I downloaded the latest free version 2 with no trouble. It required a re-boot and did a scan when re-booted. I have been using this program along with my paid for program for years and it is very reliable. I use the add-on Chameleon for this to work safely without being hacked it must be put into the same folder as Malwarebytes. I dont have any trouble with it or other protection programs as apart from my paid one none are run in real time but only on demand. Its the one hackers fear as a high tech. Hacker tried to disable it but couldnt so caused my PC to switch off. I wouldnt be without it.
Early yesterday May 18,2024 notified to update. Updated, then scanned. All apps damaged or disabled. Cleared browsing data and restarted. No improvement. 3 times. Support ticket via email. No response. Contact on Facebook Messenger. Jerked me around. Provided support ticket number. Promised an agent would contact me. None did. Can't even get into Google Play to uninstall. No support. Try to log in to my Malwarebytes account with password. They email me verification code, enter, says Invalid Code. Starting to look like a scam.
Easily the most functional and helpful PC protection program on the net that offers a free version. The free version includes a full and quick scan, while the paid version offers a flash scan.
My Dell laptop recently encountered malware which prompted me to buy bogus virus removal software in order to get rid of it. Obviously this malware was a scam, as I could not even open my task manager. So I opened up Malwarebytes Anti-malware, let it run a full scan, and voila - I had complete control of my laptop again.
This has saved me a number of times, and I definitely recommend it.
So after a few emails from support (*******@malwarebytes.com) I got this straightened out and I gave them the pft duh advice of putting support email on website for free. They thanked me, gave me a free year of MB and I got it all up and going again. All looks good now.
Just paid another year but messed up email and now im screwed. No support number or email means i just wasted my money. I will never get this $#*! product again
It used to be amazing when it was on V2. Now it interferes too much. It locks you out of harmless websites for no reason and throws annoying pop-ups that also interfere whenever you're gaming or working.
Malwarebytes was installed on my computer by my repair tech when I took it in for an unrelated problem (dead power supply). He recommended it highly. However, it gobbled up 3 gig of my monthly 5 gig of data in a mere TWO WEEKS of premium service. I'm sure it's an excellent program for people with unlimited data plans and urban broadband who live on You-tube and streaming. But if you normally use very little data and pay based on use, this program will use more of your allowance than you do and is overkill for your risk exposure.
Tip for consumers:
Exactly what I wrote. The product is highly recommended by and for those who use large amounts of streaming and downloading. However for those with limited usage, it takes more than it gives.

This is a software download and shipping doesn't apply. Charges are monthly like any other service. There is both a premium (paid) and a free version. I used the premium version on a 14-day trial and cancelled (deleted the entire program) because it was eating my bandwidth.
I have used malwarebytes for a long time now with no issues beyond wondering if it really works. Recently I had an issue with a web search redirect issue. I followed malwarebytes directions which included clearing all data in Chrome. Bad move, ALL my shortcuts created in past years are now gone! And it didn't even fix the problem, which was an advert engine's way of dealing with an ad blocker I had turned on. Temporarily turning this off fixed the problem. I wish malwarebytes would explain the effects of each step in their step by step solutions. I am entirely pissed off!
Has become a problem product. Protection layers always shutting off. The worst thing they did was to eliminate the free standing product (discs). When I installed the discs, I had no problem, but since using the up-to-date version from download, I have had nothing but problems. Tech support suggests things, but it doesn't resolve issues.
I bought and paid for Malwarebytes and ran it. It cleaned the computer apparently including its own executable, which couldn't be found in any folder, directory, or registry search after running. So I'm a sucker. The company wanted to fix the problem but I had spent over half a day fussing it and I was very done with it. Moving on...
I bought the year suscription as I suspected I had been hacked a year ago. A month ago, I checked the account since I did not want to renew and I am already using another laptop. Autorenew was off. Last week I was informed that I had been charged! Despite my phone call from USA (I live in Argentina) and my constant emails to support, the charge appeared in my creita card. Thieves.
Tip for consumers:
No, just do not buy them anything. You will be for sure robbed.

Nothing but problems when I loaded Malwarebytes on my home computer. Chrome crashed every time I brought it up and tried to do some work. I should have loaded malware itself on here and it would have done the same thing. Completely and utterly useless. Worse, trying to communicate with Malwarebytes the company is asking for more frustration! I just wanted to cancel my subscription and could not find a place to do it. An absolutely horrible experience.

