“Worst of the worst, trash and biggest scammers”

I just won't recommend them to no one! My monthly payment is $28 but I get charge $40 for late payment. When you are ready to make a payment they are unreachable. And they also keep blowing your phone... it actually a true nightmare with the credit care synchrony bank.

This lender has lowered my credit on two occasions. I had finally gotten my credit up to good standing after going through a divorce where my ex-wife ruined my credit. I got remarried and lost some weight and went into a Belk's to get some celebratory new clothes. They asked us if we would like a card to establish better credit and we agreed. Initially, they gave me a credit line of $800.00. We spent $300 that day and got some new clothes. When I got home, I set up the account and automatic payment. For a few months, I made payments on the account and brought the balance back down to $550. Then I got a letter from Synchrony Bank stating they lowered my credit line to $550. Then, because of what they did to me, my credit dropped 40 points into needs work. I had never missed a payment, on this card or any of my credit accounts. I called Synchrony Bank and they did nothing. I also called the credit reporting agencies and though the agent was validating, they could do nothing. It took several months to get some of my credit points back. Then, this morning, they lowered my line again to just over the balance I had paid down, to $466.00. I am going to pay off this card and never use it again or shop at Belk's ever. Do not apply for a Belk card because Synchrony Bank is a predatory bank that messes with people's lives through credit. Buyer beware.

I haven't had any problems with them until they just up and closed my account after one year of inactivity. I have several synchrony accounts but this particular one that they closed was a furniture account, now who buys furniture every single year? I had a 4000 dollar credit limit, now my credit score is going to take a hard hit because they just up and closed it with no warning, had I gotten a warning I would have went and made small purchase to save my account. This just shows they care nothing about a valued customer, I always paid on time and didn't miss any payments, and when I did fall into a little financial situation I called them and made arrangements! All I ask is just give people WARNINGS, before you just up and close an account!

I received an 18 month interest free loan. Never received any paperwork in the mail to let me know when my payment was due. Tried to get onto their website to log in but couldn't due that because I didn't have an account number so I have no way to pay. Then after my payment was late they sent me a text message. With a way to pay of course I tried to call costumer service and the wait time is over an hour long.
I would recommend not going with this bank if at all possible!

Had an acct with Rooms to Go and Care Credit for FIVE years. Always been on automatic payments, never late, never missed a payment. This past month, I had an issue with my bank and both payments resulted in an NSF. I only knew this because MY BANK notified, not synchrony. So I went in and paid both manually. A couple of weeks later I got a letter in the mail saying both acts were closed because of the NSF! Didn't try to contact me or anything, just automatic closure! Spoke to supervisor and nothing they can do… are you kidding me? Never heard of anything like that ever!

I'm writing concerning my Amazon card which I have had several years with a great payment history. Within the last few months I had my payment returned for insufficient funds but I made the payment within a couple of days each time even paid as much as $500 on my last payment and they cancelled my card. So much for years and years of loyalty. I will be telling everyone I know to never use this sorry bank. They don't care about loyalty. And they never contacted me to see why after all my years of loyalty if I had some issues that caused my missed payments. They don't care.

I paid off a 6-month interest-free account in 35 days, after my account was paid off I was wanting to make another purchase. The company put a hold on my account due to it being paid off early and would not release my balance. Once I called I got no help from their call center obviously based out of the country, and when I got a supervisor they were absolutely no help either. They do not care for you or any other customers and they're only out for your money and nothing else. Absolutely the worst, and I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and find a different credit card. This is an absolute joke of a company.

Do yourself a favor and find another option. This company is an absolute joke, they have the worst customer service, and all they will do is screw over there customers who actually pay their bills on time. Never again will I ever use synchrony

Never have i've been so disappointed with a credit card. I want to pay off my entire balance. I have the money, but I don't want to use my money I want to put the balance on a credit card. According to them this is impossible. What should synchrony bank care About how they get the money as long as they get it. We have never been late on a payment not even five days or three days, we always made a minimum Overpayment of $50 over our minimum payment. This is without a doubt the worst credit card you could possibly get! We did it for the convenience because it was in the store. I will never use this card for anything other than shredding material for my garbage!

So I applied for credit for them over a year ago, got it, and called a few months later and asked if it would be ok to wait over a year to use the card and I was told yes. Less than a year later I learned the account was closed and told to reapply, but now they deny all promotional APR and put me in at 24% Apr. My credit score is better than it used to be, and never a late or missed payment. When I inquired they basically told me nothing they can do and they can't honor or reset the previous offer that I never used.

Synchrony has apparently built an all automated system with very little human involvement and hardly any customer service left. It is SUPER hard to get to talk to a human to resolve your issue. And, when you finally make it to talk to someone, they are no help, they keep parroting: the system tells me this, and the system says that, without being able to understand or help with a basic issue. I've had many cards over multiple decades, but I've never had one with such little customer service and disregard to the customer like this one. I guess, that's why companies keep choosing them to service their store cards, little customer service = less work force = savings for the companies and headaches for the customers.

My payments were supposedly setup so that balance was paid in full. It wasn't so I was charged interest. Customer service would not remove interest. I canceled my card immediately, they will not make one cent off me.

Be careful of promotions. They want their interest on balance.

Getting in touch with a live person and getting any resolution to any question is near impossible. Several times once I was able to get a live person, they say hold on while I look into your account and they never come back. I have waited over an hour twice, only to not have the agent come back to the call. Also there always seems to be an issue with their credit card and the "promotional auto purchases". Never coded right and they start charging interest so you need to call to recode the purchase, which leads to them never coming back to the call. Not a reputable bank for anything.

