I had a water leak in my kitchen due to issue with the reverse osmosis system.
It leaked all the way through the floorboards into a downstairs room causing damage there as well. Liberty Mutual sent out a remediation team who then proceeded to rip out the flooring, damaged cabinets and put up braces, sticking out over the kitchen sink and island. It has been that way for 11 months. I had to hire a Public Adjuster to help me with my claim.
Liberty Mutual did their best to try to not acknowledge my claim. Recently, they finally agreed to pay out on my claim and of course they are lowballing me. My home has been like living in a construction zone for the past 11 months and still nothing is fixed or replaced, my premium is also high as well. This is completely unacceptable, especially since I pay my homeowners insurance every month rain or shine and I have to live in a home that's hardly functional. I believe Liberty Mutual is acting in bad faith and they are not exercising due diligence, or ethics for that matter. I would definitely not recommend Liberty Mutual as an insurance carrier, they are the absolute worst.

Utter disappointment

Liberty mutual should be embarrassed of themselves. Tricia Ramirez has been in the radar for fraudulent activity when handling clients accounts and personal information. If you do business with this company be ware. There is terrible reviews about this person being a fraud and using people's personal information to do illegal things.

Denied Claim

My car, which was in mint condition, was hit in a parking lot while it was sitting still. The man who hit me has Liberty Mutual Insurance. They paid to have my car fixed. However, when I try to sell my car, it will show that it has been in an accident and I will lose money. This has happened before! I asked for a diminished value claim for some amount of reimbursement. Not only did they deny the claim, but the agent was also rude.

Bait and Switch Tactics

I switched 4 autos and two homes to Liberty Mutual from Geico last year. Liberty gave me a very good price at that time. Upon renewal, the canceled my Landlords insurance with no good explanation other than they would not provide coverage for this type of policy in the state of Virginia. Please note I had no claims for either home insurance or car insurance, and no car accidents or tickets. My primary home policy premium was quoted an increase of over 50%, as well as my cars, which I rarely drive. I read on Business Insider that Liberty often uses this bait and switch tactic to lure you in with attractive rates, then raise rates upon renewal drastically. Please beware. I canceled both my remaining policies with them and switched to a more transparent and fair insurance company.

I was given the incorrect information regarding the due date of my last payment, and subsequently, my policy was canceled. They then requested that I settle the outstanding amount on the canceled policy before they would initiate a new policy, which I would need to pay in full. They were utterly uncooperative in resolving their mistake.

Horrible Experience

Liberty Mutual does not take responsibility when their employees provide incorrect information. I contacted them to inquire about any fees associated with canceling my policy and was advised that there were none, and that I was paid up to date. However, after my policy was canceled, I was charged over $300 because the employee provided incorrect information. Had I known the stipulations, I would have waited until the end of the policy term to make any changes. I reached out again to have the fee waived, as my decision would have been different had I been given the correct information, but the company does not want to take responsibility for the misinformation provided. It is also very disappointing that the communications from the supervisor handling the issue were delivered with an attitude and without the use of spell check, which is very unprofessional.

All I needed was to to speak to underwriting. Responding to THEIR letter! To this day I spoke with 9 different representatives and gave me 3 different numbers for the underwriting department and none go to underwriting lol 🤦‍ thank god this isn't my insurance company. Geico I love you guys

Your new ad with Taylor Novlan is ridiculous. He sounds like a dumb idiot. I guess he doesn't dislike presenting himself this way. I don't see how this is going to help the sale of your ins. He is ridiculous. A downgrade from his former acting stint

Home claim
December 19, 2023

I reported a claim to liberty mutual for my home roof. They sent me an email with the amount I would be getting to pay for the roof. I received two checks totaling ******* and was advised that upon roof completion, I would receive a final check for 8000. Liberty mutual called me to inform me they were mailing the check to me but when I asked the amount of the check, he said 3000. I am being short cheated out of 5000 and I owe 7000 on the roof. So, am I supposed to pay out of my pocket?

Horrible company widespread apathetic and useless first line agents when trying to resolve and issue - ABSOLUTELY no leadership accountability or escalation process - simply told that an email would be sent to supervisors and they would get back to us in 24-48 hours - not sure what kind of new math they use but it's been over 96 hours with no leadership contact despite multiple calls per day requesting supervisor contact.
Wholeheartedly recognizing their company errors but ABSOLUTELY NO WILLINGNESS OR ABILITY TO RESOLVE. Meanwhile I am left with 3 cars with suspended registrations due to their error and no resolution in sight.
Abominable customer service they should be shut down for stealing customers money and fraudulent business practices

Avoid Liberty Mutual
August 20, 2022

State Farm raised my insurance by $26 a year yet my driving record is clean, I have no violations and on top of that my car is getting older.

