As most are aware, Matches is in liquidation and I am devastated to see this happen. If one were to read my previous reviews of this company the only service that was lacking and inferior was the most important service of all. Customer service. This is not the fault of the employees, it is the fault of the senior management ànd/or the owners. I told them this repeatedly but my warnings were not needed and ignored. Customer service in any business is the most important service of all and by ignoring it, matches has gone down the pan. Matches are in administration and will not let you return if the item is not right. After being a loyal customer for many years they have let me down! No service and loyalty does not exist, think again before purchasing!
I've made a purchase more than two month ago. I have no parcel and I have no idea where is it. The worst thing is that matches customer support is doing absolutely nothing and not only not helping, but doing some strange thing that are not in client's interest. After a month of my purchase I started trying to reach out matches customer support to help me with UPS. The parcel was at my country, I paid huuuuge tax (that is almost half of a price of my parcel), but I don't know why ups was not delivering my parcel. Matches customer support did absolutely nothing and some day without even talking to me they mentioned that they asked to return my parcel (I was not asking that!). I wrote back immediately and asked not to do that. But parcel was delivered to some facility already, that was told by ups, because matches couldn't answer me at all. They kept ignoring me and after 9-10 days they messaged that parcel was delivered (they meant to me!), this is a nightmare! So it's been more that 2 month after the purchase, I have no parcel, no money, no help. This is like the worst experience ever. Please do not use this website, you loose your money, your nerves and get nothing

I purchased some Fendi earrings (almost $500) and upon arrival one of the earrings was tarnished. I immediately notified Matchesfashion.com. I asked if there was an opportunity to exchange for another pair. I was asked to send pictures of the earrings, which I did. I was told that a decision would be made within 48 hours and someone would contact me at that time. 48 hours went by - no response from Matchesfashion.com, 72 hours went by- no response, 96 hours went by- no response, 120 hours- no response, 144 hours went by- no response. Only after I contacted Matchesfashion to hold them accountable to ME as a customer did I hear from them. They acted as if I was bothering them, and said that they wouldn't be providing a monetary credit or refund and that I need to return the item. I HIGHLY recommend that you don't purchase anything from this retailer. They don't value customers, they aren't customer service focused, and they sold me tarnished earrings without trying to make it right. I don't ever plan to purchase anything from their site going forward.

Purchased sandals spring of 20. They fell apart when I opened the box this summer.
They would not compensate me for the defective shoes.

Matches runs a refer-a-friend programme. I referred my friend who has NEVER shopped with matches at all, and when she couldn't use my referral link we approached customer service for advice.
Their response: "We are sorry to advise that both these referrals are invalid as they do not meet the criteria of this program and have been flagged for gaming".
I have only ever referred one other customer, my brother, and this was in 2019.
Back then my brother and I had the same problem with the referral link not working, and were helped by customer service manager Sarha because the agent assigned was useless. I thought Matches would have fixed it by now and thus referred my friend. How wrong I was to have any faith in this company
When I asked them to explain why we were flagged, they came back 3 days later with this COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT ONE-SENTENCE GEM:
"I have just heard back from our marketing team who have advised that there is no record of (my friend's email address) being referred on the system. Kind regards."
So if my friend's email doesn't exist as being referred on the system WHY WOULD YOU ACCUSE US OF GAMING IN THE FIRST PLACE? It's just so senseless it blows my mind?!

I ordered a few months ago a pair of gucci princetown as I liked my previous ones so much (bought my previous ones straight from the gucci store) but this time I thought why not online? After I ordered them online the shoes arrived and I thought yay lets wear them, after not even joking 4 minutes with a protective layer the front of the shoe (wooden material) just broke off? I have never seen something like this? I contacted them straight away and returned the shoe! They promised it wont take longer than 3 weeks... well its been now 8 weeks and during the waiting time they nearly ignored all my messages! Had to contact my credit card company trying to get back my money... today after these 8 weeks they finally got back and said, they wont give me a return? And that they will send the shoes back? Now I'm sitting here thinking, you guys left me in the dark for weeks, ignored me, sold me a faulty product and you wont even refund me my money? I bought the shoes back then to wear in summer as they are slipper? I do not need them especially a faulty shoe for this price nearly £500 to wear in winter now? I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK!
So if you consider investing in such an expensive shoe please please go to Selfridges or directly to the store but DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

I called them twice more since then and now they are telling me it could take a month to hear back from UPS on the investigation.
This is stealing, they should deal with UPS, its their carrier and their fault. This is crazy, refund my transaction immedately.
Goods arrived damage, took a week to respond and offered next to know compensation. Shocking service!

I have been a customer of matchesfashion.com. The site has a lot of nice product on sale. I have had no problem in the past with purchasing from them but it was an uncommon story today.
The item ******* Burberry cap went on sale 40% on July 3,2020 at 12:30 AM (MDT) which brought the price to $168 USD instead of $280 USD. I had the item in the cart but I was too tired to get out of bed to dig out my credit card. I waited until this morning. It was a mistake. The item in my cart was no longer 40% off. Yet, the product listing page still listed 40%. I have the screenshot as proof. There was pricing issue. I contact customer service. After waited for 40 minutes, the agent, Sarah, advised me that the item was not on sale. It was the web error, and the issue had been flagged. She refused to honour the price.
A commercial website had the technical difficulty, and they were not aware of the issues. They frustrated me with the situation. I don't think I will shop here again.
So, please check your credit card statements when you shop at this site. With the glitches they had, you might end up paying triple for the item.
I don't recommend shopping on here.
Update (12 hours later): after the sweet talk from the floor manager, Alex, I got an email from an agent with the information that I already got from Sarah. Basically they want to blame on the technical issues and dishonored the discount price. I quoted the content of the email below.
"Dear Sam,
Thank you for contacting MATCHESFASHION.
Upon checking our system, I can see that the correct price for the Burberry Cap is USD $320.
Please be kindly informed that all prices are subject to change depending on our internal pricing plan and items can be excluded from an on going sale.
We sincerely apologize for the disappointment this has caused and thank you for your kind understanding.

