“Digital Life is Great, Customer Service is the WORST!”

yolanda w.
8/12/16

I really love the Digital Life equipment, but the customer service is horrible. You can never get a representative on the phone. It takes 60 minutes of listening to the same message over and over. The website is useless. It needs to be revamped. It is only for new customers, no support for existing customers. I'm considering going back to ADT after this contract ends! AT&T doesn't care about existing customers, offer no discounts to add on equipment at all. I'm totally over them!

“Terrible Service- always trying to up sell”

R S.
5/31/22

They have the worst client services. Called months ago to cancel service when the digital app no longer worked and was transferred to brinks for an "equipment upgrade" and would have to sign for 3 yr contract… called again today to cancel and was again transferred. It took >45 minutes to cancel a service that has been nothing but a bill since late last yr. Disgraceful how you can't make a request without them trying to upsell. Waste of time and money

First was told no contract cause it was a special. Was told equipment was mine. So not true. Guys came to hook up were arguing with eachother. Both of them broke my doors one hid it other glued it back looks horrible. One moved my deadbolt where it don't close my door all the way. Had to jimmy it to use it. Now the lock won't take the jamming no more and b lock my kids out. Big bulky system that keeps falling off my wall. Only one time I spoke to a woman named Vivian who was professional and concerned. They rest were horrible. Waist of money and time. They should pull the product and refund us all...

We signed up with Digital Life last May, but have had many problems, since then. First of all, on many occasions, our online payments haven't gone through and then we've been hit with late fees for nonpayment. It's not that the payments have bounced-according to the bank, they've just come back to the bank marked as "returned" despite the fact that our account has plenty of money in it. And Digital Life can't provide us with any explanation at all. As a result, the company terminated our contract and charged us late fees and an early termination fee. Without letting us know. A full month later, we received a bill from ATT with no indication of Digital Life's involvement- just a mobile number. After an hour with ATT's fraud department, we figured out what was going on, but apparently ATT had zero access to any Digital Life information or files other than the information regarding the mysterious mobile number. I do NOT reccomend this service at all.

This was a terrible mistake on our part. Thought we would be getting a great system as we currently have AT&T phones, internet and TV service. What a bad/wrong choice of security systems to pick. The cameras are going offline continuously and they say lets send out another technician to check out the system. They check it out and nothing is wrong at the house. They have to much going on to run the camera systems.

I placed a complaint with the executive office, I spoke to Kendra Champion but she never returned a call. I called several times and was lied to each time about management or the person in charge of the executive response team contacting me and it never happened. So glad I'm not in a contract anymore, will gladly take my business to Comcast. I will never go back to their service as the customer service is horrible and I abhor being lied to.

Tip for consumers:
Digital life customer service and executive office is by far rude, aloof, and lie. I will be leaving, taking my business to Comcast.

I would have never gone with AT&T if I would have read other peoples reviews! I am now one of the people writing a bad review like so many others! Constant billing issues, over charging, paying $200-$300 each month for the first 3 months to cover the equipment costs! $600+ cancellation fee because of the TWO YEAR CONTRACT! Your basically stuck with the system for 2 years or pay the $600 and no security system, awesome catch 22 AT&T! You pay for the equipment and your stuck for 2 years whether you pay to cancel or each month for 2 yrs! They get their $$$ either way! Horrible customer service and hidden charges! Run AWAY! Sincerely- Stuck Customer

I talked to att to set up account. 3 weeks later, when tech Gomes out, everything is wrong, the stuff in box is wrong. I wasted 20 hours on phone and was basically told I was stupid by a digital life rep. I then said I had no service, never signed, after 3 weeks and 20 hours on phone, I didn't want their service. They told me I had to pay etf. To heck I do. Worst experience ever and never even got anything installed. I called a different company, they came out next day and it's been great. I cut att phones, cable and security. They're too big for their own good and the reps don't give a dang about their customers. I now eith companies who have great service and care about customers.

We were sold a Digital Life package when we upgraded our phones, iPad and wireless services. Were told the home owner's insurance savings would pay for the service... no reduction with the system. The bundle package will only be $9.95 per month... no, it is $49.95 per month, the camera is $9.95 per month. Mislead by implying the $9.95 was the only charge. Called to cancel and was told it would be almost $500 to cancel... today received a bill for $716.71. And by the way the Digital Life web site has issues as well. Don't walk... RUN!

