“Digital Life is Great, Customer Service is the WORST!”

I really love the Digital Life equipment, but the customer service is horrible. You can never get a representative on the phone. It takes 60 minutes of listening to the same message over and over. The website is useless. It needs to be revamped. It is only for new customers, no support for existing customers. I'm considering going back to ADT after this contract ends! AT&T doesn't care about existing customers, offer no discounts to add on equipment at all. I'm totally over them!

They have the worst client services. Called months ago to cancel service when the digital app no longer worked and was transferred to brinks for an "equipment upgrade" and would have to sign for 3 yr contract… called again today to cancel and was again transferred. It took >45 minutes to cancel a service that has been nothing but a bill since late last yr. Disgraceful how you can't make a request without them trying to upsell. Waste of time and money

We have had problem from installation to cancellation. Finally our 2 year contract was over, it was a pain trying to cancel the service. IT took the installer 2 full days to install our system, i had stay home while they did the installation. It wasn't working the first week after the install, so i had to call their tech support several times. I was promised a color touch screen pad but was given a monochrome style touch pad. The pad starting flicking about a year ago, but guess what, you need to pay for the new touch pad. I paid $45 a month for the most basic service to get a peace of mind. I got upset everytime i called their support. I called in Nov to cancel my account but got a new bill 2 days ago. I called them again, and they said I didn't properly cancel the service so I had to pay for another month.

Stay away if you don't want to waste anytime with their support people.

Well we bought it in May, and after FOUR different technicians came out, one broke our router, and 3 no shows when we stayed home from work, it was installed,, the quality of the system is AWFUL.
Plus they said we would not have to pay until the system was operational, and we keep getting bills and threatening to discontinue our service.,
We have called and begged for some type of help. They all say they cant help us because of Digitalife "Policy"
There are much better home security systems, and i would avoid using these guys at all costs

I had another fine security service, and I changed to AT&T in error. When I signed up with AT&T they did not obtain a permit with my city, so they informed me that if my alarm sounded and the police had to be dispatched I would be charged. I do not feel that is right as I was not informed of that fact prior to signing up for the services. I do not feel protected, and I cannot wait until my contract expires.

HORRIBLE! We installed Digital Life due to problems with packages being stolen. The first time one is taken, I try to look at the video. The installer didn't turn it on - no video and it is MY FAULT. I paid for a service for two years and when I actually wanted to use it, I couldn't. The only thing they could say was you should review your account. They have no problem taking my money, but can't do anything else. I have stuck up for AT&T DIgital Life for two years, put off other companies try to get my business and this is what I get? I will purchase my own equipment and go with a

We were deceived into believing we were getting their product and services at $29.99 a month and we did not know they installed the higher priced system at $39.99 a month until we received their bill! We called customer service and they told us that there was no way we can change to the lower service. They said if we cancel their services it will cost us over $600 early cancellation fees. We are seniors and on a limited income and can not afford this amount each month! WARNING! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! If there is anyone that can refer an attorney please help us!

Many problems experienced in 3 months since installation: poor installtion, unqualified technicians, low quality sensors, frequent system wide problems, often afrer a system software upgrade, long waiting time for support calls, unstable software causing frequent controller failure, customers are not notfied when there are system wide problems, u are locked out of your system when there is a system wide problem, expensive add ons, controller unable to keep up with the traffic.

This is good system or not we didn't know yet because I have to cancel after installed 2 days. First problem I have that is ATT retail store lie to us about promotion through where my work, second ATT digital life lie about 30 days trail free, We're told that but when we call them to cancel and uninstall they will charge you $99 for restocking fee, that is none sense because if you not install how do you try out the system? Now I lost $150 for not thing, oh I do got couple hole on my wall. Thanks to ATT and never trust you again.

Cancelled January 2017 and they are still taking money out of my bank. My bank states they cant stop the payments and I have to go onto the website. DigitalLife closed my access to the website because I cancelled. We called and they say they will stop taking it out. Its been 11 months now and they are still taking out the monthly payment even though we have been with a different company for 11 months now. Every month we call and complain. Every month we get the same results. We are being held hostage. Are there any class action lawsuits out there?

