We have tried pretty much all of the meal kits out there, but Marley Spoon has the best recipes and the largest menu to choose from every week. The meals do require some cooking skills as the timing is sometimes off, so you have to play it by ear. There a lot of reviews about missing boxes, which has happened in the past for us too. They use UDS which sucks, but they have always reimbursed us for the missing boxes and the customer service was beyond helpful. There hasn't been a meal that we haven't loved, and we are pretty picky. Give it a chance!
Beware these guys are cunning and relentless! Firstly to see their menus you need to put your credit card in. I was shopping around for this type of service, and although I promptly exited the site after reviewing the recipes, it automatically signed me up to a reoccurring order. Now here is the catch…. Once you receive your first order, by the time this is delivered your second order is locked in! So if you receive it and decide to cancel you still have an other order on its way, even if you haven't selected the items it will have preselected it for you! 6 days before my second order (the first one went to the wrong address) I asked for a refund and they refused. It went towards my next order of items I had never selected. We went back and forth all week. I was so shocked by their inability to assist an unhappy customer, I eventually threatened to go to the media. They didn't back down instead sending me the fine print that I signed up for before I had even laid eyes on their product. This company should be ashamed at their lack of integrity and willingness to accept or admit that their service is borderline predatory and filled with trickery. Lastly, when you finally do go in to cancel your account it says that doing so will remove any existing discounts, therefore incurring additional costs on your already committed order. How rude!
Missing spices, but was looking forward to the meal. The steak looked amazing... grass fed beef, dark, dark red. Wow, what a huge disappointment that was! Cooked it exactly like the recipe stated, medium rare on the inside, just how I like my steak. There was not one bite that I could actually chew and swallow. Every bite I chewed until I couldn't any more. Finally had to spit it out. No joke, every single bite.
I gave two stars because the food didn't suck, but you have to actually receive it to know that. I'm on week 3 of my subscription, and for the 3rd week I don't have my order on the day it is due. The customer service with this company is non-existent, and when you get someone on the phone, they generally don't care. Don't make the mistake of trying to email somebody either because you won't get anybody to even fake caring.

Have the two meals per week plan with a Monday delivery. I have yet to get it on a monday. That's because their shipper has yet to receive it in time for it to arrive on a Monday.
I don't know why I thought the fact that this meal service is by Martha Stewart must mean that it's good. I've done nearly every single meal subscription box out there… this was the worst. The first box was missing ingredients and had moldy ingredients. The second box came with the wrong ingredients… the picture shows multi colored mini peppers… got one red pepper in the package. The other meal shows grape tomatoes… got a bunch of plum tomatoes and am instructed to dice them… very different from sliced grape tomatoes. I contacted customer service and they refunded the one box and gave me an $18 credit for the other… so I am satisfied with that… but I just want to save other people from going thru the hassle. Nothing worse than getting all prepared to cook dinner and finding missing and moldy ingredients and having to order takeout instead.
We were customers for a while and were for a period reasonably satisfied. However, the service has gotten much worse over time, and is now entirely unacceptable. We received produce that was wilted and in one case simply not fit for human consumption. More recently, we didn't get any shipment at all. When we reached their customer service, they said we would get a refund, but then later they came back and said the box would arrive the next day and they wouldn't refund us our money even though we had gone out to the grocery store and purchased food for the week. We also made it clear that the food we had been getting from them already looked old, and we didn't want food that was in their box an additional 24 hours.
It took an hour of argument with them before they finally relented and refunded us the full amount. We will be changing to a different company shortly. This service is as poor as both our review and the reviews of others. Find some other company to do business with.

My friend told me about marley spoon so i made a account and havent even made a selection but seen on my bank account they took the funds. I called customer service about this issue and they said they cant reimburse me. This is stealing from customers in my opinion. How are you going to charge someone when they haven't even made a food selection?, I cant believe you feel right stealing from people, what a horrible company. I wouldnt even give one star but i had to should be a 0 review option because thats what you deserve. Do not buy from this company.

