I tried this meal plan after trying Blue Apron and Green Chef. I canceled after only 2 weeks even though I was leaving behind two weeks of discounted food. The meals I picked were tasteless, full of oil and high in calories. The last meal I cooked had a black hair in the shrink wrapped chicken and the fresh basil was black. I had already canceled the plan before I cooked this last meal and knew I had made the right choice. Will not go back to this plan.
We were customers for a while and were for a period reasonably satisfied. However, the service has gotten much worse over time, and is now entirely unacceptable. We received produce that was wilted and in one case simply not fit for human consumption. More recently, we didn't get any shipment at all. When we reached their customer service, they said we would get a refund, but then later they came back and said the box would arrive the next day and they wouldn't refund us our money even though we had gone out to the grocery store and purchased food for the week. We also made it clear that the food we had been getting from them already looked old, and we didn't want food that was in their box an additional 24 hours.
It took an hour of argument with them before they finally relented and refunded us the full amount. We will be changing to a different company shortly. This service is as poor as both our review and the reviews of others. Find some other company to do business with.
Terrible. I expected excellent quality and service from a Martha Stewart endeavor. One package was missing the steak. All packages were late. Most were missing the recipe cards. The beef was cheap - poor flavor, not tender and difficult to chew. The meals were definitely not worth the money we paid.
Customer service is non-existent. We sent emails regarding the missing meat and got back form letter responses - "we're busy - we'll get back to you". They never did.

If you have a problem with an order— I have had missing items and undelivered orders —forget about getting any immediate help. They don't answer the phone and you might get an email response in a few days. They just don't seem to care. Sloppy packaging, inferior ingredients, recipe missteps. Doesn't sound like Martha Stewart, does it? Completely unreliable. And I believe on other review sites, the 5star reviews are phony.
Had an issue with delivery. Package was opened and some contents missing. Sent an inquiry to customer service only to get an automated reply it may be 72 hours to hear back. I Canceled account due to questionable status of perishable contents. Got response offering $15 credit on next order. They acknowledge acct was canceled but sent another package anyway. However, they charged the full amount. Sent another inquiry only to get the exact same response, as though it was automated. They never addressed my complaint, never refunded the original amount and never even refunded the $15. Wish I checked on reviews before subscribing.
My food never arrived. Customer service is practically non existent. For whatever reason they are refusing to issue a refund. They did offer a credit even though they could not provide a difinitive date for if or when the food would be delivered. I am currently disputing the charge with my bank.
Received only 2 shipments and both had issues. First one the box was opened and barely taped shut. The second shipment was missing the steak for a steak dish. You cannot get through to customer service because they are "all busy helping other customers"... all the time. They do not respond to chat box or email as you are directed to do by the outgoing message when you call in. The only time you get a response is when you unsubscribe. The only reason why I gave it 2 stars is because the one meal I was able to make was pretty good. Extremely disappointed with the lack of quality control and unavailable customer service. I was really excited to try Marley Spoon, I'm a huge fan of Martha and the selection was really impressive. I occasionally order from Hello Fresh but find the selections limited and redundant and find the up charges for the decent choices annoying. The first box I got from Marley Spoon was missing a meal, the second box was missing 2 meals and this week I didn't get my box at all. Really too bad, the three meals I actually received were really great but talk about incompetent processing! As much as I enjoyed the few meals I got and all the choices available I couldn't recommend them to anyone.
I had five meals delivered through Martha and Marley Spoon. Have used other food prep delivery services which were good…but thought I would give them a try. First not all the meat was included to which they responded will put 9 dollars toward your next order. Then the basil had brown spots and veg, wilted. Don't use them. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE
I would not recommend this service to anyone. I tried to setup a food delivery as a gift for Christmas. There is no gift option for one! I tired to contact them and I kept on getting emails that stated we will respond in 72 hours and continuously asked if the problem was solved. Obviously NOT, since I was not able to talk to anyone there! I setup a gift under my name but provided my friends address. The delivery was late and missing most all the ingredients. What was delivered was pork chops which were not frozen and the box was leaking liquids!