Please do NOT sign up for this service! I signed up for att digital life back in January of 2016, and moved shortly after. I called to schedule a time for my service to be transferred. They never showed up for the new install. I rescheduled the install on multiple occasions with the same frustration. I finally cancelled the service in march of 2017, because I had been paying monthly for a system that hadn't been installed. Every time I called to get the matter straight I was told that their computer system showed that it had been installed(which it had not). They finally sent my account to collections and told me that I had to pay $287.62 to cancel the services which I never received. The customer service is terrible and they will go out of their way to extort money from you! I would urge everyone that reads this to avoid this company. And if anyone from ATT management reads this... I will also be canceling my phone service after 15 yrs because of this. Shame on your company

I had my system installed June 18th and it is still not working. I have had numerous technicians out and no one has been able to fix the problem. I had ADT before and wish I had NEVER switched. I have a 2 story house and they didn't even hook up the upstairs. Now they are saying since the Digital Life installer cut the wires that ADT had installed there is nothing they can do because he ruined the connectivity. I have pleaded with Customer Service to have a Manager contact me and they refuse saying they are way too busy.

I have been ATT wireless for 5 years. So decided to shift from ADT to ATT digitial life. It offer nothing. Video Camera Power over Ethernet never worked, I cannot control or monitor my heating thermostat. I was better off with ADT.

I called within 14 days of trial period to cancel the service, I was told technician will come to fix it (or) cancel it. But their technician changed appointment date. Now I am out of 14 days trail period and stuck with their Digitial Life. Service.

I am not filing complaint against ATT with FCC for false marketing
And fleecing of consumer under their contract cancellation terms.

I just want to change my review rating from a 2 to a 10 now that I have recieved my new unit and have talked to several ppl over the phone with their company. I had a lady call me personally to try and fix any problems that I went thru and they even credited my bill for the time I was down! They really went above and beyond to get any problem resolved so far! We are still working and trying new things with the cellular serv because I am no getting a good reception inside my home. But ATT Digital Life is a fine company to deal with! I am staying with them as long as I'm alive because they are cheaper and better than any other provider that I have talked with and tried to deal with! So yes thank you ATT Digital Life for your help and I appologize for jumping the gun and not getting ahold of the right ppl to deal with! You have made me again a proud and happy customer!

They hit me with a $200 new charge on my bill in addition to monthly fee that I never agreed to. I have called them 20 times with long hold times HOURS and HOURS and it is still unresolved! I am fed up with their customer service!

I love AT&T Digital Life sometimes there are glitches in the system but once I call and explain things to them I get my issue resolved. Some of these comments are not true if you call a company why will you behave harsh with the reps deal with them calm and they will treat you nice. Hold time is length but we got to understand that customers do call in regular for various reasons. I love the fact that I don't have to pay to move my service and I get new device unlike ADT who charge over 300 dollars to move. And I would like if AT&T change there technicians they don't work for the company they work against the company they are so sloppy they make the Comany look bad. I love AT&T Retention and move, and the Technical support dept. Good job.

This complaint is the worst I have deal with. KThey tell you sodmething different every time you call. This time I talked with someone in Jamaica. The last call to cancel they did not tell me that i still have one more year on the contract and this time she wants over 350 dollars to cancel. I have not gotten a straight answer at a phone call and have called at least 6 times. I tried to call corp office and they just repeat the last person said. One year now after paying monthly on something I do not have they are telling me something else.

I only had it for 3 months and had to cancel. System did not work properly from the beggining but i was told it was due to a new system update that was taking place. I hung in there, but after several times that i would try to set my alarm and not being able to or open the front door for someone and the app not working, the camera being unavailable, etc. and not to mention the horrible incompetent customer service ( i even spoke to a manager) i decided to cancel had to pay $435 as an early termination fee, but trust me it was well worth it. Now i have a system (monitor, cameras, front door lock, thermostat) and even though i own it now i cannot do anything with it as it will not work if its not being monitored. Bottom line... getting this system was a huge mistake. Iam now with Vivit and i love it!

I purchased the home automation and security package from AT&T after a recent break-in. I got all the bells and whistles and wanted and wanted an itemized bill so I could see exactly what I purchased, I agree to a price and made a few small changes day of based on what worked in my home. I wanted to see a final bill and they couldn't provide it to me. It turns out that some of the swapping that was done wasn't honored and they charged me than expected. At Nearly $1000, you should be able to provide details on what was agreed to and details on a bill. Now I just get random bills with no details. I think AT&T needs to work on their billing practices before I would recommend this service to anyone.