Do not get this service it is horrible. You will be miserable if you do. Everything is broken it is the worst program I have ever seen. They don't stand behind their product they can't even fix their own product. They charge for everything. You have to provide the service they. Won't send anyone out to try and fix it unless you pay over 100 dollars.

When we were sold our DL system, it was said to us that after 2 years we can cancel the monitoring service, but continue to use the alarm system. Meaning we would be able to activate the alarm, but we would not be getting any police called if the house was breached. After my wife cancelled the "smart security" for $39.99 the alarm stoped working all together. Once we called, and spent 40 minutes on the phone we were told that we had to pay $54.99 per month for the life of the system in order for it to work. Wow! Really!? That's $660 a year for an alarm system. Over 6 thousand dollars for 10 years? That's not what we were told when buying this system. What a rip off! Now we have a completely useless alarm system in our home. I would never recommend att for anything. It's a money grab, and an expensive one at that. We pod over $300 up front. Shame on us for not checking the competition, but shame on ATT for being such poorly managed company.

I was offered the smart security plan plus automation and when the technician arrived to install the equipment, of course there were some items missing... I have been on the phone with AT&T Billing Department to discuss why I received my first month's bill for a total of $925.00! They will not budge even though I have the agreement in writing as discussed with the customer service representative when I signed up for the plan for $54.99 per month! So no matter what you hear about the system being so great, the service you will get once you sign up will not be even close to good. I have even tried to call the store and discuss this issue and my calls have gone unreturned. I have never been so disappointed with a company and the staff until I attempted to try AT&T!

This "Company" is without a doubt scamming everyone - including AT&T.
We're I a Lawyer I would file a class action law suit against Digital Life (aka Digital Death). I would work pro bono until I drove them from the market place.
They offer low tech cheap products which do not work for long. Zero "Customer Service". No follow up. Always rude.
And unless you are a lawyer DO NOT sign any agreement with them.
This low life group should be considered as United States Customer Terrorists.
AT&T was duped by these thieves.

At & T digital life I should've went with Adt. So had system installed on 09/27/2016 I was told items in my package and declined to accept the key pad on my door so I was told by tech I could sub it for smoke sensor and additional items I clearly said to him that as long as it doesn't cost me any additional money it would be fine. He told me no additional money only for me to receive a bill for 215.00 past due my first bill and now they are telling me that I need to pay It Stay away these people its a scam

I had AT&T wireless for 18 years and switched to Verizon a month ago. I currently have Digital Life and have for the past six years and now have an appointment with ADT security. The customer service for AT&T services have prompted me to look at competitors. I liked having everything with one company but their actions have proved to me that they do not care about customer loyalty or customer retention.
AT&T agents will tell you what you want to hear over the phone but when it comes to action then all of a sudden they cannot do what you were told. I understand that taking my business will not hurt a large corporation but hope this will at least give a new customer something to think about before going with AT&T.

My husband is diagnosed with Alzheimer's and I've taken care of him for six years, and now have to put him in a nursing home. The nursing home care is very expensive. I'm trying to cut back on bills. I called AT&T, and without any problems, and exemplary service with the DIRECTV customer service, I had my DIRECTV disconnected. I attempted to have my House alarm through digital life disconnected and was outsourced to some foreign person that was rude and very not understanding. This is a very difficult time for me, and she wanted my husband to tell her his name and the last four numbers of his Social Security number! This man has had Alzheimer's for six years, and I told the woman this. Of course, he could not tell her what she needed to know. He is barely able to speak. She was completely insensitive. If this is an example of AT&T's caring for their customers, I hope that people walk away from AT&T. Shame on you for outsourcing to people who don't care

If you are as pissed off as I am at Digital Life, then you might want to consider reaching out to Mr. Kevin Petersen. Keven is Digital Life's CEO. More than likely, he receives a very fat salary and warms a chair. Keven can be reached at:
*******055
Why don't you call Keven and share with him your thoughts as to what a great company he is working for and what a terrific product Digital Life is. I'm sure he's love to hear from you.

