This is an excellent app for getting jobs online and also an excellent platform for getting online work and jobs the best feature is that this is an excellent platform to promote your business online
I've been a LinkedIn user for quite some time and have spent years building my connections. Recently, my account was hacked, and when I reached out to LinkedIn for help, they responded by sending a password reset link. Unfortunately, this reset link was sent directly to the hacker. I then received several emails, one notifying me that my password had been reset, followed by another saying that my two-step verification had been changed, and finally, one stating that my name had been altered. LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, essentially handed my account over to the hacker. If you are a business or someone seeking work, I would caution against using LinkedIn, as their support is extremely poor, and it seems easier for hackers to gain access to accounts than for legitimate users to recover them.
This site is not truthful about its membership rolls. When a member decides to leave LI for whatever reason, and deactivates their profile, LI still counts them as participating, with a profile member. This practice is disingenuous, and deceitful to those advertisers and investors who believe these falsely inflated numbers. LI also practices censorship, is a protected sanctuary of god drones and bots. Pretension abounds.
I managed to get to the 30k connections thresh-hold. And decided to do a clean-up.
It's practically impossible. There is no way of deleting connections without wasting countless hours to do it. They allow you to view your connections and delete them directly as long as you don't filter them because after you do that, you have to go on each profile individually in order to delete them. Also, if you are patient enough to go through this manner, it will send you to the top of the list after each deletion - meaning, you have to scroll down through 15-20-25-30k of people every single time :O This is INSANE!
Very poorly thought when it comes to this aspect. If tomorrow I change my job and work something totally different, i can't use my account at all :)
I think a profile on LinkedIn it's a must for everyone who cares about his career. I like it because it helps me stay in touch with old work colleagues. My profile thee helped me get my last job.
What I don't like about it is that I get quite a lot of spam connection requests from headhunters but I think this is a small downside of having a public profile.
I submitted a request for a high level account breakdown/summary based on a spreadsheet I was given, and Nerdify's data analyst really helped me understand the best manner in which to make sense of the information. They were incredibly responsive and answered all my questions in a timely manner, and gave me the means to come up with projections and a compelling presentation. I healthy recommend them for data analytics since they're excel masters!
As someone off the road, I can't really show up for an interview at any given time just to be declined or to get a maybe. Using this site I can set up a virtual interview and get an answer right away.
They advertise salaries but don't pay anywhere near what they advertise. Their insurance is extremely expensive. Their PTO is the worst I've ever seen; 5 days AFTER a yr and forever. The environment is unethical, boundaries are not acknowledged, extremely unprofessional & dishonest. The one pro is free parking and the owners wife is amazing.
LinkedIn has become another spot where they violate your 1st amendment rights and they listen to cry babies and then they sit there and restrict your account because there's too many freaking babies out there that like to make comments but can't handle it when someone comments back to them.
This is a good introductory book for those who are new to LinkedIn. I am familiar with a lot of the content within, and I did get a couple of valuable new tips on how to determine the relevant keywords to include in my profile. There was some new information on how to use tools like Google for this.
I see this and use the site as a business platform, to both promote and find other professional services. I probably do not use the site well, and because I am so busy and receive a lot of word of mouth referrals I don't use Linked in to it's full potential. I could do with learning how to use it more effectively. But I like the way it links to so many professional companies and people.
I created an account and was then asked to verify my identity, which I did. Only to be permanently restricted from my account. When I asked why, they refused to tell me. I created a new account and the same thing happened. They refused to unlock my account. For both accounts I literally created the accounts and then logged on once or twice. All information on the accounts is the truth and can be verified. They are now refusing the answer any emails.
I subscribed with linked in premium for a trial for a 30 day period. I was expecting a monthly renewal after the expiration and I see a yearly charge to my account. I spoke to customer service and asked her if this was a default set option of yearly renewal and she refused to speak about it any further and before I could complete my conversation, she shut the chat window on me. Now I see that I was charged for the trial period and there is no way to reach customer service. Overall a terrible experience
Unfortunately if you aren't on Linkedin you will be judged - unfairly. I've applied for jobs only to have the hiring manager ask me why I'm not on Linkedin like it's some sort of professional sin. Also many companies only post jobs on Linkedin now. Most of the people on the site are egotistical narcissists who can't stop ranting and raving about how successful, smart and talented they are. And the old line don't compare yourself to others? Well that is exactly the point of Linkedin, hell that is point of all social media and basically what is wrong with our world today.
