Ride with Someone Else
January 2, 2019

I normally never write a bad review but, his time I need to. The location of my home was never a problem for previous drivers. Recently the drivers have not been able to find my house. It might be a G. P.S. Issue. I watched the progress map as the driver passed my house. I contacted the driver, to tell her my exact location. She began yelling at me and wouldn't stop. I didn't take the ride. I hope I don't get charged another cancellation fee after that abuse. About two months ago I scheduled a ride by error. I immediately called the driver to cancel, but I was charged a cancellation fee anyway. Some of the drivers are very rude, you never know what you're in for.
I would not take Lyft if I were you. The service is unreliable. My experience with customer service is so-so. I requested a call back and their system called me and put me on hold blasting the most irritating music ever. The first person I spoke with was attentive and apologetic. He transferred me over to the billing department for a refund on the previous ride. I spoke with a truly snippy brat and she, of course, patronized me and denied me a refund. Lyft was a good service at first. I don't know what's happened. If you can get another ride, you should do so.

Don't drive for Lyft there lying thiefs that only care about taking 20 % of your hard earned earnings and don't appreciate the drivers that work for them It's been 2 weeks and I haven't got paid for the rides I've completed its been frustrating for me since they don't have a working phone number you have to email them to get a late response they gave me the run around saying my money was quede and there engineer's where working to solve the problem so I can get paid it's been 2 weeks still no pay I'm done with them and I will never drive for them again I don't know how there still in business stealing people's hard earned money it's funny how they promote you can make 1,500 a week it's a lie you'll be lucky if you make 400 a week

I was online in the Lyft application for 29 hours in my first week and was paid $351.15. I also received tips in the amount of $46.38. However, I incurred a gasoline expense in the amount of $167.36 driving a 2008 Suzuki SUV with a six cylinder engine. If I subtract the $167 gasoline expense from the $351 that Lyft paid me, I earned $184 for a 29 hour work week or $6.34 per hour. However, I didn't earn $6.34 per hour because I paid for the automobile, the maintenance on the vehicle, and the insurance and it is therefore impossible to know how much less than $6.34 per hour I actually earned. Furthermore, it is entirely possible that I actually worked for free and may have even paid Lyft to work for them because the automobile is very expensive, the insurance is very expensive, and the maintenance is another significant expense.

The management at Lyft has to be privately laughing at how they successfully con the drivers and riders and the public. And, the U.S. Congress has to be doing the same thing while they argue that they are protecting the public. Right, and they also argue that they are not taking bribes from companies like Lyft and Uber to circumvent the U.S. labor laws.

Nonexistent Support
September 25, 2023

There is no way to speak or email support and any support through the app is limited.
The poor support model makes the service untrustworthy and unmanageable.

The actual Lyft service is convenient and somewhat reliable (I'd give the actual service a 4). However, I was erroneously charged 3 times for a single ride and then I realized how terrible Lyft's customer service is. They are the only company I have encountered that doesn't have a phone number for basic customer service issues. They instead force you to go through emails, which they essentially completely ignore. EVEN COMCAST HAS A PHONE NUMBER (granted that phone number is one of the more useless phone numbers in existence). Simply put, a business can't operate in this fashion and, unless they change things, they are going to always lose to Uber. I had been using Lyft very consistently for months before the charges happened. I will now never use it again. I hope some other people see these reviews and figure this out before something shady happens to them (for some reason I assumed Lyft had great customer service before I actually had to deal with it). Lastly, their website tells you, if you see charges you don't think are correct, NOT to dispute the charge with your bank before they get a chance to figure it out. This request is both strange and ridiculous; its strange because Ive never encountered this stance from a company before (they go as far as to tell you to withdraw your dispute if you already filed one) and its ridiculous because they ask you to not dispute it while simultaneously having absolutely nonexistent customer service. Get your "stuff" together Lyft.

Deceptive and won't pay you with Express Pay within 24hrs as advertised. I returned there car early in good condition on Elston Ave in Chicago to the shady manager Steve to get my rental cost back AND my pay 4 days later which did not happen as l tried to tell him its been a horrible experience with Lyft as a driver who still hasn't received payment for the money earned. Steven could careless about delay in pay and with refunding me for my rental which he had the CRAZIEST AUDACITY TO SAY I DIDN'T PAY HIM FOR RENTAL COST. THAT IS A LIE. I PAID $350 for the rental and the deposit. Steve refused to expedite my credit and stated it will take 2 weeks before l see a credit from Flexdrive which he refused to give me the number to. I wil file a complaint with the FTC, BBB, CONSUMER AFFAIRS REGARDING LYFT NOT PAYING ME A DIME AS THERE POLICY INDICATES PAY WITHIN 24HRS. LYFT SHOULD BE SUED AND WILL BE SOON. The Chat Support and Customer service refuse to help with payment issues as well. I will file a FRAUD COMPLAINT AS WELL WITH MY BANK FOR MONEY THEY STOLE BASICALLY. PEOPLE MUST SPEAK UP ABOUT LYFT DECEIT.

