OfferUp has a rating of 1.4 stars from 863 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about OfferUp most frequently mention customer service, phone number, and credit card problems. OfferUp ranks 753rd among Marketplace sites.
I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad but as for me as a new user it is completely awesome a few flaws easy fixes but it is a site that gets your goods out there an legitimate buyers that responded an showed up not like letgo where in my experience they play games I am very impressed with the site and will tell everyone i no how my experience has been with the site
After many months of purchases and sales, and only perfect five star reviews, Offer-Up sent a notice that my account was being immediately and permanently deactivated for "breaking guidelines or community standards." No further explanation and no reply to my further inquiries and appeals except that the site reserves the right to permanently terminate accounts without warning if someone "breaks guidelines or community standards." Absolutely no idea what I did and they will not tell me. Lost a lot of time and effort and transactions in progress. Heed everyone's warnings: DO NOT USE THIS SITE.
Been using this app for years and they just decided to ban me over something but won't tell me what. Lost a ton of deals with other people and lost all my listings that I spent hours creating as well as the reviews I worked hard for. HORRIBLE customer service. Slow response, doesn't care about other humans at all. Won't recover any of my lost data. Such a scam. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY & THEIR APPS (they own "letgo" too - that app is even worse than offerup!). Use Facebook Marketplace or craigslist instead
I wanted to sell my Louis Vuitton bag for which I also have and mentioned the purchase receipt was available on the ad but without a warning it was removed stating then then by their support, that the bag was flagged by Louis Vuitton, what after a phone call with them was cleared and it wasn't flagged by them at all. To further emails I have sent and asked if they would accept an invoice which is the best evidence for proving the bag is a real item and not a knock off I never got an answer nor when I wanted to talk to an supervisor or get the name of the staff member which by offer ups wrong info would have flagged the bag. Pretty much was just a stupid ridiculous and unprofessional excuse for a mistake their obviously hardly trained customer support made.
Never ever again, for this eBay, close5 and Craigslist are 1000times better. This appears to be a 5 staff member p. O. Box company. Not even any phone numbers to call support - that says in any business already everything!
They restrict you from selling certain items. Tried to sell a vaporizer pens and Ive sold them on other apps but this app wouldnt let me sell it. And Ive done thousands of dollars worth of business with them and now theyre telling me they cant sell certain items that Ive sold other places. I will take my business elsewhere now because offer up has really let me down and causing me a great inconvenience.
The majority of the sellers I sent messages to, did not respond. Hard site to spend money on, when the sellers won't respond. I probably will not use the site due to I do not appreicate being ignored and having the product I sent message after message about, sold to someone else. I felt very devalued as a customer. I guess you can run into jerks where ever you buy, but that one left me with a bad impression, along with the lack of communication and waiting for my offer to be accepted, when I have offered the exact amount the seller wanted. The seller let my offer expire 6 times. Then sold to someone else. I guess she picked and chose who she wanted to sell to. I am thinking at this point in time, the bad out weighs the good.
Just moments after I had installed it I had people trying to sell me a Silverado for $1,200 the truck is easily worth ******* to $15,000 come to find out these people don't even have a truck so this app it's full of frogs and scammers protect yourself protect your money stay away from this app
They failed to intentionally not verify my emails after i asked 4 times to fix the issue. So that they force me to use truyou. I know many users that dont use truyou and able to communicate w buyers and sellers without the truyou. They stopped me responding to buyers so I'm forced to sign in for truyou. Offer up is a discriminating scam company but nothing else. I'm deleting my account. Go f... urself offer up. I have your recorded emails. Lawsuit is coming up. Get ready!
This morning I was scammed by offerup. Offerup sent me an invoice for a vehicle clamming the vehicle was insured and the shipping and delivery was free. Once I got the 3 eBay's cards. Offerup the emailed me and said I had to pay 400.00 more. I have tried reaching offerup for 9 hours and they will not reply. Total scam! Beware
Purchased an item from Matter of Facts with my CC. It was marked as sold with total and shipping. After 4 days no communication no tracking- NOTHING onthe 5th day the transaction was cancelled. I cant call it a scam as others have because i got my money back. This was my first and last time using Offerup and especially Matter of Facts.
So my account got hacked and from there it got worse. Like all other reviews say, no live support, no emails back. ALSO take a look at the responses back from 'offer up' to any review... it states 'thanks... blah blah blah, contact *******@offerup.com to let us help you.
So the reviews state the issue and then the response is, here is an email to repeat what you just said? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
DO NOT USE THIS APP!
Tip for consumers:
No security. CC information was stolen.
I found a Cinema Camera for sale on offer up by someone named "Roc" To make a long story short. I paid for the camera outside of the OU platform (shame on me), but after I paid my $1,100 for the camera through Zelle, the seller whos screen name is now "Crunch" went AWOL. To add insult to injury, he is still selling from his page and Offer Up will not even flag the account. All I want is my camera or my money back. This is a scam site at its best.
