The staff is warm and friendly, and will greet you by name when you walk in. The massages are great, especially once you find the therapist best for you. Prices are so reasonable you don't have to chase Groupon deals to save money on a massage that you may not even like.
This business owed me three massage packages valued at $240. I attempted to get a response from the cooperate office of Massage Envy in Arizona to get a response and was completely ignored. The Better Business Bureau on my behalf reached out and got no response as well. Each month for over a year I paid a monthly membership fee that was debited from my bank. This business, still on an almost weekly basis,is sending emails to purchase services from this business. Massage Envy should be put out of business.
Used the service a lot before I moved further away, I ended with approx 75 massages paid for and not used. I used the service where they only charge $10 a month for a few months, but they only allow you to use it once, even with the huge amount of massages I had, they would not let me use it again. So I had no choice but to cancel because I paid waaay too much money for a membership I couldn't use because of travel time to a location. But did not see the paper work they had to email me to "finalize" my cancellation until about a week after their "deadline" to sign and they charged me for another month. I reached out and asked if they could please extend me that one month curtesy, and they adamantly would not. I find that soo hard to believe after being a customer for soo many years and keeping their membership in hopes of using it more. They lost a customer over $78. I will never use the service again. (Germantown Massage Envy)
Leawood location- poor management, 3 of my scheduled appointments was cancelled 20 minutes before, no help from management, very disappointing, will not recommend to anyone
This is the worst place in the Boise/Meridian area to get a massage. It is literally impossible to schedule online - no availability for 90 days, and they don't let you schedule any further out. Kept calling to use a gift certificate from my kids, they had paid $150, and Massage Envy promotion added a $40 voucher, so I thought for $190 I'd get at least 3 massages. Instead, I got one. When I tried to schedule, they never had times I could go, and I was not being picky, just wanted evenings or weekend. You can't schedule more than 90 days out by phone, either. Finally got an appointment, but the $40 voucher expired after 90 days. Massage Envy would not honor it. Also found out a 50 minute massage is $120! So without the voucher, I only had enough for one massage - I just gave the extra $30 to the therapist as a tip because I was not interested in spending any more money with this sleezy company. Their program is NOT a good value - $70 per month for a 50 minute service, and you have to commit for an entire year. I know from reading other reviews that they will take clients to court if they try to stop the contract because they can never get an appointment. What a terrible business philosophy. Support some other non-franchise massage business!
I do not know where to start. I started a membership with ME and used it a lot but then it was so hard to get an appointment so the sessions kept building up. I am now leaving overseas and cannot use the sessions I have paid for. The GM told me she would cancel my membership but the sessions would never expire. So I thought it would be nice to give them to friends and family. I called ME and they said that the GM has to approve the transfer since it was an expired membership. I have emailed, called and even took the time to go into the store and still after a week, I cannot get the GM to approve it so the employees can transfer my sessions. I have emails etc from the GM but still cannot do anything. I was told I would get a call back yesterday but nothing. The employee today called the GM but I will not be surprised if I do not get a call back.
I just do not understand how this happens. I truly believe this GM is sinking and cannot deal with what is going on. Where did customer service go?
Updated** I received an email from someone from ME and they said that they can no longer transfer the sessions because of a system update. If they really wanted to honor my membership for the past years, they could easily let me transfer those sessions. So Lori Eastman who is the GM is going back on her word to me and couldn't even call me. She had to email me so I couldn't ask why.
I truly hope the leadership of ME see this and see what kind of ship they are running.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use or get a membership at Massage Envy in Idaho
I had a horrible experience at Massage Envy in Annapolis, MD. I decided to get the membership after receiving a monthly add on perk with each monthly massage. I went into get my massage and the front desk employee told me that she did not know what the monthly add on was and that she needed a physical copy of the add on. I did not have it with me (no one told me I needed it with me to get the benefit that I paid for), so I called my husband to ask him to take a picture of it. When I showed the employee the picture, she said she still could not accept it. It was just for aromatherapy (literally some essential oil) and she seriously could not add that on for me even though it was my benefit as a member!? When I questioned it, she called her manager, who agreed that I simply could not get the aromatherapy without a physical copy. I have been to tons of massage spas and have gotten aromatherapy for free with no membership or anything! It's very petty of Massage Envy. Because of this rip off experience I will be telling all of my friends/family to not waste their time going there and I will never come back after my membership expires.
My experience was a shame because the hard work and good job of the massage therapist was overshadowed by other issues that left a bad taste in my mouth. First, the massage was very good. I didn't like the deceptive practice in stating one price which included a one time discount for new customers plus a 10.00 coupon. When I spoke to the front desk attendant multiple times over the phone when I was booking the appointment, I was told that the coupon I found online at the webpage of the site was good and that she already applied it to my service.
