I sold a collector zippo to someone and never received payment for it from OfferUp. I tried several times to get ahold of someone who worked there after about a week they reached out to me and told me that they sent my payment and I should contact my bank. I contacted my bank and they could not find any transaction from them. I took this as a loss and will never do business with them again.
Listed an item, get nothing but broke losers wanting me to take off more than 75% because they can't afford asking. Eventually lower the price and get a buyer but the losers that couldn't afford it are now whining that they wanted it now. Uh, first come, first served. Never using it again.
I placed an order to buy a Roku streaming stick on OfferUp. It turned out the seller Ly Thanh Nhan scammed people and do not ship the products. I opened a case with Paypal and hopefully get a refund. Offerup does not even have any support / help to buyers. Don't risk wasting time and money on such a garbage website.
I posted a listing. Got a quick response seeking to buy it. I sent a reply seeking to make the exchange. Shows not being delivered. When I emailed to complain about this the response was that they thought that I had a disputed transaction and thus was not being treated as an active listing. No prior indication about this or response when I placed my listing. When I questioned this poor treatment they ignored me. Just a bunch of jerks.
I purchased some bakeware pieces that were mailed to me. They arrived broken. The seller felt the fault lay with the post office, but I wanted a refund. OfferUp claims they have a buyer guarantee if you contact them within four days of receiving an item you are dissatisfied with. I contacted them numerous times by email and received no response. Then I called. The recording says calls to that number are not monitored. I finally filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. BBB reached out to them numerous times, and never received a response. I finally had to file a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back. Terrible platform with no integrity as a business. I will never buy anything off that site platform again.
Erased all my previous purchases which I needed for tax purposes, most of my saved items and most of my conversations. Erased MANY hours of research and time. They also need to boot items that are years old.
I have been using offer up off an on for years, it is great if you are doing cash transactions only. I recently tried to ship an item on Dec. 19th, the item arrived on the 21st, the buyer had no problems and accepted the product. It has been nearly a month and OfferUp will not release my money. I have contacted them several times and IF they respond it is the same canned response, "We will look into it.". The moment the money hit the OfferUp account they took their share but when it comes to giving you your money they will not release it. Here is a link to the list of complaints against OfferUp from the BBB. I have already contacted law officials in my area... which happens to be near their head quarters.

What an effin joke! Seriously began to feel offended on an emotional level. Maybe I'm too sensitive? But seriously I felt like I was being screwed with over and over and over! I had about 20 ppl inquire about an item Items i posted for sale, asking questions or offering to pay the price I listed, I was thrilled. I would take the time to answer or negotiate if I felt it was neccesary. Every single time I responded, or In some cases got close to sealing the deal id get no reply. I would reach out asking if they were still interested, and nothing. I thought maybe the potential buyer was just rude but every time? Doubtful. I wasted so much time and got my hopes up for the last time today being I haven't sold a single item since I signed up over a month ago! So pissed
I have never taken the time to write a negative review until now. I hope this site gets shut down!
Their website has so many problems. I wanted to go see some furniture so in my correspondence with the seller, I gave my phone number as we were going to go see it. Evidently, that is against their rules. No problem. However, I couldn't respond to the seller because I was now blocked. I wrote their customer service team. Very slow and sterile response. They said they reinstated me. I tried to respond to the customer but was still blocked. I would suggest that OfferUp management hold focus groups to understand their internal problems and poor customer service. The person in charge of their customer service is failing miserably.
Yes I had complained about this company to the person in charge of it and my messages have not been respond they sell junk on there car audio like a stereo blown and the man was harassing my spouse saying he blown it and did not he did the person selling it now he is wanting to take someone to court and he is going to be out of luck so he went and a female on there had a car battery for amps she got all mad and started cussing him like an idiot saying your blowing up my phone geez get a life and those females on there are dressing like a hoe to trap someone in to buy something off of them.
I desperately need to get rid of stuff. I found Letgo and loved it! I got rid of lots of stuff. Since Letgo became part of OfferUp, I have not received any hits on my stuff and the whole thing just seems sketchy. I'm so mad!
Either be free open source platform or offer paid services.
I am a business owner and offer up keeps flagging my contents.
If you don't like me posting my products, open a business page sites that just for business.
Don't just flag my content because you don't like businesses posting content.
Pathetic.
I wouldn't trust this site only trust this site if you sell to someone you can get the money from right away otherwise your screwed and the sites not going to help you. I'm out 90 dollars from shipping an item out of state that they paid for shipping and receiving but I never got paid, and no help from anyone.
I used offer up for about a year. Had a lot of repeat customers buying in bulk and always looking for what I was headed to offer next. All my reviews were top notch. But it is turned in the total s*** and chaos. Told my customers my friends where else to find me cuz I wasn't going to be here anymore..
Sold an item quickly. Changed ad to sold. Three months later I still get offers. I deleted my account to stop emails, still get offer from a washer I sold six months ago. Offer up sucks. No customer service to solve problems.
Tried to buy a BBQ on OfferUp. Seller sent item quickly but had postage due that was 3x what was quoted. Seller claims that OfferUp error. Refused delivery and waiting for refund. Not ETA on refund, at the mercy of the USPS to send item back, have seller receive item, then issue refund. Avoid at all costs. For items that need delivery, stick with Amazon.
Offerup would be worth more if you put it in a trash can and sold it. Offerup is a sorry excuse for an application. It is digusting at the very most, there is not enough words in any language in the world to be able to articulate how utterly garbage this "thing" for lack of better word is. Offerup is like a kid you aborted but was born without you knowing when you took a $#*! and survived in the sewer. My Nintendo 64 has a faster smoother feeling UI system then this piece of $#*!. The fact that I had Offerup installed on my phone makes me want to consider burning it, freezing it, than throwing it in the middle of the pacific ocean, than nuking that entire radius of ocean. Offerup's management quite literally told me that if a customer buys replaces and than returns another item to you that they don't give a $#*! and that its completely my fault. $#*! Offerup don't use it use something that's worth calling an app.
I was a loyal seller with a five star rating for several years! I was selling a firestick, like multiple sellers on the platform, as was told I didn't follow the rules and my account was disabled. I followed up with several pictures showing other sellers selling the same item and received the same rote response. Meaning know one looked at my evidence and no one cared. I recently tried to reach out again and have been ignored!
I did have a positive experience as a seller and I took pride in what I sold, packaged and followed up. Offerup did not have my back! Be ware should you EVER need customer support. You are better off on Facebook Marketplace!
They have no live person to speak to, literally no contact number and no email to complain to if things go wrong, and with Offerup, things often go wrong. Besides disregarding the customer completely (both buyers and sellers) you can only sell of you use a phone as the PC website fails to recognize sellers nor has any way to post. If you sell to someone to mail, they charge you 10% and also make their own method of shipping. Neither the customer nor the buyer have any choice of how to ship and they undercharge the amount so the buyer is often stuck with the loss, and again, NO ONE to complain to. Its very poorly run and they don't seem to care since there is no one to talk to. Stupid and childishly put together amateur waste of time.
If you want stolen merchandise letgo is the way to go. The app blows and so do the makers. Pay close attention to the sellers and their half asked attempt to sell used stolen tools for what you would pay for new tools...
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.