1. I thought I was making a one-time payment but it turned out to be a "subscription" that required opting out.
2. When I was billed for a second month, I tried to opt out but couldn't figure out how, so I deleted all my information.
3. My credit card expired, so I figured I was safe. When I renewed my credit card, that information was routed (Amazon > Apple > Offer Up) and within hours I was billed for a third month.
4. I requested a refund. It was refused by a bot in a matter of seconds.
5. I went online and to learn how to deactivate my account, and did. They got an extra $40 bucks from me and an enemy.
Why does my saved listings go back to the beginning when I unsave an item? I need it to stay in the same area where I was. Taking too long to clean. My problem is the update with the app sending me to the beginning time after time.
Their claim was that I went against community guidelines— but I've done nothing. I sold a checkered bag that was not a knockoff— but just a bag with checkered print. There was no infringing on copyrights no logos nothing. They stood by their decision and said I would not be allowed to come back.
Tip for consumers:
Someone needs to shut them down. When letgo was a thing — there was NEVER an issue like there is with this awful platform. I’d go to Craigslist before I go here.
As soon as I listed a couple of items I received people interested in buying them but when I responded to their interest they didnt respond. One asked me to verify I was for real they would send me a 5 or 6 digit number so I would respond with that number. Sounds like some high tech scam. This site, iin my opinion, is NO GOOD to sell anything, waste of time.
I sold a product to a customer and shipped it by FedX instead of USPS. They canceled my entire sale and refunded my money to a customer that had already received the products. You can't call them!
I will never use OfferUp again! EVER!
I have purchased two ps5s from this site and both I paid and both not delivered. I went back to make a claim and offers are deleted and company let's them disappear. I hate this such a scam and no human contacts.
Products used:
Nothing never got any products I bought
I have been on Offer- Up for 3 yrs and No problem Till they merge with " LetGo and I start have problems with my account and I email them and they till me my account is deleted for inappropriate language, I ask them what language. The last conversation I had was the customer asked me if they purchased more than one could I possibly shipped them together and I say we would problems have go up to next shipped rate and anything over that I will pay difference, so I guess that the language they talked about... They never would explain... So I post some of my stuff on my friends page and they deleted his page also. Offer up is a piece of crap I will never used offer up again after all that $$$ I have made them. If you want good site go to " Mercari" best site out there..
Geez, what a piece of crap this website is. A collection of morons. You would have to be a moron to put anything on this site for sale. No assistance or communication from the site, sellers don't seem to want to sell, this is useless and a waste of time. I can't imagine why anyone would want to buy or sell anything using this site. Run do not walk away from this site!
Since I just join this 2014 everything is fine unit now this year. They are did delete me all my list over 40 item. I don't understand whyyy... i just Delete account after i just make new account again after i post item don't showing my list. I am not happy with this. Please fix this damn Company dude. I
Sold item and shipped to customer offerup collected money and said my bank will not let them put money in my account. They asked for a debit card i gave them total of 4 two from bank account and two from my paypal and my wifes paypal still say they cant deposit money. So i asked for th to send me a check and they said they dont do that. So im put $180 and there are no phone numbers i can find to contact them. Everytime i email th it takes minimum of 24 hours for someone to respond.
Stay away from this fraudulent cpmpany
Buyer beware! Offer up is hosting car scams. My wife just got scammed and now I can't pay my rent. She baught a car for 2400. 00 and we are out! I am posting bad reviews on Facebook and all social media networks. And every thred I find. We need to do something about these bad scams and the places hosting them. Thanks allot offer up!
Homestylon is a company that takes the money and doesn't send you anything and is ussing offerup to do their duty business. I ordered an item twice from them and I lost my money. PayPal doesn't help either.
I have been using offer up for a while now and within 5 months of messages to people, not 1 actually replied. No one should use this app, you should use Facebook marketplace instead. Every message I send I get a response at-least within 40 minutes. But there is more, offer up banned both my account when I did absolutely nothing neither messaged anyone or put any posts up whatsoever. Horrible app and is very easy to get scammed. GET RID OF THIS APP NOW!
Offer Up is a PARODY! Literally they're overseas moderators flagged 1 in 3 posts! My second hand sunglasses were removed for being "medical devices". My Prada Store posters were removed for "being counterfeit", sets of items are removed (like you can only list items individually) mindless harassment.
The demographic shopping on the site in my experience were illiterate grifters asking for shipping when you post local only! People that want to barter to less than zero! Flakes abound on the site and legitimate posts are removed while $300 hand sanitizer (illegal) is everywhere!
Offer Up is a waste of time scam site trying to make money off of "free posts"! WORSE THAN WORTHLESS!
I just recently had an extremly frustrating interaction with a buyer, and also the support team. I was selling older pokemon cards that were worth a good but of money. The buyer had asked for me to ship the item so I did, and knowing how fragile pokemon cards are, I decided to put it in between 2 pieces of cardboard so that the cards wouldn't bend. Come to find out that he claims that I didn't even add any protection and that the cards are bent. I try to contact the support, and they end up refunding the buyer, so now I am out of really expensive cards, and the money that I would have received.