$#*!s!
September 11, 2023

Sooooooo I've been a Lyft rider for several years, but all of a sudden tonight when I want to request a ride it books my ride, but THEN tells me to create a new account. So I got charged my ride fair, plus a cancellation fee and when contacting Lyft they wanted to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it except tell me that I have to pay the cancellation fee. So $#*! this service and their customer service people. It's time to move to Uber.

Totally unreliable
May 10, 2023

I arrived in Miami after traveling nearly 20 hours and I ordered a Lyft. The first driver was sent and then canceled after eight minutes so then they sent a second driver who canceled after another seven minutes. A third driver was on his way and stopped somewhere coming to the terminal at Miami airport and then turned around and canceled, I was forced to take a train for two hours and did not get home till 1030 at night.
Today I ordered a Lyft to drive my daughter from Palm Beach County to Miami international airport. We scheduled it six hours in advance. We were told Alexander would be picking her up Alexander canceled 1/2 hour before his scheduled arrival they set us up with someone named Tara. She canceled after five minutes then Hector was on his way and when he got to my development he canceled as well and I ended up having to drive my daughter 90 miles to the airport and 90 miles back because the Lyft drivers are so irresponsible and the company sucks, I would never use them again

June 21, 2021

This is the worse Lyft driver EVERRRR. He asked how much my rent was for one! 2. He made fake damage claims to get another 20$ then lied and said he returned my keys ( WHICH I DONT CARRY BC MY CAR IS NOT NEAR HERE) so how did you find keys I never had on me, just to try and charge me 15$ luckily I changed my card back so they couldn't charge me. MARC YOURE A LOSER BIG TIME, I hope you find a job that requires you to be LESS OF A CREEP!

Email trolls
December 27, 2021

I uninstalled LYFT because I hate trolls that email me EVERY Fukin day with emails I cant put in SPAM. I don't use companies that troll me. Capital One found that out after I asked them over and over and over to stop. I tore up thier card and sent it to them. They finally replied and stoped emailing me but to late. I don't want to use them any more now so I don't get trolled. Hopefully some one in LYFT will see this and see people don't want thier daily emails. UBER don't troll and gets my business

From my home near Seattle, I reserved a Lyft ride online for Indiana granddaughter from Evansville to Indianapolis airport. I specified pickup time of 2:30 p.m., plenty for the ride, with a little margin. Lyft software interpreted this local Indiana pick up time as Seattle time (my location, not the ride location) and changed the time to 4:30 p.m. Thus my granddaughter missed the flight and spent the night in a chair in the Indianapolis airport. WHY NOT ALLOW ME TO SPECIFY LOCAL TIME OR TO SPECIFY CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME, OR TO CHOOSE FROM A LIST OF TIME ZONES? Incompetence. FIX YOUR SOFTWARE, LYFT.

Lyft used to be my daily transportation. I used to take multiple trips throughout the day. I have made this company alot of money for a goo year in a half. However, this year prices have been absolutely ridiculous even for a shared ride. I never really cared for Uber because of safety reasons as well as prices were higher than Lyft at the time but now I'm seeing that Uber is slightly cheaper than them now as well as neck in neck with prices depending on the time of day. These companies USED to be a great option for people who couldn't afford regular cabs or couldn't deal with the hassle of being late for work from cabs but now I'm thinking both of these companies will end up losing customers to buses and cabs unfortunately. People are even carpooling with each other at work to save money now. I knew this would happen eventually because like all companies everything starts off great then goes down hill after a few years because they stop caring about the people and focus more on the money.

It's a one way judgement by Lyft passengers and no mercy or interest is shown by the Lyft employees to find out the truth of the matter. It doesn't matter to them at all that the driver is wrongly accused by the passenger who was in the wrong and tried to touch me. All they care about is lies passed on to them by the disappointed passenger who wasn't successful in getting me to touch her. NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON explains who protects the driver who was abused both by the passenger and the Lyft employees.