I wish I would have read the reviews before signing a contract with this company. Every review I have read is true. After 3 months of service I am very frustrated with the horrible customer service, the faulty equipment, and poor installation. My security camera has fell twice, and the only option given was for me to pay $99 for a technician to come and fix their own mistake! So I reinstalled it myself to avoid the fees. I was told that my equipment fee was waived due to a promotion that AT&T was having when I signed up. That was a complete lie, my bill was supposed to be $64.99 and I am now paying $99 due to equipment charges! My door sensors were faulty and did not chime when my doors opened. I am beyond pissed and regret ever signing up with these scammers.

My system stopped working June 22. Couldn't get a technician out until JULY 19th. But... had to pay my bill ON TIME. Couldn't get out of the contract without it costing $200+.
If someone breaks in... no one would know.
I am truly disappointed and locked into a non-working alarm system.

There has been nothing but problems with digital life. I called them with my issues and it was stated that if they found my additional orders were part of the original order they would resolve my issues. Then when they researched and found that it had been part of order they still refused to take care of my issues and the service has been terrible as well. I hate my digital life

Not only does the equipment not work properly, they falsely advertise promotions. We received a touchscreen control in January 2016 and it has never worked. When I called technical support they said they didn't know when it would be working. Then I was supposed to get an AT&T rewards card for signing up and they couldn't find it in the system so I was not sent my $200. Go with ADT! Less headache, more responsible workers and equipment that won't let you down.

First bill came today. The amount is $127.00 is supposed to be $54.97 with a possible year long $20 installment fee for the "included equipment"? So I'm waiting to see what all these extra charges are.
As far as equipment goes, is not the most up to date, very bulky compared to my old system. Install guy was very professional and did a good job. Am waiting to see what my bill will be next month. If it's $127 again my next call will be to the Attorney General's Office to file a complaint against ATT. Still on hold 30 min...
WOW wish I would've did my review research before signing. Was out of contract on my last system wish I would've kept it now. Thought this system stating $25 cheaper a month would be better. I was wrong, still on hold 33 min now. This is my first time calling ever Wtf

Worst company ever to deal with. Made a disaster of the install at my house. Wires everywhere. I have 1 plug on my laundry room to plug my washer and dryer into... they took one for the alarm system... what did they think I was going to do? Only use the washer OR the dryer?! Wtf! And I called them immediately to take the pos system out... and they sent me a freaking bill for monitoring for a month! And do not expect anyone to answer the phones or return you call!

I called about my battery which died... they advised me to take it apart, take the battery out and put it back in... they confirmed the battery did not work and have someone out... no show... then I was traveling, cameras did not work, low signal strength...
I just called to cancel and was in que for over 45 minutes... the girl answering said she would give me one month free for the inconvenience, then it was 2 months... then she advised it was going to be 399 cancelation fee... plus I had to buy all the crap on the front end... att has been my phone carrier for years and this is the poorest service I have ever received. Cant imagine if my house caught on fire... the alarm would go into a que for 45 minutes... I am going with ADT

They are true liars and evil customer service. Don't think I want to spoil their reputation. It is actually my nightmare. They really can't help in an emergency and customer service representatives are simply evil. They talk shut you down and you can't expect a good service them. Don't loose money, they can't protect you at all.

My husband had the system put in not more than a month ago. We should have been tipped off that the company was a waste when the tech told us he had driven to our home on the west coast of FL from MIAMI to do the installing! Well, the system is now not working correctly with showing a LOW battery and customer service is lacking any kind of SERVICE! We were told someone would be at the house between 4 and 7. Needless to say, no tech AND no phone call! When we called to complain about it, the service rep hung up on my husband! I guess the saying Buyer Beware applies here! We will try to cancel our service as soon as we can connect with the customer service department. Who KNOWS when that will be?

I purchased this service in Sept 2015, here are my complaints:
1. Installer was in my home all day ~ and he wasn't a happy person to be around. I didn't realize until he left the damage he did to my hardwood floors and walls
2. Was promised a $50 referral fee and I had to practically beg for it
3. Asked ATT for a replacement sensor because one fell off my front door (shortly after the install) they sent me one and then charged me $48 for it
4. Don't bother trying to call unless you have 30 minutes to be placed on hold then be talked down too from the staff
There are several other services that I will consider once I get out of my 2 year contract
****** crabby installer and disrespectful customer service reps******
DONT DO IT!
