I just won't recommend them to no one! My monthly payment is $28 but I get charge $40 for late payment. When you are ready to make a payment they are unreachable. And they also keep blowing your phone... it actually a true nightmare with the credit care synchrony bank.
This lender has lowered my credit on two occasions. I had finally gotten my credit up to good standing after going through a divorce where my ex-wife ruined my credit. I got remarried and lost some weight and went into a Belk's to get some celebratory new clothes. They asked us if we would like a card to establish better credit and we agreed. Initially, they gave me a credit line of $800.00. We spent $300 that day and got some new clothes. When I got home, I set up the account and automatic payment. For a few months, I made payments on the account and brought the balance back down to $550. Then I got a letter from Synchrony Bank stating they lowered my credit line to $550. Then, because of what they did to me, my credit dropped 40 points into needs work. I had never missed a payment, on this card or any of my credit accounts. I called Synchrony Bank and they did nothing. I also called the credit reporting agencies and though the agent was validating, they could do nothing. It took several months to get some of my credit points back. Then, this morning, they lowered my line again to just over the balance I had paid down, to $466.00. I am going to pay off this card and never use it again or shop at Belk's ever. Do not apply for a Belk card because Synchrony Bank is a predatory bank that messes with people's lives through credit. Buyer beware.
I do not like anything about this bank anymore. Because when I had a fraudulent issues with one of the motel's owner, the bank didn't investigate it properly, even after I provided all the evidence that $150.49 was charged from my card AFTER I have already paid for our stay in motel $66.54 with the bank's card by myself during check out. They didn't care that I was a loyal customer for years, who paid thousands $ with their card, always paid off statements on time, and had never had any issues with them before. Bank didn't care that a usual night in that motel is from $65 to 75 NOT $150.49. As well as the motel charged me twice: first - $66.54 in their location, promising us that that was the only payment we had to do; and second - when we were on our way home from vacation they also charged us $150.49. Bank accepted a fake docs from fraudulent managerial and didn't even go through the receipts and explanation I'd provided. The customer service is located in India. And they don't help you at all. In my case the owner of motel was Indian family and the customer service are also all ONLY Indian people who even don't locate in America. Bank's customer service also lied to me that they opened the dispute the charge case second time because it was many questions, but instead they didn't do it, and even started charging me interest from the money which are under the dispute the charge case. I feel really very discriminated, put down and disappointed. I will never ever use this card anymore.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use their card in your trips or where you are not sure about the purchase. Bank never supports its own customers with providing a good service, especially in dispute the charge investigations. Stay away from them. Very poor customer service (always outsourcing, not local).

Synchrony financed my couch. I paid it in full, never missing a single payment. When the loan was completely paid off in the contract terms without a single missed payment or underpayment, I asked for the account to be closed.
They refused and continued to access me a monthly "account fee" which I refused to pay. I asked MANY TIMES over TWO YEARS for the account to be closed. I paid my obligation IN FULL. They have completely ruined my perfect credit.
I would NEVER consider financing with Synchrony ever again. They are a complete scam.

Do not apply or get a care credit card from synchrony… they will will not inform you when your bill is due, and then charge you you a 35.00 late charge, terrible communication on there part, I wish I wouldn't have sig Ed with them, but I needed dental work and I didn't have all of the funds for the first visit, so I had know choice but to go with them, big mistake, had to be on the phone with them about not receiving a bill being via email or mail them they charge me with a late fee then when I did get a email it was to late so I paid the whole balance off, withe the charge of the late fee which I wasn't aware of. So them the day I paid the balance they sent me a email saying did I forget something like pay the minimum balance, I paid the whole amount. And they sent a email and the only email I got from them. Saying did I forget to pay a payment, such b. S. bad company to deal with.
Forget about getting anything from Synchrony Bank, they will eventually closed your accounts, just Google Synchrony bank closed my accounts and you will see how many good customers who had their account closed for no reasons, customer are also talking about a class action lawsuit about this.
I guess it became a trend nowadays to get outsource reps with 0 (zero knowledge) and let them run your financial company… what a joke.
Synchrony support not only useless but also provide false information and confusing customers even more.
When it comes to disputes unlike normal banks like AMEX or Chase, this guys will not fight for you, they simply don't care:
1. They're still using mail and fax to obtain doc from you (we're in 2023 now, I don't even own a printer)
2. They will not request a proof of transaction from merchant (not sure why)
3. They provide false and incorrect information, basically a polite way to say (F*** off, go talk to someone else)
4. They will give attitude during the call (like you talking to crazy ex).
5. They refuse to set up a supervisor call back (which is a must have function to ALL financial companies)
In another words, if you have an unauthorized transaction - you would have to deal with it on your own.
I have never experienced anything like that from any credit card company for the past 20 years. So far - this is the worst bank to deal with after Citi.

