I used MyFax to send several faxes on the day that I joined, and they all went through without any problems. My situation changed, and I no longer had a need to send faxes. I contacted MyFax via email, and they ended my trial subscription. While my credit card was charged, they immediately reversed the charge when I asked and followed-up personally to provide evidence that it was reversed. I know other reviewers said they had problems with this, but I did not, and I appreciate MyFax addressing the issue promptly.
I signed up for a free trial, expecting not to be charged beyond the trial period. However, my card was charged on both May 18th and June 18th, even though the trial should have ended on May 18th. I received no billing notifications or receipts until a failed attempt on my card alerted me to the charges. When I contacted the company, they refused to issue a refund, despite my clear explanation that I had not used the service beyond the free trial. I also found it very hard to locate any transaction history on their website, which seems intentional. I've done business with them before, but I won't be doing it ever again. I will also be reporting this issue to the BBB. Save yourself the hassle—based on other reviews, canceling the account involves a lot of trouble, and it's clear this company relies on customers' mistakes.
I initially sent in an email to cancel, and they responded within 2 days letting me know that they don't cancel accounts via email and that I had to call. In the email they told me to dial star when the IVR requests for a fax number. Did so, and was sent over to a representative.
He asked me for my fax number, name, call back number, and to verify my account with last 4 digits of the credit card on file.
He told me my fax archive would be deleted when the account is cancelled, offered me a lower rate, and a free trial to one of their other services. Which I declined.
I was given a cancellation number and that's it. I'm not sure what everyone is going through, but check your emails if you're emailing to cancelling.

Dial star when the automated system is asking for your fax number. This transferred me to a representative
They don't let you cancel a trial without talking to them on phone or in chat. They will not take no for an answer and makes it very difficult to cancel. That said the product works but price is too high for low use
Can't comment on their service because I sent just 1 fax which the recipient claimed he never received. This was during their free 1 month trial. They charged me a dollar for that, since you're supposed to save your credit card details with them. I thought that was fair enough since nothing seems to be free nowadays. A month went by and I forgot about them. Next thing I know I've been billed 10 dollars without a reminder that my trial had ended. I cancelled my account immediately and then requested a refund, but they didn't care. As I had cancelled immediately, I didn't even get to use that 1 month. In short, paid 11 dollars for 1 fax!
Poor customer service, not easy to cancel.

Even supervisor Rachel was clueless on how to do her job.

As many others have said, this company charges your credit card without any notification. Like others, my credit card was charged for three months after the so-called free trial. When I finally was notified about the charge, $30 and three months later, they refused a refund but said they would convert these monthly charges to a yearly plan. I reluctantly agreed. I used the service to send a few faxes, then not at all for many months. I just found out they charged me an annual renewal fee– again, after the fact, no prior notice of the impending charge. I called to cancel the service and have the charges reversed, but they claim it was in the contract (of course, you never actually see this contract) that the renewal fee would be charged in December, rather than January when the plan started, so no refund, even if I cancelled the service. They are unethical and disgusting.
Buyer beware! Read the fine print, they will charge you crazy prices during your "free trial" if your fax takes a long time to send. This is absurd and likely outright fraud. You have to literally hope your fax sends quickly otherwise you will be charged extra. DO NOT USE!

I closed my business and sent an email to cancel account and terminate auto renewal. Several months later a $200.00 auto renewal hit my card. Upon complaint and demanding a refund they advised that they don't accept cancellations without a phone call (though sign up was totally via electronic). They have denied me a refund even though they admitted they received my cancellation and non-renewal. They never gave me definitive rejection until the time had lapsed for me to make a challenge on my credit card bill. Highly deceitful practice.
I signed up for a free trial with this company. They did not manage to send one fax successfully, and when I asked them to cancel my subscription they refused. I contacted my bank to stop the debits, and they threatened to collect by "debt" using a Collection Agency.
If there is any regulatory body in USA concerning this type of company, they should be banned from trading immediately. They are a shocking, despicable company.
They charged me 30$ even though they could not send my fax in any of the 5 attempts within the free trial period. Later I sent the fax with another provider. I cancelled the service within 5th day. I am not satisfied about the service. I will not recommend anyone to take their service.
I wish there was a Zero star option to give rather 1 star.

