In a word Brothers and Sisters, don't. I lost money. Offerup has no phone system. Offerup is a racket. Example, you get two (2) days to return an item, they take four days to get back with you... and then tell you your time to return an item has expired... duh. I confronted the seller about the item she listed as "new, in the box, never opened". She told me to send the item back for a "partial refund". Since when does a seller get to be judge and jury? No doubt she thought she was doing me a favor. I'm not the only one to have this experience. May I suggest eBay. They have a free customer protection and it works very well, and eBay actually has phones with real people you can talk to.
I am a twelve year buyer and seller with eBay and have 100% positive feedback.
Twelve years of excellent eBay customer service, bravo!

Offerup SUCKS! Don't waste your time because you'll lose all your work.
No method to re-post so lots of copy and paste, re-uploading photos, waste of bandwidth. No way to edit your posting on your desktop so very inefficient for serious seller who lists hundreds of items.
They deactivated my account because I changed my username from my real name to something more appealing, no warning.

I tried to buy a game off of OfferUp, the seller told me he accidentally sent me the wrong package when it come in to send it back, I didn't think anything of it because he seemed legit. Never got the game and the seller refused to respond there after. Can not contact anyone on offerup to report this person and my son was out of a game

I mean you can't get any help when you have problems selling your items online and you try to contact all for up they give your number but it's a scam it's not real so I need to stop messing with offer up it's no good way of selling your items from your house

I listed an item and it immediately disappeared. I never could find it again on the site. Put it on two other sites and had over 24 saves within 3 days. Not a single hit on Offerup. It seems a total waste of time.

Offer up and cash app are the biggest scammers.
They help the scammers by letting them open an account without checking whether their info is legit.
Be careful do not use offer up and cash app.

Very disappointed with the customer service. I have had some issues with my account. I tried to cancel an offer and it's pending review. I wrote multiple emails trying to resolve the issue. But nothing seems to change!

I bought an item to be shipped to me. OfferUp says if not shipped by Seller in three days, the sale is cancelled. Not true. After six days, item was not shipped, OfferUp did not cancel the order, and OfferUp did not reimburse my bank account for the charge. Never again will I buy something onOfferup that includes shipping.

I have tried using OfferUp now for the last couple of months.
The following are the issues i have found:
1. Sellers often don't get back to your offer for weeks or not at all.
2. Ads almost never get deleted even up to 1 year or more old
3. Sellers are Rude or Bad Attitude
4. Asks for too much Security on the 3rd login for the day

I recommend using CraigsList instead not so much drama!

They have so many inactive sellers that if you buy from them your not getting your item or your money back. You have to pay for it first and not knowing that you just got ripped off already. Why doesn't they hold on to our funds till our item is delivered. Not a secured place to buy anything.

I got my account and my computer banned because I reported the scammers TOO much. Free macbook shippng scam. Any idiot even an offer up moderator could see the silly scam meant to fool dumb buyers into sending $35 to the scammer via pay app outside of offer up.the only way you can get back on offer up is to get a new PC. Offer up has a way of putting a virus deep in your PC to block it from making a new account.
Cleaning the PC and changing IP no luck. Offer up buries some nasties deep in the PC. OK i get a new PC well I get many used PC make a bunch of accounts and create havoc on that site now. Getting even is more fun than being a good guy trying to help offer up...

I have had offer up for years. NEVER violated any community rules. My daughters and I started having tech problems. Customer service to get help isn't reliable. First saw a msg that I needed to reset password. Once I did I couldn't log back in. Saw a msg that says I violated community rules. So I'm done and deleted App. Great idea bad business management.

Offer up will cut off you account with out any notification at all. Seems like they cut my account off after I shipped out a gutar Now how do I get my money for the item. I emailed offerup and still waiting with no response. Does not protect sellers.

Tried to give for free, 3 Roosters away on offer up.
Had my add pulled as they said I could not sell live animals on their site. So I went to look and see what all could not be sold on the site. I was shocked to see that they do not allow so much perfectly legal items to be sold. What they do allow is mostly junk.
What business is it of theirs controlling what I want to sell or give away to people that want to buy legal items. I am off this site forever now. And to top it off I see if you pay for adds you can and do list live chickens on the site. See photo of add.

Im a seller on this pathetic app and I have been emailing/tweeting their "customer service" for 9 days bec they charged a customer for shipping but never emailed me a shipping label as per their policy. This happened twice a few days apart. They have no phone number to call. 9 days and no response. I am still waiting as of this review. Their name says it all. They OFFERUP no help. I should have known.

I signed up for the free trial of their promote plus feature. I wasn't impressed with the results and attempted to cancel the subscription before being billed. Problem is that OfferUp doesn't make canceling an option. Therefore the free trial becomes a $19.99 trap. I reached out to OfferUp. They didn't remove Promote Plus and did not refund my money. Avoid OfferUp.

Please be aware of vehicle purchasing. I was in the market for a vehicle and thought I would go on OfferUp to find something affordable with no payments. I messaged the seller and I receive a email telling me they're selling the vehicle for someone else to contact them and I did. I get a email from that person saying they travel a lot and you have to send the money through eBay with no test drive. I told them the ad states it's in a city that I'm near why can't I go look at it and they kept coming up with so many excuses. Also they changed their name 2 times and also deleted their profile pic after I called them out for scamming and they never responded back. I also reported this to OfferUp and they still have the vehicle up for sale. I sent them the emails and everything. The price was to good to be true anyways so that's another way you can tell it's a scam.

The reviews here are so helpful. As my first time to sell something in offerup, i didnt know much about the shipping policy but as i read the negative reviews, i decided to make my item available on my area not nationwide. A couple buyers were so eager. One told me to reconsider my decision to have it ship the item to her. But i refused and said, if she is so eager, i can ship it on my own but not through offerup. Guess what, offerup has a generator/algorithm system that will automatically ban your message if you attempt to negotiate and sell the item other than through offerup itself. Just wow. So be careful what you're saying in your chat. They are watching your words. Lol

In the middle of communications to buy a surf board they made me do truyou. What a cluster and all my text went ignored. Waited 40 minutes plus the drive and the other person never got my text. In the chaos I lost
The great deal. Offer up owes me 400 Dollars and two hours of my life back.

I have used OfferUp for over 4 years and I have sold over 200 items and have 150 reviews with 5 star average. I got banned because my family made account for themselves, I contacted support but they don't allow to make 2 accounts even if it's another person. It's because we use the same internet. A few weeks my family also got their account banned. Just about the time to get banned, there are a lot of "scam" messages and it's about every third message. Also there is less people buying than a few years ago. About 20-30% less than 3 years ago. Nobody will use OfferUp soon. Go use FB Marketplace, you get more customers there and only rising

Very different than letgo. I have messaged several people about items they have listed on offerup. Some are honest and respond to you and some don't. If an item is still for sale people should respond when someone inquires. I have reported several who either don't respond, initially respond then for some reason ignore you, or say they will meet you then dont show up. There are some people that have done the right thing and made an honest sale. Offerup should block or kick the ignorant people off their site permanently. Compared to letgo, offerup is a 1 star site. VERY DISSAPOINTING!

The site doesn't work... I message people to purchase something and never a reply, I tried everything offer up said to fix it but nothing worked. Let go always worked but now that they joined up with offer up, they suck now as well... fix your garbage app!

I tried to register as a different user - same problems. I tried to delete app and re-load - no improvement. It seems that my problems with Offer-Up are my cellphone number related. So far no solution is found.