I thought I'd shop around and online I got two different quotes for the same policy with Liberty mutual being $23 or $28 a month. Today I decided to call Liberty Mutual and spoke to Justin and then later Marie.

I had hopes that this will be a great price considering all these discounts they were going to give me. Bottom line they ended up being """$152 more""" than State Farm. Marie told me, 'Well our online quotes are different to our customer service quotes.' Am I missing the point here isn't this the same company whether you do it online or over the phone?

As for the price I was totally disgusted.

False advertising

Has anyone experienced automobile insurance quotes from Allstate and Liberty Mutual as advertised on TV ever day? What I have found out is, they advertise to give savings of over $400.00, which I found out was not true. In my case their quote were higher than what I was paying. Their advertisement is false and misleading the public and should be stopped.

Spam a day...

I get an email a day advertising Liberty Mutual Insurance hosted by the same old website and I have reported it countless times to the companies email abuse address and get no results. The only conclusion one can come to you is either Liberty Mutual is paying somebody to spam or they support spammers because they're getting rich off the traffic driven to their website. I refuse to do any business with any company that allows unwanted advertisements to continue. I hope others take notice to this Behavior and refused to do business with them as well.

Keep away

I do not think you could find a worse insurance for appliance repairs if you tried.
Expensive, poor customer service, and forever trying to weasel out of paying for repairs or replacing the broken appliance. And if you have "high-end" appliances like Bosch, forget it; they will not cover "high end appliances" or they will insist you pay extra $$ to have them serviced. Save yourself a whole lot of headaches and don't make the mistake of choosing this company - as we did, unfortunately!

When I started the policy I was told if I added homeowners insurance I would get a better quote. They said my 1974 manufactured home was not possible to insure but I could get the same rate by taking the renters policy even though I own my home. I signed up and everything was good until renewal. Without notice to me they took off the discount because the renters policy didn't quality for the discount. They automatically debited an additional 100.00 a month on top of the premium I was paying. Tried to resolve, terrible customer service. I cancelled and now they have withdraw another 368.00 leaving me overdrawn
Disputing, filing complaint.

Liberty Mutual sent me all of my policy renewals with letters thanking me for being with them for over 17 years and then proceeded to charge me more than any other company. What a way to say thank you. Huh?

Liberty Mutual

I am pursuing a refinance on my home and had to supply the mortgage company with homeowner's insurance info. When I submitted it, I was told it didn't include replacement cost on my home. I looked into it, and sure enough, no replacement coverage. Liberty Mutual had sold me insurance that didn't cover my home if it had burnt to the ground! When I call LM about the situation, they said it would cost more, so, of course, I said to add it. But then they added a supplemental 20% coverage I had not even requested. At that point I began pursuing homeowner's insurance elsewhere and I was able to get a policy with similar coverages for $800 less per year. Bottom line is, don't use LM for your insurance needs. They issued me a policy at a lower price without the needed coverage on my home, just so I'd accept the price, all while trusting them. They're overpriced and will not give you the appropriate coverage.

Worst company ever I never thought I would be going through this with an insurance company. Can't get in touch with the adjuster they don't respond and drag the feet to get anything done. I'm switching asap… over it!

This is by far the worst Insurance Company I've ever had to deal with in my life. They are not willing to be helpful in any way and are not personable at all. You must do all the research and make all the calls. You must take the time off of work, without being reimbursed, to drop off and pick up your car, they say they'll give you a comparable rental car, but it's not even close to what you own? They care nothing about the people and ALL about their bottom line. They basically push you to file with your own insurance to save you the headache they cause. As if a car accident isn't bad enough.

I had the worst experience ever after a flood happened in my kitchen. The claims rep, Winnie Pang did everything she could to delay paying for my damages or expediting the process. When I spoke with her boss, Jennifer she was no help at all and stopped accepting my calls. I had to pay for the repairs out of my own pocket since the kitchen was tore down for weeks and the sink was not useable during this period. After weeks of wrangling with them they finally offered me a low ball settlement that was hundreds below what I actually paid. There are a bunch of crooks running this company. I asked to elevate my complaints and was refused. Don't say you weren't warned. Buyer Beware!