I signed up before I realized that I didnt need a fax machine. UNDER the free trial for a month. Thank God I didnt actually send any faxes. I immediately looked for the cancellation button.. guess what? It doesn't exist. NOPE.. you have to call them.. when you do it takes a good 10 minutes to get someone on the phone. Once I finally got someone you could BARELY hear them because there were people screaming and yelling in the background. I tell her I want to cancel and here come all the questions and special offers.. and then you sit and wait for another 10 minutes and finally it gets cancelled. I can tell you right now.. I have already blocked them from billing my credit card because I have zero faith that they actually cancel your account. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Absolutely horrible customer service with extraneous charges. I sent 41 pages (my plan allows 50 per month). I got charged for 145 because they don't actually charge per "page" they charge per 60 second increments. Very difficult to get my account closed and get my refund since I paid a year in advance. I do NOT recommend myfax.com
Somehow they got all my personal data, very scary. I am reporting them to the proper authorities. They charged me for an account I never used and they refused to provide me a refund. This company is fraudulent, I dont know how they are still open. Please dont trust them with any of your information.
When you give this company your credit/debit card number, they gain a measure of control over your bank account. They can go in and deduct disputed fees from your account and you'll have to close your account to get rid of them. Even if you cancel your card, they can put thru a forced debit. I was charged $87 so far on a $5 plan for wrong-number, computer-generated faxes that were sent to my account. They credited me $50, but the $37 differential was withdrawn from my account. I don't know if there will be additional charges or additional faxes from this wrong number. Do not sign up for this service. You have no control over wrong-number or errant faxes and they charge 25 cents a page for over-the-limit pages. They don't shut down your account when you reach your limit. Someone sent 395 pages to my account in 3 separate faxes -- an account that has never even used 25 pages in one month -- 2 of the faxes were 193-page duplicates. It's not worth it.
I had many problems at first. They apologized and begged me to take down the review and I did to try to give them a second chance. However soon after I attempt to log into my account and they say it was "suspended". I contacted them and they demanded a photograph of my credit card. Never heard of such a thing. They said because I was not using an "American credit card". This is such a USA approach - unable to think of anything beyond their borders but eager to accept any and all $$ ASAP (provided it is "an American credit card"
I just discovered that MyFax has been charging me for a fax number I did not know about for the past 7 years. I have one MyFax line so when my wife saw a MyFax charge she thought all was okay. We do not audit our CC bill that carefully. One day she saw that there were 2 charges and so I looked into it and discovered the additional line I knew nothing about. The MyFax service rep acknowledged that the line had never been used, but claimed that MyFax emailed invoices to me. This was an outright lie! Now I found out that many others are having billing issues with this company. I filed an Attorney General complaint and urge you others to do so too.
Signed up for the trial, tried to cancel half way thru and they replied two weeks later saying that I had to call in to cancel because of some verification BS! Eventually just cancelled my card to avoid future deductions after they refused to cancel via email
It says 14 free trial. It says 8 or 9 dollars a month!? Wrong! They don't tell you that it'll be annual charges of $100.00 USD! They will just charge your card without permission the moment you create the profile. Any attempt to cancel will not work. In the emails it says annual accounts cant be cancelled on the website. If you tell them you've cancelled the card and reported the fraud to the bank, they'll just block your access to login and you'll start getting emails saying how to cancel and detailing how annual accounts cannot cancel. I'm still waiting for my bank to investigate the website to see the scam and credit the $100 back to me. I'm waiting on a new card. Stay away from this SCAM!

This is a terrible company that likes to just charge your card.
1. You have no option to cancel your plan. You must call or email.
2. They will bill you without emailing you an invoice.
3. The only option is to upgrade to a higher plan.
Basically once you sign up and give your credit card information they will charge your card for their *free trial* then you have no way to manually cancel your plan or close your account without contacting their support. If you forget about this they will keep charging your card monthly without ever sending you an email invoice.
If they do not reply to my support request soon (been 7 days) I will be contacting my back and stating that these are unwarranted charges since I am being charged with no way of cancellation.
Tip for consumers:
Do your self a favor and either never use these guys, or go get yourself one of those prepaid $10 cards so that they will be unable to charge it more then once.
Please don't use them if you only need to send a single fax. They will not let you cancel during the trial period without an actual phone call to Canada. So if you forget, like I did (face slap) you're charged a service fee for the privilege of having sent a single fax.

Before I realized it, they charged me over $700 in the first six weeks- I faxed about 130 pages. Their explanation was that I was stupid that I didn't understand their pricing model. I also learned- and they never told me this- that they charged me for additional pages if the fax takes longer to send. They took advantage of their pretend introductory offer - since I don't always check my checking account each month. Unethical, dirty, corrupt company.

It is clearly expressed in our terms of service under "service usage" that all sent faxes are billed by page or duration whichever is greater. Most fax pages take less than 60 seconds to transmit when scanned in the recommended format of black and white at 200 DPI (DOTS PER INCH). We never recommend to scan in color or gray-scale as all faxes are sent in B&W only and this will dramatically increase duration time and risk line interruption. Suddenly there is no service. No email for resetting password, no faxes sent or received, and nearly an hour waiting. Of course I was always the next person in the queue. Reading the reviews just now and worried about potential difficulty in cancelling.
Charged for 600 pages of "try's" for@ 35 pages of successful sends. (And as I was only faxing documents to one number, it was not an issue of my providing an incorrect number). Of all the unsuccessful send notifications I have - they do not add up to 600 pages. No way to 'audit' how they are adding up and see what they are charging for. Every time you go over the 100 page limit included in the $10, they charge another $10, etc. Additionally, very difficult to cancel account. Hard to log in, & they provide inconsistent service. STAY AWAY
I have nothing but thankfulness towards MyFax. They are a great tool I used for two months. I gladly paid for their assistance. I had no issues with them.
When I wanted to cancel, I just called and terminated my account easily, no hassle and no pressure.
I will buy from them again if I ever need a fax service in the future.
They make it entirely misleading and difficult to cancel your account. Provide so many barriers to make this simple procedure, but are perfectly happy to take your money regardless if service is rendered or not. Clearly looking to gouge.
