“Digital Life is Great, Customer Service is the WORST!”

I really love the Digital Life equipment, but the customer service is horrible. You can never get a representative on the phone. It takes 60 minutes of listening to the same message over and over. The website is useless. It needs to be revamped. It is only for new customers, no support for existing customers. I'm considering going back to ADT after this contract ends! AT&T doesn't care about existing customers, offer no discounts to add on equipment at all. I'm totally over them!

They have the worst client services. Called months ago to cancel service when the digital app no longer worked and was transferred to brinks for an "equipment upgrade" and would have to sign for 3 yr contract… called again today to cancel and was again transferred. It took >45 minutes to cancel a service that has been nothing but a bill since late last yr. Disgraceful how you can't make a request without them trying to upsell. Waste of time and money

I paid a lot of money to have four cameras installed. Most of the time they are not on real time. Today again I can not log in to see my account with the same password I have used. I have come to know that this means technical difficulties. But there is no notice from AT&T. I have had the system for seven months. I can't count the times I have been in the phone with them. When cameras are down you don't have a security system. When contact is up i will be looking for a new system.

To be fair, I like the convenience of accessing the system using your smartphone, but the hassle of dealing with these rude customer service representatives. The $39.99 per month is reasonable but, I can't tolerate people who a rude, difficult to understand & generally unhelpful. Presently Looking for another provider.

My dealing with ATT Digital Life has been positive. I went to a local ATT store in Merrick. LaMar Gilmore, the Salesmanager was on top of his game and flexible with options on special. Devices had point ratings and you could trade around sensor and monitor quantities etc. Install Tech showed on time, installation went smoothly. He briefed me on system, been a week with no false alarms. Got the cellular option with wireless system. Just do your research and know what you want up front to get the best deals, add ons at Installation time can be costly vice making the deals and specials upfront. Set the alarm off once and they called immediately going down contacts as set up. I didn’t pick up until last contact just to see operation. Hope this helps anyone out there.

Still furious. Have not installed it, cannot get a hold of any reps to ask questions, placed on hold for@ 30 minutes before anybody came on, only to find out that all our info is incorrect and informed me they couldn't do anything since I couldn't guess the ss# the store rep used on our account wth!

I typically never take the time to write reviews — too much effort, but wanted to share given how awful it's been. If limited to one word to describe ATT DIgital Life: Pathetic. Service is awful…long waits on hold. Nobody returns phone call. Sometimes they call all the numbers when an alarm goes off…sometimes they don't. Repeater has been offline at least 5 times in my house and they can never seem to fix it. Service reps don't arrive on time, and they don't call. Nobody seems to really care…it's as if they realize it's a horrible product & service and nothing ever gets fixed. My family will cancel the first day we're able, and we'll toss uVerse over the side as well given this horrible experience.

I signed up for a 1 year "package" with U-Verse that included an alarm system. Well apparently Digital Life only does 2 year contracts... so when the year was up and I wanted to cancel (because the service is terrible) they said oh that would be $373 for early cancellation. I was never notified of this 2 year contract and on top of that, the security system was terrible. When it was offline. Sometimes I wouldn't get a call for a few days. It didn't detect anything well. And our motion sensor did not work. Please go to someone else.

I ended up going with Central Security which included a touch screen keypad, smoke detectors, and glass break sensors and pay the same price per month at my new home.

Do not give them your money.

Do not even consider using this. We have had the system for a year until we switched back to ADT. System never worked, cameras worked intermittently, service techs either do not show up or show up hours later. Worst customer service and even the techs that have showed up late that could never figure out our issues said AT&T rolled this system out WAY before it was ready. This was the worst experience we have ever had with security systems. The last tech got into our ADT box we had before and cut 30 contacts and then tells me he was going to charge me 900.00 for thirty new contacts. AT&T refused to fix the damage. We are actually hiring an attorney over the damage and faulty equipment.

You can program your digital life system to alert you through the app in case you lose power, you have dangerously high CO2 in the house, or an intruder. I have lost power several times and 3 times I never received a notification. So it only works half the time. Not good considering you only get one chance if their is an intruder or a gas leak. I don't trust it.

Digital Life hasn't even been around for an entire year yet so how can someone lie and say they lock you in for years? At&t really impressed my husband and I with this new home security. It's affordable and highly innovative. All the others lie and try to get more money thean they state. I love my system especially the cameras

Horrible service! Cancelled in October 2018, paid $180. Received a bill in November for $181. I called, almost 2 hour phone call being transferred from person to person, dept after dept. finally had somebidy that helped me- reduces charge to $60 to cancel "for good". I didn't ever want to pay that amount, but also wanted to be done with them. I received another bill in December for $121.00 which they have now sent to collections. Unbelievable!

Anything the technician does at your house at&t will find a way to deny it. I was a loyal customer had everything at&t cell phone 250, uverse 100 and security 50.400 a month total on at&t now I'm dropping all of it. They won't get anymore of my money the tech moved our entertainment center out causing tv to drop they came out and denied it. I hate at&t and would rather go phone less, cable less and without security. Save me money. For being cheap cheating bastards they lost 4,800 a year from me

Don't get AT&T for your home security! Their stuff is not wireless like they claim. And horrible customer service. I was told one thing by a tech that came to install the services and a rep over the phone which was all a big lie! Now that I just trying to exchange a stupid camera they are telling me I can't after I was promised I could with no charge and they see it in my notes! The supervisor threaten to hang up on me and wouldn't nor wanted to help me.

ATT promised me free digital life if I changed from UVerse to Directv. They lied. They installed equip and charged me hundreds in charges and early termination fees. They are totAl liars and have done this to many other people... Anyone know a good class action attorney?

