OfferUp has a rating of 1.4 stars from 863 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about OfferUp most frequently mention customer service, phone number, and credit card problems. OfferUp ranks 754th among Marketplace sites.
I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad but as for me as a new user it is completely awesome a few flaws easy fixes but it is a site that gets your goods out there an legitimate buyers that responded an showed up not like letgo where in my experience they play games I am very impressed with the site and will tell everyone i no how my experience has been with the site
After many months of purchases and sales, and only perfect five star reviews, Offer-Up sent a notice that my account was being immediately and permanently deactivated for "breaking guidelines or community standards." No further explanation and no reply to my further inquiries and appeals except that the site reserves the right to permanently terminate accounts without warning if someone "breaks guidelines or community standards." Absolutely no idea what I did and they will not tell me. Lost a lot of time and effort and transactions in progress. Heed everyone's warnings: DO NOT USE THIS SITE.
This is got to be the most ridiculous way to sell your things, almost every response I've gotten from my items it's just a waste of time, excuse me...(they're wasting my time) or they don't show up. What a JOKE.
Zero of four purchases worked out, only one of four sellers even responded and said he does not use this site. I paid for things which were never even shipped. This site appears to be a spoof site where pictures are uploaded after being downloaded from real sites like Etsy or eBay. They got my phone number and now I am getting aids sent to me by text. They collected a lot of personal information and of course, my credit card to pay for the item which the owner likely does not even have.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site, it is just a scam

I purchased things which were never shipped. Now I am fighting for a refund.
I used OfferUp to sell something.
I never got paid because my account was still setup to have the money deposited into an account I haven't had for years. I called my bank, and they said that the deposit didn't show up on their end and would have been rejected, since the account didn't exist.
I let OfferUp know, and they said that they can't help at all.
I've never dealt with a more non-empathetic support, staff. It's like they don't even care to help customers.
My husband made a car post and the page charged him $ 9.99 but that money disappeared and there was no post, he tried again thinking and they stole another $ 9.99. Without knowing about it, I made the publication on my own on another phone and Oh surprise they also stole $ 9.99 from me. Before I sold a lot around here but now apart from scam ghost buyers / sellers, the page is also scam. Customer service does not exist, we try to send the complaint many times but it is not possible.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use this page

Their notification schema must be the worst on the planet. I can NEVER get anyone to respond to messages (or offers for that matter) even as a verified user. Items also seem to be left up for months and months indicating that there are too many sellers that abandon their listings. This fails miserably as a competitor to Craigslist given OU's lack of contact, flagging and listing time limits. I've no use for OfferUp.
I've reported on multiple occasions the criminals selling high profile current movies on USB sticks. I'm talking about dozens of ads doing this. Offerup's own policies are being violated and they are completely ignoring this and allowing it to continue. Any site that willingly allows criminal activity to continue isn't worth the time. I believe the site owners should be brought up on charges. I pay to rent movies from Apple and Amazon, and this site allows people to sell 50 at a time on USB for like 30 bucks a pop. If I was to try this the cops would come to my door and arrest me. How they allow it to go on without being busted is beyond me. The site should be shut down.
OfferUp sucks! They send you notifications for crap you don't want. It had nothing to due with what you were looking for. I would delete the notifications and within an hour they come back up. Plus, these old listings, even from 3 years ago, why are they not gone? And even some new ones, you ask about the item to this so called person, and they never answer back. W T F? They just listed it! OfferUp needs to have a timeframe for the listings. Like 1 week, then it's deleted. If they still have it, list it again.
I thought the shipping experience was awesome and the sellers but, unfortunately that's where it ended. I purchased a 4 channel amp that said normal wear but that isn't true the seller regret to inform me that 1 of the channels (front right) were blown so just know it's not always green grass I tried it but that will be the last time I get screwed over. Just messed up my first experience was that bad $300 plus gone not to mention had it professionally installed $89 smh
Unlike Ebay, which holds their sellers accountable, Offerup does not such thing. Sellers list items and then fail to ship with zero accountability. Sellers can do this over and over again with no penalty. So you waste your time looking for an item, pay for it, the seller doesn't ship, and Offerup doesn't care. They also don't remove items when you report them as scams, so you're basically on your own. You might as well go to a crack house and buy stuff with this level of involvement and protection.