They will close your account for with 0 notice. I am in the middle of a mortgage and paid off my Care Credit and Synchrony closed all three of my accounts. I attempted to pay out of my savings but my bank kicked back the payment and as soon as I realized the payment was never paid (this was within payment period) I called and fixed it. By this time (still within payment period) Synchrony closed all my accounts due to "dishonorable payments". I have been a customer of 10 years with no late payments and this is how they treat me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK!

Every few months I get an email stating I forgot my payment. Look online, its paid, 2 days early, but they state it was not enough. I take the exact number on the online bill and pay it, but then charge $40 late fee. $40 late fee on a payment of $59? That should be absolutely illegal. Their website is trash. Their online chat is disgusting. The lady on the phone was nice, and ADMITTED that she has heard it before that customers say the payment they have on their statment does not match what is actually owed. For isntance. 10 June. Paid the full amount due. Statement said $59 due on 12 July. 10 July paid $59. Week later get a $40 late fee AND interest Online chat said I owed $85, but that was not what it said on the bill the month before. Totally unacceptable and a scam. If whatever place uses synchrony as their bank, Sleep Number does, GO SOME PLACE ELSE. It is NOT WORTH IT. That is how they do the 3 yaer no interest, knowing they scam folks on the late fees that arent real.
I am a customer who has had 2 accounts now with synchrony credit card and always paid on time always paid them off quickly and they dropped my credit limit both times for no reason which in turn my credit took a 30 point hit I'm extremely upset at them for that and treating a loyal customer like that. The worst company to do any kind of credit card business with if you change your account information you best make sure it's correct because if it isn't they will not accept that as a reason for why there were so many dishonorable payments one number incorrect and they refuse to reinstate my account which has always been paid in full every month and the service person even stated yes I can see that your account has been was changed I will never do service with them again anything with them if I know they're the bank that takes care of the store credit card I will not have a store credit card with that store that's a fact.
I will never accept a credit offer through synchrony again. I had an old navy account with them for about 8 years, always in good standing, that was abruptly closed. I then had an account through mattress firm that was also always in good standing. This account was also abruptly closed due to my credit score declining, despite my credit all being in good standing with every account (score decreased due to high balances due to being in school).
While I still had my promotional balance respected, they refuse to lower my monthly payment despite the fact that my minimum payment is higher than necessary to fulfill my balance prior to the promotional credit ending (they stated that they cannot lower it bc that was the merchant agreement, but synchrony was who CLOSED the account).
The monthly payment was really just a minor frustration, it's the closing of accounts in good standing that negatively affect someone's credit score that has already decreased for whatever reason. I have never had another company do that despite my credit score varying a lot due to a number of things (Large purchases, etc.).
In my opinion, that's just bad for business and so I will never give them mine again even though my income and credit score have greatly improved. I will finance through companies that don't screw over their customers.