Our first box was delivered a day late. The outside of the box was "soft" in areas and when I opened it up I saw why. The ice packs were all melted and the condensation left us with wet soggy bags of vegetables which were not cold. The meat was under the melted ice packs and it was cool, but not cold. It was a soggy disappointing mess and I won't be eating the meat products as they have not been maintained at a proper temperature. I tried calling the company and after 10 minutes on hold, I got a busy signal and then the phone just disconnected. This company has no business being in business.
Since Marley Spoon does not have an option to leave a review on their website I am leaving reviews everywhere else that a I can. I am warning anyone who sees this to NEVER order from them! My box is 2 days late, I've emailed twice and not gotten a response and when you call you get put on hold for 10 minutes and then Martha comes in a ore-recorded message and says that no one is available and to try again later... and then the call drops. NEVER AGAIN!
We have used both Blue Apron and Hello Fresh and were extremely happy with both, and I assumed being that Marley spoon was backed by Martha stewart that it would be a home run. I was sorely disappointed, not with the recipes or food since my box never arrived... but with the lack of customer service, lack of any response and with being left to feel like I was swindled out of my money. Buyer beware with this service!
First week I received one portion for one meal. The radish was completely rotten, black inside. I emailed and sent messages as well as attempted to use their chat option. No response. No help from chat. Second meal: black mush for lettuce. Again, I emailed and messaged repeatedly as well as so many chat requests with zero response. There were no recipes. NONE. This company is completely worthless and as far as customer service goes, there is none. NONE. Do not use martha and marley spoon.

I ordered two meals per week, two portions each meal. I received one portion for one meal and the radish was rotten, black inside. Also, no recipes were included. The second meal included lettuce, black mush. Unusable.
I made up an account just so I could check out their recipes. Next thing I knew I received an email saying my first box was on it's way. I immediately logged in to cancel it. That wasn't an option, so I called. No one ever answered their 800 number. Just listened to classical music while on hold for 30 minutes until it finally cut me off (twice). Used the chat feature on the website and explained that I not only never ordered any food, but I don't even eat the type of meat they were sending me. This was all done on the same day they notified me via email they were sending me food. The chat agent said there was no way to cancel the order. I was just stuck with food I never ordered and food I do not eat and stuck with the bill for it as well.
I wrote to the company 3 weeks ago to find out if they had at least two fish dishes each week. I specified that we do NOT eat shellfish. It took 3 weeks to get a response, which I included below in the photo, and it said they have 3-6 fish choices per week. So I signed up and there was only 1 fish choice per week so I cancelled and they sent me an emailthat I would receive my first order and then get cancelled. The policy said that I needed to cancel 6 days in advance, but the first order was set for May 23 which is 12 days from now. So then, I needed to contact them online in live chat to make sure they refunded me and cancelled my order. The employees don't know what fish is and theircomputersystem can't calculate 6 days. They are thieves and idiots!
I ordered two meals to try the products. Each meal was missing ingredients. Such a pain, I had to stop in the middle of prep and turn everything off and go to the store. I won't order from them again.
Not sure it's worth it anymore: Have received multiple boxes with food gone bad, food not in its bag, very tough meat several times and ingredients that simply are not fresh. Last order came with arugula and another green that I had to toss immediately.
Received promo box - wrong food delivered.
Received email that night (didn't see it until next morning) - Marley Spoon had chosen new order for me (which I wasn't aware of with promo) and couldn't be cancelled or changed.
False advertising and coercion used in ordering tactics.