I've purchased Versace sneakers from the company in June 2019.
The gold plated hardware literally fell off the item on the third day of wear. I have photographic proof of what happened. After many attempts to contact the company (including sending many costly mail correspondences), they've agreed to accept the item for repair. After that, they were not responding to any requests from me and when I got an answer, it made no sense at all. Matchesfashions keep dragging the issue longer and longer and just simply kept ignoring me.
It took over 3 months to get the merchandise back.
When I returned it I took pictures of how it was mailed back for repair.
When I got the so-called "repaired" product back, it was something absolutely unbelievable: the footwear was covered with glue residue all over and dirt, the second pair (from the original packaging) of the Versace shoe laces was not in the shipment. The gift box was completely trashed. Most importantly, the Gold plated hardware fell off again on the first try! I
T definitely looked like someone wore the sneakers for a while, before they were returned to me. Otherwise there were never repaired or repaired by someone without any knowledge of "how to repair the footwear". I
Contact them again. I, again, spent a lot of time putting all the proofs together. Hey got back to me almost a month later and only after I demanded answers. At that point I was 6 (!) months into this fiasco.
The response from Matchesfashion rather shocked me. They stated that the item repaired was shipped to me in a better condition than it was when I mailed it back. That was complete dishonesty. I requested a proof of their claim, after all, at that point they were basically calling me a lire. No proof of their claim was ever produced, because it simply doesn't exist. I suggested that MATCHESFASHION fashion credits my account with 50% US Dollar value of then total I paid for the item towards future purchases and for what they've put me through, but I have never heard back. I honestly do not understand why they've treated me with such complete disrespect. I have been a very loyal customer and have spent a lot of money with them to date.
Perhaps, international consumer standards commission would like to re-view this matter?
Instead of going to Fendi direct, my partner and I thought we would try Matchesfashion.com as the £500+ trainers she wanted to buy me were £30 cheaper. Here the review of our unpleasant experience.
I successfully placed an order on 15th January for two pairs of trainers and received order confirmation email. The next day they cancelled it without giving a reason. When I called to see why, they told me it was probably due to my Amex card being declined. Well, that was not the case because I could see the transaction on my statement as the payment went through.
They told me to place an order again, so I placed another order using a different VISA card and got the email confirming the order. Looked at my bank statement and another £791 was debited from my card by Matchesfashion.com. Then an email asking for photographic ID documents arrived.
In this day and age when ID theft is a major problem and a real threat with so many companies being data breached, Matchesfashion.com should not be asking customers to send such documents over the insecure email. Surely I was only buying two pairs of trainers, not applying for mortgage. In fact you have to be crazy to send your passport or driving licence to someone who already has your credit card details, home address and email details, even if they claim they will delete the document upon verification. Deleting a document does not mean it cannot be recovered from the email and from wherever it is saved during the verification. To help retailers card verification the card industry has introduced 3d secure technology, which Matchesfashion.com does not seem to be using, which in itself is a big minus for customer shopping experience.
Naturally I told them I was not comfortable sending my ID but have attached my Barclaycard statement showing the Matchesfashion.com debits to my credit card. I also told them that if ID is a problem I am happy to collect and pay from their store in person.
The next day they cancelled the order as my card statement was insufficient ID and emailed me to say they are unwilling to help and send the items to store for me to pay and collect. After so much wasted time, now my card is blocked with £1582 of debits for up to 5 days, luckily not an issue as I have a large credit.
I guess this is what happens when your business grows and you stop caring about customers. Needless to say I will not be shopping at Matchesfashion.com again. Shopping experience and customer service Ruth and Tom Chapman would be ashamed of if they knew it was happening at their online store.
I purchased a purse from them and received an EMPTY PACKAGE!
I contacted them and thinking with the pandemic being hard on everyone; I really don't care whether there would be a refund or a re-shipment and tried to be as nice as I can.
However, they said they had checked the CCTV with only ONE picture sent to me, confirming that the retailer has packed the item. While from the image you can see, there is a banner/sealing tape with their unique pattern. It is apparently from another box, which I have no access to and cannot fake it. But since I am an honest person, telling them that the package arrived intact, they have no reason to refund or ship the item to me again! Although I checked someone's article, her story goes like: MatchesFasion refused to refund her because the box is not intact.
This is the part I am angry about the most. They are suggesting I am lying by taking the purse and then scamming them.
Last but not least, I also think they are doing this to me because I am Asian and clearly come from China, as they suspect that I won't be able to dispute orwrite reviews?
That's it. All I want is to urge everyone to be very very cautious when placing an order with them.

SO I took a careful look at the package box. I realized that it was opened. The way it fakes to be 'intact', is that, some opened the box by tearing the cardboard sealing, took away the item. Then, he or she retapes it with a "DHL Repacked" tape on it. AS A RESULT, it arrives intact, or the person who took the item frame me to be the one scamming the merchant. However, the merchant stated that they are NOT going to contact DHL starting an investigation whatsoever (they probably won't reply my email starting from now), so, I maintain my initial rating.

Be very cautious with them. Really can't believe what they are doing to customers.
