This used to be a great service. In the pursuit of money, however, they now have advertising, which you are unable to fast forward through. Ridiculous
Let me start by saying that I live in Salem, Oregon, and the nearest baseball team (the Mariners) is 220 miles away. I am apparently subject to blackout for them, but don't really care because I don't follow them. I signed up to be able to watch Dodger games on my computer while I work or do other things. Last year (2022) I was able to watch nearly ALL of the Dodger games regardless of where they were playing.
This year? For some reason, MLB.TV has me blacked out from every game. I have seen fewer than five games all season so far. I have called customer service half a dozen times. Each time I'm told that based on my location my being blacked out is a mistake. Can they fix it? Nope! They tell me that Tier 1 cannot do that (even though they did it last year) so they will take my number and Tier 2 will call me back within 24-48 hours. Nobody...ever...calls. Not once. I called back and asked for a supervisor. I'm told supervisors are not available and one will call me back within 24-48 hours Big surprise...nobody called. Ever.
To sum up: MLB.tv wants us to pay $120 to see our team...never. Then when we complain, their customer service is non-existent. Great business model. The only reason I gave these thieves one star is because zero stars was not an option.
You can't read an article, or box score even without the page constantly jumping from ads. It's by far the most annoying page I've ever tried to follow.
I wish there was a negative rating, ordered an XL sweatshirt, it has "XL" on it, but definitely about Medium size, sticker on it has "GREEN" but it's black color. I can't return it because it's a personalized shirt. NEVER order from MLB, and going forward I will not be be subscribing to MLB. TOTAL DEBACLE.
Sick and tired of net getting the Red Sox announcers on the MLB.COM, very annoying listening to the opponents local ads, etc noise, when can I expect to get the Red Sox announcers, very soon or I'm cancelling the subscription.
Yes I'm pissed off
The worst thing about the MLB streaming site is that before letting you watch a game that has been completed it first tells you which team won and who was the hero of the game. Yes, that is correct, a full-on spoiler is now unavoidably built in to all archived games. I've been streaming MLB for years and usually watched late-starting games on the following day, which had not been a problem until now. All I had to do was select the "Hide Spoliers" option but, as of a few days ago, some genius at MLB thought we customers would like them to spoil the game for us before we could watch it. As you select a game to stream, before being able to hit "play," a still image pops up showing the key player(s) of the game, clearly revealing who won and often how. So much for "hide spoilers"! I've no idea how this is good for anyone but it's certainly ruined the MLB experience for me and makes me wonder why I even bother to keep my subscription. Hopefully someone at MLB will do something about it before their customers drift away.
I was aware on signing up that the in home games would likely be blacked out, but living south of Richmond VA and watching the Nats I hoped that I would not be considered in market for home games. As it turns out ALL Nats games are blacked out, regardless of home or away. I could get around it by watching on my work laptop that connects via VPN (which, ironically, is in Baltimore and physically closer to Nats stadium), but that is not why I spent money on an HD TV. Fortunately, I only paid for a month, so only out about 16 bucks, but not easy to determine if I could watch games until after I signed up. I asked for a refund, as I signed up for the one team option, that team being the Nats, and since all games are on blackout I kinda feel like they should have made that clear before I paid. Refund denied.
Paid for the MLB season package and playoffs are not included then continue to get charged after season is over. Never again mlb
I purchased tickets on Ticketmaster and the tickets showed up on the MLB app. The day before the event the tickets were still there. One day later when I went to the venue for the event the tickets had disappeared off the app. When I went to the box office they told me that the tickets were purchased with a fraudulent credit card and were revoked. While I was at the event I had been sent replacement tickets in my email. I replied that it was too late I already bought new tickets and I was already at the event. They said that I had opened the tickets and excepted them. I asked them to send me proof of that. They sent me an email accidentally showing another person excepting such tickets. I told them that was not my email and they said sorry here is the acceptance by you showing my email excepting the tickets one minute after the other person had supposedly excepted the tickets. Total fake emails. Total fraud. No refund by anyone - I lost $1200 for Elton John concert. I emailed the other person who also supposedly accepted tickets and they were defrauded by the same person. Do not buy tickets from third parties that will show up in the MLB app!
We have had MLB.COM game feeds to three years. NEVER have we had a problem until this last two weeks when they changed their format and when the cut from the game during a commercial break we lose the feed. I have to start over again with the MLB.COM app, find the game again, and usually we miss about 1 to 2 minutes of the game after play has been resumed since the commercial break. If they stay with a NATIONAL MLB AD LIKE THE BASEBALL ZEN AD, it does not drop the game otherwise here we are again trying to reload the game after the commercial break. I have sent two emails to MLB Customer service and all they did was provide a case number and a link for troubleshooting TWICE. Great service NOT!
MLB has a rating of 1.4 stars from 121 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with MLB most frequently mention customer service and last year. MLB ranks 52nd among Baseball sites.
