“I downloaded the latest free version 2 with no trouble...”

duncan l.
7/17/14

I downloaded the latest free version 2 with no trouble. It required a re-boot and did a scan when re-booted. I have been using this program along with my paid for program for years and it is very reliable. I use the add-on Chameleon for this to work safely without being hacked it must be put into the same folder as Malwarebytes. I dont have any trouble with it or other protection programs as apart from my paid one none are run in real time but only on demand. Its the one hackers fear as a high tech. Hacker tried to disable it but couldnt so caused my PC to switch off. I wouldnt be without it.

“Malwarebytes Update Damaged or Disabled All Appa”

Judy L.
5/18/24

Early yesterday May 18,2024 notified to update. Updated, then scanned. All apps damaged or disabled. Cleared browsing data and restarted. No improvement. 3 times. Support ticket via email. No response. Contact on Facebook Messenger. Jerked me around. Provided support ticket number. Promised an agent would contact me. None did. Can't even get into Google Play to uninstall. No support. Try to log in to my Malwarebytes account with password. They email me verification code, enter, says Invalid Code. Starting to look like a scam.

Malwarebytes saved the day today! Yesterday I had to make a service call to my daughter's store computer to remove Windows 10 (and put it back to Windows 8) which was suddenly installed, because settings were to automatic download and install and than I also run a full scan of Microsoft Defender, it found one Pup and removed it but today when restarting it, a blue screen scared them at the store, so I had to make another visit. The scary display showed to call Microsoft and not try to restart the system because there was the option that it wouldn't load but it also mentioned that this problem is caused by a virus! I managed to download a new version of Malwarebytes which found a lot of more Pups (a quick scan with Defender before didn't show any) and after cleaning them all and I dared to restart it, it loaded without problems!

I always loved to use Malwarebytes and did it today even more! It saved many other computers for me in the past from deleting all data from a hard drive which some professionals recommended!

There was a time when Malwarebytes was the go-to save for most if not all spyware problems I had. For many years it saved me from windows 98 thru windows 7 bugs. It could even smash the ransomware hold on my system the handful of times I got it.

But that was many years ago.

Today I installed what is says after installation as " Premium Trial 4. 2. 1., even though all I wanted and downloaded was the "free version" option and wanted nothing to do with the Premium, thats how it installs anyway.

And it still like past few years versions not only never detects anything (like it used to) but it's become a pain with the forced trial of the Premium that you can no longer opt out of like in previous versions I tried. I check back about once a year or two to see if it's actually become a working program again but only the interface changes - - becoming more bloated & annoying every year.

I don't need another un-helpful program sitting on my pc constantly accessing the web all day. Go back to the old program and update it. For me it's just another useless program among the many that find nothing.

The Malwarebytes application would not load on my Mac OS 10.12. NO REFUND? No phone, no customer service. They just take your money and provide no service.
Do not let them scam you.

I had a working Malware Bytes subscription. I wanted to add a license for my wife's computer. The user interface for doing so is poorly written and not easily understandable. To make a long story short I tried to add a second license and ended up being charged for three new subscriptions for my machine and no extra license. There is no way to communicate with their customer service, so I am guessing that Malware Bytes does not have one. I was able to find a site where I could send them a message about this problem. I left three messages about one week apart and have not received a single reply. I ended up contacting my credit card company and had two of the three subscription charges reversed, The problem is I can no longer use the subscription I paid for because I do not have the initialization code to activate it. So here I am out about 85 bucks with no useable product. I will never recommend or give a positive review of Malware Bytes to anyone. Their lack of customer support is very suspicious and certainly raises a few legal red flags. Stay far far away from this company.

If you can get it installed and updated it works. If there are any issues at installation their support is the worst in the industry, even if you purchase the paid version!

