I've been a LinkedIn user for quite some time and have spent years building my connections. Recently, my account was hacked, and when I reached out to LinkedIn for help, they responded by sending a password reset link. Unfortunately, this reset link was sent directly to the hacker. I then received several emails, one notifying me that my password had been reset, followed by another saying that my two-step verification had been changed, and finally, one stating that my name had been altered. LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, essentially handed my account over to the hacker. If you are a business or someone seeking work, I would caution against using LinkedIn, as their support is extremely poor, and it seems easier for hackers to gain access to accounts than for legitimate users to recover them.

- Not user friendly
- You have to pay for simple privileges
- Haven't helped me a bit in terms of finding a job (listen, that's not because I am a crappy worker :) )

Overall: an option but not in my top10 list.

I keep my LinkedIn profile up-to-date and have tried to utilize it as often as possible for searching for jobs, but their supply of non-profit openings is very limed, hence the mediocre rating.

I definitely recommend using it even if you`re almost out of experience at the moment. The network really helps to get in touch with some people that can boost your knowledges drastically.

I don't have much professional experience, but Linkedin allows me to build a profile that showcases all the best parts of my educational and work experiences. I also love the job search feature.

Almost no reason to visit any more. Linkedin wont authorize many of my apps. People I don't know very well are constantly voting up my skills. Seems like an afterthought going the way of myspace.

Regarding businesses and business, execs etc, this site just rocks. The app also has a user friendly interface. I highly recommend if you're looking to network etc.

Professional and specific to goal of networking with professionals and co-workers, without too much informal socialization. Good for like minded business type people.

I've had an account with LinkedIn for years including a recruiter-lite paid account. Until recently, I found their site to be a useful tool allowing me to connect with other professionals. My account recently got locked for some, unknown reason. Their reset process requires you to upload a picture ID of yourself to prove it is you. I have done this now multiple times. Each time, the response is someone will get back to me. It has been several weeks now and nothing. No reply other than an auto-response stating they got the upload. Why are they the worst online company? Simple, they offer no way to contact anyone there if you have a problem. No support email, no phone number and what is most laughable of all, the support they do offer requires you to be logged in to access! Are you kidding me? Did no one at LinkedIn ever consider the support issue being "Can Not Log In"? Until they are willing to offer support that can be directly contacted, they will remain the worst online company of our times. Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter, Indeed ALL provide multiple ways to contact them if you have issues logging in. Something so simple yet beyond LinkedIn's comprehension. I am the CEO of the company I work for and usually try to stay positive, even when dealing with a negative situation however this experience is the number one customer service failure I work hard with my people to avoid our customers from every having.

Tip for consumers:
Recruiter Lite is a tease pushing you to sign up for the full recruiter account. Either spend the money for the full account or don't bother.

I've recently started using LinkedIn, as I will soon be graduating into a "real" profession! I really enjoy the professional development courses that LinkedIn offers with their premium subscription. I'm very, very busy with graduation preparations and final assignments and forgot to cancel my free trial. As a full-time student with no real income, I can't afford the price tag right now. So, naturally, I panicked when my credit card was charged the full subscription price. The charge date had snuck up on me. I immediately canceled my subscription (not that it did any good now, ha), and messaged the customer support team on Twitter. I explained my situation and left my email address that's connected to my LinkedIn account. The next morning, I got a notification (this was maybe 12 hours later) that my charge had been refunded, no questions asked. One less stress for me to deal with! A heartfelt thank-you to "KW" for helping me out so quickly and efficiently. Your hard work has not gone unappreciated.

It's a shame to see LinkedIn with racism and profiling in 2019!
My wife decided to setup her LinkedIn profile for the first time two days ago... she included her full name, business details, education, certificates and all the necessary details including country. However the next day she was also asked to send a photo ID (this is unheard of) but despite that, she also complied and sent as requested. That same day she was told that her account was banned citing "security concerns" and the need to "protect their community"!

She has complied with everything, she's not from the Middle East or any war-stricken country or has any relation to such. She sent them multiple emails asking for help as to why the account was banned and all they said is they can't give the findings of their security team.

A full read of their Terms and Conditions showed no violation or anything that could have been against their rules with a 2 day old account. It's a real shame some companies still go to such levels to discriminate against certain minorities. I'll make it my mission to keep posting this level of discrimination experienced by your company and hopefully, it'll be reached by a news agency!

Not so good as could be. Almost every single platform allows me to see what is going on there, except LinkedIn. Signing in is obligatory and that irritates me.

This site is an ideal business networking platform for anyone wanting to start, advance or enhance their business.

It has an appealing clean look, easy to navigate and a 'beautiful addictive nature', allowing employed and unemployed persons to connect with others within their industry.
I recommend reaching 500 connections. By achieving this number of connections other people will begin sending you invitations to connect. The stronger your numbers the more opportunities you receive. Post, commenting on posts and writing articles allow for potential future employers to see your worth and abilities. I have increased my network in 3 different fields allowing me to have more 'open door' possibilities.