I am a merchant that works with Synchrony Financial in order to add options of financing purchases for my customers. From the start it has been a horrible company to work with. The only reason I still do it is to provide additional options for financing to our customers. They request items you send them, and say they never received them. They tell you they received documents, and then the same person in two days tells you that they never received anything. They are apocalyptically slow at processing anything, and not one single individual I have spoken with in the merchant services departments have had any desire to do anything except get you off the phone. Not sure if this is a serious lack of training with their organization, or a serious lack of desire to do their job with individuals but they do seem to employ a vast amount of incompetent people.

This has to be the worse company to offer credit to consumers. 2nd account where I've done business with a company this time Lowe's. Perfect payment record of on time payments. My credit report shows 100% on time payments for 9 years and this place closes my account for no reason. I personally will no longer shop where businesses use this company.

I never felt the need to Review a company like this but this company is horrible. Every three months they lower my credit card usage resulting in my credit score dropping tremendously every time. For instants last month they drop my limit by $590 and a few month before that it was around the same amount. Whenever they send me the letters explaining why it says because of lack of real estate and that just Doesn't make any sense to me. Please please please stay away from this card. And to give you the grand scheme of what this card has done to my credit I started with a 720 and now I have a 582. And I have never been in the 500s with my credit ever.

This resulted in my credit score tanking. For some reason this bank closed 2 accounts I owed nothing on. I had made my payments on time for all of my accounts with Synchrony. The remaining 3 accounts they lowered my credit limits by several hundred dollars so that I was maxed out, literally over night.

I tried to call them to regain online access - it was sent a call centre in the Philippines. I said I did not consent to being recorded and the Filipino woman (clearly unempowered) said I will make a note of it. I asked to speak to her manager and waited about a half hour on hold - Synchrony recording the call all the time. I finally hung up. I think this company needs to be investigated by some black PI's and expose who their leaders are and then dox their home addresses. Maybe we could even get a dirty lawyer to file a class action suit against them but we all know what dirty lawyers suck on don't we - Synchrony Financials' largess. It's hopeless people - done game over.

Don't ever open an account with these clowns - they will make your life miserable - time for people to rise up and start . . .

First off, trying to talk to someone is jumping through hoops. The fact that I feel like I was screwed into the "no interest charges" and when I noticed they added 2 years of interest on my furniture, now they say they will drop the interest charges if I pay off the balance but STILL make my monthly payment on top of it. This is robbery and I hate that i put myself in this predicament. Never again. BOOOO

They can and will change your limit depending on credit score and report.
Because of this unreliability, highly recommend staying away from them.
AVOID THIS COMPANY.
I have other accounts/ cards before, during and after this card. None had done what they did to me. Instead my other companies offered help, assistance and a sincere phone call once in awhile during my need.
This company instead will turn its head on you, even if you've been good with them.
Careened and unreliable.!
AVOID THIS COMPANY!

If I could give zero I would I was approved for dental work actually called and canceled never received the work. I got a bill before even getting a card. I finally got card and called again to tell them I want this canceled they have not stopped calling me and sending bills. This is ridiculous how do I have a bill without the product.

Would give synchrony a ZERO! If you make an early payment they charge you a late fee! They overcharged me three months in a row... payments were never late! They robo call me constantly! They're CRIMINALS!

Got Amazon card through them. It got compromised, they blocked the card, asked me for my current address and promised to send a card.
Two weeks later I call to find out where is the card - it was sent to the old address! "we will send you a new one".
Fast-forward ten days - no card. I call. "We are sorry the card was not delivered, we will issue a new one".
WHATTTTT
If this time I don't get a card, I don't care, I will close this account.

Paid off my card, $4,000. Was told there was now a hold on my account for a week due to the payment size. I asked for a review by a person, was told that's not possible. I will be canceling my card.

We got credit cards from them and they canceled our cards without telling us and when asked if we could restart them they said no even after we paid them 400 dollars to get the accounts where they said we needed them.

I am deeply dissatisfied with my experience with Synchrony and their Credit Security Service. In April 2021, I opted for a financing option for my new Air Conditioning system, and it has turned into a nightmare.

Automatic monthly payments of $285 were set up, and I recently discovered an unauthorized balance of $4,268.37 on November 13,2023. Shockingly, Synchrony had enrolled me in their Credit Security program without my consent, charging an outrageous $159.5 monthly fee—more than half of my original loan payment. This fee accrued interest at 26.99%, resulting in an unjustifiable balance.

When I contacted customer service, they claimed I had "opted in" during the loan application, a fact that was never clearly communicated. Despite my objections, they offered only a partial refund of $1,785.89, insisting I bear responsibility for the remaining $2,482.48.

This resolution is unacceptable, as I never willingly enrolled in or desired the Credit Security Service. Paying the contested $2,482.48 under duress is my only option to avoid further interest charges.

I urge others to be cautious when dealing with Synchrony, as their unethical practices have had a severe impact on my financial well-being. I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and requested an investigation with the NJ Department of Banking and Insurance to address potential deceptive practices.

Consumers deserve transparency and fairness, neither of which I experienced in this situation.

Care Credit is a Fraud. My husband and I went to dentist we have delta dental and decided to get care credit as a secondary insurance. Well the dentist charged care credit 3,000 for nothing on carecredit. The money was refunded and care credit refused to change payment due, even though it was done due to fraud. Care Credit still stated that the payment is due to the 3,000 fraud had to be paid. So i asked them let me get this straight you want me to pay a monthly payment even though it was due to fraud. WTF. People dont get this credit its bull$#*!. Why do I need to pay for a fradulent account

These people are awful if it says something on your websight then you deny it over the phone then I email you a screen shot of what is on your site says then you continue to deny and hang up on me horrible costumer service
