This is an excellent app for getting jobs online and also an excellent platform for getting online work and jobs the best feature is that this is an excellent platform to promote your business online
I've been a LinkedIn user for quite some time and have spent years building my connections. Recently, my account was hacked, and when I reached out to LinkedIn for help, they responded by sending a password reset link. Unfortunately, this reset link was sent directly to the hacker. I then received several emails, one notifying me that my password had been reset, followed by another saying that my two-step verification had been changed, and finally, one stating that my name had been altered. LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, essentially handed my account over to the hacker. If you are a business or someone seeking work, I would caution against using LinkedIn, as their support is extremely poor, and it seems easier for hackers to gain access to accounts than for legitimate users to recover them.
Their live chat is horrible. Waited 20-30 minutes just for the chat to expire. LinkedIn set it up that way so they don't need to deal with their customer service issues.
Terrific site, great for snooping out what your old school friends are doing, and doing quick background checks of people you are considering doing business with. Not much more than that.
I have tried repeatedly to get them to stop taking funds from my account when I do not have an account. At one point they refunded my money to me but no they continue to do so. It is impossible to speak to someone and the only way I can stop it is to shut down my debit card which frankly I should not have to do. THEY ARE THIEVES!
The best professional network working great in the field of social media. The connection you make here is essentials for your career and knowledge growth.
This is like facebook except for networking with your colleagues and companies in a professional level. You can build up your business network in here.
LinkedIn allows fake profiles to remain on their platform. If someone steals someone's ID and starts to use their name to impersonate them, esp. Setting up a platform on LinkedIn. LinkedIn will not remove the profile. This happen to me. Someone, pretending to be me, is using my name without my consent. They have committed ID theft. This was reported to LinkedIn, and they did nothing. Their response is, " we respect the right of all members to freely express themselves. We don't monitor, filter, or remove member-generated content from our site unless they are inappropriate as defined in our User Agreement and Professional Community Policies. " This is their way of letting you know that someone stealing someone else ID and using the name to set up a profile on LinkedIn (basically steal someone's Identity). Isn't inappropriate for them (LinkedIn). The profiles on LinkedIn cannot be trusted as real, unless you know for sure the profile is of the person or business you believe they are portraying. Below is an example of a fake profile who has stolen and is using the name (identity) of someone else.
Tip for consumers:
Do not trust the profiles on LinkedIn unless you know for sure the profile is of the actual person or business. LinkedIn does not remove fake profiles.
Products used:
This isn't a purchase. This is about LinkedIn allowing identity theft to take place on their website's platform
LinkedIn has 600,000+++members from all over the world. It is the best website to join whether you want to network for leads or looking for a job.
You end up connecting with some great people.
There is no more correct answer on "Where can I find job?" than "On LinkedIn". My first job was found where, as much as the last one and I'm sure that I can find next at the same place.
Great place to network with your peers. I find it helpful to learn what is going on in my industry. I don't expect too much from them, they don't disappoint.
Seriously Awful and very bad. They close my account with any reason *******@gmail.com. After trying a lot they even don, t want to answer me clearly
I made the mistake to use Linkedin as a professional.
This is one of the worst company I ever did business with.
First of all, they don't provide any contact or phone numbers where you can contact an actual human being. If you manage to find phone numbers (US only), they are empty shells with only voice mails.
Secondly, nothing works properly. You need to open ticket support for every single piece of operation you try to do.
Thirdly, the support, probably based in a low wages/no rules/exploitation free country is not even able to understand the questions you ask and therefore provide you with proper solutions. You know now why they are hiding phone numbers. They know everything about you, but you don't even have their real name
4th: Sales service: a joke. Sales people like the others are well hidden behind the interface and never ever manage their clients.
As for their professional accounts, the only difference really is the number of words you can put in an "inmail" versus a normal message on a free account. IT REALLY DOESN'T WORTH IT.
When you manage to get in touch with a virtual interlocutor, communication is a one way system and you need to wait 24 hours for an answer. What kind of discussion is that?
Lastly, Linkedin is full of self congratulating, superficial, exaggerated profiles and most of jobs publish there are either outdated,, fake, or just resume collection campaigns.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use the professional or premium versions, they bring nothing more than the free ones and you can't downgrade after despite what they tell you.
I never accessed any part of the service and canceled by the deadline. The deadline in the notification is not the real deadline. They said "cancel by Dec 8th" and I did, but they charged me hundreds of dollars anyway because I didn't cancel before the "billing deadline." To my knowledge, they never told me when the billing deadline was. If they had, I would have met it. Your only safe bet is to NEVER SIGN UP AT ALL.
Tip for consumers:
NEVER EVER SIGN UP
Linked is known for connecting the professionals from all around the world. Making and sharing issues with different people on such a platform makes working more and more productive.
I am on LinkedIn.com just like everyone else. It provides great information about people and their backgrounds. I am yet to figure out how it can help my career.
Linkedin has changed their site, it's navigationally not designed well and because it takes too long to load profiles now, it's impossible to be useful in any capacity.
