“Interaction on a whole new level”

Robert L.
9/14/17

Let me just start by saying, Spot.IM is going to change the online publishing industry. Never before have I been able to participate in a community as active as the ones Spot.IM creates. Their lightweight community tools boost onsite engagement and keep the users involved. Instead of resorting to social media, Spot.IM builds an ecosystem around your viewers on your own site. Allowing members to chat, like/dislike, and trend all around your website. You truly do not know how many silent viewers you have on your site until you give them a voice, Spot.IM is that voice.

“ClosedWeb, a very Soviet undertaking”

Buyer B.
8/19/24

Don't be fooled by the Orwellian name of this company and their bogus, sanctimonious mission statement. Their fundamental fuction is to strategically censor a certain political perspective under the pretext of "creating a safe place." Always remember, "content moderation" is Silicon Valley's euphemism for censorhip. And censorship, not only infringes on the speaker or author, but also on society's access to open dialogue and debate - the activities ClosedWeb pretends to value.

Spot IM creates active communities that truly bring in the best out of every publisher's sites. Building online communities is something that is proliferating in today's day and age and Spot IM manages to tackle the potential of your community by providing them with a platform to express their own opinions in your own site.

I'm proud to say that I have been a member of the Spot.IM community for more than 4 months now and I couldn't be happier. My experience with this community has been truly exceptional and everyday is getting bigger and bigger. If you are someone who is looking to increase traffic and spark things off your website, this is it! If you need credibility of this service, just enter their website and you will see that these people are working with top companies such as HuffPost, NBC, AOL, Refinery, Fox News and many many other respectable companies. Fully recommended!

Uses an atrocious and unforgiving AI to censor any, and every, frivolous thing with no manner of reverse or disputing. Will actively shadow ban anyone pointing out their censorship.

Adolf and Stalin are green with envy over the level of censorship OpenWeb practices. Shadow-banning, poor coding (reviews just spinning for hours but never post) and a list of "discussion standards" that Jesus Christ couldn't even meet. Avoid ALL websites using OpenWeb and make sure to tell them why.

This has been really "fun" to deal with on Yahoo News, apparently a dollar amount is "all caps" and thus is not allowed.

Good work, Orwell would be proud, except the execution is very poor.

OpenWeb provide automated comment moderation for Yahoo! Since they were added every single comment I've made has been automatically rejected supposedly because they "violate community guidelines" regardless of the comment. I've literally said "Hello everyone, hope you all are having a great day!" and it's been rejected. I never use foul language and I love everyone, but I am politically moderate and independent so I suspect that OpenWeb is being used to "weed out" moderates and conservatives. I've used Yahoo for nearly 20 years and all of a sudden the comment community goes from center right to far left since OpenWeb takes over the comments? Not possible. What IS happening is anyone who points out the errors (and often out-right lies) in Yahoo's "news" is being silenced to give the appearance that most people are far Left. Their "appeals" process is just more smoke and mirrors as I've asked politely a dozen times for someone to actually LOOK at the comments being rejected and for the past year I've never gotten a reply or even a notice saying I've been banned or barred from commenting. It's disgusting that Yahoo has sunk this low. Hard to believe they were ever the Internet's number one website.

I commented on an post, including a link to a news article that ran contrary to what the post was saying. I included no words of my own. Just a link, pointing to a clear example of obvious, undeniable counterevidence, trying to be a bit humorous. The post was taken down for "violating community guidelindes". It was a link to a news article, I included no words of my own, zero editorialization, but it was rejected. Furthermore, there is no recourse once you've been 'rejected'. No appeal process, no ability to talk to a person. Abysmal product and site, unwilling to do even the bear minimum. Absolutely pathetic from OpenWeb.

OpenWeb has 'shadow-banned' me on FoxNews. No explaintion, no recourse, no replies from OpenWeb feedback, nothing but silence.

What a sleazy practice of censorship by OpenWeb, and FoxNews allows them to do it.

Tip for consumers:
Shadow-Banning people is a sleazy practice and an assault on the 1st Amendment.

