Club is staffed by wet behind the ears kids who "like" don't know the answer to any of your questions. They sit slumped in their chairs doing whatever it is they are doing on their mobile devices. First time, studio was absolutely freezing. No one knew how to shut off fans at least. Second time, no email blast was sent to members regarding the time of operation for Labor Day. Third time, Monday's Yoga instructor is out for surgery. NO SUBSTITUTE WAS SCHEDULED! Again, no email advising this. Yikes, go yhete yo no avail! Really, a poorly run gym. I am a newbie and laid out 1st 2 months, plus start up and annual fee@$189. LOST IT ALL. Again, unless you are a kid dressing the fitness fad and daddy paying your way and you don't take the classes, maybe this gym is for you.
I was a member of Bally's before LA Fitness was started. Saw a female wearing a shirt that said "No Lives Matter until Black Lives Matter". The workers don't care about all the rule violations, they're lazy and don't care about much of anything.
So, I have had a membership with LA Fitness for many, many years with really no issues. However, time to renew and I'm now told I do not have access to certain "signature" clubs", which I had NEVER been made aware of. A new club went up right around the corner from my house…. It is NO BIGGER, offers NOTHING that the other clubs don't offer, and they cram machines in so closely that it's hard to get around. So, the ONLY way it's different is that it's newer…big whoop. For no known reason it is considered "signature". They want to TRIPLE my membership fee to gain absolutely nothing but proximity. SERIOUSLY?! Nobody would make any kind of concession. If I could give zero stars I would.
Lack of instructors for the cycle classes makes the membership not worth it. I've emailed corporate and there has been no resolution! Very unhappy stuck paying $44 a month for 2 memberships.

I am not a new member and I went here at my lunch time to walk for about 20 minutes quickly and get back. After scanning my member Id the lady told me that I did not have a picture on file and that I needed to show Id. I had no Id on me only my keys in hand. I told her I was in a hurry and I was an old member to verify my information on the computer. My date of birth, address, phone number etc. I went back to my car and returned with my Id and showed it to them and told them that because they gave me a hard time I WAS NOT STAYING. They could have let me in and told me to bring my Id next time. Not frienly, rude, and did not want to help me inspite of them being a new place. I will continue to go to the gym I always go to. I have had no problems there.
My mom was stiff-armed into a membership. She tried to cancel next day, sales staff made her cry w guilt for leaving and at first told her she could not cancel. This was the King of Prussia location