I had five meals delivered through Martha and Marley Spoon. Have used other food prep delivery services which were good…but thought I would give them a try. First not all the meat was included to which they responded will put 9 dollars toward your next order. Then the basil had brown spots and veg, wilted. Don't use them. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have had this service for 4 weeks and have had delivery issues for 2 of the 4 weeks. My most recent order was received by Courier Express on 7/19/21 for scheduled delivery 7/20/21. It is now 7/21/21 and still no delivery. At 4:51 pm I contacted Customer Service and was told Courier Express would be contacted to find out when delivery would be made and that i would receive an email shortly with a delivery update. It is now 8; 15 pm and I have not received either the promised email or my Marley Spoon order. This had caused me to make other arrangements for 2 dinners and the weather here in FL is in the 90's, so even if this delivery does show up, I am concerned about the safety of the food. Will be requesting a refund for this order and canceling my account with this program.
My meal kit arrived late in the day March 1st all of the item's haphazardly thrown in the box.Unpacked and put in refrigerator to start using the next day.Not impressed the third meal in so I go to cancel and they tell me the next order has already generated and there is nothing they can do for me.The long and short is if your not sure you are going to like Marley Spoons service schedule your 2nd delivery 2weeks after your first order is delivered as there business model appears to get you to try a discounted box and then stick you with a full price box.There customer service seemed very gleeful in telling me they where not going to do anything for me and never offered to try and accommodate me in anyway.

I tried this meal plan after trying Blue Apron and Green Chef. I canceled after only 2 weeks even though I was leaving behind two weeks of discounted food. The meals I picked were tasteless, full of oil and high in calories. The last meal I cooked had a black hair in the shrink wrapped chicken and the fresh basil was black. I had already canceled the plan before I cooked this last meal and knew I had made the right choice. Will not go back to this plan.
I really wanted to like Marley Spoon, but the customer service was terrible. My delivery did not show up on Tuesday. I reached out and was told it would be delivered Wednesday. It did not show up Wednesday, so I reached out again asking when it would be delivered and if the food would still be safe to eat (it was seafood). I was told that it was safe as long as it "felt cool to the touch." When about a specific time frame, I was told clearly that my order was shipped out just that morning (Wednesday morning) and it would be fine. I checked FedEx, and my order was scanned in NJ at midnight on Monday... seafood in a box for 96 hours... the straight-out lie was the end of it.
I'm a mom of two who was trying out these boxes because I'd run out of steam and creativity after feeding my kids and husband every day for months. I've tried them all and was excited for this because it's Martha Stewart and I figured at least it would be well organized. The box had no chicken for the chicken recipes. No garlic for any of them. There was a note apologizing for messing up in 2020 (when I wasn't a customer) and informing me that they'd included a chocolate cake with my purchase. There was no cake. It felt like a comedy of errors. I'm a one and done customer and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The food was fine, but even if they had been properly packaged, the portions are stingier than the other boxes and the produce is a shade less than fresh.

That says it all. I really wanted this meal plan company to work for me. Any company Martha Stewart pares up with should say it all. Twice they delivered my product box to a incorrect address. Never got to try it. To boot, I have to wait 7 business days for a refund. Not what I expected with a Martha Stewart endorsement. Don't even give it a chance.

I have been ordering Marley Spoon for over a year. The recipes are very flavorful. Luckily, I have not had the same experience reported by others. The shipments have been carefully packed and the vegetables fresh. I wonder if the shipment center makes a difference? I live in the SF Bay Area. I much prefer Marley Spoon to Hello Fresh. I have not had missing items like I did with Hello Fresh.

This meal delivery service is WAY too expensive for the poor quality of ingredients I receive week over week. I just cancelled my service after several months because I was done with the poor quality assurance causing me to receive moldy, wilted, and soft produce. That last time (of several) I received moldy produce, I contacted them to let them know I was going to cancel if it happened again and I still haven't heard back! I was hoping for better given the name behind the brand but, of all the meal delivery services I've ordered, the only good thing was the ethnic foods available.
Missing box on first delivery. Delivery service had no clue what happened to the box. Communication poor between delivery service and Martha & Marley. I was told the box needed to be "reissued" by Martha & Marley Spoon and I needed to contact them but after contacting M&M was told they do not reissue boxes. I was given the run around by customer service and still have not received my box. Never again!