As a former installer of AT&T digital life please allow me to be very frank with all who read this.
The system itself is no where near what it costs. I installed the system in many homes in NY and NJ. If you dont get good 4G cell phone service in your area, then dont bother purchasing the system. Secondly, AT&T only wants your hard earned money. Sales associates will tell you everything you want to hear but not what you need to hear. Ive done installs in homes where customers were promised everything under the sun upon purchase. When I arrive at the home to begin the walk thru before I begin to install anything, the customer not only doesnt have what they paid for, they sometimes are asked by sales to purchase more equipment to meet there needs. The system is flawed, the sales associates are vampires, the equipment is NOT wireless as promised, the cameras do not record 24 hrs a day, and the company as a whole needs to give everyone there money back.

Constantly offline. For years we used ADT and rarely if ever had any issues. I honestly can't remember any technical problems with their system and I'm pretty sure the only time we dealt with them was if a pet-sitter mis-typed the code.

We moved two states down and decided to save a few bucks and try Digital Life and now we get weekly "system offline" voicemails and texts. I travel for work and it's frightening to wake up to a text in the middle of the night informing me that my home security system has been compromised.

It's a boy who cried wolf situation where I just assume it's yet another technical problem. It's debatable as to whether we'd be better off with no home security piece of mind-wise. I called both ADT and AT&T Digital to inform them I'm making a change back to ADT. I have to pay the penalty, but I guarantee it will be worth it.

Really bad I can't wait till this long 2 years service gone... I returned smoke detector 3 moths ago and I have been call about my refund back and never got it back I only had an email confirmation about the item return. And my wait time is about 45 min. For not solution... I had security system before but for new costumer I went with this crap company don't go with them... Your read review and don't take attention now on I will... Bad experience bad bad.

I had this service for years. Always gave them another chance. That way my biggest mistake. Camera was always off like. Doors sensors always went off line. They can't fix this unless they have a tech come out. Huge waste of time. Scheduling at a time that I do t have to miss work is nearly impossible and in the mean time I have improperly functioning alarm equipment. Talking with customer service is beyond difficult being that they are all located in India. Worst part was trying to cancel. The girl wouldn't just cancel. Continued to try to sell me more or other services. I continued to say I just want to cancel. The call too 28 minutes and in the end she was extremely rude

The tablet supplied with the system doesn't work and when I call them they admit it! They say it's a software problem that they are working on but it's been a year. I can't believe I can't get out of this contract. Has anyone been able to successfully cancel and not owe them anything?

I purchased this system Thanksgiving weekend with the understanding that there was a promotion for a camera to be included. I had the system installed mid-Dec. With my first bill, I was charged two $33.33 installments towards a $100 camera. My second bill had a third $33 charge. Since then, I have had numerous calls with customer service and the store where purchased. I have been given the run around. They are refusing to credit my account for the $100 camera even though all of my paperwork has it clearly shown as $0 due. Now I am on the phone with customer service AGAIN and I think they just hung up on me! I had ADT for 14 years with zero issues. I only changed to AT&T Digital Life FOR THE FREE CAMERA! The system itself works okay except once the alarm went off in the middle of the night because one of the glass breaks had a false reading. That was fun. I would not recommend this system to anyone

After months of attempting to resolve an incompetent service, the service was disconnected from my home without myu knowledge or consent due to a balance on a bill of $65. I had spent well over $2000 in equipment and could not believe that my home was unprotected from fire and theft for over a month. The installation was another fiasco which remains unresolved with cameras hanging off walls and holes left in the walls of my home. Customer service kept me on hold for 44 minutes. STAY AWAY

We did nit get what we signed up for. It's 20.00 a month more than we agreed to. When I realized this on our first bill, I tried to cancel the service and they told me there is a 500.00 early termination fee. Even though I had only had the service for less than amonth. Customer service is terrible. Wait time is ridiculously long. Simple requests, such as a certificate to give to my insurance company, took more than 30 minutes for customer service to access my account and tell me I could access it from the app. You can't. It's a terrible service. Should have stayed with Vivint.

I've read many many bad reviews. I can say for certain I have NOT experienced any issues with my Digital Life service. Speaking with customer service reps have been greeted by polite and professional individuals. My systems works just fine - all parts.

I sing praises to AT&T Digital Life system!

Terrible customer service, the app did not work, kept getting false alarms because the installers did not wire the house property and did not use the latest equipment. Horrible experience. After I cancel the contract due to no service, they charged me with a $500 termination fee. Do not sign on to this!

They can't monitor garage roll up doors. They don't have the capability or equipment to do so. They don't tell you that up front. We discovered it after the 14 day cancelation period and are not stuck paying a HUGE cancellation fee to move to a company to do what we thought we were paying AT&T to do. If you have AT&T, someone can break into your home via your attached garage and rob/harm you and no one will know. It certainly gave me no peace of mind at night when I put my head on my pillow. How can they live with themselves knowing this? How is it legal to conduct business this way? Don't even get me started about the false alarms that do happen for other doors/windows in the home, alarms that don't go off when the system is set to ON, the calls that don't come to check on us, and one time they did call and didn't even ask for the 'safe' word. DO NOT give these corrupt crooks your hard earned money. They only thing they will protect/monitor is their own pockets.

I got digital life when I got a new phone and switched to Direct TV. The guys at the store lied to me about the plan and what was needed, what I would pay for etc. Now I have been trying to get this straightened out for 6 months now. I am locked in and have a cancellation fee of $500 so I can not get out of it.
The thermostat kicks on and off if you make an adjustment and don't switch from one mode to another, so it is a pain. And it is complicated to figure it out. You must use your phone, computer or tablet to run. What if you do not have internet? You can't change it manually...
Don't get it. It's a rip off. They claim you will save money but not with what you are spending on it in the long run.