Purchased Malwarebytes in May. It stopped working in July. Sent email telling them this: nothing - tried again - they tell me they have no record of my payment. I sent them the paypal screenshot - still nothing. Avoid.
No customers service. No 1-800 number a human to talk with. If you have an issue they do nothing. The product sucks and really conflicted with other programs on my computer. I have to remove it from my computer 2 weeks after purchasing it. Also 1 year later they automatically bill your credit card for a 2nd year then they fight you when you ask for your money back. A very terrible company and product! Charles
The thing about this program is that it will tell you there are no viruses when you can clearly see there are. Then they ask you to upgrade... to what? To paying them for it not work most of the time and be asked to upgrade again and pay more? Either your program works or it doesn't.
Have had problems, and all they send is general BS. No help what so ever to date ( about two weeks) so if you are having problems don't count on any support and they really charge your account about as quick as you send it.
Using Windows 7. Causes a memory loop that uses 93% of my memory after the computer has been on for about 15 minutes(starts at 2 gig and goes to over 7 gig). After removing Malwarebytes my computer was back to normal.
I have always had Malware Bytes However as of recent the product does not work in spite of purchasing the PRO. The support services are deficient to say the least. Customer service does not know anything about the product. Only email support is available unless you pay 110.00. So they stop the product from working to enable purchase of there premium services. Very disappointing.
You can't stop them from charging your account they have a toggle button to stop auto payment but they insist on charging you anyway. I haven't used their product in over a year and they still are charging my account for renewal.
Wrangled with "Stew" over cancelling automatic renew.
Claimed he couldn't find my account.
Wanted the license number and key.
I deleted it and the program long ago.
The website as NO WAY to contact a real person.
EMAIL: *******@malwarebytes.com
It was a shot in the dark that paid off.
I reminded "Stew" I now had email evidence for my credit card company to cancel all future transaction attempts.
Suddenly he found my account.
Cancelled everything per my request.
Stay FAR away from this company.
After one year, they will auto charge you again without any asking. When I bought a year service, I did not sign on anything that I want to continue the auto charge, neither they were clear about it when you hit to buy one year service. They denied returning the money, even I stopped using their service after the first year.
I received another call from the same phone # that sold me the virus program! I recognized it on my "ID" and have it blocked. But I have found there maybe scammers using their wedsites claiming to be Malwarebytes! "DO NOT" respond to "ANY" phone calls saying your computer is bad! I have filed an FCC complain about this scam!
I'm angry because this incredible product is annoying the piss out of me. EVERYDAY i have to click on a pop up that I don't want to upgrade. It should remember this and not constantly ask me upon every start up. I'm uninstalling this product and looking for an alternative, which pisses me off more because of how good the product is.
Yes I lost my account to real time protection turning off. There see no reason to help me. I have a free program from another vendor. Gave $ yesterday for another malware account worked yesterday it is tuned off today. No way to bring this to their attention.
I have used the free version dozens of times to fix coworkers and friends computers. In fact periodically, I download the free version for my own computers on occasion to check my pcs.
Wonderful product.
Malwarebytes has reneged on my subscription. I have a Premium subscription, and it worked fine on Android for a period, and I was satisfied. Then, Android app stopped working, and support suggested uninstall/re-install. I did so, but app would not accept my app code. Contacted support again, and they suggested I repeat. I did, and so did app non-acceptance of code. Support stopped responding to my requests for help after saying the code was still valid. I then suggested that they just issue me a new code to get past the problem since they had my money for Premium. No contact ever since for over three months with me following up with them monthly. Save your money. Webroot is one of others with good performance and better support.
Malwarebytes is my favorite free anti-virus software. Norton and McAfee and AVG all slowed down my computer, and I always feel like they are trying to sell me stuff I don't need. Malwarebytes is really simple. I run it once a week and it keeps my computer clean!
Here is the CNET review http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-*******.html
I've got a lifetime subscription! Does this mean I have to wait for you to tell me why I am unable to turn on Web Protection for a life time. Response like this impresses me on a scale of company intergity and support. I gave you guys a double 0.
Malwarebytes protects you against malware, ransomware, and other advanced online threats that have made antivirus obsolete and ineffective.