I have a lot to say about this website but I will keep it short.
This website lack interacting and communication with others. Looking for a Job hope you have a Outstanding resume and profile, cause you ain't getting one with out it. By the way, if your a blue collar worker, don't even waste your time signing up if you don't have a college degree. Yes you will connect with others but finding a job on there is stupid low. LinkedIn is a easy way for your employer to see what your doing. I have more to say but ill stop here..
I opened an account 3 months ago. Unfortunately, I do not find great job offers, or nothing that actually suits my profile.
Maybe I would find more relevant offers if I had a little bit more work experience.
Linkedin classifies statements of historical fact as hate speech. 5 million Germans belonged to the Hitler Youth between 1926 and 1945. That is a historical fact. The only people trying to hide the prevalence of Nazism in post-war Germany is neo-nazis.
I found my new job on LinkedIn and can't be more happy. Perfect site to get new job opportunities and to communicate with old and new colleagues. Simply love it, keep it up, guys. Basic version works fine, by the way.
A great professional networking experience. Very easy to use, and find people in your professional network. It's improved over time, and has a clean user interface. Find it user friendly, the only thing is you've got to pay for a membership.
Currently I have more than 500 connection on LinkedIn, with the help of LinkedIn connections, I am able to find people those who have new opportunities for me. Services of LinkedIn are awesome, follow those you like. LinkedIn is very user friendly and easy to use, services like endorsement is really useful, sending invites is very important to create new connections. LinkedIn is very optimized it's loading time is very less or its depends on internet connection speed. Chat service of LinkedIn is nice, so you can chat with your connections and get new opportunities in your carrier. Linked support is great, they reply very quickly.
I just restarted my account. I didn't realize how important is really was to have a LinkedIn account until this time. It is kind of confusing to learn how to do what your trying to set out to do. However with a little help you get the hang of things fast.
I recently got a charge on my cc by Linkedin for a job posting that I had removed. There is no way after searching that I can contact customer service and resolve this. I feel that my only recourse is to submit a negative review! Frustrating!
Did an add campaign with Linkedin in the hopes it's target professionals better than Google Adds.
I was ripped off of $420 with not even one prospect or an effect towards the business:)
( was offering Linkedin Headsohts BTW)
Have to get running as far as possible from them.
Was charged many times over without any notification or receipt whatsoever.(discovered charges by mistake :)) )
Very discouraging.
I'm afraid to do any other advertising with Linkedin EVER!
Good lesson though, will keep my eyes peeled (and trust Google more)
Caution: fraud. LinkedIn application offered 1 month free of charge test subscription and then never notified me of the test period end and never asked my permission to withdraw money ($50, which is half of average salary in Russia) from my account. It's a fraud and in case you not give me my money back I will go to court and will every day and everywhere inform people that LinkedIn are thieves steeling money! You are fooling people by such non-transparent subscription policy and not notifying and not asking transparently their authorization for payment, but just fooling people. Give my money back! *******@gmail.com
Last 3 years i am applying job through this platform and i never received a real recruiter call but there is lot of scammers. You will see some great companies are recruiting and you will click the link then it will guide you to another site then another site with hundreds of ads and scammers…believe me it' useless.
You don't really get to use all teh features until you upgrade your profile to premium but the basic version is good enough to stay in touch with business friends, colleages and potential employers. Easy to use interface.
Linkedin locked my account without reason or notice. I followed the terms of service. They demanded a copy of my driver license to unlock my account. I sent it, but it is still locked. It is nearly impossible to reach a live human here, but someone in sales said it could be a week or more. This is a worse data grab than facebook, this is more like theft. Avoid this company like the plague.