This is such as huge disappointment. The recipes were good -- and, although it is an expensive (yes -- more than the other boxes plus they charge for the stinking unreliable delivery service) box I wanted to keep it. BUT, damn, this is the second time the delivery has been over a day late and the food is not even cool to the touch. I cannot even think about eating it! Disgusting to say the least. In addition they have made some really crummy substitutions for the main ingredients. Martha has a recording when you call customer service -- she should take her name and her voice and run to the hills because this is not what anyone expects from her! They will be chanting "Lock her up!" soon if she doesn't get out of this horrible business.
I really wanted to like Marley Spoon, but the customer service was terrible. My delivery did not show up on Tuesday. I reached out and was told it would be delivered Wednesday. It did not show up Wednesday, so I reached out again asking when it would be delivered and if the food would still be safe to eat (it was seafood). I was told that it was safe as long as it "felt cool to the touch." When about a specific time frame, I was told clearly that my order was shipped out just that morning (Wednesday morning) and it would be fine. I checked FedEx, and my order was scanned in NJ at midnight on Monday... seafood in a box for 96 hours... the straight-out lie was the end of it.
I was referred by a friend and in the short time that I was a customer, they did not deliver my food three times. It's so frustrating when you have a guest coming for dinner and are planning to make the meal you ordered and it never arrives. After the first incident, I thought I'd give them another chance only to have it happen two more times. Three strikes... you're out! I also found the produce, especially the herbs, to be wilted and yellow. The customer service reps seem to care less. I was told that my box would arrive a day or two late. Based on the tracking, this means the food sat on a truck for 3-4 days in 90-degree heat. No thank you. Don't waste your time with this food delivery service.
Don't trust the quality of the food they send you I've had three boxes with spoiled food, one of the ingredients was basil and the smell was so rotten I had to throw it out immediately there was no way that spoiled in transportation that was already spoiled weeks before I picked the order.
The worst delivery food service ever. My vegetables were always spoiled or I never received them. Delivery dates are never accurate. And the recipes call for things I don't normally have on hand like vinegar which is in every recipe. All the other boxes I tried includes a small sample of vinegar to use in these recipes. Don't waste your money!
Received my first shipment from Martha and marley spoon. I ordered 3 meals with 2 servings. I was so looking forward to one recipe in particular and well ingredients were missing. Actually the main ingredient was missing. The recipe was for fish tacos and yep no fish!. I called the company and they said they would refund for the price of the item missing. The finally agreed to refund for the whole meal since you cant make fish tacos with no fish! Meal pack included tomatoes that aren't ripe. Not happy at all and cancelled subscription.
I'm not even a picky eater whatsoever, but I had the absolute worst meal of my existence. I made the meal and none of my family could even choke it down; we ended up going out to eat. When I wrote the company, and I didn't mince words, they offered me a $5 credit. I will never forget the slop they tried to pass off as a meal and will never order from them again.
This review is for the lower priced line called Dinnerty. For three (3) weeks box comes to someone not me listed at an incorrect address. That street number does not exist, our house used to be a two/family so Fedex dumps it on the planter/that we have blocking our unused stairway. I've emailed customer service/sent photos of the labels. Customer service said that they found the account/boxes on pause until they contact her--then the third box was delivered. Told me they emailed customer no word back and cannot cancel. Due to Pandemic I don't want to waste the food/but not safe to donate either. I actually googled and gave customer service 2 possible addresses and a cell and I got a Dear Sir/that's not customer policy email form again. Sigh/I fear I shall have these boxes showing up until this person finally calls and cancels. Sad part is they probably won't get their money back. From my experience with them as a good samaritan--this is awful/stay away.
The quality of Martha and Marley spoon is very good. A few days ago I wanted some marth and Mali spoons and in due time I got my ordered things. Their service was very good and service holder of this site was friendly to us.

Answer: "Home Chef" is so far so good! We got tired of similar taste at Home Chef so I ordered from "Hello Fresh" but they started to deliver old carrots that could bend and didn't snap many times. I was tired to complain so I used my own carrots and terminated this company. We still like Home Chef so we have ordered from them for about a year.
