“Avoid they have serious security breaches”

Wayne D.

I've been a LinkedIn user for quite some time and have spent years building my connections. Recently, my account was hacked, and when I reached out to LinkedIn for help, they responded by sending a password reset link. Unfortunately, this reset link was sent directly to the hacker. I then received several emails, one notifying me that my password had been reset, followed by another saying that my two-step verification had been changed, and finally, one stating that my name had been altered. LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, essentially handed my account over to the hacker. If you are a business or someone seeking work, I would caution against using LinkedIn, as their support is extremely poor, and it seems easier for hackers to gain access to accounts than for legitimate users to recover them.

Since my initial attempts to use LinkedIn in 2016, my experience has been anything but awful. Time and again, I've meticulously provided detailed and accurate information, especially during my endeavor to establish a business profile. Despite all my efforts, I'm consistently met with account restrictions.

What heightens my concerns is the noticeable absence of a reliable customer support system. It's baffling that a platform as renowned as LinkedIn doesn't seem to have a straightforward channel for users to reach out, seek clarifications, or address pressing issues. I've scoured their help sections and made numerous efforts to get in touch, but to no avail. Without answers and lacking clarity on these recurrent restrictions, I'm left feeling marginalized and unheard.

The core essence of platforms like LinkedIn is to foster professional connections and opportunities. But when users, particularly businesses, can't rely on the platform's consistency or obtain requisite support, it severely undermines its very purpose.

It's with genuine disappointment that I've decided to step away, hoping that in the future, LinkedIn might offer a more transparent, communicative, and user-supportive environment.

I gave them full information about my business, such as official websites, phones, emails.

Government is accepted my documents, but not LinkedIn. What are you LinkedIn? Just an awful company registered by some students who don't have time to create normal support system.

I even registered this time for premium as a business. But still restricted. If they will take money from my card I will sue them.

LinkedIn is the worst company I've ever seen in my life! It seems they love bad reviews about themselves. I see there are many bad reviews.

Thanks to the internet I found alternatives.

There are listings for jobs that don't exist. All of my info was sold by someone and now all of it has ended up on the dark web.

You get job references without a resume based on your experience. It's also a great way to keep in touch with colleagues.

They promote serial rapists such as Rama Varanasi@ Broadcom and block all victims. They only care about making money don't care about social justice or women getting rape. The block all victims from using their site and promote serial rapists to gainful employment and support them to rape more women. They have very serious criminal intent and moral defects.
In 2020, I file complain that their user R, sending his resume to women to gain their trust in order for him to gain opportunity to rape them. After their review, they block me from using their site. They further promote the serial rapist after he was fire by Equinix in 2020 for raping countless women in the bay area especially target Chinese women. What if their wives and daughters are being rape by the serial rapists? They don't care. They only care about making money for themselves.
The R says they are not scare of police. Police here are known to be lazy and not doing anything.
I report him to the police. But the police say unless the woman is hospitalized or die they don't care. They will not document any sa report. What? The police here are too lazy.
The rapists say they and the police are friends and if we make trouble for them the police will arrest us and put us in jail. These Indian rapists are federal felons.
Since they support the federal criminals to commit crimes, they should be ordered to close the business.
May the Lord judge them.

Tip for consumers:
Don't associate with their male workers. Apparently, I have been filing complaints for months and no one responds. God says these Indian rapists are very wicked. They always devise scheme to trap and rape women. They should all be deported by the end of the year. The government keeps extending their working visa is criminal.

Products used:
I end up getting sexually assaulted by their employee, Rama Varansi. First, he invited me to lunch then he stripped me naked and I passed out until the next day. Don't support this criminal company to rape women. Thanks.

WRONGFUL BILLING, IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT THEM FOR FIXING THEIR MISTAKE! I would have never expected this kind of behaviour from LinkedIn, never! I thought it was a legit business working with legit manners and had to find out the worst way that they will go to extremely poorly services in order to TAKE MONEY FROM YOU! I have been using LinkedIn for many years and have subscribed the premium category twice, for some months. Never got anything from it. But this is not the issue for my review. My problem was when I decided to try the job posting service, cancelled it after 5 days, but they kept on billing me for a whole next month! Also, the price they announce is before tax and they don't say it anywhere. Seriously, I feel robbed! I tried to contact them by every means I could find (almost a day to find a way, such is their unwillingness to support their customers and correct mistakes!) and never got an answer. I truly had the idea that LinkedIn was a prestigious company and now I feel they are like a scam working behind a facade of prestige.

Obviously this site is very professional. It is a networking and quasi-social site revolving around your professional persona. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 for me is that I don't know that it actually does anything for me.

Sure, I can network to my heart's content - but I'm not finding job listings there. Sure, I can read lots of industry related articles but I can read those at a number of sites. Sure, employers can read my profile information and send me messages if it fits their bill but they can do that at most job sites.

It's a very solid site with a pretty sleek and easy-to-use interface. I would bump this to a 5 if the actual job listing functions were a bit more robust.

REASONS TO USE
[1] Interface is simple and easy to use
[2] Professional substitute/equivalent to facebook - you can avoid all the facebook drama
[3] It can, potentially, teach you a lot about your own personal, professional persona

REASONS TO LOSE
[1] Not a very robust job search utility
[2] Pesters you to add more to your profile even if it's finished and requests to get into your email to find contacts to add (repeatedly)

1 Star because I could not grade at Zero stars!

Kept locking my account, gave me no way to contact, sent Drivers License to validate - immediately after - 1 hr - they sent response that my account was permanently suspended. No reason given. I had been a LinkedIn Premium customer with over 7000 connections previously. Naturally I was adding dozens of connections I had known in the past immediately upon rejoining - Locked me out and treated me like a criminal with NO COMMUNICATIONS WHAT SO EVER SAVE WAVING AROUND VAGUE AND NEBULIOUS COMMUNITY STANDARDS VIOLATIONS ON REJECTING MY LEGAL/VALIDATION CREDENTIALS!

No way to speak with anyone - at $60+ a month a phone / help desk and an email for communications is a bare minimum - shocking disrespect for customers. Once locked out of account you can't do anything - can't issue trouble ticket, nothing - no means to communicate! Shocking and I am telling as many people I can about their brazen disrespect for their customers! Can't say anything good about the company ZERO!