I also waited an extra 10 minutes before my massage. It was nice but not worth the $70 dollars plus tip (total $80.) for 45 minutes. At the end of my service, there was no record of my discount and the front desk was far from friendly. It was awkward and unpleasant to see the suggested tip posted so close to the register. In spite of my massage therapist being professional, nice and giving a decent massage, I would never ever go to another Massage Envy spa again. If you like deceptive pricing and not getting value for your money and feeling uncomfortable dealing with the front reception attendant, then waste your money there.
Last Christmas, my friend spent $100 for me at Message Envy because they said they added an additional $20 gift card. So, when I came in for the massage service, they said that there wer totally $120 in my account. So, the 1st section cost me $60. They recommended coming in 6 month for the 2nd session at the same price ($60). But when I came back for the 2nd message, they said $20 in my account was expired. So, only $40 left. Meanwhile, they also said the hour rate increase from $60 to $85. I asked them if the $20 gift card had an expiration date why not let me use that first. I was not happy with their dishonesty, asked for returning the remaining money back, but they said you have to talk to the manager. I called the Sherwood Manager several times, finally reached her. She talked with a very cold tone by saying she cannot do anything since my friend spent money in Beaverton, a city in the same Portland metropolitan area. I had to call the owner and left a message. But the owner has never called me back. So, don't spend money there. Especially, during the holiday season, they tried to let you spend more money to get so-called gift card. But they play tricks. Vey unprofessional and dishonest business.
I have had many massages over the years, but I've never wanted one to be over as much as the one I just had at this location. I got there early but it started late. The therapist seemed to rush through everything, and she spent literally about a third of the time wrapping me, unwrapping me, tucking me, and untucking me in the sheets, stop already with the wrapping and tucking. Its almost like they are trained to waste time with all the wrapping and tucking nonsense. She was bouncing from one part of the body to another and than back again instead of simply focusing on one area and finishing there. It was so rushed and it was so un-relaxing, I was actually getting annoyed by the end of it.
The worst part was when it did end, she actually said to me that she was sorry she didn't get to do my arms and hands as she ran out of time. When I asked why that happened, she said she spent too much time working on other things. What part was that? When I looked at my watch, the whole thing was less than 45 minutes. Gee I thought I booked an hour. The actually told me at the counter that 1 hour massages are actually 50 minutes, but mine wasn't even.
This is a Burke WIlliams wanna be but save your money. Im not trying to be a $#*!, but seriously this was the worst massage experience I have ever had. Too bad.
I SIGNED UP FOR THIER SERVICES BACK IN FEB 2023 AND STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET INTO THE FAIRLAWN OFFICE TO GET MY FIRST MESSAGE. YOU CAN NEVER GET IN ON THE WEEKENDS AND DURING THE WEEK THEY ONLY HAVE 7 OR 8 PM WHICH DOESN'T WORK FOR ME. I HAVE PAID 85.00 FOR 5 MONTHS WITH NO SERVICE BUT THEY REFUSE TO CANCEL MY MEMEBERSHIP. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMAND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.
I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AND IF I HEAR OF ANYONE EVER CONSIDERING GOING TO MASSAGE ENVY I WOULD TELL THEM TO GO TO JAIL TO HAVE A MORE RELAXING EXPERIENCE. TAKING ADVANTAGE OF SOMEONE THAT IS A DEVOUT CUSTOMER IS A COMPLETE DISGRACE! SHUT DOWN PERMANENTLY!
Tip for consumers:
Close down immediately!
IF YOU WANT A GREAT FACIAL, GO TO THE BRAINTREE LOCATION AND BOOK YOUR FACIAL WITH KATTY. SHE IS THE BEST! SHE TAKES HER TIME AND EXPLAINS EVERYTHING SHE'S DOING. SHE'S WELL-TRAINED, VERY PLEASANT, EFFICIENT AND FRIENDLY.
I had a appt at North Attleboro at 1015 I booked over a month ago and they called me at 945 telling me it's cancelled... now I'm a member there so I pay monthly and if you get a 90 minute it's a upcharge. So now that they cancelled my sat morning appt I waited for along time, I said I wanted a discount on additional fees on my reschedule... I said I had to cancelle work and was driving there when they called and the reschedule I would have to get babysitter... so the manager Erin said she was going to call general manager to get permission to do the for me and then she TEXT MSG me saying the staff doesn't feel comfortable with me so I'm not allowed there... I couldn't believe it I was so respectful, so now I can't even make appts cause nothings open and they don't care at all... very poor.