I purchased this software for three different computers and it didn't work on any of them.It would install just fine, but then I would reboot the computer and there was no tray icon for the program. If I tried to launch the software from the start menu and nothing happened. I emailed support and got no response. Then I posted on the forums and they wanted me to jump through all these hoops to try and get it to work. I had to use all sorts of tools and programs to generate various logs. And then when I would send them the logs they simply ignored me. I paid almost $150 for this software and when someone finally got back to me they claimed it must be specific to my computer. That simply didn't make sense. The same exact issue on three different computers? It wasn't until I filed a dispute with my credit card company that they finally paid attention, but by then I was done. It's sad what happened to this company. There are plenty of alternatives out there now to protect you against malware, viruses, etc. I purchased WebRoot for only $20. I can use it on three different computers. My credit card company gave me full credits for the disputes I filed. Malwarebytes then asked me if I would consider helping them determine what the issue was by providing me with a free year of service. I told them no way. To me, this confirms they know their are bugs in their software. Do not purchase this software. There are so many alternatives that are so much cheaper. Sorry Malwarebytes, you don't own the market anymore.

I'm being double billed every year. I'm paying $24.95 for my old version, and $39.95 for version 3.1.2.1733. No phone number listed for Malwarebytes, and no email to send to.

I've looked at the other reviews on this page, and it would seem none f those people have gotten the latest download from "Melwarebytes" and I'm referring to this year 2014 not 2013. I've tried to load it 6 times so far on my brand new HP Envy computer and all I get is a drop down window that says the program is not responding, and windows will try and resolve the issue, which of course it never does. In my opinion, save your money and your time don't be fooled in to buying this piece of crap, cause the latest version may well not ever work on your computer. I complained to the company about why did they issue an up dte to my existing program without checking it out first, all they did was send me all kinds of links to go to to try and resolve the issue of it not working, I can see they don't even know! Had a tech from their company, took control of the computer from India, in an attempt to fix it, wason my computer 2.5 hours, never was able to make the program run/work, and this is where this company comes from no less, give me a break! He only ended up installing the older version I had on there a year prior and that too finally too bite the dust, weel you have been fore warned.!

I have downloaded and have being using the free version of it. Compare to a seweral other malware removers I have tried this finaly worked for me.

Please make sure that no other malware remover programms are on your computer, because in general they 'compete' with each other.

Before installing this one I uninstalled all the others by using the Control Panel. Unfortunatelly one of them the CA Internet Security Suite which I downloaded for free being Optonline.net costumer gave me very hard time. This is a long story thou.

I've noticed there's a good amount of misinformation on this website. (sitejabber) If you don't know, don't spout out false information, you'll end up confusing people.

Anyways, Malwarebytes is a great bit of spyware, adware, malware, etc removal software. It is not an anti-virus program and does not provide real time protection. You actually run at a higher risk by not having real time protection. And no, it will not compete with other removal software like stated above. You're thinking of anti-virus software. (AVG, Norton, McAfee, Kaspersky, Avast, etc)

Malwarebytes is quick to install and is actually really quick when you perform a quick scan. It does find quite a bit of infections, however it does not fix everything. I've had quite a few cases where Malwarebytes, by itself, could not remove an infection. Though these computers were badly infected and required a multitude of software to clean everything. However, because it is a quick program to run, I usually install and run this program first, in my cleanup process.

This is a must have program for anyone that needs to clean their system, and of course for any computer technician. If anyone has any questions, feel free to comment on this review.

It is the best anti-malware i had ever used. It is useful for checking a downloaded file before opening, and it works well; i recommend it to anyone that is needing an anti-malware program.

Downloaded the free personal version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Whenever I tried to log-in to my email or other accounts, it would pop up with the offer to remember my passwords. I thought I had made the settings so it wouldn't do that, I just wanted something that would detect malware. Then, it went ahead and would auto-enter my user-names anyway. This is not only highly annoying, it's damn invasive. Also, couldn't see how this program was catching any malware. So I deleted the free account, deleted the program from my system. That should be the end of it, right? Didn't go down that way. Now, I still get the Blur icon showing up on my sign-ins, with prompts asking if I want Blur to save this sign-in. So the program is not completely removed from my system, even though I had made a thorough search for an "uninstall" command, and did everything necessary to get it off my system. Now I have to manually remove the leftover bits of this thing. This program is junk, it's garbage. I like dealing with products and companies that a)Do what they say they're going to do b) Respect my privacy and c)They go away when I want them to. I company like that is far more likely to gain my business. Are your listening, Blur?

Tip for consumers:
I would give this negative stars if the system allowed it. This program is pure garbage, highly annoying, useless.
