I am soo pleased with the job that Ben and his helper Bob have done! He is polite, courteous and conscientious! He has worked efficiently and effectively in digging and planting new borders for me! I love my garden more than ever. Great price. Great service and a lovely person too. Would not hesitate to recommend him... next year I want him to return to re turf the front lawn. Thanks Ben!
I posted an ad on MyBuilder then selected a roofer to install some Velux windows in my house, based on them having decent reviews. Roofer stated he needed a down payment to purchase the windows, which seemed reasonable as it was approx £2000 worth. Roofer has now done a runner and it's only too late that I've looked into what MyBuilder claims is a verified review process: there's absolutely no verification required and anybody can claim to have hired a contractor simply to put reviews on there. Cost me £2000 to find that out
Great job at a really good price would certainly use the site again to find a builder/workman, only had a area concreted for a shed base but they were really conscientious and professional
I was introduced to 3 flooring experts who would all have done an excellent job. I chose a reliable and honest trader Andy Greenway who fixed my floor to an exacting standard. Thanks
I've used it several times and have usually found the tradesmen reliable apart for one time when I had an issue with the work done and was uable to contact the guy..
I had a disaster with a solid concrete base from a firm used, the base was not fit for use. I advertised on this site and tradesmen came out to quote. My husband liked this builder and during the other quotes he came back and bullied my husband into taking him on to correct the work. He had 1500 of us, he brought a firm that properly pumped wet cement over the shoddy base. 900 of that was for them the
Rest for him for proper planking around the side. He came with 2 prices of Plank? 600 for that? After the work was done he conned my husband into doing decking over the solid base? This was to hold a summerhouse. I was at work and I was questioning this, this cost 1500, I never received one receipt only stupid emails as an invoice. He then took another 845 to make the decking bigger! 120 for a useless armoured cable that he just plonked under the crap grass sods he had purchased. Another 220 for a skip that never showed and has never paid for the por taloo still in my front garden?
William Moreton of WD improvements absolute joker no receipts or anything do not want to even give any stars
Tip for consumers:
Just trust your instinct
I've just started using my builder as tradesmen and the system as far as I can see it is flawed, it works on the basis of shortlisting the engineers (in my case) to use an example 5 engineers bid for a job to install a boiler, If you're shortlisted you are charged £20-00 + vat but? This is the catch, the customer in this instance didn't know how the system worked and just shortlists everyone even though 4 of those engineers won't get the job and they will all be charged the figure mentioned above.
Now to examine the definition of a shortlist, how can the same amount of people shortlisted be the same as the amount of people who have applied for the job? Doesn't that contradict the term shortlisted as it means less than the original, but you give the client opportunity to select everyone, when in reality the client should only be given the chance to choose a percentage of applicants.
If you went for a job interview and you were shortlisted it doesn't mean the other 100 applicants got through? Does it!
At the moment you're are running an unbalanced system and you're getting away with it, which is why I personally will take this up with trading standards.
Only got one person from this site but was happy with the quote and quality of work so all good for me on this occasion I lost the job clearly so he knew what I wanted and he had the necessary skills
Two very conscientious joiners did a wonderful job in assembling our summer house. Thorough and meticulous in their work they completed the job in a day.
Great job done on the next day of contact for a 90 yr lady. Caring and kept distancing all the time he was there. Lady was very happy with both job and kindness given thankyou
Dealing with Suad Kadria of SS Building Services on the repointing of my house has been a good experience. Suad is efficient and friendly and I certainly look forward to working with him again in the future.

The site is easy to use. Once posted I received responses to my ad very quickly. Most importantly I had a quality tradesman do my job. Would definitely recommend My Builder
This site is excellent its easy to use and very informative. You get peace of mind by reading actual customer reviews and obtaining quotes for work is easy and more comfortable.
Once I had placed my problem on My Builder with in 10 minutes I had 5 phone calls arranging appointments to view the problem however one builder Ben came around the very same day and after discussing what it entailed and the cost the was done
I got in touch with someone through MyBuilder who had no intention of appointing my services. When I touched base with her soon after being shortlisted (next working day) I was told that her husband had already appointed someone the night before (appointed, not just shortlisted). I had no opportunity to even quote for the project or meet with the clients but had to pay a £20 shortlist fee. MyBuilder said in their terms and conditions that you can dispute a shortlist fee but the customer must have messaged you through MyBuilder at the same time they shortlisted you to qualify. I had asked the lady to message me so that I could get my money back for the shortlist fee, which she did. But MyBuilder said she had to have sent the message WITHIN 10 MINUTES of being shortlisted for a refund. Nothing about that 10 minute deadline in their terms and conditions. They argued with me continuously so much that it must have cost them more to argue it out than it would have done just to refund the money. I am not happy about their customer service and I never did get my money back.
Ive used My Builder to find tradesmen for quite a few jobs over the years. Is very easy to use, the tradesmen have all been well recommended, polite and all done a good job.
