Meta does not give a s**t about its customers It just wants their money. Got a problem with that shiny new Quest 3 you just bought but don't own a smartphone and want to use a PC to do the initial setup? Go pound sand. As for getting help with the problem from Meta, forget it. Meta has gone out of its way to prevent ANY contact with customers whatsoever. Email? No way. Phone? Are you joking? Chat? Good luck with that. Think that a business making money selling products and/or services to the public should care about their customers? Dream on. I made the mistake of purchasing a Meta Quest headset and after searching extensively online to find instructions for the initial setup on a PC because I don't own a smartphone, all I found were admonitions to go buy a smartphone. I quickly found I wasn't alone. I found literally hundreds of posts from people just like me. (Probably many, many more whose posts I didn't see, truth be told.) Most of these people had returned the headsets because there was no way to set them up without a smartphone. It is absolutely clear that Meta has decided that only smartphone owners should have the exalted privilege of using their Meta Quest headsets. Apparently they are making so much money from the minority of people owning a smartphone that they don't need the other 9 billion potential customers on the planet. More likely, their company management simply doesn't know how to run a business properly.