This place is a scam. I signed up my wife for a membership and she couldn't schedule anything for months because they didn't have an actual massage therapist on staff, then they got one and double booked her appointment so they canceled on her, then they over booked again and she had to drop to a 30 min session instead of a 60 min session. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THEM.

I recently got a massage by Andreya she did a great job on my hurting hands and the total massage. Very friendly and professional. I recommend her for a great massage.
Thanks to Lourdes great work at the Falls, polite, professional and helped me a lot in a question of 20 m!
I made my Husband and appointment for his Birthday which was a surprise for him from me. I blind folded his eyes before we left home once we arrived I helped him out of the car and took his blind fold of his eyes, also I parked right in front of the door. We enter the building I speak to everyone as we walk in and I receive and ugly look from the staff I let that slide and went ahead and let the concierge know that he has an appointment so from there where given a form for him to fill out to know and pick out what all he wants done after we fill it out I let the concierge know that I am leaving him there and if they can to call me once he's done and she says ok and she ask him to wait in the waiting area. I leave and not even 3 minutes later one of the ladies call me and tells me that they can't see my husband because he was under the influence ( He was not under the influence at all) so I asked her why would they think that he was under the influence and she never gave me and direct answer but she said the masseuse didn't feel comfortable giving him a message. I feel like because my Husband is a Black man they didn't want to give him a massage which I feel like it was racist thing. The address for this location is 1210 W 43rd ste 200 Houston, Tx *******
This company doesn't ever have to worry about me spending any money with them Ever in Life
And everything I have said is very True!
I went for a massage on Friday, January 6th. I planned on using a $75 gift certificate that I was given and mentioned that when the appointment was made that I would be using the certificate. So, I had a 90 minute session. When I checked out, the cashier asked for a bar code from the E-gift certificate to scan which wasn't present on the certificate. He stated that I should have gotten an email with that bar code. However, I didn't have no such email. So, I had to pay the full amount for the massage due to not having the bar code. This is the second incident that Massage Envy has money grabbed by not honoring there certificates. This company should be CLOSED down for the bad practices that they uphold as it relates to taking clients money and not honoring their products. I would advise others not to patronize this company, no matter the location. Because from my experience and others, their business practices to respect and care for their customers professionally is less than par. I have tried several times to give Massge Envy the benefit of the doubt at other locations, but every time they continue to disappoint to no satisfaction. The mere fact that they take one's money without providing service or options to rectify the problem is unethical and the company is doomed to close it's doors because of this repeated reputation of being less than honorable to their customers.
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT DARKEN ANY MASSAGE ENVY THRESHOLD OF THE DOOR LOOKING FOR SERVICE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.
They will get you to sign an open ended service agreement. They will verbally misrepresent the time frame for the monthly agreement. They will bill you ~$50/month whether you use it or not. They will convince you to have them bill your HSA account (if you have one) which you will not notice. Months will go by and they will continue to extract their monthly fee without your knowledge. You will pay them for NO SERVICE PROVIDED until you take action or until the HSA account is depleted! They make it difficult to sign-out of the agreement. They will be completely inflexible in the aftermath.
These open ended contracts need to be declared ILLEGAL by the MN STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL; Lori Swanson! Write her! Think my case is unusual? Check out other reviews for here & for other locations. You'll note the trend!
VOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT AT ALL COSTS. They are a franchised establishment and my experience is with the MAPLE GROVE, MN location. Nationally they are now being accused of sexual molestation. (ref NBC Today Show News 27-Nov-17)
I had a facial in their Long Island store with Debi Allen she was the worst. Never never again. The most horrible experience
I've had my ME membership for several years. I had an terrible customer service issue at the Charlotte Northlake location so I changed to the Huntersville, NC location. I'm on MY 3rd MASSAGE THERAPIST because of "he doesn't work here anymore." Today (6/22/22), I called the Huntersvlle, NC location to book a 7/09/22 or 7/10/22 massage with my latest therapist. I was informed that he was booked out 30-60 days. This is the 3rd time I've called and he's been booked out so far out in advance. The front desk person asked if I would consider another therapist. I reluctantly told her yes but when she checked the schedule, no other thetapst was available. I was asked if I wanted to be put on a cancellation list and I agreed. Today, I ALSO called the Concord, NC location (25 minutes from my home) and was told that there were no appointments on Friday, 7/08/22 or 7/09/22. Because I travel for work, I call several weeks in advance to ensure I have an appointment sometime the weekend I'm home so there really is no good reason why I can't receive service.
At this point, I don't want to put on any cancellation list. I want to cancel my membership. I've been told I'd lose all of my accrued sessions and would not receive a refund for them although they are paid for. I should not be financially penalized because of lack of staff, lack and/or poor customer service. My advice? If you are considering a membership, save the stress on your nerves and wallet and DON'T DO IT!
