At one time, Monster Jobs was a trustworthy job search website for professionals, but over the years it has gradually declined in quality to the point it no longer serves a real purpose for job and career seekers. These days, it seems no matter how badly or well written your resume that you post on there is, its a magnet for unwanted solicitations from insurance companies. Myself, along with many others whom I have seen complain about it, have consistently received unwanted messages from insurance companies trying to suck people into some form of dead-end sales position. Yes, this includes people like myself (whose resume is specifically outlined for healthcare services). Monster jobs have simply because a portal for spammers and scammers to infesting your email with unwanted and unpromising job offers. Its as if these recruiters actually have some commission based quota for the number of people they can get sucked into dead-end positions that are desperate for anyone to the point theres no standard on any qualifications for filing their pathetic positions that clearly no one wants.
My recent experience with Monster.com has left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated, to say the least. The platform not only failed to deliver on its promises but also engaged in dishonest billing practices that left me questioning the integrity of their services.
First and foremost, the issue of transparency arose when Monster.com charged us for months of service without any notification or consent. It was alarming to discover these unauthorized charges, especially considering that we were not benefiting from their services. The lack of communication and transparency on their part is a clear indication of their disregard for customer satisfaction.
Attempting to address the situation, I reached out to Monster.com's customer service in the hopes of resolving the matter and obtaining a refund for the unused and undesired services. However, the response I received was far from satisfactory. The company refused to refund the charged amounts, leaving us stuck with a service that provided little to no benefit to our hiring efforts.
Moreover, the effectiveness of Monster.com in assisting with the hiring process is questionable at best. Despite the substantial financial investment, we observed minimal returns in terms of qualified candidates and job placements. The platform's purported advantages in connecting employers with potential candidates were not evident in our experience.
Given the dishonest billing practices, the lackluster customer service, and the minimal benefits offered in return for the substantial fees, I strongly advise others to steer clear of Monster.com. There are more reputable and transparent alternatives in the job search and recruitment market, with Indeed being one such example.
In conclusion, Monster.com has proven to be a disappointing and unreliable platform that fails to prioritize the interests of its customers. Save yourself the frustration, financial loss, and wasted time by exploring alternative platforms that genuinely deliver on their promises.
Once I signed with them they kept calling me twice a day to explain to me the benefits of the premium membership (paid service), Once I subscribed and paid... that it... no more calls, no more follow up
Called them twice to see any update they promise to check and come back... never did
SCAM... DON'T USE THEIR SERVICE
Posted a job. Did not get a single candidate. Emailed them to cancel. They charged me 130$ for one month for nothing
Wont Find Employment Here - Re: Monster.com
I do not know what happened to the Monster website or whose ideal it was to come up with these so called enhancements, but, if you are/have in fact posting your resume on the Monster website you will need to do a complete review. If you have not noticed when placing your resume on their website and saving it, the website is reformatting your entire document, i. E., your information is strewn throughout the entire document and this is the way it is in fact being received by employers.
You will be unable to correct these changes as it will continue to do the same thing over and over. As per Monster they are aware of this and it is something they are working on but they have no notice placed on their website that they are experiencing this type of dilemma.
One of their representatives even attempted to correct this problem, and it did not work. So please review your resumes in its entirety, as their problem is reformatting all of your resumes and cover letters on file.
I've been using job search sites such as monster.com for a few weeks. I don't really have a problem about the leads they send, but I have substantial problems with customer service. I have a question for them that they could probably answer in 10 seconds. I can't find help online - help is only geared to employers. Likewise, the "support" from the website is geared only to employers. If you call customer service and say "job seeker," you get hung up on automatically after telling you to go to the website. Monster and other like services can only stay alive by having a substantial amount of employer customers. I totally get that. And maybe it is more important than job seekers. I even get that. But there is absolutely no help for job seekers. None. I couldn't even find a chat option. While employers pay the bills (again, I get that), but Monster and other similar services can't get employers without job seekers. Zip Recruiter is my favorite, followed by Indeed. At least you can get assistance from them if you need it.
I had purchased Resume Highlighter Service, Express Resume Service and smart Resume since 60 days and every time I compline to them they say only give us 5 working days and the service will be in your account and I think my money gone with out any benefits I paid over 450$ for the services; moreover the regular account is not working I couldn't update my information even verifying my contacts the only think that other companies from India started to call me and ask me for more money to fined me works lol.
This site is useless unless you have a very good resume and have a lot of job experience. Otherwise, there will not be a great deal of jobs here for you.
After a month of signing up for the package (CV Cover letter connections to relevant recruiters etc...) nothing which was promised has been done:
- My CV still isn't updated. The first version was a 3 pages long CV with terrible format (from my 2 pages original version), the second version was my old CV with a different colour and not a single change in the content
- the cover letter could have been done by an automation service and is not addressing my work search
- I haven't received any relevant leads or connection in my search but a lot of offers in markets I wasn't interested in for job that don't event remotely are related to my profile
- I keep receiving call at 5AM because no one seems to understand I am based in Europe
The list goes on and on!
- My profile isn't up to date online as promised
I keep asking for a refund but no one seems to get the time to answer my request... except to say "we don't do refund!" well if a company don't delivery the bear minimum is giving a refund!
I haven't gotten a job by using the site, but I like their tips. Using their online tips, I was able to do a better interview to land a job that I found on my own.