Awful site. Avoid linkedin at all costs. Absolutely Disgraceful. You are able to post jobs on there for free. They removed my profile with no evidence provided and I am unable to get it back. I contacted them on Twitter and they have sent me a link to fill in but I doubt the account will be re activated. There appears to be a number of job posted on the platform which are non existent. I received false negative feedback from said companies and when I questioned them about their lies they refuse to reply back to my emails. I posted my experience on linkedin and I believe for that reason they removed my account because these companies got exposed and are unable to provide actual evidence in turn they reported me to LinkedIn. I also have a employment tribunal case against Birmingham City University for unfair dismissal and Racial discrimination.
Linkedin have been unfair and have treated me differently with no evidence provided. Is it due to me being a Bangladeshi Muslim? Have you got issues with my relgious belief and skin colour? What is your issue? Worst platform ever.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid do not use.
I should have wrote this awhile ago. Approximately a year ago I a noticed a colleague of mine, I will name KN from AZ, in the LinkedIn website. We were good friends. Lots of respect for one another. However, it has been 30 plus years since I have seen or spoken to him. I just confirmed knowing him on the LinkedIn website I RARELY use. I didn't leave a message.
A couple months later I get a message from KN telling me about a "shopper" job that paid well. He claimed it supplemented his retirement money well. Since I KNEW and TRUSTED KN I figured it must be legit. It wasn't! It was "go buy gift cards at WalMart". Rub off the coating on the back and take pictures and send to them". Clear SCAM!
I went to alert KN as to what was going on, and he had already written to ALL his LinkedIn contacts to alert them, IT WASN'T HIM. Someone had hacked into LinkedIn and downloaded ALL HIS CONTACTS. They then utilized this to disseminate this SCAM!
BEWARE
Untrained customer service staff, You feel you are chatting with robots, I asked to speak to a manager, he hanged up on me in the chat box, may be by mistake I cannot be sure
LinkedIn is changing their business model to capture value from their users. As a user this means that it is providing less value to be on.
Specifically, without buying the second level of premium membership, you can no longer contact people who are 3rd level connections, regardless if you know them. As I am in a sales role, this is frustrating, especially the lack of disclosure due to the change in policy. All of the blocks that are put in place which prevent active usage of the network without a paying 50 a month are more than frustrating, especially for those who are premium members. More importantly, because non-sales pros are unlikely to get the premium services, standard users are less likely to be as well connected or use the service as much.
These problems are likely to slow the use of the network over time, and I expect that if the policies don't change I will need to use a different social network in 2 years as professionals grow frustrated and stop utilizing LinkedIn, especially those who are early in their careers--which makes the longterm story problematic.
LinkedIn might help with finding your connections, but the customer service is absolutely appalling. They hardly even have customer service. They do not have a telephone number, instead, you email someone your question/concern. You will receive a response at a later time. Not only is it difficult to communicate and solve anything this way, but responses are more or less automated, leaving you with literally NO service. They are not understanding or helpful to their customers. It's basically a reiteration of whatever is on the website, but copied and pasted onto your email, which does not offer any more help whatsoever.
Furthermore, their prices that they charge for their premium services are absolutely ridiculous. I believe their cheapest upgrade is about $30 a month, specifically for job-seekers. Charging that price to unemployed job-seekers is ludicrous. I signed up for the free month (be careful doing this, I would not recommend it), and used none of their "added services." I am now being charged (as an unemployed fresh grad) for this useless service as I did not cancel it in time (they do not make it easy), and am unable to figure anything out with a customer service representative as LinkedIn does not offer that service. I am finding LinkedIn's "services" to be getting increasingly worse. I am very disappointed with LinkedIn and no longer think of it as a great innovative company. Be careful with your overpriced upgrades!
I closed my LinkedIn account and my inbox s well as spam blew up. This has been continuing for 2 months that began 3 days after closing my account. I am very upset with this practice.
THEY LOST MY MAJOR ACCOUNT ON LINKEDIN HAD NO PHONE SERVICE YET THEY ARE OWNED BY MICROSOFT. THESE INTERNET COMPANIES HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE WORKING U. S AND OVERSEAS NUMBERS IF THEY ARE CHARGING MONTHLY FEES TO USE THEIR SERVICES.;
People have the right to speak with a real person on these websites if they are asking for money. I will be calling out the companies on the internet that are asking people to subscribe to them yet you cannot call them when you have an issue with their websites.
How do you charge consumers yet no one can speak to your issues with it. Microsoft is also doing this to consumers and it is one of the largest companies in the world.
The website is well organized and well done but their customer service is lacking.
I was just sent an invitation to connect with (which means you have to join) a former university instructor on Linkedin. It has become known as a site for professional job seekers and responsible employers to connect. What a surprise--when you join, it brings up people you might know already on its site--and there was SoftRock and its top three, owner Alex Difrawi, the girl who contacts you and sets up intervews, and a manager who guides you through setting up using your OWN e-mail to place phony ads for online universities that are ripping off US military for their education grants. People who join LinkedIn think they are joining an ultra professional site, but obviously anybody can call themselves anything and join so after seeing Defrawi on there, I have changed my mind and might unjoin it.
A competitor has cloned my LinkedIn page, one to one, and when I asked for support, my Business page was taken down, but the Hackers cloned account, which is currently spreading threatening message to my circle of clients, stayed up and running. Absolutely incompetent and crazy LinkedIn support personnel now damage my Business now as a consequence, for letting a hackers cloned account up and running, and for taking my Page down.
LinkedIn is great to keep track of your work experience and education and then to find people who you studied or worked with without going to facebook.