While getting a facial at the Culver City location, told the lady giving me the facial that it was burning. She immediately removed it. My face being very sensitive we decided to just wash off all product and to put some soothing moisturizer on it. She said she would leave something at the front desk for me. When I checked out there was a small package for me with moisturizer and sun screen. I use the products for a few days and my skin was peeling like from a sunburn. The products were working and my dead skin was coming off very nicely.
I went back three days later and the same manager was there and recalled the incident. She went in the back and came out with another escapologist who asked what did I want and I told her that just a little sample bottle of the calming cream that I had gotten the other day. After taking a quick look at my face she said she could not help me and that I should go to a dermatologist. I wasn't complaining about the burning or even the way my face was peeling just wanted a little bit more of the cream I would've gladly paid for it. She said she couldn't recommend anything and that I should see a dermatologist. I took it to mean that she wanted me to go to a doctor and then of course, naturally I would have to sue because it's not my fault that I was going to the dermatologist. My opinion was it was no worse than a mild sunburn and I really liked the cream, I would've paid for some. She made no attempt to help me. Her name is Rita, I had gotten a facial from her before and was not pleased. I am going to have them put on my file that I am never to have to speak to Rita ever again. Poor customer service, rude, and basically suggested that I should sue for a minor peeling after a facial. Rita does not give a good facial, I've had her before, and she does not give good customer service. I love my masseuse, and my regular escapologist, that is why they even get 2 stars. Avoid Rita if you can!
Please please please read fine print and ask questions regarding your memberships several times! Rude management, unprofessional and not helpful.
STAY FAR, FAR, AWAY FROM THE SEAL BEACH MASSAGE ENVY!
Unfortunately, there is no way to review and give zero stars. The Seal Beach Franchise of Massage Envy is so poorly managed that, when you have an appointment, you can not count on receiving services. Today was the 4th time this has happened to me. Twice, when I arrived for my appointment, they had no record of it. Three times I was notified the day of my appointment, but prior to my arrival, that the masseuse wasn't available. The first time, the masseuse was ill. The second time, the masseuse "wasn't able to come to work" that day. The third time, the same individual as the second time no longer worked for them, yet they scheduled my appointment with him.
When I spoke to the poorly kempt manager today and asked for a refund for the 8 credits that I have on the books she told me I would have to talk to corporate about that. When I asked for the contact information for the owner I was advised that the information was not available. When I asked for the telephone number for the corporate office I was told she didn't have that information either, that nowhere in the entire building was that information available. She did give me a list of emails and one number for customer service, which ended up being the number for a franchise in Michigan, who kindly emailed the corporate number to me. At this point, I have not been able to contact anyone at that number.
Tip for consumers:
Do not go to the Seal Beach Franchise.

I went in for a massage, but... Well, read the review. When I asked for a refund for the remaining services I had on the books I was told they couldn't do it from the franchise, and they owe me $560.00.
I've used Massage Envy in Georgia.
The quality of massages varied from great to poor, depending on the therapist you get. Most of the people that work here are rather new or just graduated from school. That being said, it doesn't mean you'll get a bad massage.
The $50 a session is a great price if you get a dependable person who listens to your needs. It has mixed results, I would say 50/50. At least half the time I got a fairly decent service but the other half, it was pretty darn bad. I had one guy that was so rough I asked him several times to be gentler. After about the 5th time, I told him I had enough and left.
Far as the price for relaxation, I will give them 3 stars. What you pay is pretty good for what you get.
Now, let's talk about the contract. Yikes! The first one you get the discounted price, then you have to agree to a monthly fee of $50 for one year. If you don't sign the contract the price is 1.5 to 1.8 times higher. Instead of $50 an hour, it's like $80 an hour. Trust me, you won't get a massage here worth $80 - the ambiance isn't worth the additional $30.
If you agree to the contract, they charge your method of choice once a month for $50. For that you get one service a month of choice at the discounted rate. As an example, you get a 60 min massage or facial (if they offer it) - if you want 90 minutes or something more, you have to pay the difference. If you can not use it this month, you can carry it over to next - so not too bad.
The thing is, you are stuck with it for a whole year. If you aren't lucky enough to get someone you like, they will continue to charge you to get a mediocre massage and you paid $600.
The contract is not worth it, the service is 50/50, the price - you get what you pay.
So, customer service is pretty good: 4 stars
Massage varies from time to time: 3 stars
Ambiance/cleanliness is good: 3 stars
Contract is not worth it: 1 star
Tip for consumers:
- Try them out at discount price, but don't sign the contract. They will give you their top masseuse on your "trial" so don't be fooled.
- If you're okay with average, then go for it.