When initiating an account here make sure you pay attention to the settings. Your cellphone and email need to be set to default and for anti-hacking purposes use the true verification option. This is still a social media platform.

This site requires constant attention from your part in terms of updating your status, posting and commenting. But the outcome is a possible job.

I believe this is a great place to build your resume and find your dream job.

It is another social networking site, that tried to be Facebook but failed miserable. Why this is even a thing and looked on by employers is beyond me.

On LinkedIn is a very great profile website to meet people in your field, build your profile resume, social networking, and other opportunities that you won't be disappointed.

To begin with, I had a paid subscription. They sent me an email saying I needed to "update my payment information" or I would lose my "premium" account... Well seeing I did not want to renew, I did not update this info... Somehow they got my new card info and charged me anyway... Now for their content "Script Nazis" If you post or make a comment on a post, that goes against "their agenda narrative" they will "censor" you or even close your account. This will be done even if you "pay" for a premium account... Nope, they do not refund. They have no clear policy, just a bunch of "word stuff", they will interprete the way, they wish. They censor the truth, when it does not fit their narrative... Hey, but you can open a profile be an "Out House CEO" Be Colonel Urinal leading a squad of Commode Commandos. The only time they will require identity verification is when you post or make a comment that goes against the narrative set forth by their "Script Nazis" Funny but they asked for my ID even though I have submitted it before... I'm done with using their so called "service"

Tip for consumers:
just post a resume, fill out a truthful profile...never purchase anything....watch out for scammers LI does not regulate them with any regularity....you will get a lot of "your handsome" or "You
are wife is lucky" proposals...interestingly, this is usually the exact spelling.....dead giveaway...you can report this activity, but alas, later you may see the profile will still exist

Some of these reviews are from a few years ago and there have been improvements since. Networking is crucial to me- I'm a staffing consultant and I have actually gotten jobs as well as networking clients where I never would have been able to using anything else. I've flirted with the idea of paying for the upgraded service but I'm not entirely convinced it's worth it... you can get most of the benefits that are advertised but it takes a bit of time (and savvy) on your part to get around it.

I want to be found by potential clients so I do not hide- on the contrary I have a work Twitter account linked to LinkedIN as well as my work Facebook so anyone can find me depending on what they prefer to use.

I can say that for the amount they charge for premium services I've made exponentially in profit from clients and work I've gained from that site. If I could have done 4 and a half I would- the only annoying thing is not being able to message who you want to if you're not in network with them but people choose for it to be that way sometimes.

So I find the people who write trash articles on LINKEDIN and call them out, LINKEDIN finds it cool to delete my account! So I will be a thorn in LinkedIn side from here on out! I'll start a NEW profile and do it all over again... This company protects the trash we see in America. These people can write what they want with no response, I CALL BS. LinkedIn is no better than FB TWITTER OR INSTAGRAM... Just another $#*!ty product!

This ladybwho works for disney as a recruiter
Is a mean spirited judgemental prejudice individual.
She plays nice with workmates but to potential new hires she is horrible. She has been the reason so many applicants have been unfairly turned away from Disney. Shebis harsh(not stern) in decision making. I don't think disney is aware of how bad she treats potential newhires. She is discouraging and phony. Anita khan has told Lies to people based on their personal living conditions as a way to turn someone down for employment. She has stated to several applicants that EVERY disney has a car or good enough living condition in order to worknthere, which is a complete lie. She has told people there is no transportation throughout the property for worke6to get to another property if needed... which is also a complete lie. How is she still working with so many complaints. I think disney needs to get rid of that tyrant

You cant reach the company or delete your account or remove all of your email addresses. There needs to be legislation in place against practices like this.

I set up an account and had worked on it almost 3 days during a transitioning course in the military and on the 4th day I was logged off and put on restriction until I verified my account with a source of ID. After sending in my information with my source of ID I waited and got an email on the same day that my account has been permanently restricted but won't say anything on why it was restricted due to violating a user agreement policies which I haven't violated anything. And when I was trying to figure out a way I could contact them, the only way possible is to have an account which I don't have access to.

LinkedIn is a great alternative to having a resume because pretty much every employer knows about it and can judge your experience simply from your profile.

I tried to merge two accounts and was told to contact customer support. So I click on the "ME" icon and then "Help", which is supposed to direct me to click "get help from us". However, there is no such icon - it's a dead end. So I look up their customer service phone number (no easy feat), and then when I call, they will NOT ALLOW ME to SPEAK WITH A LIVE AGENT. They keep directing me back to the internet where the problem started to begin with. Seriously guys, this is a first-class job search engine? You have to do better than this!