This is a HORRIBLE company to deal with for credit, I have had a Home Design credit card with this company since 2020, I used it 1 time to help finance the remodeling of my kitchen. I have been paying the card off, ON TIME, then I get a electronic email saying they are closing my account, but my credit rating from them has been positive.This is SO stupid and this is a incompetent company and I don't even use the card anyway. No reason to close an account that is current.
I have made a complaint in Synchrony since a few months ago I applied for financing through an air conditioning sales company. I made a claim, because this company did not comply with all the agreed terms and I lost 7 days of work every day that they came to check the air. Synchrony is the intermediary and therefore the one that pays them. I have submitted everything required such as messages, calls, the times the technicians have come, photos of the air conditioning thermostat showing that the unit was not working correctly, etc. I never asked for a full refund of the payment, I only asked that the other company pay compensation for the services not offered on time and the quality of the service mentioned. I only ask that I be provided with the service for which I paid and if I do not pay for that type of service that I be charged in the same way as the service provided by that company. Synchrony, as an intermediary and mediator in this situation, must review all the information provided before making a resolution in favor of the company. It is unfortunate that companies like this are playing like this with customers. I don't recommend it to anyone. I hope with this I can help at least 1 person make a decision before using the services of Synchrony Financial Services.

My account was CLOSED due to an issue with autopay. Not suspended but CLOSED! I had a balance of less than $12 which was paid immediately after I received a notice.
I was told that the account couldn't be reopened after it had been closed and I would need to re-apply. Ridiculous! I was about to buy a car and now this account closure will negatively affect my credit score.
If you didn't pay you balance of $12 due to an issue which is beyond your control, be sure these guys will screw up your credit history.
Not to mention other issues with this bank that cost me hundreds of dollars.

Synchrony card is card is ASSUREDLY of no use to ANYONE seeking to maintain or improve his/her credit score... Synchrony meets the definition of predatory and messy business you don't want to be involved at any given point in your dealings.
I was awarded $1500 spending limit to start with them and as soon as I used up to $266, the next day they reported it and THAT ALONE GOT My credit score dropped 22 F'k*** points for using the card... 22 points!

Paid off 2700. 00 bill in Oct 19 bcuz I did charge nothing else they dropped credit to 250.00. Now if I already got approved with the company why go look at my credit now like they did. They economy in a global pandemic so of course my credit usage is high. NEVER AGAIN AND ALL MY FAMILY THAT HAS A CARD WITH ZERO BALANCE THEY WANT EVER USE AGAIN WHICH IS 8 OF USE WE WILL GO TO ASHLEYS OR LOWE.

I had a really good relationship with synchrony bank. I have three different credit cards with high credit limits had them for years never been late we went and bought two new trucks for our business and of course, with interest rates as high as they are these days I shopped with multiple banks to get the best rate on both trucks after doing that on every single credit card synchrony Didn't even send me an email I went to use my cards and they all got declined called synchrony and they lowered my credit limit one card 7800 to 280 second card $9000 to 230 and third card $10,000 to 3250 which Only reason they lowered it to that was because I had a that as a balance for a 0% for 12 months offer. When I called to ask what happened they told me due to my credit report, not having a real estate account which my house is paid for and multiple inquiries. They classify me as a high risk even though I've been with them for years none of my payments are late and my credit score is in the upper 700s One of the worst banks I've ever had will never do business with them again.
Synchrony, in my opinion, is the worst system to use for any kind of banking. Their credit department is abysmal in terms of approvals and changes in your credit. I have had three credit cards closed without notification with on time payments. I have called and they state that based on my credit report they deemed it risky and the system made the decision to close it. There is no way to appeal, all they tell you is that you will have to reapply. I mean, not even a phone call. I regularly check my statements but I do not check it daily to read a letter that they "post" notifying me of any changes that are effective immediately. You try to make a purchase and you are blindsided when the card gets rejected and you don't know why. I have one account with Synchrony and once that is paid off, I will do everything in my power to never use Synchrony again. In my opinion, it is best to stay away from Synchrony due to their communication style, customer service, and just overall lack of humanity.

HORRIBLE COMPANY! I used some of my OTHER credit cards at Christmas time. So that dropped my credit score. THIS bank decided to check my credit AGAIN without my permission and dropped my credit limit so it looked like I had 97% of my card used! It cut my limit in more than HALF! I've paid EVERY payment EARLY and above my minimum payment! I've NEVER in my life had a company DROP my credit limit! I will be getting rid of this card ASAP!