Awful censorship even for moderates. I was saying HI on a yahoo article, just to test it out. It was rejected. Maga fascist comments were allowed though.

This company and their forum platform sucks, Yahoo made a massive mistake by contracting with these inept morons who use AI to moderate posts, they suppress users and they leave, this AI moderation actually prevents posts, this is the worst forum platform ever. I have run national forums as an administrator for decades, so I know what I am talking about, they value spambots more than actual human posts, Open Web is Death Web.

So much for freedom of speech. These so-called moderators for AOL are nothing more than liberal, can't handle the truth, hypocrites. Other commentators use foul language and their remarks are published, but mine doesn't, actually states facts, and they don't like, and thus reject it. The one they rejected of mine, was about the FACT that we paid for our children to go to college, only to discover that they felt threatened by their teachers, that if they didn't go along with their line of thinking, that they might not pass that teachers class. Of course they told us and didn't believe the garbage they were being taught, and WE, THE PARENTS, WERE PAYING FOR IT. So just know that the liberals have been infiltrating and dumbing down society for decades now, in an attempt to change it to some kind of society of know nothing idiots, that are puppets for so-called 'Leaders' to use for their own personal gains.

On Yahoo you can type WHITE SUPREMACISTS but not BLACK SUPREMACISTS. On Yahoo the words below are open game for anyone the Hasbara fellowship posts. Israel moderates the comments and any Israeli company is an Israeli government company. So, its safe to assume that these are Israeli policies to America.

Palestinians can be referred to as the follow

But the WORD ZIONIST OR ZIONISM are prohibited and will result in your post being censored.

MUSLIME
MUZZY
COCKROACHES
ANIMALS
RATS
They don't exist
They're a made up people
That there are no innocent civilians in Gaza
Nuke them all
Turn Gaza into a parking lot.

The pro Israeli trolls go by the name of Arvram Vogler, Barbara, Richard Messina, Phillip et al... but all are Israelis posting the most hideously sinister remarks about Palestinians and any American they want.

But if you're pro-peace, pro-Palestinian or anti zionism be assured this company has your data and will use it against you. This is an affront to all Americans. That a nation of genocidal religious and ethnic extremists aka ZIONISTS who insist they're God's chosen and that God was a real-estate agent who sold them Palestinian lands.

They use our money to censor us, then kill with our money in the name of America. We are tied up with them so bad they've infiltrated our technology and have taken over our social discourse.

Through AIPAC they own our Politicians. Americans have been sold to Israel. Look below at their remarks.

Tip for consumers:
It's time that our nation has representatives who work for us, not Israel. To outsource our thoughts and minds to an Imperialist religious extremist colonial project in the middle east is Ludicrous.

Yahoo's previous CEO Marissa Meyer (dual nation Israeli) did this. Its like they have an us vs them Outlook.

I got an email from OpenWeb rejecting after ten days my comment on a Yahoo opinion article about Ukraine. I'd merely suggested in my comment that "perhaps a different and more historically informed perspective" than that provided in the Yahoo-reproduced TIME article might be obtained by perusing David Stockman's latest article at antiwar.com on the history of Ukraine. I linked Mr. Stockman's article so that readers could judge for themselves. That was the entire extent of my comment. Mr. Stockman, a former two-term Michigan congressman (from my hometown district back in the day) and OMB director, has a degree in history from my undergraduate alma mater, Michigan State, and he tends to do his homework on such subjects, as do I (Ph.D., English, University of Illinois). I don't necessarily agree with his political views on many subjects (he's a traditional Republican, fortunately not a neocon, while I'm a Progressive Democrat), but I respect his analyses, especially when it comes to the military-industrial complex and the often Wall Street-driven corporate media on certain subjects. To dismiss out of hand the complicated and divisive history of Ukraine, the role of NATO, the coup in 2014, the eight-year civil war in the Donbas, and all that gradually built the unfortunate context for the current war in Ukraine seems willful ignorance and intellectual dishonesty, which will make any future (and essential) negotiated settlement all that much harder.