Their web site.
I was trying to purchase a washer & dryer and refrigerator on OfferUp, and after putting in several offers to different sellers, I never got a response. I'm not sure why someone would post something, then not respond to potential buyers. This service does not seem legitimate. My experience has not been good, so I will be looking elsewhere.
Since the merger of Letgo which I used many times the amount of scams and false ads is F'N ridiculous. Don't have time to play around when shopping for items. I will no longer be a customer on this site gone to crap. Back to Craigslist and marketplace
Extremely frustrating to use as a Seller. Items are randomly and arbitrarily flagged. There is no clear guidance from Support on what is and isn't allowed and half the time it is a coin toss when you contact support as to whether or not your item will be reinstated, regardless of whether or not you are following the written rules or not. Basically, it seems all authority is given to individual support personnel which leads to completely arbitrary application of the rules. I've literally received several notices from them with contradictory statements in the notice and when I asked for clarification was simply brushed off.
This site is a waste of time. Most Sellers don't answer and just ignore your offers and questions. Not only that, but people price their stuff too high, and clearly from the endless pictures of item on dirty floor, nasty bedspread, or filthy stained carpet does not justify high price. Don't waste your time. Go on Ebay. It's still the best place to buy used and new stuff at great price if you are patient.
The very day that Offer Up merged and jettisoned Let Go, cost me a $300 sale on my outside bar. I was to meet someone that day, but could never get in touch with them again.
Since offer up has taken over I have had only 2 inquiries. I have deleted Offer Up, as I find their service very much below expectancy! RZ 5/21/21
I've never had a problem in 6 months reviewing people or reporting people but at this point I have some c********** trying to annoy the s*** out of me. I tried blocking him wouldn't happen fix it or I will leave this company

No answer, no communication, no customer service, no phone numbers. Absolute garbage. Dint waste your time waiting to hear back from a offer you sent because it is either 4 months old or never been updated as sold. $#*! a easy answer would be to mark anything after 7 days sold so others don't waste time to hear back. I can't believe I'm saying this but both Craigslist and FB marketplace are far better options for buying used items or items with the opportunity to negotiate price. Kick rocks offer up.
When you sign up they let you post a lot, specially cars. As soon as you get used to doing so, they start limiting your postings to force you pay for it. Medieval and grotesque tactic. Disgusting, truly nasty customer service. I hope some competition comes along soon and bury these idiots. STAY AWAY!
Tip for consumers:
Don't fall for their grotesque tactics. They limit your posting visibility and, then, offer paid "promotions" to give you back the visibility they took away. Disgusting people. Too bad letgo was gone.

I saw that OfferUp was a potentially good site to sell items. I posted several items and then OfferUp shut my account down alleging 'We noticed activity on your account that violates our Community Guidelines'. I guess posting end tables and chairs is somehow a violation. What a waste of time. I got 2 views but no other activity ie. I'm not sure how that constitutes a 'violation'. Don't bother with OfferUp. I ended up selling on Nextdoor and Facebook Marketplace.
I hate Offerup. Unfortunately, when I have items to sell, they usually sell quicker on this app than anywhere else so I have to use it. I haven't experienced any major problems selling except for the ridiculous offers which I politely decline. I have had MAJOR problems buying however so I will no longer be buying anything on the app. Sellers I have encountered lately are so rude. They either won't respond or act annoyed if you ask questions because they've only provided one picture and one sentence. I'll stick to established retail stores even if it costs more. Customer service is so much better.
I'm looking to buy a car. Everybody I contact on Offer Up writes back with the same freaking line "I'm selling this for my aunt please contact her at such and such email address." And when you follow thru with it just to see where it goes, it's the same there "I'm out of town but send money thru Amazon. Then they contact you with this fake Amazon sh##! So fu##ing frustrating. You'd think Offer Up would be up on this and try to keep their community clean. But it's dirty and filthy as hell! Fu## Offer Up! It's a snake pit!
This app needs to be erase from planet earth. Whoever is the owner of this app are miserable human beings. They never replied back and care less who you are. They also deactivate your account for no reason
Have several items listed and the ones I have gotten action on start by low-balling to less than half my selling price. Then they sound insulted that you won't sell to them.
Buying: it took 3 weeks for one person to reply. By then I'd bought from a store.
No vacation setting, you have to "deactivate" the item. No way to get back to the top unless you pay the bump fee.
I'm deleting my account.
OfferUp is the most useless app on the planet. Usually when I sell something I post it on both OfferUp and craigslist. To this day I have never sold anything through OfferUp. It's always been a craigslist buyer. People on OfferUp inquire about your item and then never answer back or they will make plans to meet you and not show up. I'm pretty sure that it's a fake app with fake users.
There's nothing but dealerships on offer up selling they're cars. I don't think that is fair. For people like me who owns one car and needs the money and is just trying to sell the vehicle to make ends meet. Maybe the makers or the people who run this app could make a separate place or site for them to do they're business so that us little guys can do what we can. With all the vehicles that are constantly posted by them there's no chance for people to see what regular people are posting. Please help!
I bought supposed locked iPhone 12 pro max for parts, and the seller sent me a CLONE phone with a different imei number as ad
Vertised. I reported to offer up immediately, guess what they did, released my money to the criminal. Sending me an email that I never reported on time. Offer up go to your app and investigate it and you will find out I reported the issue same day. Please refund my money. This is wrong and bad for your company.