Also, the video cameras are either super sensitive to light or really small movements all the way on the street even after setting the motion sensor range. If you reduce the sensitivity, they don't record the videos at all. I was getting tons of notifications each day until I turned it off.

Unfortunately today my alarm went off & they called us & left a message. I called back & was trying to cancel the alarm but unfortunately I couldn't remember my password when they asked me. I was looking through my phone while talking to them that my alarm was disarmed. Then I told them I think everything is okay and the lady says ok ma'am. Not knowing that the dispatch was still on. After more than an hour a police officer came & give us false alarm notice! Easy money $100 penalty! I was very disappointed because they did not mentioned that they are sending a dispatch!
Take note when you are calling the customer service you have to ASK THEM TO CANCEL THE DISPATCHER, they will not mention it!
I've been with att for a decade! Too loyal for the fact that I have to switch my 5 yr alarm system company to this unreliable att alarm system!
REGRET IT MUCH!

Had AT&T DigitalLife for three years. Service was ok. If you had a problem it was almost impossible to get an on site repair. AT&T wants you to repair the system while they attempt to walk you through it. That never works. Now the clincher to really hat AT&T DigitalLife is my contract states that moving my equipment would be FREE. I have the contract. Now AT&T changes the rules and its $840 to move the equipment no matter what I have in writing or no matter who I speak to. When you call AT&T DigitalLife customer service you get a person who can barely speak English. 6 hours on the phone today transferred and disconnected several times was to no avail. Stay away from AT&T DigitalLife. STAY AWAY!

I recently called to have them fix my outdoor camera that wasn't recording properly and my spart plug that was not turning on. Of course, the usual attempt was made to fix the issues by phone were made to no avail. This was also done a month ago and was not fixed. I asked that they come out on a Tuesday which is the only day that I would be available to wait around the house for their 4 hours which I was told was their normal time frame to arrive at your house. I called on the 13th of July and was told that the next available appointment would be August 15th. Not sure what most people would consider unacceptable but waiting for over a month to fix a problem is definitely not in my realm of "acceptable"... Unfortunately, I'll need to wait another year before I can change providers.

The only thing I can say is if I had the hindsight to go back 3 months I would have ran out of the AT&T Store instead of agreeing to have this worthless expensive equipment and service placed in our home. If I had the additional funds, I would have this crap pulled out of my home right now. I had the opportunity to not have it installed and the CSR convinced us to stay and also stated she would provide a monthly credit and of course they lied. No credit just larger bills. Stay away from this service, do not agree to it, JUST RUN! If I could give this service a zero, I would.

First of all the damn thing was always down. Usually went offline at night when you really need it most. The cameras never work because of "insufficient bandwidth" which is BS because we have 100/300 mbps TWC and normally use only two other applications 1 WiFi and 1 direct connect HDMI to my desktop computer. It was completely down for 2 months and when I called to cancel I got double screwed. I had to pay for the 2 months + plus the balance of the contract ($500 +). What a piece of $#*!. I have been totally disappointed in every AT&T service I have used other than Wireless Telephone (well c'mon its a Telephone company) and DirecTV which I had no choice in since they acquired it. I have been waiting for it to blow up ever since. Run, don't walk, and never look back from anything AT&T.

Tried to disconnect my Digital Life service today April 23,2018 to be told it would be disconnected on May 15th the end of the billing cycle. WHY? I want it disconnected now. I dont feel I should be paying for something until May 15th because of AT&T's system. BS. I am in the process of TRYING to contact corporate. Like I said "TRYING". I used to be proud to say I was a retiree from ATT&T now I cant believe how they have gone to be a big corporate greedy company and think nothing of their customers or former employees. SAD

CONTRACTS WITH COMPANIES THAT OFFER AWFUL SERVICE SHOULD ALLOW US OUT. FIRST OF ALL IF YOUR SERVICE IS SO GREAT THEN WHY DO YOU HAVE TO HOLD PPL HOSTAGE FOR TWO YEARS? WHY? LET ME GO AND OTHER CLIENTS.
